Today is a Good Day to Steal a Ship

:: HERO of KORRIBAN ::
What was it about being around criminals that made it seem so right? Bryn was never bothered by thieving, even killing. His time among the nightsisters who helped him understand his connection to the force had been very fierce. Bryn had learned to kill, and enjoy it, while among them. He had also learned to steal in order to survive, now he was set to make a living off it. The Red Ravens had decided to keep him around, though his debt for stealing from them was to let them skim off the top of whatever he took. A life of piracy was his next step it seemed, though one thing was needed first, well two things, a ship and a crew.

The crew was something that was starting to take shape. Bryn had put word out through some underground channels that he was looking to piece together a crew. While the inquiry had not produced much, he was contacted by someone, a female someone. That's all he knew at this point. Holoimages had not been shared. The inquiry wasn't a dating service, though, Bryn could use a date sometime soon. All that was agreed upon was to meet on the smuggler's moon, and plans would be made from there.

Bryn sat in a bar, things like this always went down in some seedy looking bar. It was so stereotypical that he was in the far left corner. He was the only one there with two glasses, and a bottle of rum sitting on the wooden surface of the table. The bottle and empty glasses was one of the marks he had given the female to look for as identification. The other was the black captain's coat he wore. A bit old fashioned to some, but Bryn liked it. Being inside, he top hat was not on, but set on the table as well, the final marker he had laid out for the woman. If she was as good as she claimed to be, she'd be there soon. They both had to arrange transportation, so it was test for them both in a sense.

The real test was going to come later, and the primary purpose of the meet up. A ship had to be acquired, and since they hadn't the credits to purchase one, they were going to steal one. Bryn's heart was already beating hard at the excitement of what they were about to plan. He could not wait to have a ship to call his, and crew to aid him in making some credits. The only limit was the imagination, and Bryn had a healthy imagination.

Nyx walked into the cantina, straightening her leather jacket. She'd responded to the request of a [member="Bryn Vash"], and he'd told her several signs to look for to find him. She scanned the cantina, searching for the signs.
She saw them in a corner table, and walked over to who she assumed was Bryn.

She slid into the table across from him, and blew a lock of black hair out of her face.

"So, you must be Bryn. I'm Nyx."

:: HERO of KORRIBAN ::
Bryn looked up as a pretty, and young looking, woman slid into the chair across from him. Her figure was amazing, and the dark hair which framed her face, alluring. He noticed the tattoos on her forearms, yeah this was her. He gave her the natural once over most men gave as they met a woman for the first, and every other time for that matter.

"I would be Bryn, and you're Nyx," he said pouring the contents of the rum bottle into her empty glass, then his, til they were about half full. "So looks like you got here just fine."

Bryn took a sip of his rum and let out a sigh. It was good. Reaching into his coat, Bryn pulled out a few schematics and plans which outlined all the security around several of the spaceports around. How he got them didn't matter, only that he did have them.

"Okay, so I've managed to case a few of the spaceports, but nothing good so far. These are the schematics though, and we should be able to use these to get in and out without getting caught. Oncenwe find a ship we want, we'll tag it, and watch it for a while, just to make sure there isn't anything suspicious that might come back to bite us in the ass."

Bryn pumped his brows, took another drink and smirked.

"You with me so far, sweetheart?"

[member="Nyx"]

Nyx poured over the schematics, but understood very little. The street rat could barely read, but what she saw seemed easy enough.
"So, what do we do if we get caught? We gonna kill, or just put 'em to sleep?"

She had no problem with killing any nosy guards, but she knew that if they did, they'd hunt them even harder than if they just knocked them out.
If necessary, her blade could draw blood silently.

"Put'em to sleep, unless you want to kill. Not that I'm opposed, I just don't want to do more than is needed right now."

Bryn finished his drink and dropped some credits on the table. He stood and put his top hat back on before offering a hand to the lady who was to be the first person to join his crew. That made her first mate by default.

"Where to first, then?"

[member="Nyx"]

She raised an eyebrow at him, then smirked and took his hand, standing.

"Well, boss, looks like we're off to the spaceport."
She'd never had her own ship before. First Mate Nyx. Had a nice ring to it, she thought.

She began to walk out of the cantina, looking behind her.

"You comin', boss?"

:: HERO of KORRIBAN ::
"Ladies first," Bryn motioned.

He wasn't really being chivalrous, the pirate just wanted to get a good look at the sway of the young woman's hips. Exiting the bar, the pair went straight to the spaceport. It was not far from where they were, but the trick was going to be avoiding the security feed. They didn't need the attention being on camera would give them. Walking right past the main entrance of the spaceport, Bryn walked right for the service entrance and sliced past the lock.

"Alright, take the first right once you get in and that will spit us out by the first ship I want to look at."

Bryn smirked.

"There isn't much by way of ships like I said, but there are a few."

Nyx huffed and walked through the door, a hand on her blade. If anyone tried to sneak up on her, they'd have to deal with Money Maker.

She took the first right and stopped at the corner, peering around.
No guards, so far.
She spotted the ship, and nodded.
It looked promising.

"Coast is clear."
She called back to [member="Bryn Vash"], and winced as soon as she did it.
'Stealth' was never really her thing.

:: HERO of KORRIBAN ::
Frak! She had to call back. So the street rat didn't do quiet. That would have been very helpful information to have before hand. She might be hot, but apparently she was loud. Bryn reached for his blaster after pulling the woman back and covering her mouth. In the quiet he listened to see if anyone had heard them, and fortunately for them, no one had.

He let go of the girl and spun her around to look at him. His voice was quiet, yet pretty stern.

"I certainly hope you really do know how to stay quiet. There are a lot of guards here, and we'll have no choice but to start killing if they all show up at once. I really want that ship before we can't have it."

That ship was a Ghroct 8675, a light freighter which only needed a crew of two at the smallest. It would be perfect for the two until they could recruit a few more to the crew, and who knew, maybe they'd upgrade eventually. For now, this ship was perfect, and hopefully.

"Now here's the plan. There should be two guards stationed at the bottom of the ramp, and unless they're gay, the way you're dressed should help provide a decent distraction. I just need enough time to slip past them... once I'm in do whatever you want with them."

Nyx narrowed her eyes at him and opened her mouth to retort, but simply closed it and turned around, mentally preparing herself for what she was about to do.

She put a smirk on her face and sauntered up to the guards, making sure to add extra sway in her hips.
She stopped just in front of the guards, and pouted.

"Hey there, boys. I could use some help with something. . ."
She continued that line of talk, mentally screaming for [member="Bryn Vash"] to hurry.

:: HERO of KORRIBAN ::
Bryn slipped past the guards just after he was sure to enjoy the show a little bit. The men had their jaws on the ground and eyes popping out the way [member="Nyx"] approached them from out of the blue. Who knew what kind of conversation they were having, or whether or not she had knocked them out yet. Bryn was after two things at the moment. First the travel logs. He had to make sure this ship hadn't been anywhere too out of the ordinary. The last thing he needed was a ship that was recognizable, at least until he could get the transponder codes changed. He knew a guy that could do some work so the codes would scramble with just a push of a button.

The second thing he was after was the itinerary of the owners. How long were they planning on being away from the ship before they were coming back. Leaving guards in front of the ramp had pretty much been a way to advertise that whoever owned the ship had never been to the smuggler's moon before. This ship was as good as theirs, as along as Nyx could deal with guards. For now though Bryn worked at getting into the ships main computer to drop in a backdoor for later. This would let him bypass whatever security measures the ship had in place by default, again, until he could have his guy look at it.

As the second guard hit the ground, Nyx cracked her fist in satisfaction.
She hid the unconscious guards behind a crate, and gave them one last kick before she ducked aboard the ship.

"Alright, the guards are taken care of." She announced, looking around a bit.

"What's the pan from here?"

[member="Bryn Vash"]

:: HERO of KORRIBAN ::
"The plan... is to wait for the back door to install so we can actually take off."

Bryn looked back to the ramp where the guards had been. He assumed she had taken care of them, but he needed to ask to be sure.

"How 'out' are they?"

Hopefully they were very out, because the algorithm he was running seemed to be taking a long time. The security on this ship was tighter than a walnut, and just about as hard to crack. Seemed like they would have some time so Bryn thought a tour would be in order.

"Let's raid the lounge and see what they have for booze, and pick out the quarters. Since it's just us we get dibs."

[member="Nyx"]

Nyx smirked, thinking of the large bumps certainly growing on their heads right about now.

"They won't be waking up for awhile. We have a bit."

The dark-haired woman sighed and walked to the lounge, plopping down in a seat.

"I could get used to this!" She declared, settling her hands behind her head.
"Plush chairs, booze, and my own bed! What could be better?"

[member="Bryn Vash"]

:: HERO of KORRIBAN ::
"Plush chairs, booze, and your own wing! The ship will do for now, but it won't be too long before we've earned enough to purchase a mansion or something as a base of operations."

Bryn was thinking huge, and why not? The larger the dream the more he gained trying to achieve it. The ones who thought small never amounted to much when it came to their goals. Bryn wanted so much out of life, but it was driven by finding answers to who he really was. Why had the force decided to show up in his family line again, now? There was so much to discern, but for now, he would have fun and amass a fortune in the process.

Bryn found brandy hidden away in the liquor cabinet of the lounge. It was expensive brandy. He smiled as he reached for two glasses and poured them both a generous helping.

"A toast is in order, to us and the.... hmmm suppose we need to name this thing...."

Nyx frowned, trying to come up with some good names.
She started listing ones that came to mind.

"Opportunist? Basilisk? Raptor? Firebolt?"
The street rat liked these, but was willing to come up with more if she had to.

[member="Bryn Vash"]

:: HERO of KORRIBAN ::
"You think the Jolly Roger would be too cliche?

Naturally Bryn was joking about that, but it was an option if they couldn't come up with anything. [member="Nyx"] threw out some names too, but for whatever reason, nothing was hitting Bryn like that was it. He wanted something that would strike fear into the hearts of those who heard. A name that would carry a certain reputation with it, and one that rolled off the tongue when saying it. Names... they were always the hard part.

There was a set of childhood books Bryn remembered reading that had some ship names in it. One such name had to do with dragons, colored dragons to be precise. There was the Red Dragon, Yellow Dragon, White Dragon, but the main ship, the one traveled on the most, was called the Indigo Dragon. Was that a good name, he didn't know, but it sure beat Bantha Poodoo on the list.

"What about something to do with dragons? I know cliche too, but could be cool... there was a series of old books I read one time with a ship named Indigo Dragon. Could be kinda catchy..."

"Indigo Dragon. . ." Nyx tried out the name, rolling it off her tongue. It was catchy, for sure. . .

"I like it." She announced, a grin appearing on her face. "Nyx, first-mate of the Indigo Dragon! Has a nice ring to it, don't ya think?"

The newly-christened first mate looked around their new ship, her smirk somehow more cocky than usual.
"That program just about done?"
She asked, about ready to fly this ship out of this place.

[member="Bryn Vash"]

:: HERO of KORRIBAN ::
Bryn was about to answer her question, when his datapad beeped. It was set to notify him when it was done. He smirked.

"Sure is," he said as he led the street rat toward the main frame. "So tell me, you better with slicing, or flying us out of here. I can do either, but this first ride is gonna require one of us to override and rewrite the security protocols on this thing."

The ship's security was designed to go into automatic lock down if the access code wasn't punched in by the time thrusters were engaged. Bryn could bypass that though, but he needed the engine running to do that. One of them would have to fly, while the other was overriding the access key.

"Once were off this moon, we're off to see a friend who can install a couple things... while we celebrate!"

Nyx grimaced.

"I'm about as good with computers as a Hutt is with charity." She scoffed, shaking her head.
"I'm going to have to fly."

She walked to the cockpit, sitting in the pilot's chair. She'd spent a lot of time with smugglers and pilots, and had picked up a few things from them. She was no ace, but she could fly them off the moon. . . . Probably.

"Here goes nothing. . ."
She muttered, getting the Indigo Dragon ready for takeoff.
