Cleaning another form of meditation and the mess around High Plane of the Jedi was big... while they didn't have the numbers they once had... the silver jedi's galactic stage was beautiful and filled with those they recruited. Matsu had solved an age old force formula for finding force sensitives through the Eye of the Grandmaster and being able to recruit them. So the halls were filled with recruits at times and they were... messy as she moved around. THe unassuming maid of the temple helping the cleaning droids. Her personal familiar a Jedi Choushin Vessel was moving around behind the petite jedi with its white fur and some streaks of black and grey.

She had found it peaceful... calming when she was cleaning and moving as the temple itself shifted.. the interior of it using materia to form the floor and walls. Making steps to let her not break stride as she was getting the few particles of dust and cleaning murals. Her senses flaring when she felt something and a group of padawans ran down below her bumping into the materia platform she had and it shifted but her balance was there. Catching herself and breaking her out of her deeper concentration as she was lowered to the ground level. She readjusted her Maid Robes while walking and the gatekeeper of the temple was delivering the afternoon update.

She could see it on her interface and was walking as a message came in for her. The system filing it as important. "Very well." She said it with a small look on her face reading it and adjusted where she was going setting the automated cleaning droids to finish her duties when she moved towards the Krampus chamber. "Welcome master jedi." The technician was setting it and giving her the place she needed to go. "We have the coordinates from the grandmaster, potential recruits and problems but there isn't a team going." She bowed, the petite atrisian with some scars on her darker skin and her hair perfectly maintained along with her uniformed robe. She touched the pack on her hip that had her slicesaber in it and spoke. "It will be alright, the force will guide me and besides no one attacks a maid."

She said it with a smile on her face and was heading into the chamber as it launched her, the coordinates important but it couldn't retrieve people yet.. only one direction as the high plane sent out the tight beam towards the galactic plane and it narrowed down more and more towards the world. The blink of an eye slowed down as she traveled quickly.. her ears opping from the change in pressure but she was able to see more of it arriving in an open field. Her hands going to her front and adjusting her outfit so she looked proper while she clasped her hands in front of herself walking forward.

Banas. A planet in the Outer Rim. A cold world, prone to snow, where yet even the grass grows.
Unfurled amid the span of white land and the ice flanking the sides was spread red green grass.
Tundra, limited vegetation, short shrubs hindered by frigid temperatures—yet an ever vivid land.
Slabs of stone dotted the scope, rocks to evoke the home so strong, there where the wind blows.

Frozen soil surrounds this ground of barren plant life, giving rise to mountains that stab the sky.
Open above them, streaked in white, that welkin with rays of snowflakes and spells of blizzards.
These mountain ranges that escape that glade of tundra yet guard it, and tower beyond the eye.
A natural fortification, but one had to be brave to face them, for they may kill with just a whisper.

In the midst of the tundra, nestled in the middle, a haven in a place far away, is another structure.
A collection of edifices closer together, of towers different, and blocks beyond the rocks around.
Not made by the land but made by hand; the hands that gathered, joined, toiled with each other.
Years ago, from there to here, those nomads who had sought shelter—and in turn built their town.

Cradle was the name of this very settlement, small and humble, yet walled, standing tall and proud.
Fit to live in, fitted with the fittings and amenities of a town; housing, buildings of infrastructure.
Metal and duracrate of white brown, almond or wheat, those structures beneath white clouds.
There was the butcher’s, courthouse, hospital, school, power plant, and others to live under.

Beside the public starport was The Pale Rider, a cantina deemed by many to be another home.
It was where the residents went to unwind after a hard day’s work, or visitors who come and go.
There weren’t many of the latter, but on occasion came the odd adventurers, in a group or alone.
Some came for trade, whether commodities or information, and one came to learn—and to know.

A man who looked like he was merely sitting down for a drink at an otherwise empty table.
Grey cloak, traveling garbs to ward against cold and snow, here for more than mere fables.
He discovered that a group of adventurers had gone on an expedition into those mountains.
Searching for rumored artifacts; some as trained explorers, but others of family with children.

Seeking treasure. Desperate enough to brave the weather. The man thinks while sipping his drink.
A cup of mead, soothing, not too sweet, reflecting on the greater danger the higher the peak.
Watching, listening, waiting patiently for a local who advised the prospectors where to climb.
One who traded information, and knowledge was what Yondir Fenn sought as a Jedi Knight.

The beauty of the world didn't escape her... snow but signs of more. Fields within it... stones and the hum of life on the air. Her walking barely making a sounds as she was of many looking around. A smile on her face while she observed it and her robes were not entirely looking like they were made for this environment... but the enhancements to them and the material regulated her in the cold so she was comfortable. The unassuming look might bring about ruffians or thieves if there was such a thing but she did have jedi skills to fall back on and credits as needed to be able to give out. Bribes was a nasty word but thieves usually had a reason and were desperate.. some weren't but others were.

The place she found in the distance was nice enough when she arrived and she stood near one of the residents who noticed her... he looked down and the down some more... being the smallest of the family aside from children wasn't always great aside from them being unassuming to her and she was just a maid... she cleaned things she wasn't a fighter... but he didn't seem to judge on some things. "You get ditched with no clothing little one?" He asked it and she debated for a heartbeat how best to answer... she wasn't going to be snippy or rude as she just nodded and moved her hands up to her shoulders and rubbed them.

"Looks like frostbite." He moved to help her and produced his cloak wrapping it around her and she thought about it for a moment and then remembered... her fingers. Cybernetic and black casing as replacements and if you weren't looking to close likely seemed frostbitten while he was guiding her through the streets and in the massive cloak to a building. Taking her inside as the air changed... more scents, warmth and the smell of both people, drinks and some food. He took her over to one of the seats and effortlessly lifted her up while leaving the cloak around her shoulders and it went down to the floor.

"SOmeone ditched her in the fields with nothing on." He said it and there were some looks as the small bronzed skin atrisian must have looked like a small child in the heavy and thick cloak but she bowed her head bringing a small pouch from her belt with credits to make sure there was payment as something steaming was placed in front of her. Then some soup. "Drink it slowly and get warm... we'll see about trying to get you something your size." She bowed her head in thanks while speaking. "I came from the jedi." She said it and didn't say an order... she hadn't a visible saber as her slicesaber was more akin to a whip in flexibility and placed the credits. "My thanks."

Patrons in any cantina weren’t so different in the way they behaved—drinking, chatting or laughing.
Miners in a corner, hugging and singing, a loner at the bar, looking languid amid others rambling.
They didn’t have to be drunk to have fun. Yondir knew that much, but intoxication wasn’t for him.
He was content to just sip, listen, reach out, sense one presence over the next, as one walked in.

A small figure, somehow smaller with the cloak that garbed her, more escorted into the cantina.
Other eyes turned to her, including the bartender, corner chanting dying down, and it was done.
Others continued on, oblivious, singing ensued, but one man listened to the other man’s voice.
That he found this female figure in the fields, then he set her down, ignoring the cantina noise.

At first, Yondir simply observed, glad that this man acted with compassion and warmed that girl.
Robed her, took it a step further by offering her food. They conversed, with Yondir’s ears attuned.
Then something changed, like a wind whispering on his skin, comforting, not cold, not false, true.
Two strangers in the galaxy in a remote location, a man and a woman, but from the same world.

Jedi. He heard it and was already determined to confirm it. Were they in a temple then no matter.
In this town, it was just unusual enough to warrant more conversation, so Knight Fenn stood up.
A Jedi of few words, some said, and Yondir had spoken to no one to introduce himself as one.
When the woman spoke the word, her rescuer could only wonder amid the cantina’s chatter.

“You are Jedi?” Yondir spoke to her plainly, his countenance emotionless and his tone like stone.
Not harsh, not sharp, but deep and unmoving. His question was yet posed with a deeper feeling.
A unique meaning in the Force as he opened his door for her to sense his own Force signature.
If she could, she would, and him for her. Further, the other man sensed this wasn’t his element.

“Keep the credits, miss,” he assured her. “I’ll see about those clothes. You will watch her…sir?”
Yondir nodded, lips rigid, neither smile nor frown, but his gesture was gentle, his eyes yet firm.
“May I?” He gestured toward the chair at the girl’s table and would pull out to set himself down.
No need to hesitate, the man gazed upon her face, eyes into eyes. “I am Yondir Fenn. Jedi Knight.”

He let their situation sink in, curious.

“What is your name? Your condition?”
Found in the fields, whether frostbitten.
Easy to sense there was yet more to this.

She listened to the sounds of people talking, some in merriment.. they ahd stopped seeing her but went back to it... it was interesting sure but not something that they needed to really know about. She turned looking at the man who approached and looked at him offering a bow of her head. "Yes, I am Ikki, maid in the jedi temple. The grandmaster sent me here to find potential recruits she detected on the world." She said it and looked at him for a moment before remembering the comment about frostbite and she looked at her fingers. "Oh they are cybernetic." A bow of her head and she gave the demure look of one who remained in the background. "I just did not want to seem rude to his concern."

She said it and looked at the man.. the jedi knight and there was no records of him in their database... among the silvers. THey had plenty in terms of information but records of people were always tricky as they could come and go between the various orders. SHe though offered the seat there and looked at herself in the cloak. "Please join me, it is good to see that what has been created does work in a way. Though it might need to be refined.... finding force sensitives on a world is vague." She said it with a smile sitting there and took a spoonful. "THis is good, I might need to learn the recipe for when I cook for some of the padawans."

Ikki. A natural name that somehow sounded quaint, sylvan, like a species of tree. Jedi temple maid.
Yondir studied her further, not letting his eyes slip away, barely blinking, listening as she explained.
His brow arced ever so slightly at her comment about her being sent here by her grandmaster. Far away?
He wondered. Maybe out in space. In a ship. There was more than one Jedi temple, from whichever she came.

The topic changed just as quickly as Ikki looked at her fingers, and as cybernetic as they were.
When Yondir asked of her condition, however, he was thinking further of what brought her here.
Why was she found on the ground with nothing on? Ditched in the fields, as that man had said first.
He would get to the bottom of it as his companion got to the bottom of her bowl of soup so served.

Ikki stated ‘what has been created’, raising Yondir’s awareness of this Force-sensitive maid.
Jedi, yet, who claimed herself in so many words as a servant, a scout, finding ones to train.
The potential recruits, a device to find them too; while what was created needed a creator.
“I haven’t eaten here,” Yondir replied plainly. “But the ale is good. So, you said grandmaster?”

Ikki seemed pleasant enough, gentle too, casually drinking her soup, speaking of recipes and Padawans.
“What is this ‘creation’ you further mention?” His question was no less dispassionate as Yondir watched.
He was unique in his own way, hailing from a sylvan plane whether Silver was still the same or long gone.
Yondir Fenn was a Jedi Knight, but the man was still learning of the galaxy, exploring as he moved along.

Beside him, left and right, others are lingering in the tavern, with a few onlookers watching the pair.
Peripheral vision never fails Yondir Fenn, with the eyes of a hawk and the ears of a wolf, as they stare.
He does not sense ill intent, no presence to cause harm or alarm, but now there are two Jedi together.
To some, this could be a problem, particularly in a settlement that kept to itself, but vigilant is a Ranger.

"Yes... the grandmaster of the silver jedi. We were testing equipment for finding force sensitives.... and sending a person there. If it can be perfected her theory is being able to send jedi teams quicker." She bowed her head to that and listened well how do you explain a hyperspace cannon for sending people across the galaxy based off an ancient formula in the sacred jedi texts you needed several super computers to solve.... Fantastical was hard to go with. "It is meant to help with recruitment and discovery.. a way to advance the jedi knowledge of the force." She looked around and while wouldn't be one to drink the soup was good enough.

"It is a gateway... more of a cannon. It launches a person through hyperspace towards coordinates. You just step in and are there quickly enough but aiming it and getting to a place is a little difficult and we were not certain of the environment." She said it but looked at him and then her outfit... "Though it is nice to know the people here are kind to strangers." She bowed and was happy to thank them again while she was finishing the soup for herself. Then she moved off of the seat and stood in front of him... and then she backed up a little to look up as he was more then a foot taller then her and easily seemed three times her size.

The petite maid bowed though while using her more demure looks to seem smaller and less like she took up space. "IF you wish, I can explain further but to bore these lovely people with such conversation might raise eyebrows." She said it and clasped her hands in front of herself while remaining in the cloak but offered a smile.

The Grandmaster of the Silver Jedi. Of course. Yondir had served in that order before, if no longer.
Time ago, when the stars were right, but his were wrong, so the Jedi and the Knight wandered.
Aimless, maybe, trekking through space suddenly so empty, so vacant, whose dust was ancient.
His counterpart speaks, that woman, that maid, that Jedi of the Silver Order, but his is nameless.

She speaks of equipment, he listens, his gaze is given, but his brain is distant, mind wondering.
A Knight, but an underling under sun and moon, not quite a rogue but almost, of another dream.
No. A voice tells him to let go, the whisper in his head, as Yondir focuses on the woman’s speech.
A Sephi, but of a world beyond worlds, ever calling him home, and yet his is ever out of reach.

Force-sensitives, equipment tests, a theory to perfect and Jedi to send, for knowledge and for recruitment.
The man sitting before her simply stared, still as stone, as if a statue, but absorbed her words into his head.
Like the countenance of a mountain, his was hard to read, yet his curiosity peaked toward what she meant.
Gateway... Through hyperspace... To be launched across a plane, like a blast from a cannon, from end to end.

Is that how I might find them? Despite the potential for the Jedi in full, his motives were selfish in that moment.
Focus broken by his companion who just then rose from her chair to stand there before him, without motion.
Sensing she intended for a change in scenery, Yondir stood up as well, as she backed up to take his stature in.
She seemed so small and delicate in comparison, but he further sensed power in her, that of determination.

Ikki bowed, Yondir stood still, considering conversing further elsewhere. It was indeed a sensitive topic.
Whether others intended to watch them and listen to their discussion, dropping eaves, it was too risky.
The device the Jedi spoke of, whether yet to be refined, was too giant a tale for ears of the dishonest.
Eyebrows were already raised their way, especially for the entrance the maid had made, gazes shifty.

“I actually came here to meet with someone,” Yondir remembered. “A local with information.”
Though he had yet to come in. He may be late. “You mentioned being sent to find sensitives...”
He caught himself, glancing around their surroundings. There was a second floor above them.
Mostly for overflow, with most folks below. Sometimes it was that simple. Staircase on the left.

“Follow me.” They could both explain and elaborate further at a more isolated table within the tavern.
Amid music, eating, drinking, laughing, singing and conversing of others, unlikely they would be heard.
She could take the soup, he could take a drink, but Yondir’s hands were empty as he climbed the stairs.
A table sat alone by a banister, providing a view of the main entrance, while Yondir pulled out a chair.

At least this way they would not have to talk in the cold outside air while he could still watch for his contact.

“I came to this world in order to explore; to escape, in a sense, though I did not come by any webway gate.”
Ikki did, or rather something of one. Whatever it was, she had Yondir’s attention once again, locking his gaze.
Her tale, more important than his, which mattered little until the local’s arrival, kept within peripheral vision.

SHe could see he was different... well not in a bad way he contemplated a lot more then some she had met which wasn't bad... only a problem if he overthought in situations that endangered immediate lives but... they didn't have someone with a weapon drawn. His thoughts were also likely on the information she was giving and the second floor would do well for discussion in private. He was waiting for someone so they couldn't abandon his goals just because she was here... a nod of her head would have her moving to follow him and she looked around at some of the others taking in their outfits and how they were all looking with a nod of her head.

She moved up the stairs and to the table looking at the entrance and other people who were down there. A bow of her head when she sat down and her toes were on the floor. Exploring, escaping were things she knew... kind of though escape for her and him might be different things but she thought about it. "And if I may ask? Have you found what you searched for?" He didn't say an object but the sense of adventure could be what he was looking for or something more internal. A look at him and she started taking in a few more details like his ears and he was a jedi or was... he seemed distant with it but unlike others he wasn't hiding from the force.

"Not many would, my talents are in navigation and knowing how to make my way so I was more ideal. The Grandmaster might have worried but we are jedi, we can be worried and fearful but should look to rise above it and inspire others." She said it and looked at the man offering a nod. "How long have you not been among the order?" She didn't know which one he had been in there were several at one point and smaller ones people made when they branched off enough... it could become tricky enough as they would all be able to move around the galaxy. She knew several herself and each government made their own usually with people intermingling between orders muddying loyalties.

In truth, Yondir had not expected her to ask, to follow up his statement with a question about it.
He did not intend to make conversation about his past or his present, instead pressing for hers.
He entered this planet of Banas in a starship, but her method was a gift, one he wished to learn.
Nevertheless, she deserved an answer, however brief. “No.” He said simply. “Not yet, I will admit.”

The search is forever, he thought but did not tell. The road goes ever on and on. Whether near or far.
The adventure and the journey were much the same, just as often were different, but there he was.
Yondir Fenn, a Jedi Knight of the galaxy, a Ranger from a moon too, alone as he traveled the stars.
From here to there, there and back again, he wasn’t so alone at this table, where gathered stardust.

Two Jedi in a remote location; a town that folk would know about but otherwise unpopular.
As if they were just two entangled particles in the midst of cosmic mist, this Ikki and Yondir.
A man’s mind can wander but he doesn’t let it, ever attentive despite his given distractions.
He had that innate ability, to think and dream, to live in memory and reality, sea and ocean.

Again, Ikki speaks, and while not often given to physical gestures, Yondir responded with a nod.
He agreed with her, that Jedi can experience fear, but they did not give into it, had to be strong.
Sith, they were different, for they gave in, flirted with darkness, burned beside it, and were lost.
Like a tree above the earth, however, Jedi rose above emotions, chosen within the light’s bond.

Temptation was a test, of which a number of Force-sensitives failed, but the Force did not forget.
This Sephi had faced his own, both in his home and on the frontier, and he could ever remember.
He did just then, when Ikki asked him of his time without the Order, whether his was that of Silver.
It was a pointed question, beckoning him of his absence. She could surely sense his displacement.

“Some time,” he answered vaguely, looking away, when usually he would look another in the eye.
“Yet I am still Jedi,” he offered as if to reassure, penetrating her pupils with his own, if not so wide.
“I have chosen the light side yet there is another light I must find.” A bit cryptic, he’d admit that too.
“Enough about me,” he waved away. “Tell me more of this gateway.” He blinked. “Tell me about you.”

SHe listened and the way he spoke was more... would the word be profound... he seemed to think more the smallest brush with the force showed racing thoughts... a mind working on more then just instinct.. it was a good sign... his words about still being jedi were different but she didn't need to ask for more on that. If he was teetering or fallen she doubted he would be this... conversational. The few ones who were in the dark tried to bring others and steer things towards trying to point out failings. She nodded to him searching for another type of light... it was an ideal maybe or a calling and there was more to being a jedi then being in a temple.

"Me...?" She said it with a small smile debating how he wanted her to react... it was an interesting thing but she internally shrugged to herself. Offering a look at him and she kept her eyes on him with a small hint of humor. "I am just a maid in the jedi order, I clean the halls, I serve food with the droids, I care for the babies in the creche who have been brought to the temple or born within." She said it while moving her fingers and retrieving her slicesaber from her belt as she held her hands up and turned it on. The thin white light appearing like a glimmer more then a solid line as it was super thin.... "And sometimes when needed I protect while others are away."

She looked at him and slipped the slice saber back but remained there. "Technically others are not supposed to know about it. After the incident where temple staff was taken hostage and the temple sealed by oh what was his name... he was a sith but... he had long silver hair and mostly only was around for the reborn triumvirate on ruusan. With Maya helping them they locked down the temple and threatened too many civilians so my cousin she is the grandmaster now but not then asked me to use my skills for service to make sure it wouldn't happen again. There are a couple other jedi masters who work similar positions and use it as a sort of mental break from the orders duties but they are still able to be jedi and help out."

She seemed hesitant to answer his question, or was it just shyness that Yondir sensed within her?
As if oblivious to her senses, he would only stare, his lips a rigid line against her own as they turn.
Spread, from corner to corner, subtly if not watching closely, given this woman’s graceful features.
Youth was in her visage, it reminded the man of himself back on his moon, with all of its creatures.

The Sephi were only one entity on that world. As one such being himself, he had lived long years.
However, in comparison, his age was likely not much greater than the woman sitting before him.
Her shoulders shifted with her cloak, offering him her amusement to his question, if only a hint.
It was clear she was more expressive than him, yet reserved in a manner, whispering in an ear.

Her voice ought to be as small as her figure, but there was power in her tone, he would not deny.
Just a maid… It was no lie but neither was it the whole truth. That much was true within her light.
That which emitted from an object, not quite a lightsaber; may even explain her cybernetic fingers.
She appeared to be practiced with it, revealing further she was a defender, with her own glimmer.

Whether a warrior, it was not unheard of and she would not be the first maid trained in combat.
After all, there was a reason she was chosen to serve as herald and recruit potential prospects.
Yondir followed her fingers as she sheathed her saber, gaze lingering on her face as if to dissect.
Rather, it was her words he picked apart; Sith and Ruusan, master, grandmaster, cousin at last.

I see. That explains some things. “You are a Jedi Master.” Less of a question if more of a statement.
“Cousin to the Grandmaster of the Silver Order.” More acknowledgment, less in celebration of it.
One benefit of being this sensitive in the Force was that this lady did not appear to be dishonest.
Yondir had not seen this bridge she claimed to come from, though he saw no lie for her to profit.

“If this gateway through hyperspace does as you say, it needs to be protected.”
Again, affirmation to her position, while yet wondering why she would trust him.
To her, he was a mere stranger, claiming to be a Jedi. Perhaps she too senses it...
Whatever Jedi order may say, he didn’t believe in fate, but the Force above him.

“So, you are here to search for Force-sensitives and offer them for the Order.”
If this device was used to guide others to the light side, it was a worthy cause.
Ever curious of its function, design, that cause was more important to Yondir.

“You said targeting the location is difficult which might explain this very spot.”

He gestured an arm toward the tavern, the town, the very lands surrounding.
It was rare enough for two Jedi to be found within a settlement like this one.
Perhaps this spatial plane sent her to a general area around both beings.
Coordinates less precise, for in Force she was unlikely to find someone.

Yondir’s thoughts were interrupted just then as he spotted one man enter.
Yet he didn’t fit the description of the one whom he had been waiting on.
The man looked around, looked up, spotted the table with Ikki and Yondir.
Climbed the stairs, paced over, offered both hands to the one he sought.

“Hello again, miss. Hope you’re feeling better and warmer. Here you are.”
A bundle of clothing was presented to Ikki, warm as a cloak, not as large.
Whatever her response, the timing was of coincidence, while Yondir stared.
Another man entered, fitting the description, to in turn be bidden upstairs.

"THe gateway is not here. it is in the main temple... it so far only goes one way. We will be able to send a jedi or a team in theory and we will be able to send in ships to retrieve them afterward." She said it and listened as he went over what she said and nodded as he confirmed it for himself. Her attention went to the door and the man who had greeted her as he came and offered her clothing and she bowed. "THank you." Shrugging out of his cloak and into the smaller one with a look at it. Good for her size and she imagined it was a childs size. It was a nice gesture and she thanked him. Clasping his hands and bowing while she slipped some credits for his trouble and to help him out.

Then there was another man coming in and towards them as she looked up at him for a moment but offered a bow of her head. MOtioning for the man who had brought her the clothing to come with her so Yondir can speak in private and she would be able to answer more of his questions in a moment while she looked out one of the windows up high. Being able to see the village. "This village is beautiful." The man seemed to beam at that and pride when she was checking over a few other things. She expanded her senses out while she was tanding there and slipped the rest of the clothing on with a little privacy for a moment using the cloak.

"THank you miss." Ikki remained looking at some of it and spoke. "The rest of the world is it all like this?" He seemed to be looking at her and wondering as there was a shrug. "South it gets warmer and near the oceans it will change more. Hotter days, harsh sun and more people but they have more fighting.... bigger towns though." Ikki nodded, a major population center would accomplish her goal faster given she could likely find ones who felt the force but that would neglect the ones like this.. the ones out of the way you only found by searching and those were the ones who usually surprised you."

"Hmm it might be nice to see but I like the idea of traveling around a little." He nodded. "You might want to get a pack for some food and supplies if you are going to do that and I would recommend a bodyguard. There are thieves and you look lite enough for my kid to pick up." He said it and she didn't detect any sort of derision... he wasn't saying she couldn't do it he was only explaining dangers there while she looked at him and nodded. "Then my jedi protector here will have to provide goodies." She said it and motioned to the other man allowing the man to laugh and she laughed with him. She might have to check his son but she wasn't here to steal children she was here to recruit those with potential.

The man had come back just as he said he would, returning with better layers of clothing.
Small town kindness. Was that the phrase some used? To Yondir, it was simply courtesy.
There was never enough of it and never too much; a stoic that he was, he appreciated it.
Ikki took the garments, peeled back her cloak as Yondir promptly looked into the distance.

“Someone ditched her in the fields with nothing on.” That’s what that man had earlier said.
When they first arrived into the tavern with this young woman beside him, lacking threads.
She seemed careful as she exchanged one garment for the other and got herself dressed.
Nevertheless, it wasn’t the Jedi Knight’s place to glimpse what lies beneath, not just breast.

If the man could blush, he might have just then. Instead, craning his head, he thought again.
Ikki stated the gateway was at the temple. Made sense but more than it needed protection.
The location, its very existence, needed to be protected by way of secret; it had to be kept.
They might not know each other, but they would learn, and keeping true was his intention.

With the arrival of the second man upstairs, suddenly the table grew from two and to a group.
As Yondir collected his thoughts, Ikki had already gotten up, offering her own courtesy to him.
In truth, the nature of his conversation was not so private, though he had not yet told her of it.
While she busied herself talking with her helper, the other sat down to the table with his brew.

“Hope I didn’t interrupt anything,” he spoke genuinely, taking a sip of amber beer.
“You did not,” Yondir assured. Not one for small talk, he cut straight to the chase.
“You are a trader. An adventurer.” Again, acknowledging aloud was just his way.
The man nodded. “You provide guides, advise others on the mountains near.”

“Aye. The mountains can be treacherous, believe me, but hikers like some danger.”
“One group who passed through, if not others before them, they were on a search.”
“Oh, for more than rock and snow, aye.” He wiped froth from his lips. “For treasure.”
Treasure. The lure of fortune. That chase could be a dangerous game, he discovered.

Glancing to the side, spying Jedi Master Ikki, thinking back to her own prize in the galaxy.
“Artifacts, as I have it,” the trader continued, trading information as offered. “Of a nature.”
“What kind of artifacts?” The man hesitated, perhaps due to this would-be interrogator.
Yondir was not, but that's his own nature. “Ancient relics, bones, gems—a whole gallery.”

He shrugged, clarifying. “All sorts of stories in these lands. Of a fallen civilization and more.”
Stories generally included myths and fables, it was known. “Tales of amulets for the Force.”
There it was. Yondir cocked a brow. “Of Jedi or Sith?” The man shook his head. “Not sure.”
Could be either. Could be both. “Which way did they go?” The man showed him the door.

The rest of the conversation ended with an exchange of geographical data and of local lore.
There wasn’t a great deal of either, the mountains largely uncharted, and history all but lost.
Yondir paid the man, the latter went on his way, and the former waved Ikki to sit as before.
He mentioned earlier she was unlikely to find prospects in this town—not exactly wrong.

There might yet be a child in some house just waiting to be found, for the Force was everywhere.
Yet, he had a feeling of what might have drawn Ikki to this place as he briefed her then and there.
Yondir recapped his conversation, adding to it. “I’m not certain what you’ll find in this settlement.”
He sighed. “Or of my senses. For better or worse, the Force may be at work in those mountains.”

He may be wrong, sometimes a feeling was just a feeling, and it was up to a Jedi to interpret it.
Then again, his counterpart's coordinates had taken her here, with rumors of unknown artifacts.
Two Jedi in the same faraway town, which may yet house this Jedi Master's pursued prospects.
Maybe in a city further away, but Yondir made up his mind. "Will you join me as I search them?"

She waited and when he motioned her back she bowed to the man. He left with a look at the pair and well Yondir being a jedi might have surprised him but he didn't seem phased... more natural she had learned as some of the more outer villages SHe listened to what he said and it could have been why she was here... potential artifacts, mysteries were what made the jedi life exciting after all and she bowed her head. "I would be honored to accompany you." A smile on her face and she kept her eyes on him for it as he was including her in his endeavor and quest when he seemed more a solitary one for now at least. He might be a social butterfly when around other jedi.

"I am ready when you are the man recommended supplies but I do have rations in my belt and a built in pack for my equipment." She said it while checking a few things mostly her gloves when she looked at them and used them to have access to her slicesaber but also they were nice and comfy for the weather. "Finding and exploring ruins is always a good way to find artifacts... or other treasure hunters. If there is local lore about it we might want it if only for comparison... even a story told and retold has truth to it." She kept a warm smile on her face when looking around and she hadn't forgotten her mission but she needed to think of a good approach to asking people if they wanted to be tested to become a jedi.

Their goals differed but not their desire to find. She searched for newcomers, he searched for answers.
The Knight would so often go alone, a lone Ranger as Yondir was known back home, but times differed.
It made more sense to bring a companion, a Jedi at that, and one of whom there was yet more to learn.
Hopefully, working together would be its own reward, both Jedi having something to offer each other.

“We can stop at a shop and pick up supplies.” It was a good idea, especially given those mountains.
Yondir had his own equipment on him, more of it in his ship, but certain types needed to be purchased.
The settlement did have its uses; whether it held Force-sensitives, the Jedi Master might yet unearth them.
“Your recruits could be among those treasure hunters, whatever the treasure.” Waiting amid rock, surrounded.

A story told and retold has truth to it. Wise words, he couldn’t help but recite them in his head.
A story, after all, was what had led him here, after a rumor. “If not, I vow to help you find them.”
Assistance would be their shared sentiment. Between their endeavors, time was of the essence.
Rumors of treasure may prove to be nothing, but an object in the wrong hands was a threat.

One is lonely, two is company. Another story, a poem from long ago, something his mother said.
“Let us begin.” With that, Yondir Fenn rose from the table, led them out of the tavern and ahead.
They acquired what they needed from the general store, from food and drink to hiking equipment.
Already garbed in his grey cloak and armor, Yondir further donned a backpack for the expedition.

It was cold outside, not freezing, but those mountains were capped in snow and another story.
According to the information on his datapad, the hiking routes were too narrow for a starship.
Nevertheless, Gallant, Yondir’s two-passenger scout ship, would take them closer to the base.
Across the plains, such as they were, the vessel flew, finding a spot in the mountain range.

Standing in the open air, the colossal rock loomed all around, presented in dark grey hues.
A frigid breeze wrapped around the man, tugging his cloak while he kept his eyes glued.
Further up, a mist obscured vision toward the peaks; black rock bound in white streaks.
We build cities on worlds. Yondir marveled. But worlds build mountains. A superior feat.

He pulled out his datapad and produced a map for both to view.
They had only a general area to search in; winding, and steep too.
“We may face a chain of caves,” he pointed. “Might take a climb.”
Overall, the paths varied, no telling which way. “It will be a hike.”

She nodded as they had a chance to begin.. getting some supplies and she checked her supply pack... built into her outfit with the thigh pouch as she went through it and her belt. A survival kit she could use and plenty of rations as well as her hydration canteen. She was checking some of the other parts of her outfit for the equipment with exploring in the ship... it was cozy in its way... scout vessels usually smaller and tighter quarters but smaller is better as he flew into the mountains. With her equipment and clothing ready the jedi maid offered a small grin and nod. Going towards the doorway when they arrived and the mention of a hike was one thing.

"Hiking is fun, best way to stay fit and who knows what sights we will be able to see." She said it while looking around and breathing in the cooler air... it came out as she blew it and made a long line of steam from her breath. SHe grinned though while securing her pack and clasped her hands on the straps of it. Making sure the material would hold good enough. Before she was looking over at Yondir though she was wondering what there was and expanded her senses outwards... searching for the feelings of the force and letting herself be one with the planet itself while she closed her eyes. A moment and then a second while prepared for it.

Master Ike proved to be no less than enthusiastic of the quest ahead of the both of them.
“Indeed,” Yondir expressed. Snowdrops drifted onto his chest as mist seized his breath.
“These mountains are…impressive...” An understatement as much as one of repetition.
Yet, where such colossal constructs were similar all over, these deserved recognition.

There was something about them, beyond their dark rock, or the snowdrift so serene.
So cold, yet tranquil, that frozen blow from a giant’s hill, as the wind moved like a thief.
A sudden gust of it, as if those peaks were welcoming them above. Or telling us to leave.
The mountain breathed, but so did he, and so did she. Yes, each Jedi breathed so as to see.

“I sense…” Yondir spoke with eyes closed. “...West…” Yet he did not sense a presence.
No life signs dead ahead, tracks or treks, but rather the movement of wind, its essence.
The sight of the Force could be much and more like a radar, hand in hand with the map.
Further, it provided a sense of direction that no datapad could, guiding those very hands.

“There.” Yondir pointed forward. “Toward that gap.” A narrow path between two rock slabs.
The mountain’s flanks at that, allowing a person or two to travel without much more room.
According to the map, it could prove to be a shortcut, if dangerous, beside another route.
“It’s tight. There’s another way, wider, more winding.” Looked at her. “What shall we do?”

She stood there and was looking upon the mountains themselves... it was beautiful as she breathed it in and moved. Her eyes approaching and checking on everything that they had... Yondir was with the sense of direction... and she did as well but it was fun to try things the old way... winging it... when you could use the force to have your direction and path chosen for you it wasn't nearly as good. She walked with him and she was looking at it... she was looking at it and agreed. "It is beautiful." The pathway led them around and she was reaching out with her senses.. the mountains were quiet in many ways.

'There' He spoke and Ikki looked at the area he was indicating. a narrow path and she looked at him when he mentioned that it would be a tight fit. The petite jedi starred at him for a moment wondering if he thought she would not be able to fit through..... She was fun sized after all and could be thrown into some of the places others wouldn't be able to reach. "I say we go for it... You don't get to be this size and not fit into the small places." She said it offering a smile when she was looking at it and rolled her shoulders moving into the narrow pathway and using her small size to get through. She looked where they could go and was being careful while her senses were for the area around..

"Upside.... I can fit most places.... downside this would be the best chance for some creatures that would want to try and attack us." She nodded but was squeezing through where she could see and crouched down lower allowing herself to squeeze into a slightly larger area. She looked around and held a hand out with the force to push and move to allow some things to get out fo the way and make it so that they would be able to get through.

So, they would head west, and they would take the narrow path; their chosen route of two.
Then again, it was a best guess; the Force didn’t show them the full way for them to move.
The Jedi Knight was guided by his feelings and he would trust his judgment, yet also hers.
West was their direction to head in, a foundation for their journey, if with uncertain turns.

“You are indeed rather small,” Yondir agreed with her in turn, standing taller. “Master.”
Ikki Ike was not his master but still a master. It felt right to respect her with his words.
At that, the pair moved as one, approaching the vast bastion of mountainous stone.
Narrow in the location dead ahead though; a gap whose other side was unknown.

“We shall keep alert for such predators,” he offered Ikki as she led the way for them.
Of smaller stature, her size proved to be an advantage, while Yondir faced his test.
He moved slower, lowered his head, navigated sideways, rock pressing his chest.
Clearing that surface, he moved onward, securing footing and reserving breath.

At first, he wondered if this was the entrance to a cavern not charted on the map.
“Do you feel that?” It was the wind but as if they were already in a cave. A draft.
Yondir’s partner would see it before he did. They ventured further into the gap.
Then it ended, with jagged sheets opening for the view of a great valley path.

Yet, it was no simple path. They passed the gap now at their back for a cliff.
Cliffs beside cliffs, to be precise. They flanked either side of a great abyss.
The ground was still narrow; one wrong step and either would plummet.
On the other side of the fissure, the gorge had an almost mirror image.

The open wind once again tickled Yondir’s skin, fridge against his face.
He was garbed in an outfit well suited to temperatures such as these.
Truth be told, he welcomed it. This was not a warm forest with trees.
Yet the cold kept him alert while he glimpsed off the edge of space.

“The bottom of this chasm is pitch black,” he confirmed.
“Watch your step. Falling may lead to death.” He assured.
People like them had the Force at their fingertips for support.
It was still a risk he wasn’t willing to take. He preferred the floor.

“Looks like either side winds upward...”
Yondir stepped back from the chasm.
Right as loose rocks were upturned.
He stepped again as they fell past.
