Train to Trouble

The train ride from Anarris to Altiria was a long one, taking a full week to cross the North Pole on the ice bridges that the harsh winter provided. For centuries the two continents fueded over who was more superior and which name the planet should take. Even though there had been a ceasefire between the two, no one name had been settled upon. Now it all depended on which continent one worked or lived.

Many people preferred the quickness of travelling between the two by air, but for some, the train was the only way to travel. Not only was it cheaper for the of the poorest citizens, it was also a means of transfering prisoners. And for some of the richest citizens, it was a quiet ride of uninterupted luxury among breathtaking scenery.

The map of the train detailed the various sections where housed the rich, the common, the poor and the imprisoned. Each compartment was sealed with blast doors containing complex locks. The security system itself was held in the machine car towards the front of the train, always on guard like the engine was.

The prisoner car was the least favoured car to be on. Even the security guards that looked after all of the train disliked having shifts in that compartment. Not only was it colder and noiser, but it was also at the back of the train. Before each trip, they drew straws, the shortest drawn having to bear the unfortunate task of guarding some of the worst Anarris/Altiria had to offer. Though at times the prisoners being moved came from off world. That tended to call for heightened security.

The luxury cars showcased the finest that the two continents had to offer. No expense was spared, given that the cost per ticket was extremely high. The tastiest foods, full spa, salon, animal exhibits and suits were housed at the front of the train. Not only were they the furthest from the prisoner car for security purposes, but they were closer to the warmth of the engine as well.

The common cars housed what you would expect for regular economy fair. There was a bit of room and some good food. Entertainment was provided as well.

The poorest of the passenger cars were as basic as one could get. There was some heat, some food, but the passengers were left to entertain themselves. And they were the closest passengers to the prison car.

Kay sat in one of the luxury dinner cars with [member="Evangeline Delias"] . The two were on their way back from Anarris after a successful business trip promoting the Sphaera Tea Company and the array of specialized teas and baked goods that it provided. Some could heal, some could kill and others could control. They were coveted by an array of people from crime lords to political figures and everyone in between.

"This is lovely, don't you think? We could relax and maybe come up with more ideas for the company before we're back at the shoppe. I'm sure that [member="Doyle"] has kept himself out of trouble. Usually trouble follows me, but so far this trip has been uneventful." So far. Hopefully she didn't just jinx it for the two of them.

Little did they all know, however, that this trip wasn't going to be uneventful at all....

Talon was in the luxury dining car and waited a fine dinner, he was tired and hungry. He wanted to finish and head back to his cart but he was still waiting. Looking over and he spotted [member="Kay Arenais"] and he truly didn't think much of it. Seeing the server bring his food, it was placed in front of him. Eating it he thought about the people in the car, were they threats? Dismissing the thought he knew he would be safe. Eventually he finished and waited for the server to bring his last drink.

Evangeline found out quickly that she absolutely loved the train ride to Anarris and the train ride back to Altiria. It was fun, exciting, and rather different than a typical flight via air or space. Not to mention, it was quite nice being spoiled with food, wines, and the like.

Nonetheless, Eva settled into her side of the luxury dinner cars. There had to be some arrangements made, naturally, for the larger frame that she brought. Luckily, it didnt' seem to be much of an issue and they were likely use to making accommodations based on species. Either way, the trip had been immensely productive.

Both for her personally, seeing how the Anarrians lived and spending time with [member="Kay Arenais"]. It was a pleasant experience, to say the least.

Her blue eyes watched as the terrain outside the window sped by. Her braided hair was in her hands as she played with the tip. She wore a light blue coat around her lower portions and a blue jacket on the upper part. And some comfy socks around her legs. Comfy and cozy, just the way she hoped to be during their event.

She gave a little nod, "This is nearly perfect," she said with a bright grin. "Thank you for letting me come along, Kay. I'm sure trouble will not find us - not here!" She laughed a little, "I hope [member="Doyle"] hasn't missed us too much."

Lahmia strode into the dining car followed by another. A clamor of laughter carried over from their passage through the train after they'd departed the opium den. "Marvelous. This vessel hath all the comforts of home. I shall procure that-- what didst thou bid it? Opium? Yes, I shall procure this opium for mine crew." For there were aplenty recreational amenities aboard her own ship, and this train went to great lengths to secure the same for its passengers. A thoughtful venture. To think these creatures were only aboard for a week and sought such luxuries. No stamina at all, but Lahmia would not complain aloud of it.

The red skinned woman turned and caressed the cheek of the male that had followed. "Forsooth. That thee but appear tired. There is time yet for us. Freshen up and we shall meet again." Her green eyes sparkled in the light of the dining car. Combined with the warmth of her smile the creature melted in the palm of her hand. It was only a moment before she stood and observed the young one's passing from sight. As much fun as their further company might be, they had not smitten her as a thought as anything more than idle time spent.

Dressed in a dark blue dress with a slit up the left thigh to her hip, the quadruple-horned woman's gaze swept the car. A seat was soon claimed and her left leg crossed atop the right displaying ample leg. When an attendant neared, she met their eyes with a small smile. "Thy meetest wine."

"Forgive me, my Lady?"

The smile didn't wilt nor grow an inch as Lahmia clasped her hands atop the side table. "Thy most expensive wine," she said, choosing other words that did not convey the exact same thing, but were sufficient to the task.

They bowed and scurried off appropriately. It had been said her diction was of an old tongue of 'Basic' -- or the common tongue. Pronunciation and words not used in a great number of generations. Fortunately, there were enough similarities Lahmia managed to get by.

Anjin Tan'Ordo dropped into her seat with a relieved sigh. She had arrived at the station late as always. She hated sprinting. Hated it. And that herd of Ithorians packed around the station directory had been an imposing obstacle. If she hadn't known enough of their language to effectively ask for right-of-way, she would still be standing next to the tracks. Fortunately, the engineer knew her enough to let her skip the baggage check before boarding. She made this trip often, going between school and her antique quadjumper which always seemed to be in the shop. She was on her way to the shop this time to sign off on the recently-completed rebuild of the ship's top starboard engine.
The air inside her helmet was hot so she removed it, using the edge of her sleeve to clear its distinctive T-shaped visor. She looked around at the other passengers. She smiled and waved at the familiar faces, and a few of the unfamiliar ones. She took stock of the different species in the car and silently congratulated herself when she realized she was fluent in each of their native tongues. Her study was paying off. Just a month ago she would have had difficulty communicating with half of the train's passengers without basic. There was value in speaking in a person's native language. A trust and connection that couldn't be achieved any other way.
She looked at the empty seat next to her. It wasn't the seat designated on her ticket. With so little time before the train got underway, it was unlikely someone would come to claim it. It was the window seat. Despite the numerous times she had ridden the train, Anjin couldn't get enough of the view. A look over her shoulder. She settled into the window seat.
It would be a few kilometers before the train cleared the metro. The city views were hum-drum. Best to get some study in. Anjin re-donned her helmet and activated her heads-up display to show a linguistics textbook. A top on her modified earpiece initiated Vode An, a traditional Mandalorian battle chant that helped her think.

Heavy breathing reverberated through the prison car as a monstrous creature stared through a crimson gaze at the men and women who guarded it. Though the car itself housed other prisoners, it was this monstrosity who fueled their every nightmare. A gaze so baleful, even the mightiest of Sith would think to look twice upon seeing the creature, studied any who moved past its small cell. A mix of durasteel and beskar chains bolted into the wall locked it in place to ensure it physically could not strike those who drew near. An inhibitor color bit into its thick, muscled neck, keeping the creatures call on the force at bay. No one knew how or why this monster was caught, but one thing was clear:

It was not to escape under any circumstances.

Three apprentices relaxed comfortably within one of the luxury cars, provided to them by their master. The car itself was graced with a buffet of exotic foods, dozens of tasty beverages and more sweets than even a room full of children could tackle. Though frost clung to the exterior of the train as it sped through the north, the interior of the car was toasty warm. Comfortable blankets were tossed about almost at random to cover the plush furniture that decorated the room. It was a rare occurrence for young Sith to be offered such luxuries during their training. Commonly, Acolytes were expected to persevere through the harshest of environments. This particular trio were fortunate to be granted such comfort. A comfort they most certainly took advantage of in the moments before their mission truly began.

Under order from his master, Trayze Tesar scoured both imperial intelligence and personal contacts to find any evidence of his target. Weeks had gone by before a rumor circulated the imperial chain. A monstrous entity had been captured in Anarris and was to be transferred across the north to Altiria. With the evidence gathered and provided to his master, a plan was hatched in hopes of liberating the train of its unlawful cargo.

A singular, shrill beep caught the attention of the three passengers as a holodevice activated.

A lone individual stepped into view, hands clasped together behind his back. Beautiful black hair cascaded down his back, some braided, some not. He was dressed elegantly in what appeared to be a silken robe, no weapons or armor in sight.

Vaulkhar Zambrano stared silently as the trio gathered around the device. It annoyed him greatly he was held on Bastion to aid his father and the council in war plans, instead of being out in the field. The Sith Lord had built his career on being out and on the front line, not being cooped up in imperial palaces. But times were changing. War with Mandalore threatened the Sith, the Outer Rim Coalition continued their defenses and more than one Silver Jedi had made a habit of standing before the imperial war machine. Any misstep could be deadly for the Sith, so no resources were expanded without careful consideration. Especially those who answer to the Emperor and the Emperor alone.

"Greetings," the silence was broken by the distorted sound of Vaulkhar's voice. "I will keep this quick. At the end of the train, located in the deepest prison cell lies your target. Trayze, located within your pack lies an encrypted device designed to short circuit the inhibitor device somewhere on the target. Your mission is simple enough. Free your target, survive until you reach the evac-site. 19 will be awaiting your signal before arriving at the marked location."

Silence once more as the Sith Lord studied his chosen.

"Good luck."

The transmission cut out, once more leaving the trio to their own devices.

Choo-choo!

A negligent flick of a finger and another piece of candy left the embellished plate full of sweets, jumping straight into her mouth. Lazing about, Funami Teriyaki lay sprawled across several fluffy sheets draped over multiple seats, an oversized pillow under her head. Vocally chewing on the candy, she let her violet sight trail over to the window, thoughts void of any coherency as procrastination lorded over the Sithling. Watching the biting cold rage and whine outside of the luxury car was very relaxing when one happened to be inside, surrounded by wealth and opulence. So much so it had sabotaged any plans for productivity. This was how life was meant to be lived! Purring and stretching her arms and legs, the child watched her toes wiggle inside a pair of white socks and hoped the call into action would never come. Trayze and Kalt, fellow apprentices training under lord Vaulkhar, were probably about. Funami could not be bothered to turn her head and take a look as that would require effort. Two more pieces of candy took off into the air, daringly soaring toward the pink-haired terror and landing in her open maw.

Yummy!

Per usual, the girl was clad in Atrisian school uniform, though this time she looked nowhere near as out of place. The small-statured child with pink hair would easily pass for a civilian, as no visible weapon was present on her person. She yawned and considered taking a nap, but was denied such comfort. A loud, alarming beep and the distorted, pale blue image of her master snapped to life, delivering the Sith lord’s message. It was enough to prompt Funami to cast a sideways glance toward the source of disturbance and, upon seeing the familiar figure, feign activity. With almost inhuman effort, the young Sithling rose into a sitting position and put on a wide, jolly smile to greet her teacher with.

“Hello!” Funami waved at the hologram and continued feasting on the expensive delicacies. Aware the steady flood of luxury would not last forever, she was determined to abuse the provided hospitality to the fullest. Despite the outward carefree appearance, Funami adopted a serious expression and gave a nod here and there to acknowledge the man’s orders. She did have a few ideas on how to go about the mission, but something told her that would ruin her fellow acolytes’ intricate plans. Despite Vaulkhar’s warnings, getting the task done did not actually sound hard at all to her. What could a train full of civilians and some weekend prison guards do against a trio of trained Sith?

“Ta ta!” She waved goodbye as Vaulkhar’s image faded and left the three alone. Rather than hopping off the seat, the small child went back to comfortably roll over the blankets. She could not get up! It was physically impossible! The blankets were so smooth and warm the girl had no incentive to change her situation. With impish lights dancing in her eyes, she looked at the manly duo of Sith.

“You two have some really mega super ingenious plan, right? Go ahead, I’m all ears! Tee-hee-hee~” The small acolyte winked and laughed an innocent laugh before stuffing another candy in her mouth, munching on it smugly.

This was good. When Master Vaulkhar said they were going on yet another mission, Kalt was originally bummed out. Not knowing the circumstances made him nervous. That was until they boarded the train and got to their car. Kalt was leaning back in his chair. One arm wrapped around the back, holding his drink, while another held out the book he was reading. It was the latest of his collection of manuals and texts, more specifically, it was another manual on how to perform force projections.

Illusions were simple enough. Well, really they were quite difficult just to do, but at least they were just images. All he did was manipulate the senses of those around him through the force to make them believe they the image he created was real. Once he could do that all that was required was concentration and his imagination. However, the challenge was giving said image tangibility. Making them physical enough to hurt or protect. And not only that, he had to be able to perceive what the projection perceived. Then after that he needed to be able to project it at range.

His reading was interrupted by a call on the holo-projector. Kalt quickly reached over and accepted it from behind his chair, and then frowned at the task given to them. So that's why they were here. Wait, what extraction site? Did he sleep through the briefing for this one? Funami asked what the two of them had planned in order to achieve their objective.

"Am I the only one here who missed the details on this mission?" Kalt asked in response.

He closed his book, putting it back into his back, then prepared his lightsaber. "Well, I suppose I could make us look like some prison guards. I'll just need to spot one of them and I'll be able to make the illusion. Then we can just open all of the cells and we can use the chaos to get our target and escape..." He thought for a few moments.

"I can also fake some IDs, but I'll need to see a real one if it's going to be believable. I also won't be able to fake any electronic scanning devices. There's also the problem of Funami. I can make her look like an adult prison guard but if someone bumps into her they'll notice something is up really quick. I don't imagine we'll have a lot of room to maneuver in these cars either."

He turned toward Trayze, "You'll probably know where to look for those things without exposing us."

Then he looked at Funami, frowning as he realized she has even gotten up yet. "It might be better for you to act as a distraction once we start the break out. Better to have the guards running toward the engine than toward the prison cars."

She hadn't expected the world to be as hostile as it was. Not in the sense that it was openly engaged in civil war, but in the sense that more than one governing body inhabited the same planet. There were so very few worlds with such an archaic system still in place. It was fascinating, really. Given the knowledge of the galaxy as a whole, the fact that two opposing sides could dominate a single world, with focus largely on their internal squabbles, and still be able to function seemed highly improbable. And yet, here they were in that very situation. She didn't really know what to make of it other than it seemed a place rife with trouble. Ever since she'd arrived on the world she'd had multiple visions of the future. So many it had become hard to differentiate between them. Only one had stood out to her, and that was precisely why she was on the train.

The one vision that had shown up with the most clarity was one of imminent threat to the inhabitants of the train. Despite the numerous times she'd had the vision, and despite the number of times she'd plainly sought out the vision of her own volition, she was unable to determine what the cause of the trouble was going to be. All she could tell was that it was this train, and that at some point in the near future it was going to have a spell of serious misfortune and people were very likely to get hurt. While she didn't feel particularly bothered about people being harmed, she did feel that she needed to be there to stop it from becoming catastrophically bad.

As it was, she hadn't been able to afford a seat in one of the luxury quarters cars, but she'd been able to afford a seat in the forward club car, which allowed her to lounge in a chair near the window that, if she'd been able to look out, would have provided quite the view. As she had no eyes with which to see, she could only see what the Force showed her, and the detail wasn't nearly as nice as what she'd heard described by some of the other patrons of the car. Despite this, she found herself feeling somewhat comfortable, and she sipped lightly from a glass filled with sparkling water and a slice of fruit that was somewhat tart, but left a lingering sweet taste. She'd forgotten to ask about it, but it wasn't particularly important either.

Through the Force she could see a number of other patrons within the car, and several others entering. She could feel numerous others and even, of a sort, seem them further down the train. Some glowed in a way that she knew meant a powerful connection to the Force. Over the years she'd dealt with many such individuals. Some were quite friendly and she'd learned a lot from them in an exchange of knowledge. Others, she'd learned, had no interest in sharing knowledge or friendship, and served only to sate their own desires with no such thought of what the Force wanted. There were people utterly incapable of thinking of anything other than themselves on all sides of the Force, which was part of why she had refused to choose a side, instead remaining a presence of neutrality.

"Would you like another drink, ma'am?" the server asked.

She was a local; Altiri if Ylustri had to guess. The way she carried herself and spoke belied their more artistic nature.

"Yes, please," she responded, handing her empty glass to the young woman who went to refill it.

A curl of blonde hair fell down to cover her face, but she couldn't feel it as it lay across the metal shield she wore to cover her eyes. So many people found it upsetting to see the empty space in her head where most humanoid species had eyes. She didn't really understand the why of it, but since she hadn't wanted to upset them, she'd accepted the gift offered by people on a small world that valued craftsmanship and had been wearing it ever since. It didn't offer much in the way of protection, but she didn't wear it for that purpose. It was only there to keep people from being uncomfortable.

While she waited for her drink, she let her gaze through the Force drift around the cabin, taking in those present, and wondering which of them was destined to die that day, and which was going to be the cause of it.

Von sat patiently looking out the window watching the beautiful white terrain pass as the train sped down the rail system, snow was a sight Richard did not get to enjoy often but when he did he welcomed it. He looked around gauging the other patrons on the cart, he payed for a seat in the luxury cart which lived up to its name it was warm and had a stash of food items from sweet to savory and even spicy. Von always enjoy a good meal while traveling, trying food from different worlds and cultures was a hobby of his, so was sampling some of the best drinks they had to offer.

" I like one of every alcoholic beverages please, and start with the lighter ones first "

The waitress nodded going to fetch his drinks, once more he glanced around taking in his surroundings this planet had many different species that Von had never seen before, some humanoid others not so much.

Richard didn't use public transport often most of the time he flew in his private luxury yacht but this time he was going to meet an old friend on the planet who vouched for the train cart. So far it did not disappoint, Von noticed a patron who seemed to be blind [member="Ylustri Jade"]. While he wasn't blind himself people often mistook him for being blind because his eyes were all white a trait his species adapted to help on their native planet. His eyes were better suited for water and low light conditions, in bright conditions his vision could become impaired.

Kay smiled to [member="Evangeline Delias"] , nodding in appreciation of her sentiment. It was surely a much nicer journey than any that she had had lately. Most of her travels had been wrought with danger and death. Her own little freighter The Free Lady had been discarded like trash when she was captured by the Eternal Empire. Her journey from Nelvaan had been a tough one, but Lord Mayhem was there to help her and guide her while her strength and mind were gone.

Speaking of which, she spotted him. Lord Mayhem sat at a table a few away from her own. He was sipping tea, it looked like, ignoring everyone around him. Well that was good. The last thing that she needed was for Mayhem to be bothering her. To everyone else on board that wasn't reaching into her mind, he was a figment of her imagination. Due to her PTSD, the return of one of her rivals was a way for her mind to cope.

"Well let's just hope that Doyle hasn't gotten into the spice. I made sure that it was securely locked. But you never know how determined he could be. Still..." She looked over to [member="Talon Richwood"] briefly before turning her attention back to Eva. "..it is good to get away for a little bit. Which part of Anarris did you like the best?"

"I don't care how many chains or collars are on him. The guy gives me the creeps!"

"Well what do you think will happen? That he'd escape? That's highly unlikely."

"Yeah? Well tell that to my gut."

"Haaazaaard paaaaaaaaay. Remember the hazard pay? Two month's worth in a week! That's easy money given that he's stuck in a box! And if he tries to escape, we just open up the windows and MAKE him chill out for a while!"

The two guards on either side of the beast's cell spoke among themselves. Being far up in the north, security was usually light. However for this particular prisoner, the amount of guards on the train was doubled to that of ten men and women. Six guarded the back of the train while the other four patrolled the front. Each wore light armour and carried with them blaster rifles and stun batons. Though usually the most danger that they tended to come across on these trips were rowdy guests. The north had a funny way of subduing people. Perhaps it was the constant presence of snow and ice, or the isolation one felt when traveling through it. Either way, the journeys tended to be good ones.

Talon was mesmerized by [member="Evangeline Delias"], he had never seen this species before and when he realized himself that his eyes lingered for too long he looked out the window. Currently he wasn’t keeping track of where they were and he didn’t plan to. While yes he did learn about this trains contents in the prisoner cart, he thought nothing of it. One deserved an in depth look, but after a while he dismissed it.

While in the car he was getting bored, for some reason his drink still hadn’t arrived so he was just playing with a knife. He was just turning it in between his fingers. Getting a couple strange glances, he didn’t mind and just kept going. Finding the task a little fun, he just sat and enjoyed himself. Since Hammerfall he’s been trying to find a bit of fun to take his mind of that walk. So he sat and waited, but the server never came.

The train was leaving the city. The walls of steel and glass gave way to scattered squares of clay and wood gave way to open vastness of white and copper. The mountains in the far distance lingered above the fields of ice and snow like shepherds, guarding against any number of winds and storms. High in the crystal sky, a rebellious storm cloud soared over the peaks. It looked inconsequential, but there was every possibility it could gain strength as it descended.
Anjin removed her helmet to admire the scenery without the interruption of the HUD. Her eyes traced the the fingers of bare earth between the ice flows and snowbanks, shining in mineral glory under the late-day's sun. Off in the distance, only visible for a moment due to the train's speed, a large white animal ran, it's fur flowing like broken ice on an ocean swell. She had seen the creature many times while riding the train, but she had never been able to identify it. And not for lack of searching in libraries and holo-net catalogs. She had learned to accept the mystery, to enjoy it. Out in the open snowfields of a populated planet, under the very noses of millions of people, a creature lived, completely unaffected by them.
The view was everything it should be, but Anjin found herself unable to enjoy it. She hadn't felt it when her helmet was on, but it was palpable to her the moment she set the beskar dome down in the seat beside her. Anger. Rage. Hate. Her head-stalks twitched in reaction to the strong sense of emotions. She could feel it coming from the cars ahead, as well as from somewhere in the rear of the train. The intensity of the feeling gave her a headache. Habitually, she ran two of her fingers along the rim of her right bracer, seriously considering cracking one of the death sticks hidden there. Great stress relievers, death sticks.
She caught her breath as she felt something new. Something closer. Her index finger brushed the end of a deathstick just before she retracted her hand. She focused on the new feeling. Apprehension and resolve. Apprehension because the person feeling it knew more about the presence of the anger than Anjin did. Resolve because the person feeling it intended to do something about that same presence.
Anjin rose from her seat and walked forward, holding her helmet at her side instead of wearing it in order not to impede her head-stalks. She went to the forward club car, her report with the engineer allowing her to slip past the security check with a smile and a wave. She approached the apprehensious, determined individual. A miraluka wearing an ornate face mask.
"Miraluka, what have you seen?" Anjin asked.

Evangeline took the small glass of wine. Twirling it in the glass, she briefly let her mind wander before she returned back to reality. A little sip of the wine – the lightest of burn as it tingled its way down. Her own blue eyes caught [member="Talon Richwood"]’s before she glanced back to [member="Kay Arenais"]. “Oh… Indeed, let’s hope not! Surely, if it’s locked up…” She nibbled her lip as she thought about the possibilities.

A spice addict could get into secure places, sometimes easier than expected. But, she trusted Doyle. But what she liked most about Anarris? Hrm. “Well… There was so much to do with weapons, and military, and it was a bit overwhelming. But my, did they have a beautiful culture otherwise. A little short, though,” she commented with a little nod.

“What about you? Have you been to Anarris before?” Perhaps Kay had already been through the different parts of the planet. Kay clearly had a bunch of experiences that Eva missed, and was much more knowledgeable than her.

Lahmia slowly swirled the contents of the goblet for a moment. She brought the glass close to draw in its heavenly, intoxicating scent. Ah, the splendors of heightened senses. Terrible tragedy about her physiology not being inclined toward actual intoxication though. She'd made the most of it over the centuries; often enjoying the frivolity of festive gatherings with no fear of becoming drunk and easily dispatched by an ambitious rival. She had so many. Lovers had been a dime a dozen, but powerful foes that was where a woman's heart lay.

After savoring a taste of the smooth wine brought to her possession by the polite lad, Lahmia's green gaze regarded each in the car. Strangely enough, only the men seemed to interest her. One played with his weapon openly, and the other seemed taken by scenery. A smile drew itself across her black lips.

Slowly the red skinned woman rose from her seat and began to slowly stride down the car, one high heel before the other, with Lahmia's tail matching the sway of her hips.

Once she stopped before the pale-eyed man [member="Richard Von"], Lahmia took a seat before him without inquiring if he would enjoy company at that moment. "A long trip with base company is a nightmore easily forebode. Is this thy first time aboard?" A smile graced her lips once more as she settled back in the chair and set her goblet down upon the table between them.

It was not that Talon failed to interest Lahmia. On the contrary, she expected if boredom struck they could relieved one another's pent up aggression being trapped aboard the train for a week by endeavoring to kill each other. She understood the potential there. Richard, on the other hand, had not made his intentions or disposition clear for the road ahead. Best to learn it soon and reap the rewards throughout the duration of the trip.

Richard closed his eyes for a moment calming his mind focusing on his breathing, he looked into the force for a moment, he sensed a powerful presence aboard the train not far away.

" A long trip with base company is a nightmore easily forebode. Is this thy first time aboard? "

Von opened his eyes to see a lady sitting in front of him a unique one at that, she had a number of uncommon features such as horns, a tail, and pointed ears with incredibly bright green eyes.

" Yes it is I don't travel by train often, flying is my preferred method of transportation usually but sometimes it's necessary to mix it up "

It was gonna be a long trip so Von did not mind the company, without it the trip could become bland why not mingle with some of the locals pass some time, he reached over grabbing his glass the server brought him he had a drink it had a strong taste and a even more pungent smell. He also spotted a Mandalorian a common sight in the galaxy these days, never a dull moment when in their company. Richard leaned back in his seat giving his attention back to the lady [member="Lahmia deWinter"] sitting in front of him.

Trains, Adenn hated the damnable things and much preferred flight of any kind. Alas, it was not to be this day, nor for another few hours or so. Sighing to himself, Adenn looked out across the desolate landscape from his window at the very front of the train, right behind the engine, and began to think. He was there for a few reasons, one- spend some time with family, two- ensure prisoners didn't escape, and three- find any would be saboteurs and kill them. Oh and deal with any enemies of the UCM.

Sighing again, Adenn nodded to the guards at the engine before turning on his heel and walking into the passenger cars. Adenn stood out like a sore thumb amongst all these rich and fancy people, not that he cared though. For one, he was fully decked out in his beskar'gam(in sig), secondly, he was armed and on the taller range here, lastly, he carried himself the way only those used to war could. Outwardly he was calm, if dangerous looking, inside he was bitter, angry, and proud, a small vortex of it all in the Force. He also exuded dread to those less prepared and there was a promise of death in the way he walked and gazed around at people. Adenn knew he was like that, but he couldn't bring himself to care, in fact, he actively tried to make it bigger, so as best to distract anyone that was force sensitive and to drag them out into the open for him to shoot.

All of this was neither here nor there, indeed it hardly mattered to Adenn. Indeed, the people before him didn't matter either, something they learned quickly if they didn't get out of his way quickly enough as he simply pushed past them. Several began to protest until they saw exactly who it was that had just pushed past them. A 6'6" man clad in armor and ready to kill. As Adenn neared where Kay and Eva sat, he slowed and turned towards them slightly.
"Su cuy Kay'ika, and Eva. I hope you enjoy the journey." Leaning forward slightly to Kay, Adenn half whispered to her. "I'm just here to make sure everything goes smoothly." Adenn then straightened up after a moment while turning slightly. Nodding once more, Adenn would begin his march once more after another few seconds to see their response.

Edit Note: Adenn has all weapons listed in the bio except for the carnage rifle. List below :) I forgot to note this earlier, sorry!

Richard had the red woman's undivided attention. "Truer words were ne'r spoken. If every day is like the one ere it, may you aye be sure thou art moving forward?" Slowly Lahmia lifted her goblet to her lips even whilst her gaze never left the man across from her. The wine lowered slightly as though another thought came unexpectedly to the forefront. "We hast this in common, then. For I hast no want to be aboard this train except that I hast ne'r had the pleasure. And thou?" With a smile upon her lips, Lahmia resumed taking a slow, light drink of the wine.

Yes, the 'darkness' aboard the train. The deceptively young woman felt it like many others. Felt it, and could otherwise not be bothered to be distracted by it. They had but a week on the train; more than enough time to explore what should be a delightfully dangerous affair. There was no need for this to be an uneventful trip, was there? Truly, adrenaline was the spice of life. She liked to think people tasted better when their blood was pumping as well. Nothing wrong grabbing a little nibble now and then.

The server brought her drink back to her as soon as she had a chance. It had taken longer than expected, but it wasn't as if the car wasn't busy. Everywhere she looked there was someone seated, and it seemed like as time passed the car only became more full. Apparently drinking was the thing to do on the train despite all of the other amenities that she had heard it housed. It came as little surprise to her. More often than not people gravitated towards drink as a way to ease their worries and relinquish their frustrations. Someone had once told her it was a crutch. She hadn't quite understood what they meant back then, but she did now: alcohol was like medicine for people who didn't have the willpower or fortitude to deal with everyday life.

She was aware that someone was looking at her. It wasn't hard to see him in the Force. Perhaps the people of the galaxy still weren't overly used to Miraluka. Her people, as she had come to learn, had not fared well many years ago when the Galactic Empire had been in power. Many of them had been killed off. While they'd slowly replenished their numbers, the galaxy as a whole seemed to have mostly forgotten about the species where everyone was a Force Sensitive to some degree. Not that it bothered her. She'd gotten used to the stares a long time ago, which was why she'd never thought to cover her eyes until someone had made a covering for them. Even then it had taken her a short time to figure out why she should do it.

Lifting the drink to her lips, she continued to survey the room. It surprised her, but two individuals that she could feel a very distinct military feeling from entered the car not far apart. The first approached her directly, which was odd, and referred to her by her species. She lowered her glass and cupped the bottom of it in one hand while holding onto it with the other.

"I don't believe it is polite to refer to someone as their species unless they are of a hive mind," she said without turning her head towards [member="Anjin Tan'Ordo"].

In fact it was rather rude. While the Miraluka themselves referred to each other as brother or sister, believing they were all one big family in the Force, they did still utilize names for individuality. A hive mind was far from what they were. She didn't care for being addressed in that manner, nor did she care for the demand for information that was made of her. For that matter, why was this individual even asking her what she had seen? She could sense a level of Force connection from them, but couldn't sense a level of training that would lead them to be able to detect a seer in their vicinity. Perhaps they were hiding that level of aptitude from her and those around them, she couldn't be sure.

"I see many things and right now I see danger without a direct knowledge of the cause. That's why I'm looking. Your questions are distracting me from trying to see what can be stopped."

She knew it would happen, but she didn't know how it happened, who caused it, or why. That was why she was scanning the train in the first place. The back of the train, she was aware, housed a security suite for prisoner transport and that seemed the likely place for a problem to originate from, but that could also just be too obvious. There were numerous other outlets for causing problems on the transport and she couldn't rule them out without a vision of more clarity than what she was getting. For now she lifted her glass once more and took a drink, pulling her focus away from the person who confronted her, and scanning the cars once again for signs of something being out of place.

The emotional aura around Ylustri Jade was as cold as the polar landscape outside the train car. The air was tense in the train. So many negative emotions, elements in a dangerous chemistry. Something was about to explode.
Anjin considered returning to her seat. She could lay low. Wait for whatever was about to happen to blow over. Her nature told her she should. Her upbringing told her the opposite. She had been brought up to feel excited in situations like this. The troubles were the problem and she, as a Mandalorian, was the sum. It was her duty to gather all the variables. She sat down opposite the one in the silver mask.
"I'm Anjin." She introduced herself. "Sorry to be so direct. Old habits die hard. What is your name? I hate to pry, but I really feel like something is going on here. Maybe we can work together. Would you mind telling me when you see something?"
The train car shuddered as it went over a partly-iced section of rail. Anjin looked out the window. The cloud she had seen earlier was lower, bigger, with considerable vertical development. It looked like what the interior of the car felt like. She hoped the wind would carry the potential storm away. She hoped the anger swirling through the cars would die off... before the passengers started to.
