Training Begins

From the view point of an eagle flying above, the scene would be quite interesting. The searing heat of the canyon, massive orange stones hanging over cliff face forming what would seem like a set of jagged teeth aligning the mouth of a shark. In the canyon stood a dark skinned one covered in dark robes where the sun and any light would not dare to enter. Vual stood there, seemingly in thought as the tendrils on the back of his neck would contort and twist, as though he sensed another being he would open his eyes and a sly smile would appear on his face.

"Greetings. Master."

There was something off about this situation for [member="Vual"] . While he did sense another presence, it wasn't his master. If fact, it wasn't even human. A large Bha'lir, black in color, stalked its way to him. It stood out against the bright red sands, and clearly wasn't trying to hide. A low growl would emanate from its throat, but it did not move to attack. In fact, it looked past the pure blood.

A voice would whisper into the boys ear all of a sudden, a rather calm and masculine voice. "I see you've met Bar'reth, good. You won't have to be introduced." It was the red man speaking. Darth Ferus had an unnatural love of shrinking his presence to practically nothing, often to confuse people and simply let him gauge them up without them even knowing. Skirting back from the pureblood, the Darth would.take a bow in his customary outfit, a large grin on his face.

"Shall we begin?"

Vual turns to face [member="Darth Ferus"] , or more correctly he recomposed himself from a small jump of the sudden appearance of his master. An instantaneous thought to grab his saber was erased after a moment to take the information in. After a deep breath, he sighs and gives an affirming nod.

"Of course, master."

Pulling his own golden saber, he would let the flat blade spring to life. Now was a moment of actual training, one in which he would gauge [member="Vual"] 's current level of skill. Offering another bow, Ferus would flick about his golden blade, letting it rest at his side in a loose single handed grip. "Which interests you more child? The Force, or sword play?" A simple question to begin the training itself. Once he picked a path, he would be tested. Grant it, he would be tested in both by the end of the day, but what he said first would be the first.

Vual unlatches his own saber, the red red blade springing to life as he cracks his neck and many thoughts running through his head, mostly questioning the different moves that may be done after each training session may occur. His eyes meet with [member="Darth Ferus"] 's eyes.

"Sword play master."

A faint smile would twitch on the lips of the Sith. This time, it was a real smile, a real hint at joy. But the joy would not be a good one. Holding his blade within his right hand, he would bring the whole limb up to point at [member="Vual"] . "Then your challenge is simple. Cut me." It was his usual challenge, one he would be the opposition for. Either keeping to the defense or offering surprise attacks, he would have the apprentice cut at his form until they finally did. Most never could, but there have been much more in the past months than in his entire time as a Sith.

His legs would keep a part as he seemed to be going for a single handed stance, and a wink would be offered to the pure blood himself. "Don't hesitate either. Unless you're trying to kill me, you will loose."

Vual raised his own blade towards [member="Darth Ferus"] and with a slight chuckle, he positioned himself accordingly.

"This blade is both my fathers uprising and his downfall, it has served as his path to strength and as his destruction by my hands."

And with that, Vual lunged forward, going to send his blade horizontally towards the midriff of Ferus though not expecting to hit and expecting to parry, or defend from his own onslaught.

The Zabrak would do no such thing as touch blades with [member="Vual"] yet. In fact, he kept the golden blade pointed to the ground as he slipped a step backwards, letting the red blade pass by harmlessly. A grin would form on the Iridonians face as the thrill of a fight began to flow through him. He was not so self absorbed to assume he wouldn't get harmed with this duel, but he was certain the Pureblood would provide much needed fun. "Your fathers blade? Ironic! So is this!" Slipping another step back, the red man would bring up his right hand and by extension his saber eye level, pointing it right for the mans chest. With a sudden leap forward, he would thrust the golden blade right for him in a single handed poke.

Vual would take the moment at the lunge before he would go to attempt a side step to his left with a hefty push with his legs, as he does so he would also move toward [member="Darth Ferus"] before going to sweep his blade towards his neck with the intent of removing the man's head shining in his eyes.

With a quick flick of his wrist the golden blade would go from pointed directly ahead to straight up. Makashi, the fencer stance, was all about quick directional changes with the saber. A slight grin formed on the red mans face as his own blade would catch the red, not holding it here but rather changing it's angle to soar harmlessly over his own head. Bending backwards with it, Ferus would shift himself on his right foot to turn with [member="Vual"] as he went past, keeping his blade aloof and ready to defend. For now, he watched. And he was loving it.

As Vual continues through with the swing, he takes a couple steps forward and away from [member="Darth Ferus"] to get his composure. His red eyes gaze over the environment a moment before, he turns to face his master once more and with a twirl of his saber, he re-positions himself into an offensive stance.

"Hmm."

Going back to a neutral stance, the red man would offer a rather large grin to [member="Vual"] , followed by a wink. "Don't be giving up now. Press the attack!" By the end of this sentence Ferus was practically laughing. He loved the thrill of a fight after all, and this was more than enough to bring a smile to the face of this assassin. With his sword down by his side, he would await the next clash, curious on what would happen.

Vual charges once more onto the attack [member="Darth Ferus"], this time zigzagging back and forth, attempting to give off the idea of a lack of direction where his blade may go and as he got close he would send another swipe towards his master's hip on the right side, as did so Vual would also send a leg sweep in the same direction hoping to catch the man off guard.

Pulling up his sword quickly, the red man would press against [member="Vual"] 's own, angled down to the ground. Which may be unfortunate as the boy was trying to kick his leg. Offering a wink, the Zabrak would hold his position, waiting to see if he would end up cutting his own leg off on his blade or retract his attack. "Don't cut and kick in the same place, you leave yourself way open!"

Vual would glide his body weight to the other side of [member="Darth Ferus"] to avoid his leg being removed, after he would stumble a bit before recuperating. He would then let out a loud scream, visually frustrated from the situation and he would turn, yelling.

"What is the point!? You are obviously stronger than I!"

"To test your skills of course. I need a baseline before I can simply train you [member="Vual"] . Now continue." Lifting up his sword, he would position the energy blade in such a way that it was a single grasp, and pointed slightly at his foe, and up. For now he would wait, a faint grin still prominent on his face. Save for a couple mix ups in planning, the pureblood was rather good.

Vual spits onto the ground as he begins the charge once more at [member="Darth Ferus"] and as he got close would send the saber towards his masters neck but at the last second before it would meet the other saber, he would attempt to pull it back and over, in attempt to fake out and hit the other side of his master.

Ferus brought up his saber to catch the original strike, having assumed [member="Vual"] was a more straight forward attacker. His feint however caused the Zabrak to have to bring up his metallic hand to catch the saber itself. While this seemed odd, the cortosis layer beneath the limb would be enough to shut off the saber and keep the Darth from getting majorly hurt. With a grin, Ferus would offer one nod.

"That's the sort of thing you should be doing, yes."

Vual would seem visually shocked but shakes it off, it was never smart to allow your opponent the chance to think they outsmarted or made one shocked. Taking a step backwards from [member="Darth Ferus"] he smirks lightly with a firm nod.

"Allowing someone to think I am a one trick pony is not on me, but on them master."

"A very good outlook to have [member="Vual"] . Very good indeed." With a slight nod the red man would shut down his saber, and Ferus would crack his neck a bit. The pureblood had done well, and thus for now they would need to take a break. In the mean time, talking was how it was gonna go. "So, you seem decent with a blade. Tell me, what is your goal with it? What would you want to do with the sword in your hands?"
