Toiling On Tabaqui [Levantine Sanctum Dominion of Tabaqui]

Accompanying Judah's little group of commercially minded persons was a black haired woman with a rather old-fashioned dress. No one was quite sure when she'd appeared or why she was around, but she followed around and seemed to know something about design, so she wasn't really bothered.

It was as Judah was finishing up his impressive visualisation of the plan, the woman came forward to have a private word.
"Excuse me, Mr Dashiell, a moment of your time, if I may?" she asked quietly, a small smile on her face.

If any reporters were present doubtless the headline of 'New Mystery Woman Rocks Dashiell Marriage' would appear. Stupid reporters.

The doors would burst open with flair~~ okay not really burst open, more like be opened for her.

"My goodness, this planet is absolutely divine." came Danger's coo, sunglasses being plucked from her face with a flair of her hand. Full hips would saunter on over, giving a winning smile to those present.

"Forgive me for my tardiness... I was entranced by the fresh air and the sights." another dazzling smile.

"Well... good afternoon ladies and gentlebeings."

Jorus had sort of lost track of what he was supposed to be doing. Steely-eyed, he continued shooting things that needed shooting, with an eight-gauge double-barrelled beskar shotgun loaded with CryoBan, incendiaries, concussion shells, and, when tactically sound, Lix rounds. He used Lix rounds only at range. Substantial range.

Finding herself doing her own place as she bow to the others in the group.

"I believe I"m caught off guard, Mister"

Looking over towards Delila with a nod.

I believe first thing as I would like to make sure how the health of these villagers are, with your help of course, Mister. I believe we need to get the rest of the aid on the ground for starer, do this as was pointed but you dear, we going to need to be on our guard as the more bring the more we opening ourselves up. "

"Works for me. I'll go on a patrol around the perimeter of the settlement," Kaida said laconically. She was not one for small talk and was not suited to help in humanitarian aid. She gave the Zeltron Jedi Master a nod. "The Eldorai have landed healers. They'll help you in your work."

More comms chatter had been incoming on her frequency from the city. Apparently the Firemane task force was making good progress, but then that was to be expected when your opponents used equipment that was mostly a mish-mash of the Iron Age and Medieval warfare and the most modern gun they had were archaic slugthrowers. You see, a stormtrooper could get bombarded by a dozen bolt action rifles and his armour would not even be tickled. Firemane mercenaries were taking plenty of prisoners and were establishing a provisional command post. Oh, and apparently Eyrecae had lost an eye, but she'd regrow it so Kaida was not particularly interested.

Slugs whined around him (now isn't that a mental image worth treasuring) as his shotgun belched CryoBan. Dampener aerosol and EMP shells did no good here; these jokers had bolt-action. It was like taking down the Planet of the Coreks.

"[member="Delila Castillon"]," he said into his comm, hiding behind a rock as accelerated lead chipped away at his cover, "one of these days we should figure out where we stand on this new Rebel Alliance thing."

"Of course Miss Whitelight. You and Mr.Nantaris speak with the locals. We will continue to patrol. Let us know what you need, there are supplies on our vessel as well. Take anything you'd like. Our orders are to get this settlement to speak with us, to get them to view the Sanctum and our rebuilding of their nearest city a good thing. We aren't just coming in to conquer and kill the innocents."

There was a brief nod towards the pair and Kaida. They would be going in separate areas to patrol the land. Delila took off with a few soldiers on her own. The group was mainly lagging behind, allowing the redhead to have some quiet time. She was crouching in some brush, observing a herd of beasts a distance away when her comm crackled. Jorus.

"Do we have to be in agreement? I was a terrible leader. Couldn't lead a bantha to water." Delila looked at the signet ring adoring her finger. "Well....the Sith are back. They got somethin' to fight."

[member="Delila Castillon"]

"Not sure we need to agree, General-" He threw in the title to annoy her, mostly. "-but it's not so much the Sith they're after as it is everyone else they don't like. They're hitting targets in Republic space, even. 'Sticking it to the man.'" He snorted, stood from behind the rock, and put a flaming shockwave through someone's day, worsening considerably. Concussion shell in one barrel, incendiary in the other. "Just wondered if you'd heard of them having any value apart from that. 'Course, I'm getting it from my sister, who just put a bounty out on their leader, so you could say I'm in need of some perspective."

[member="Jorus Merrill"]

Delila growled a little at the General title. She was still crouching along in the grasses and brush. An eye went to the scope of her blaster. The redhead could have sworn she saw movement that wasn't a herd of animals. She listened to Jorus while watching, waiting. Unlike what many thought she could be patient when needed. Delila was a lot of things people didn't give her a second glance for.

"Stickin' it to the man? Didn't we go sorta terrorist at one point o' another?They sound more extreme though...if your sister put a bounty on 'em. Can't say I know too much about them. Can't say they have any real value."

Eye still down the scope, Delila saw it. Groups were using the animals as cover. Bingo. Adjusting her position,Delila sighted her enemy and quickly dropped one. The animals and raiders both started to panic.

Pushing into the town was less eventful than one might think, as Siobhan found while she was directing the Firemane task force from her lofty position in the air. The prisoners she had taken earlier were now being herded in one of the less ruined buildings that the mercenaries had taken over. Plenty of other natives had joined them after it became clear that their slugthrowers and medieval swords were simply ineffectual, especially after Siobhan had cleared a roof by crushing all their archaic guns.

Words of wisdom of the day: Never bring a bolt action rifle to a battle against soldiers who have actual modern armour and laser weapons. It never ends well. And if you use them against folks with bolters then you deserve to be killed just on principle.

Anyhow, since this mission was all about good will, humanitarian aid and that good stuff instead of following in the footsteps of the likes of Hernando Cortez, Francisco Pizarro and Jacob H. Smith the natives who threw away their weapons were taken as prisoner instead of being mercilessly mowed down. After being appropriately frisked and cuffed, they would be taken into captivity. If they tried to flee, it would be futile and not go well for them. Equally if any Firemane soldiers were so foolish to violate the code of conduct they would be punished.

The roar of engines was heard as Silaqui-Class Gunships overflew the city. Not only were they bristling with weapons but also carried loudspeakers urging those natives who still fought to surrender, promising they would be treated well. Likewise speeders bearing mercenaries were shooting across the war-ravaged ground of the ruined city. To be sure, their numbers were far inferior to those of the native fighters, but they more than made up for that in discipline, motivation and firepower.

In any case, all was well on the Planet of the Coreks and then Siobhan got a message something was wrong with [member="Eyrecae Alzari"]. What exactly? Well, that's something for an entirely different thread, but suffice to say the primeval supersoldier had some issues to work through.

[member="Delila Castillon"]

"Well, there was Roon," he admitted. "And that shipyard raid of yours. But we hit people who'd made it their business to hit other people, even if we did get a bit disproportional-"

The rock cracked behind him, and the whine of slugs increased to a frenzy. He hunkered down. "-a bit disproportional at times. Let me know if you hear anything. If they turn out to be worth a hill of beans, might sign on or something. If they turn out to be misusin' the name and in need of some creative personnel reassignments, might power up the guns and go for a walk."

[member="Jorus Merrill"]

"True enough." Delila went quiet as she trained her blaster rifle on the panicking group. Another raider dropped. She fired again but grazed one of the beasts. It only seemed to drive more fear into the animal, trampling a raider as they beasts were making their way for edge of a forest. For cover. Naturally the raiders couldn't keep up with their four powerful legs, leaving them exposed.

"I'll keep you informed. Might do a little poking around in my free time. See what the story is."

As Judah finished his little vision a woman stepped forward for a word. Having no problem with it, he dismissed the architects and engineers to start surveying the land. Measurements, soil and bedrock types, potential storm surge. All boring but extremely important things. No one wanted to spend thousands upon thousands of credits only to be swept away during a typhoon.

"Yes Miss....I'm sorry, I've forgotten your name. What do you wish to speak about?"

Since Judah was busy with the other woman, assistants came to greet one Danger upon her arrival. It looked as if the woman had arrived for a fashion show rather than to survey and decide on designs.

"Miss Arceneau. On behalf of Salacia Consolidated welcome to the proposed site. I am Lenora Flint. Mr.Dashiell is busy at this moment so I hope you will take my company instead. I have been hired as hospitality manager for the new resort. I look forward to your direction for the resort."

[member="Judah Dashiell"]

"Fantastic," Danger would saunter on over, handing her sunglasses over to her assistant. "A pleasure to meet you Miz Flint." she would grant the new hospitality manager with a dazzling smile.

"Tell me, what has been proposed thus far?" Depending on what was on the table, Danger had plenty to add as well.

[member="Danger Arceneau"]

Lenora Flint walked with a datapad in hand at Danger's side. To be honest, much hadn't been discussed but at least the woman had been listening. Right now the engineers were scuttling across the terrain,taking various measurements.

"Well Miss Arceneau, Mr. Dashiell outlined the basic layout. He'd like to have security and hospitality services centrally located. The hotel and residential areas outlying from that. No plans have been finalized. I do believe he waiting for you ma'am. Right now the engineers are doing soil tests and storm surge calculations. You haven't missed much of anything at all."

"Do you have any instructions for me yet Miss Arceneau?"

It did not take long for Kaida and her small group of Eldorai to get ambushed as well while she was traversing the forest and getting a good look of the wildlife. Oh, and there were a couple dead bodies, namely those of the raiders who had attacked before. Needless to say they did not look well after getting iced or blown to bits.

In any case slugs whined and arrows flew through the air. Native raiders were using rocks and animals as cover for their advance. Unfortunately for them they were still using archaic bolt action rifles. Well, the most modern weapon one of the poor fellows had was this Galaxy's equivalent of an MP-18. There was a yellow flash as her lightsabre flew into her hand and ignited. As it happened sabres could block slugs just fine, it just took more effort and focus. At the sight of the unfamiliar energy blade many of the natives turned tail and fled, though some were made of sterner or perhaps more foolish stuff and stayed.

The whine of slugs turned into a frenzy and the natives charged, sending their tamed beasts in first. Then the flat crack of a bolter was heard and there were explosions. Plenty of those, and, panicking the beasts, broke off, in some cases trampling upon the natives. Abruptly a strong, very cold wind tore through the forests, gripping raiders and scavengers alike and sending them flying. Needless to say the impact of being smashed against a tree or into the ground hurt a lot. As in there was the unpleasant experiences of getting bones and ribs broken. Significant blunt trauma can easily cause a jostled rib to puncture a lung. Likewise there was the unpleasant experience of getting trampled on by our own beasts and having your cover blown away.

Danger would find her seat, slipping into a comfy chair only to cross her left leg over her right.

"Are we going green?" came her first question. Eco-friendly was apparently the new thing. Especially if one wanted to keep the natural beauty of the planet untainted.

[member="Danger Arceneau"]

"As you know Miss Arceneau, Mr.Dashiell has been focused on cleaner energy efforts. We have mentioned countless times that the beauty of the planet must also remain as untouched as possible. I am quite new to my station but I see a potential for deep see fishing expeditions, guided snorkeling, planetary excursions. Excellent for the person who has it all. Experience something different."

Lenora paused.

"So yes, I suppose we are going green."

[member="Judah Dashiell"]

Another smile. "Good... " this would be a far more expensive venture, but this was to cater towards the rich and paranoid. They would get their investment back in spades.

She then brought out a small datachip, sliding it into the holoarray. "here are some ideas -- rough designs. "

Lilypad-01.jpg

The first would be a lilypad eco design for coastal areas. By the integration of all the renewable energies (solar, thermal and photovoltaic energies, wind energy, hydraulic, tidal power station, osmotic energies, biomass), Lilypad design can not only durably produce more energy that it consumes, but also process CO2 in the atmosphere and absorb it into its titanium dioxide skin so that it finally reaches a positive energetic balance with zero Carbone emission.

Each of these floating cities is made up of a mixed terrain man-made landscape, including an artificial lagoon and three ridges. It is intended to be either near a coast or float around the world following the ocean currents and streams. Overlooking from the high, Lilypad is just like a huge blooming lily. All its petals can be freely split and composed. Moreover, it will be accessed by three marinas and will also feature three artificial mountains for a change of scenery. The inhabitant won’t feel boring, because Lilypad will feature a variety of locations for work, study and entertainment.

The goal for this design is to create a harmonious coexistence of human and nature. It won’t come true at once though, it will be valuable for the following solutions about climate change.

[member="Danger Arceneau"]

Lenora looked over the design. Now, she had little to no say in what got finalized. Judah Dashiell wanted her invaluable input on things such as layout and what did and did not work in the hospitality industry. Her head cocked, looking over the system and the design. It was very nice. Also very expensive. Its own floating little city. Lenora wasn't quite sure what to say.

"I do enjoy the design Miss Arceneau. Its large....free floating. It can be moved. Change of scenery won't be an issue for the residential guests. The addition of the top space, the park-like area is valuable. Many guests like to jog in the open air rather than use the provided gym. For those with security concerns about the natives of Tabaqui it wouldn't be an issue. Various excursions to land and sea could be taken."

"The undersea portion could be great for guests and residents. Topside could be amenities."
