HYPERLANE INFORMATION
- Hyperlane Name: Tokaido
- Hexes Crossed: 10 hexes (M, 19, 20, 21, 22 - M, 25, 26) through N 23, 24, 27 - O, 28 to P,29
- Start Coordinate: Atrisia P, 29
- End Coordinate: Tiantang M, 19
- Route Points: Sakura M, 26 Asahi N, 23
- Speed: Fast
- Accessibility: Semi difficult, the hyperlane itself is something that was highly protected by the royal family and royal vassals. With only a handful knowing about it and navigational computers having it listed as a restricted file.
- Route Hazards: Requiring a vertical hyperspace jump and to follow navigational beacons. The route bypasses a number of planets and in older days allowed worlds such as Sakura to remain hidden from commoners.
- Rest Stops: N/A
Created by the first Atrisian explorers when they were expanding outwards in the deep core. They discovered worlds that would become colonies near the system but then some far flung ones like Sakura that attracted attention for its beauty. Declared an exclusive location that the royal family would have for themselves and those they wanted to see it. The route to it was changed, instead taking a more dangerous route that if you were even off by a few degrees in the navigational data could have dangerous results.
Once Sakura could be reached the explorers went further finding another world deeper out in the Unknown regions but some of the information from that time is lost. No one knows why they abandoned the planet leaving only the coordinates but no real information. The records for ti were sealed and Atrisian ships with the rare exception granted by the emperor and empress could only ferry to Sakura. The travel time on the route from Atrisia to Sakura was signifigantly reduced as the methods to protect it were a vertical hyperspace jump.
From there navigational beacons would feed the jumps needed to get to the coordinates and they could easily follow a small straightforward path down to the planets. The other plans of the lane were to expand it and connect to the other colonies, to other worlds that Atrisia controlled and keep it as their own secret way of traveling and moving around to avoid the dangerous elements of pirates and known hyperspace routes. THis would increase the security of the royal family and allow them to get around quicker.
IN recent centuries with the dark ages taking away much of the information the world of Asahi was added to it. A colony world but also a ghost world, the Atrisian's didn't have much in the means to retake and colonize it but they could go to it and send teams. Adjusting the navigational data once the Jin themselves revealed their location to the galaxy. The old route was opened again to try and work with the planet to establish trad end have a route through the unknown regions that benefited but didn't really go near major powers.
