Private Tomb Raiding on Korriban

Overseer Wachi released his Force Choke on Daeron almost immediately once Onrai Onrai spoke.

“It’s done,” the Overseer squeezed out of his mouth.

Daeron dropped back to the floor and took a deep breath in. He rubbed his recently released neck. He watched the scene with wide eyes.

“How may I address you?” the Overseer asked while still in Onrai’s grasp.

Wachi’s face was stern. Tense. Pained. Not one of fear, yet the Overseer made no obvious movements to force Onrai to release him.

"'My goddess' will be fine." She sneered angrily at the overseer, barbs withdrawing from his flesh to reveal naught much more than the tears she had inflicted. Onrai looked over at Daeron. "I do believe you have a shuttle to catch. Don't be late." As Daeron reached the door, Onrai paused, perking up for a moment. "There is one last thing that's needs to be done." She said before turning back, darkness of her form immolating the entirety of Overseer Watchi for several seconds. When she withdrew, he had been aged drastically, to a point where he would likely have trouble standing on his own two feet. "Let this serve as a reminder to you, Overseer Wachi, of interfering with a god."

So it was that the manifestation of Onrai dissipated into thin streams of smoke that once more ended up exiting the door, traveling down a hallway before bleeding into an air vent.

Daeron watched with a slight grimace as Onrai Onrai mutilated Overseer Wachi. At the end, Wachi collapsed to his knees and wheezed as he attempted to breathe. Daeron’s eyes caught of glimpse of papers with his name on them – the paperwork Onrai mentioned back in the temple. Without a word, Daeron took those papers and left the Overseer’s office…

Some time after that, Daeron finally made it to the shuttle. All he carried with him was his electroblade and a rucksack containing all his physical possessions. He used the paperwork taken earlier to confirm he was at the right shuttle – then looked around for any sign of Onrai or another soul.

The shuttle door would open and an oddly familiar blonde-haired woman would beckon for him to enter the shuttle. Once he did so and the door was closed, the shuttle slowly beginning its ascent from the floor of the hangar, the woman would speak. "I'm glad to see you were able to make it here. It's not often I get to see someone worth approaching as an acolyte." She replied, offering him a hand. "Onrai. Formerly Vanessa Vantai before my ascension." She said.

This was an unusual circumstance.

Daeron saw the woman as soon as he boarded the shuttle. His eyes widened and twitched as she introduced herself as Onrai Onrai with an extended hand. Even Daeron knew the typical Sith would never perform such a business-like greeting.

After a few seconds delay, Daeron shook Onrai’s hand. Eyebrows furrowed.

Am I your apprentice, now?” Daeron asked with uncertainty.

"Yes. And as such, your journey has begun."

When the two's hands clasped one another, the interior of the shuttle seemed to melt away into the void of space - a void with nothing but the twinkle of far-away stars. There was no lack of breath for Daeron or rush of chills as there typically would have been upon him being exposed to the elements. Were he to look over he would find none were holding his hand, though he was not necessarily unbound, still feeling a sense of some direction being up, down, left, and right within the expanse.

"The reality which you and everyone else lives in is not the reality people believe it may be. Ours is but a microcosm of the grander universe, the Prime Universe. A place where the very nascence of existence waits to be formed into something limited minds can comprehend. The Netherworld, the so-called 'mirror' universe where others parallel our own reality... Even the universe the fallen one known as Akala crafted of this one is nothing compared to such." She said, elaborating plainly to him. "Once the shackles of reality are unbound, one is truly freed and able to act according to their desires, unlimited by the boundaries of what mortals perceive as reality."

Next to him, Onrai appeared in the same guise she had on the shuttle. "I am to many people many forms. The Trandoshans know me as the Scorekeeper. Onrai, my true name, is kept only by the Seoularians. The fire-cultists call me Vahl. The technorganics of Godo know me as the Dancing Goddess. Stellans say I am the Vain Goddess. The first Republic, before it turned away from me, knew me as the Goddess. To the more cthonic worshippers, I am El'Shuddem, the Soulworm, or the Lady with the Locust Heart." Her form shifted into accurate representations of said deities - as faithful as the non-original could be. "I attempted to guide humanity and the other races of the galaxy to freedom of choice. Certain elements did not desire to see me achieve those goals."

Daeron Daeron

Daeron maintained a muted reaction to what he saw and experienced. His head panned around in the apparent void. He listened to Onrai’s story. The mentioning of names from beyond the Korriban Academy.

After Onrai Onrai said all that, Daeron responded with a flat, “I see...

A pause.

Then a question, “And I’m to help you in this?

In Umbris Potestas Est
"Yes." The void transitioned to the charnel realm of Otherspace, to fragmented planets and the shadowed forms of abominations best left unmentioned painted against a twisted canvas of corrupted stars. "And in return, you will have the knowledge of secrets long forgotten, power long abandoned, and understanding long lost." Onrai was doing her best to provide him with what she could.

"The Celestials have abandoned this galaxy, this universe. The Ones were the last until Akala interfered - and she was made one, not born one." The voice of Onrai continued to ring out amongst the stars. "Of those who seek to master this unhelmed domain, the Sith are the closest. The Jedi would allow it to conclude to a natural end, and others have far more malefic intent for the galaxy than our kind."
