To know another one must first know themselves.

Cole was in the dead center of the room. His feet shoulder width apart, his knees bent. It would look like to anyone watching like he was seating in an invisible chair. His eyes were closed, his breathing controlled. Cole was training, training his mind, and his body equally.

He punched, blocked, countered opponents that were not there. It was something he did every day. Being Echani it was second nature. Adherence to the belief that you truly did not know somebody until you fought them. Which meant he spent more time sparring people than he did anyone else. Some times only in his underwear but today he wore some light clothing.

For the moment he had the room to himself.

Cole paused for the briefest of moments closing his eyes as if to mentally download the movements he had just done. It was a short lived pause as he resumed this time working through a different sequence of movements. The variation was subtle enough that one would almost need a holo recording of the previous one to compare and be able to spot the difference between it and the one he was currently doing.

It was a t peace with himself in this moment. To an outsider not familiar with Echani traditions it would seem as if he got a thrill out of the combat itself. When actually it was not the fighting but what one learned about themselves and there opponent that was the real goal of everything they did. It was not about victory, or wealth, or honor. It was about growth.
