Toast to Tomorrow

A chance run in, litterally, at the party she had put on to get people to know about the Metal Lords brought about this evening. A man had bumped into her and offered to make up for the mistake to take her out. Accepting both his apology and his offer to go out, she contacted him a few days later to find out if that was serious. They agreed to meet up and a location was dictated by her.

She was a secret sith within the Metal Lords, but fulfilled her role within them. They did not know her alignment within the Force and while some may have suspicions, there was no proof of what she was. Formerly head of intelligence within the Dominion, Ra had made sure most of her past was swept away and kept it secret. Not everything was struck from her record, but all that could be found would be related to the Metal Lords, her time with the Dominion and a small sample of what happened in her life between the ages of seventeen and when she joined the Dominion.

Her childhood was a secret known only to her. Her alliance with the Sith Empire was also secret, however she was no part of that Empire. When a call came to her, her role as an ally was that of an assassin. Those were few and far between. However, that connection came in handy now and then.

The location Ra picked was an unknown to most people to be that for the assassins. On the surface it looked like any other restaurant. Look into further details though and there were signs that had meaning to the assassins. Each employee here worked within that secret organization under some capacity, but also ran a business of what was seen on the surface.

Being within the ranks of the men and women, Ra could request their aid if needed or use of the building. She didn't need the whole building for tonight, but a private room.

Tonight Ra was going to be slightly different than what she was at the party. While she still kept her Force presence hidden, this way if Andulf could use the Force, he wouldn't know she could or what her alignment was. At the party, she wore professional business attire. Tonight, she wasn't on the job so to say and was more comfortable.

Within this house of assassins, she wore no visible weapons and was actually more relaxed here than almost any other place besides her home on Vjun. This would show in how she looked even. That business façade she had worn at the party would be gone. Replaced now by something far more friendly, but with maybe slightly calculating eyes. Those eyes could always be seen as those of a business person though so not something abnormal or hostile.

She wore black boots and pants, her shirt though was more ivory or cream in color. Her sleeves were long and hid the short saber hilts up that rested on her arm. Just because one couldn't see any weapons, that didn't mean they weren't there.

The room arranged for her, Ra now waited there for Andulf to show up for the evening and actually looked forward to the opportunity. It had been a very long time since she had been asked out on a date and she hoped it went well.

It did take some bit of discussion and some long-winded argument between him, the head of his personal security entourage and Ja'rrod the Captain of their house. But eventual he was able his point across along with some sort compromise to even get out of the estate door for that matter. Given that with the current state of things were with both their parents had passed away and his sister due to her own personal reason abdicating the title to him. It was as they said not prudent as it were wise to have the last remaining heir of House Teraan engage in these unscheduled or secret trip on his own. Especially on top the fact now that he'd also been appointed by the princess herself as ambassador to Alderaan....and that they argue he should do away with all this bachelor nonsense or antics. Which only infuriated him further as much could be said about it he really didn't care nor want to have things turn out as they had. That for once he would be been fine with how things were despite the constant fights between him and his father in regards to how thing was and how it should be among other things.....including the fact that he'd been disowned and exiled by his own father before his death. That it was if not for her mother covering up things ....truth or reason to his exile and take the secret to her grave that it could cause quite a scandal that would be the ruin of them all not say the least a stain on the family honor. But stay he did and play along with it all for the sake his twin sister. But for once he grew tired of it all and argues for once he wanted least see for himself the world outside.

Live and have a glimpse of what normal life was and he'd sworn or promise that he'd return to continue on play his part in the grander scheme of things. As his mother would have wanted and fought hard till her death...and so with much being said or done he got what he wanted. As he then changes into clothes other than his official ones. He set off escorted by his close friend and confidant Captain Ja'rrod to one the local hangars purchase a ticket under one of several assumed name he kept since his youth. Andulf Teraan, not Count Teraan left onboard one the freighters head off to the address provided by Ra'a'mah as to where they would meet.

Once there he'd been able to check in and afford himself some lodging for the duration his stay here. However the length of time it would be he then dresses up and heads off into town. Having to hail a speeder he soon found himself in quite an interesting place.

Where once he'd handed the data card and notified the user as to who he was meet. That he was then lead in under the watchful eyes of the Ussher. Who he could have sworn to seem somewhat oddly peculiar and very attentive to his every move than usual. Which wouldn't have much matter if not for some his old training from seem a lifetime ago creep back into the picture? One which he had thought he'd left behind once before when he threw in the towel. Despite the warning, he gotten before he did.....that no matter what they were still going be watching. Wait for the time when he'd come back to the folds.....

The people that worked there knew of her incoming company and brought Andulf to her when he entered. She stood up as he was led into the room and in his body language she could tell he knew or felt something was different about this location. If he could tell this, there was more to him than he appeared to be. Something for Ra to look up after this dinner if it didn't come up in the conversation between them.

She stood up as he entered and smiled with as much welcome as she could. It was actually quite a lot since here she was relaxed. Only façade she had on was the one covering her Force ability. Motioning for him to join her, the usher closed the door and left them alone.

"I'm glad you came, Andulf. Please make yourself comfortable."

The private room was not like that of restaurant exactly. It looked more like a den or study. Leather furniture, a desk and shelves. Along with tables and lamps on each of them. This was far more intimate and personal than some place that was more public.

"What would you like to drink?"

It was then thought hard as he could to sway his mind away from the very thought that for whatever reason. His mind eye spoke thought in whisper held on seem firm in the belief that he might very well be been followed. But how or why he argued was at best near impossible seeing as he glances around. As his eye darted around the hall until such time that they came to an impasse and a rather than being lead towards what he could surmise. Had been as he could overhear the clanking of silverware, glass and the somewhat muffled sound of conversation to be the main dining hall. Which to him seem quite peculiar as a hand darted before him and he was leading the opposite direction. Down a hall with very ornate yet smaller doors of what he guess didn't look anywhere near as what he'd been accustom or new from previous meeting engagement he had to attend to as ambassador. Which made him somewhat unsure and in turn shifted his sense on high alert that it had been prior. But then again he could fathom as he retraced his step and backtrack all prior encounter if he'd recognized anything out of line from her. No notable clue nor marking at the very least traits that he knew most crime syndicate, rebel rouser, assassin guild or anarchist group that he knew of. But then again its been quite some time since he'd been or ever entertain even the slightest thought return to that life. But then every so often he came across a glimpse of it thru the ongoing reports Ja'rrod fed him as part his daily briefing. So he figured he more or less updates in regards to trends may it only been not the whole picture as he kept himself knew. At any rate play along with things seeing no reason to raise the alarm as that thought was then sooner than later cut short. As they came to a pause in front of a seem non-descript door. That his guide or perhaps hostess had appointed...

As it then once they enter the room that it seem to continue on just like clockwork without his even think nor wanting it to. Something which she could no less pick up on thought he explicitly tried hard act out as he'd been that of which role he had to for that night. As he hides or masks behind his seem normal charms the secret he so desperately keeps from all. As behind that charming smile upon walk up to her as she stood up to meet him with a smile on her lips with accompanying welcoming words.

"I'm glad you came, Andulf. Please make yourself comfortable."

And with that put out the charm akin that of the role he'd pick for himself that night. That of a seem lowly representative rather than the reality that he was no less. One of few well to do count who'd held quite his fair share of liquid assets as well shareholding into quite a few diverse contracts. Most of which was mostly acquired by his late father given that although their house didn't or wasn't a titan of any industry. Something he didn't much care for nor really like but then again it served him to do so in other ways. As a distraction or just something bore him enought to calm down his nerves. As he nods and reaches over to give the common greetings as he replied back.

"Am glad to be here and for your acceptance to this meet. ."

They then enter the room which at first glance didn't even come close to looking like any restaurant he knew of but more of a private study. Which only added fuel to his suspicion that he tried so far hard to the temper of brush aside thinking it was a folly, to begin with. Beside she presented herself be quite the businesswoman beheading quite an expansive asset as well. That is other than her shapely figure which he had to quickly admonish himself for even think. As he had reminded himself what he was here for but then again he was a man and probably hang around with the boys over in the barracks was not quite a good idea. Thought it provided him with quite a plethora of Intel as to behaviors he knew some his more close contemporary of the other houses had. Or were a rumor to which was said of them which prove useful from time to time. In pursuing off his trail when the got to close to the truth he kept. As engaging in the usual bachelor shenanigan were not something he came had done or know. Given the truth behind the secrets, he kept was not something which he didn't have the liberty to engage in. Given that he knew more about how to make a stealth kill rather than how to woo a girl. But he thought that was beside the point as he then began to focus on the now and carry on with things as best he could. Hope against hope he didn't slip up or she found out even a sliver of the truth. As he then did his best not be so uptight and relax...enjoy the time off and the company for the night. As she then once the two enters and were left along with no one other than a waiter of sort standing so stoic one side that she spoke.

"What would you like to drink?"

That he then look back at her reply.

" Well, don't know maybe a nice glass of whren or ale perhaps would be nice start the night?"

The waiter, an employee of the assassins and also baring the tattoo of being one nodded at the order and left the room. Ra had already told them what she wanted and made sure whatever Andulf might want could be prepared for him if he choose to eat.

He sat down in one of the offered chairs and Ra took hers back. It should be clear to him that she was different than at the pizza party. More natural and open. Not fully open, but as close as she would come on this first night out. If it didn't go past these drinks, they would at least have the opportunity to know each other.

"You said you represent Alderaan. What do you do for the planet?"

At the party he would have learned her position within the Metal Lords, but not much more beyond that. So if he wanted to know more about that aspect of her life, Ra would speak on it freely. More personal questions would weighed carefully before answering, but they had yet to be asked.

It was then soon after night started with the question regarding drinks which quite frankly was to him an interesting start.Of what was proving to be quite a highly unusual as it was interesting to meet even for him.As if nothing else rarely did he ever had gone off to agreed meet anyone the way he had with her. And to top it off the way things where from the time he arrives in the way he'd silently observed the going on about the place. The subtlety of their activities along with strange marking hidden well in the folds of the attendant's shirt sleeve. Where though discreet was visible at a certain angle which he'd only dare had a growing suspicion. Had only notice once ever in the past but was not about to entertain the thought behind it. As for anything else as far he believes it looking at her. That he'd taken every precaution burry that life behind him and had been cautious in his concealing much of it. But still, the thought lingers as words from the past came slip in his mind.... as it were his train of thought was interrupted as she spoke to him.

"You said you represent Alderaan. What do you do for the planet?"

To which he then turn face her and left to somehow contemplate his answer replied just as their drinks came.

"That I did say didn't I? Which I guess sufficed to be the easiest answer give for some thought really is quite vague to those in the know or those wanting to be in the know. Given the state, Alderaan one can be too careful but I guess might as well come clean. if I answer that could entice the same of you?"

He then pauses gaze in her eyes as he plays coy watch her reaction and using it as a guide how best proceed. To which one he elicited and answer replied to continue on.

"Well, for the most part, I represent the interest and act as a consultant between certain shareholders in Alderaan and those wishing to do business with them. Nothing too fancy or much merit for most I am but a humble servant to the crown and its people."

He then passingly took a sip of his drink and appear enjoy savor its taste when in fact old habit seems hard to break. As he held back and observed her further in only to ease his mind as he then asked back.

"And if you would not fault me to ask but seem given you appear to be quite the popular face albeit beside being the hostess of the gathering. That i too out curiosity wanted to ask what if any do you represent ?"

The secret sith lord was well aware of how cloak and dagger games went, she could tell Andulf was not a stranger to them either. Even if he hid it well and maybe even thought that part of his life was in the past. Nobody could truly forget, move out of it or leave it behind fully.

Accepting the drink brought back for them, Ra lifted her glass to Andulf with a small, but real smile. He said his earlier answer was rather vague and something he would say to those not in know. This brought a single lifted brow which lowered as he spoke on about coming clean and asked if she would do the same. Letting out a low chuckle at his first question, Ra took a sip of her drink before setting it down on the table next to her chair.

"I'll play along with this game, Andulf. A question here and an answer there. You want my cards laid out to see and you offer yours."

He continued on, leaving out any fine details on the clients he worked for. Concluding that he was a simple servant for the crown and its people. She watched him for any tells that would indicate anything he might be hiding, but from she could tell everything he said was true...even if the details were absent. At his question on who she represented, she would make a slow move to one of her pockets.

The move wasn't threatening and there was nothing in it to indicate she was going to do anything hostile. All professional at the moment, but her gold eyes glinted slightly. As if she was a hunter stalking its pretty and he was that prey. Taking what looked like it could be a wallet out of her pocket, she withdrew a card and moved to hand it to him.

"Ra'a'mah Numare and head of the Merchant Fleet. I look to establish trade between my fleet and other groups or people. As for being popular, I will blame that one being hostess of that party. It was my first and I got reunited with a few old acquaintances and met you."

There was a lingering smile at the end of her sentence and Ra picked up her glass again to take another drink.

"You are mostly a servant? What else are you then?"

It was then playing along with the sort cloak and dagger-ish front with her Andulf for all his faults. Was not keen do so intentionally but then again one's history as his father said once before was if anything. An unforgiving as it were a cruel master for which no one was above nor really able break away from. To which as he eyes her intently while he sat seem complicity across from her was if not for anything other than unintentional thought predictive. As in the back his mind, the past attack or threat from both outside as well from within Alderaan had been fresh in his mind. Where once allies as was the case of one the minor House in Alderaan was to them and the succeeding strife that followed. Along with those other wars or conflict that Alderaanians had to face of late made him all but to weary of new acquaintances. But just the same thought suspicion of her baseless or not as it would be was no less there. May it be that she was perhaps a spy or simply an agent of one rivaling or against the crown or group he now represents play in his mind. And which he, in turn, couldn't help but work face head on...by his terms...and for him decide. As he patiently waits for her next salvo of answers that could potentially make or break his view of her. Though seem not fully aware of the gravity of truth behind those eyes and the sweet smile that slowly but surely seem to play with his mind.

"I'll play along with this game, Andulf. A question here and an answer there. You want my cards laid out to see and you offer yours."

To which he then slightly nod as seem in agreement then proceeded to speak as he then honoring the unspoken agreement between them. Spoke in partial terms of himself revealing some thought not fully. Speaking in general terms or phrases as to who he works for or what he did to which she seem then with the faint chuckle and between a sip of her own drink then listen. Before come forth to lay one her own cards to the table as she spoke very least provide him with a name along with few details about herself.

"Ra'a'mah Numare and head of the Merchant Fleet. I look to establish trade between my fleet and other groups or people. As for being popular, I will blame that one being hostess of that party. It was my first and I got reunited with a few old acquaintances and met you."

That he then seem feeling some semblance of satisfaction to her answer as he for a moment had to fend off a momentary surge of wanting to react presume threat from her. But did not seem much to his relief later on as it proves to be false as he comes witness soon after. When she paused to seem to reach over grab something onto her person that eventually prove be nothing less than a simple business card. Which he graciously accepted and gave once look over while listening to her words. Still unable resist the temptation to make sure catch any clue or hints of deception or such in her action. Which seem none came as he then carefully slips to put away the card for safe keeping within the side inner folds of his coat. Turn over to face her as she soon came forth with her own question for him.

"You are mostly a servant? What else are you then?"

At which time feel a faint glimmer of confidence as seem relief that his fears be unfounded to a certain extent. Having note any solid proof of danger, threat or falsehood from her as best he'd gather. That he slowly let some thought not all his guard down as he proceeds to answer....as slowly it seems he couldn't help feeling a faint fondness for her slowly form. While his eyes seem unable to look away and be drawing her smile.

"Well in a sense guess there no going around it and since you have been true to your word thus far. That might as well say it....no that is not thought for the time being that all I can believe or hold on to be what I am. Given all the strife and wars that had befallen Alderaan of late know if it still has merit or carries as much weight as it had in the past. But know I didn't lie though when it all comes down to it that is seem what I am...a servant to a past which I hope earn rather than inherit by the simple account of just being born into it.

As the case would be that I am but one of two remaining heirs to one the great house Teraan of Alderaan. Which is something am not particularly fond of but it is what it is and ....that hope you would not think badly of me if I've not come out say it outright. As I assume you yourself Ra'a'ma know all too well the personal precaution one tend live by.... ."

His eyes them turn gaze straight at her seem not so much as to challenge as it conveyed the sincerity of his words. Which was not meant so much as a plea as it were a reassurance that he at least believe her and was will to foster an understanding between them. One which he'd hope they could build a sense of trust upon thought, however, faint it was which they both could start things off from.

Andulf took the card she offered to him and after looking at it, he placed it into one of his own pockets. After she answered his questioin, he seemed to relax and open slightly. When he spoke, Ra sensed no deception from him and she gave a very small nod at this. In saying she was being truthful, this was accurate, but her past had been colorful. Not as much as some, but certainly more than others.

Listening to every word Andulf now spoke, Ra nodded in understanding of why he hadn't announced what he told her now at the party. Another person could have used his position as an advantage to gain rank in their own life. With him being heir to a noble house may also cause him to be a target for assassination. For just a moment, she found it amusing he was in a house full of assassins.

"Why would I think any differently of you? Besides, that's not something one would announce unless they were very secure of their safety or just plain stupid. I don't think you were at that time and you certainly aren't stupid. I understand entirely about precaution and the need to take them."

When she gave that tiny nod before, it was a sign of an internal decision of her own. When he shared something about himself, she would too. Eventually both of them would know everything about the other. Keeping a few cards back, she decided to tell him a little of her own past.

"Before I became head of the Merchant Fleet, I belonged to a now dead faction called the Dominion. Within them, I started as a simple merchant and as time progressed, it was noticed I had many connections. Eventually I was offered a spot as head of intelligence. Before then though, I came to rule two planet that were under their umbrella, Vjun and Helska IV. Sadly both are pretty much devoid of life, but are still mine. In a way, I rule them and my people have taken to calling me a baroness. Not quite the same as your position though."

This was an aspect of her life and her past almost knew about now. It gave them a form of common ground to stand on though.

"I wasn't born into a noble family and have worked for the position I have now."

It was then as he spoke that she seems no less became seem more attuned and listen ever so intently to his words as he spoke it. And that just for once seem just converse and not have worry about protocols or having talk of status ...ranks....politic for that matter.Being how it seems or felt somewhat relieving as it was refreshing to have someone for once view him as just simply Andulf and not so much the count. That as things have come from such a noble house despite all the privileges or advantages had in it its own drawback. Of things such as primarily the fact with such power so did come certain responsibility or danger which for the most part in the wrong hands could make or break one rank in life. That for all its glitz or glamor so to came the lies as did the nagging voice or fact. He could not help doubt one's intention or generosity afforded to him by just anyone. But then again with her at that time it all seems not matter as she then sem for a momentary pause. Seem bemused by something he dares not seem know and yet felt seem to be fine with it. As she then soon came speak and for a moment appeared to belay some thought, not all his worries...

"Why would I think any differently of you? Besides, that's not something one would announce unless they were very secure in their safety or just plain stupid. I don't think you were at that time and you certainly aren't stupid. I understand entirely about precaution and the need to take them."

By which time appreciative of her understanding and seem to speak plainly to him rather than sugarcoating their words. Being upfront and truthful as she was blunt gave him some comfort to ease his mind while lean back a bit after taking sip of his drink that he came the reply.\

"Well in a way guess I thank you for the vote of confidence as seem it no less ring with some truth to it. For seem between us twins....my sister seems been alway the brains while I was the brawn. Where she'd strategies thing I would seem simply rush into things head-on. Soemthing with as head of a merchant fleet you would more or less understand. That although strategies do good sometimes take a gamble on things would do one better. And I can only assume get to that point may not be an easy one?"

As he then came gaze at her seem silently note that the ball was in her court to speak while he then came continue to listen to her words.

"Before I became head of the Merchant Fleet, I belonged to a now dead faction called the Dominion. Within them, I started as a simple merchant and as time progressed, it was noticed I had many connections. Eventually, I was offered a spot as head of intelligence. Before then though, I came to rule two planet that was under their umbrella, Vjun and Helska IV. Sadly both are pretty much devoid of life but are still mine. In a way, I rule them and my people have taken to calling me a baroness. Not quite the same as your position though."

As she then seems to take momentary pause as if to acknowledge at the same time as he came realize it how to seem . However different their path was or journey each took to seemingly come into their title that they both share one thing. That seems come from opposite end of the spectrum either no less for now held power and despite it or any folly that journey took. Their people none the less not lost fate nor gave into it that they still held sway over time to some extent. As she then seems sense this somehow his thought that Ra then came add say.

"I wasn't born into a noble family and have worked for the position I have now."

To which he then with a nod of show understanding that he in turn replied.

"Well i guess born into it or not we both seem have our work cut out for us as for my part although I was born to it really didn't feel it be right till i learn what it meant to earn it. Seeing after all was said and done that while i stay safe giving not much thought nor value to what it really meant. Begrudging having to have sat thru another long lecture and yet another test. That at the same time well across space while countless other suffer or perished while i was away safe.....and if anything else comes home to see with my own eyes that despite all this. How much in high regards they still sought to see me and even despite the hard road to recovery. "

He then raise his glass a bit in a seem phantom toste.

"...guess here to us and our sojourn that which we've traveled. May wind find our sail ....stars shine bright lead our way and we find that we most sought."

It was then once it was all said and done that seem that she was as much he was comfortable speak with the other freely. That he out of curiosity came forth speak to her and ask.

"But then again i guess if may ask.....is this place another of your company holding or just a place you frequent much. Because if nothing else i don't think I've ever heard of this place before. But don't get me wrong as i think its seem to be such an interesting and safe place be at more or less."

A small glimmer of amusement crossed her eyes as Andulf spoke of being the kind of person to rush in before giving something thought. That his sister was the strategist instead. It fit her personally and Ra considered options before making a decision.

"Maybe your sister and I could get along. I'm rather a thinker before making a decision in taking a course of action. A level head is nice to have in most situations. Sometimes those rash actions are needed as well though. I'm pretty sure you left a few messes she needed to clean up after."

Speaking with a touch of humor, Ra didn't know anything more about his past than what he said. So her words might be more accurate than she thought. As she listened to what he said next and sense of curiosity crossed her features. So far he hadn't given her any reason to keep what she felt to herself and did not hide the fleeting emotions that passed through her.

"So do you feel I have earned your position?"

Picking up her drink, Ra leaned forward and looked him in the eye as she asked that question. He raised his glass to make a toast and she joined him in doing the same adding in her own touch.

"A toast to tomorrow."

Taking a drink, she considered exactly how to answer his question of her. To give him an honest answer would reveal a lot about her. It would also tell him she was far more than a simple business leader. Setting her glass down, she was silent for a few more moments. Her face became serious before she spoke.

"This place is not a part of the Merchant Fleet or a place I frequent often. It is a safe place to come though if you have the right connections. Do I have your word that whatever is said between us here does not go beyond us?"

It was then noted the faint glint in her eyes as he spoke and drop a hint of the kind man he was compared his sibling. Who for the most part, was not something he elaborated on. Or for the most part care speak of the fact he had a twin or they were twins as it somehow, for the most part. Bring up such idea lead to some quite interesting question as if nothing else the idea of twins or having one was such a rarity. That it mostly lead to talks or points of comparison between the two. Which on all account was something he'd hated growing up but seem not in her company as he continues on to listen.

"Maybe your sister and I could get along. I'm rather a thinker before making a decision in taking a course of action. A level head is nice to have in most situations. Sometimes those rash actions are needed as well though. I'm pretty sure you left a few messes she needed to clean up after."

To which with a light chuckle he then concludes to reply.

"Yes, I would think you and her would get along nicely although I would think I'll probably not hear the end of it. When I do bring it up with her as she can't help still act like a big sister to me even now. As your presumption is sort on point in that ...well may or did leave a few messes for her clean up or cover for me growing up."

He then as spoke could not help notice the slight shift in her as they continued to converse and seem slow but surely got know each other a little more than before. That for whatever reason Andulf could have sworn to himself that he could almost note a slight easiness in he tone as well hints of fleeting reciprocal emotion come from her. To which only help to ease his mind as she came forth ask her next question.

"So do you feel I have earned your position?"

To which he then with seem confidence replied.

"I do and hope so.... though I know it would never erase the fact nor the things that happen in the past. But eventually, i can only hope that I would do and be a better man than once was."

His words although seem simple was in truth as cryptic as it were honest to the point without really saying or elaborating much. For as much to him was clear in that although he was at peace and willing share who he was with her. There were still parts of his past he wasn't ready to reveal nor talk with anyone else for now. At which time no sooner had he engage her and interlude to a toast which she graciously accepted. While she then lifted her own glass and added to his words.

"A toast to tomorrow."

As soon enought with the faint clink of glasses they toasted the night away. As he then launched to ask his own retort question which she then with a pause and a sip of her own drink came the reply. While place down her drink before him then leaning close and serious look on her face spoke.

"This place is not a part of the Merchant Fleet or a place I frequent often. It is a safe place to come through if you have the right connections. Do I have your word that whatever is said between us here does not go beyond us?"

To which with an equally serious look on his face as he too leans over reply.

" I see, well in a way I understand and you need not worry for you have my word anything said here will stay just between us."

She couldn't help but give a real chuckle when he mentioned his sister and her protective attitude she had for Andulf. Not having had any family, it was something Ra wasn't familiar with, but found the situation and thought amusing. Nodding when he admitted to leaving some messes to clean up, she took another sip of her drink. Setting it down and wearing a clear smile on her face as she spoke.

"Typical male expecting the female to clean up a mess left behind. I see how it is."

When he answered her question on if he felt he had gained the right to his position, the comment about being a better man than in the past really caught her attention. It certainly indicated there was more to him than being a nobleman and politician. Choosing not to follow up on it, she would later though. If they met up again after tonight. Ra would leave that up to him.

He extended that he gave his word that anything she said would stay between them. Hoping when he said that it meant as much as it did when she said the same thing, Ra was not as reluctant to say what she had to say.

"This location is run by Sith Assassins and the people that work here are all within that umbrella. In telling you the truth of this establishment, you already know about me than anybody has learned in the last two years. Free Worlds and Metal Lords don't even know I can use the Force. With them I am a simple merchant and I want it kept that way."

It was at them that seemingly speak his mind about him and his sibling thought in slight jest apparently.Elicited a slight chuckle from her that was then followed by a faint nod to when he mentions passingly about the messy part of his life. Although stopping short of really speak much of nor of the gravity it all was. For if truth be told there was much he'd owed his sister that anyone knew as she protectively kept it all between them. As one would only understand if one were a twin. And shared with them both seem everything as much life itself...But then again he pauses to put away that thought as she then soon came speak and he listened.

"Typical male expecting the female to clean up a mess left behind. I see how it is."

That he with a sheepish grin on his face concluded say.

"Really now eh? Well, belive me if you really knew...how much she seemingly had put up. Typical male or not she did have her hands full just trying to keep me and dear old dad from each other back. But then I guess that how life is behind the everything."

He then takes a sip of his drink while eagerly await if or what she might say in response to his little question. Which at best given the way she started things off by exacting gain his word in silence. Was at best intrigued him so though what was said next was not quite he expected. But keep things in stride he listens and gave no indication of anything other than a neutral look on his face while listening.

"This location is run by Sith Assassins and the people that work here are all within that umbrella. In telling you the truth of this establishment, you already know about me than anybody has learned in the last two years. Free Worlds and Metal Lords don't even know I can use the Force. With them, I am a simple merchant and I want it kept that way."

After which take to place his glass down and brief silence that he soon came the reply.

"I see, well guess that sort explain some things and if anything else I am honor that you would trust me with such details. If anything else I am a man of my word though it wasn't always the case. For if I guess in good faith in keeping with my word earlier.... I to hold back things so few knew as well. Things only, my sister knew and was in a way one the mess she cleans up with me."

"I think you're lucky to have a family, Andulf. It lacked from my life. Even the man that raised me didn't show me affection. Instead of a child raised by a loving family, I was raised by a man that wanted me to succeed him in power. That never happened though and he was killed. I ran before it could happen to me."

It may not be clear to him, but she spoke of her sith master and his downfall when he tried to take control of the planet they lived on. It had been a slow and gradual decline for him, but in the end it cost him his life. Having seen what could happen first hand, Ra had decided not to ever become like him. What power in her life she had, she had gained through her own work. Not because she had taken power.

"Honestly, I don't think any aspect of life is ever fully put behind a person. Always the chance something can crop up and bring it back."

Some of her own history was like that. In her past, but still affecting her present. Most things had been left behind though and not thought of now. After a few moments of silence between them when she revealed where they were, Andulf spoke again.

"Everybody has secrets they want kept hidden and this part of my life is one of them."

Trusting him not to reveal anything, Ra hoped it wasn't misplaced.

Instead of a child raised by a loving family, I was raised by a man that wanted me to succeed him in power. That never happened though and he was killed. I ran before it could happen to me."

She then said to which with a smirk on his face and faint sigh Andulf replied.

"Well I guess that one may see it....lucky have a family although be honest, it was more like a family by name if nothing else. We really didn't get raise by our parent rather by courts servants or each other. See my father was mostly concerned or busy with the affairs of the court or crown rather than us. Which guess is kinda given his status while on the other hand, Mother was all to keen make sure we were made fully aware of our place in society. Grooming us and make absolutely sure not a hair on our head was out of place....but guess couldn't fault them for being that way. Given how things were or state things when we were growing up.

As we were kept safe and not wanting for anything at all were provided in every possible way. Which guess kinda looking now wasn't half as bad though it was compared to yours. And in a way seem kinda ironic as in a way despite our different opposite poles of existence from where we started life. We seem to have quite a bit of similarity as there are dissimilarities. Can one put behind one's aspect of life I wonder?"

Of which was a question that seems toy in his mind as if nothing else being here with her despite the revelation by her of where "here" really was. Seem not concern him as one would think for in her company he could help but feel some sort connection that if nothing else he really didn't see nor know feel before. Which despite the misgiving that Ja'rrod would no doubt have once he found any this out....not that he'd ever tell nor even think of doing so. But then again he had his ways of seeming knowing or finding him out or so he thought. As for what its worth despite everything his life especially during the time between his departure to the Academy and recent return was a concern. Had been at best his most well-guarded secret that none except himself and those that were there knew off to some extent. ANd was something he rather works on keeping as such even from her for now.....as despite whatever feeling he seems to slowly harbor for her. He was at best not yet ready to go that far with her in that he would reveal things just like that. As he then seems deep in thought nursed as much he sips from his glass that his mind was then soon distracted to draw the present by her. As he then seems not yet fully aware nor understood the depth of the words she spoke of entirely yet he listen none the less.

" Honestly, I don't think any aspect of life is ever fully put behind a person. Always the chance something can crop up and bring it back."

At which time with a nod in seeming agreement. As he then soon after a brief silence between them extended to speak as he gave her his word in confidence of all that was said or done that day. Which would not be much but just that .... words and yet in retrospect she then spoke.

"Everybody has secrets they want kept hidden and this part of my life is one of them."

And he seems in agreement replied and seem to leave it at that for her take any meaning to his word.

" Indeed as seem to be the case.... with the uncertainty that life or chance of life brings. One can never be too certain but one does one's best move on in a way of their own accord. That to some extent, everybody has their secret....something which to some extent one keep hidden. As you have yours so do i. Which though not fully prepared say is mired in its own much and not something I don't even know begin with. But suffice it to know old mentor once use to say. When the world is coming undone before one's eyes.....sometimes it is better to do a lesser evil to do a greater good ."

A family by name only. This was something Ra could understand. An aspect of her life she kept very secret was a connection she had with the Raxis clan. Having been adopted into it as a sister to Stardust. So in that way she was family by name only. They had been raised far differently, but Ra had not been shown any real affection by the man that raised her. She smiled Andulf mentioned even though things were different for them growing up, they turned out to be rather similar in nature.

"It sometimes seems my own past comes back to haunt me. On the other hand, sometimes that past has done me some good."

If he asked what she meant, Ra would tell him. For now though, she kept the rest of what she hadn't told him to herself.

"That mentor sounds a little like a sith."

It was said with a bit of humor, but it was very close to her personal outlook on things. Not evil by nature, there were times when something bad needed to be done to accomplish something good.

It was then as the two conversed and soon came seemingly gain a bit more of the other trust to a certain degree or point that. They came find themselves talking about their own family thought it was veiled behind cryptic or metaphoric words for the most part. It still somewhat rang true with faint truth to it that led to a thin line of similarity as much dissimilarity come forth. Thought coming from fairly opposite side of the spectrum in their individual status in life.

"It sometimes seems my own past comes back to haunt me. On the other hand, sometimes that past has done me some good."

Didn't seem to matter much to him at that time than seeing the faint smile brush across her lips mentioning as he did this point. Where even though things were different for them growing up, they turned out to be rather similar in nature. Of which he could no less nod in agreement as he listens to her as Ra talks on say. That he could help feel a hint of curiosity creep into a certain degree by that time the teasing temptation as her to elaborate struck him. As such it no less plays heavy in his mind as time progresses as she then seems became enthralled by his short segway. Drop in hints or lett them somehow slip out. A fairly seem innocent account from those long days past about a man... mentor....as he interjected himself to led him to believe to this day been. Thought part him still could help feel the faint prick of doubt bleed into his thought at that time if it would be fair continue on or cut things short from here on. For as much could be said about it. The path from which things could no less lead to or end was subject he carried so deeply within him as much it been ingrained into his psyche. That he dare not have spoken of it to anyone not even with his own twin sister. Who he no doubt had some inclination to it but respected him enough or perhaps felt so deeply about him to care tread lightly. Share a boundless bond with each other that only a few if any knew all too well. That soon enough the conflict trail seem was thankfully derail and distracted by her with word that she soon came speak in. A somewhat matter of fact tone yet bears with it a faintly light-hearted underlying jest as she spoke.

"That mentor sounds a little like a sith."

As he then raises a glass halfway came reply back.

"Well I don't know about but who knows the old man could've been one in another lifetime. Seeing as he was a stickler for leaving the past behind and instigate that affecting or creating the future was all that matter. That he'd never once spoken of past as much he'd talk about the future he'd envision. Seeing how off-kilter and unbalance things were favoring one side to the other......which I guess if being crabby and so single-minded as much driven to act he was... "

He then leans close enought to her let his breath now musky with the faint smell of fine drinks that he all but just about down for his second or third glass? He really hadn't mind keep track off continued.

"he might as well been a SIth.... although he didn't have nor carry one those laser swords or wave his hand around to be able to do all those force things they always talked about or I've read about from my time in the Academy. But even without those he commanded such a presence we really didn't question him. Even when we knew what was at stake it somehow made sense ..... sacrifices had to be made. And what sacrifices they were indeed that understand all too well the need or comfort find sanctuary or solitude in place one might not think. Like say this establishment....thought, not so much of it but place similar to it believe me I know all too well."

Nursing her own drink and making it last, Ra noticed Andulf was freely drinking his and the others that were brought it. It made him maybe speak more freely, not a chance for her to do the same. Keeping what was closest to herself until she knew him better. In reality, she had already told him almost every important detail of her life. It was the finer details she had left out.

She listened to what he said about this man and his view on things. Smiling slightly when he mentioned he could have been sith in a previous lifetime.

"I'm not sure if that's possible. Always figured a person gets one chance at life and that was all they are given. You may have been brought up to believe something different. I'd be interested in knowing your beliefs on this if you're willing to share."

It deflected the conversation away from any focus on her and turned it back to him. He leaned in closer as he spoke, the breath from his mouth a brush against her lips. Ra did not pull away from and met his eyes if Andulf was looking at her.

"What do you know of places like this?"

it was then as the day moved on and seem slowly but surely as it did that for one reason or another. He somehow grew seem loosen up a bit and began to seem to talk a bit more freely with her. With each drink and time spent in her company thought for the most part as the saying he once heard went. Something like....the clearest streams hid the most turbulent undercurrent it was at best not entirely so. For as much could be said about it though he spoke openly to her. There were still things he kept for himself for not. Not that he felt it was a violation of her trust just that since the subject hasn't brought up.

That it was then as they converse he no less kept her under his steady gaze....watching her as he did from his vantage point. As she then seems to be listening to his words and that soon with a smile on her face she then. Appear to be bemused with his slightly coy jest about his old mentor being a hidden Sith that she spoke.

"I'm not sure if that's possible. Always figured a person gets one chance at life and that was all they are given. You may have been brought up to believe something different. I'd be interested in knowing your beliefs on this if you're willing to share."

At which time as he leans forward and hung over to hover pause just mere inches from her face. That he for once seem to take a gamble move things replied.

"Well, i might...if I were to maybe convince otherwise but just the same. Thought what you said might be true its possible though somewhat improbable that so few even think much less attempt it. Given thought, one does get just one life who's to say? How infinite the possibility that one life can branch out in to in terms of chances. Much like say this place perhaps?"

With that said he theoretically made his move thought subtle to test the waters around her and silently observe as she then spoke out. Not moving back nor diverting from his moving close. As she then adds to speak.

"What do you know of places like this?"

To which he then lean closer came reply back.

" Well, i know that in this place whatever action one makes would certainly meet an equal or far more reaction to counter it if one chooses so. Like say this,.."

He then being as close he was and note how she seems to stay her ground move things along. By steal a kiss from her and lean back a bit waited to see her reaction.
