The sun gleamed through the dark leaves of the trees causing a strange lightning affect. A fire laid on the ground surrounded by dark stones covered in moss and some of them were clean of moss. The Dark bark of the trees added a depth to the forest adding a surprise to any who entered. Tyranus sat across from the fire in his black tanktop with a dark brown leather jacket on with his lightsaber equipped to his belt and his armor and weapons at his tent. He crossed his arms and began to speak.

So you said you wanted to learn force lightning?

Venris nodded, shedding his hooded coat and gloves in preparation for the training session. "Aye, that'd be the intent." He said. "If we want to combat the Sith then we need to learn of the powers they wield, and last I recall Force Lightning is right up there in their list of favorite methods of inflicting pain." He rolled his shoulders and then sat down cross legged. "If I might ask...how did you learn of Force Lightning?"

Ok got it

Tyranus stood up and walked over to the rocky ledge near the water. He took a deep breath, taking in the smell of the water and the trees. He then turned around and held his right hand up in front of him.

So, first take a stance similar to this and then imagine in your mind you using the force and generating the lightning. Then when ready and focused, try to physically do it with the help and support of the force. If you get at least a slight purple spark you did it correctly, if not I'll help you.

Tyranus continued to hold his hand out in front of him and then purple lightning flickered into view and it formed into a ball, circling around his hand like a serpent trying to climb a ever extending branch in one single place, never moving anywhere. He raised his hand upwards and shot the lightning towards a rock wall across from him with the water in the middle. The lightning struck the wall harshly, causing a slight indention in the wall along with a black blotch where he shot it. He shot a gaze towards Venris, then he finally said something.

Will i taught myself when I found some instructions on how to use force lightning also when I opened up a jedi holocron on accident and it showed how to use force lighting, although I only trained in it 10 years ago, but I'm still good today.......I found it on a pirate raiding vessel and then three years after that........one year after meeting you.....someone framed me for something in the Pichilus military and then I was on the run.

She held her right hand up in front of her and started to focused on the force feeling static build up in her hand she focused harder till a spark of blue appeared"darn so close"she focused again till a small ball of blue appeared"I did it"

Venris listened to Tyranus while assuming the proper stance, as instructed. He tried to simply picture the lightning forming in his hand, feel the crackle of energy at his palm, detect the odour of ozone...and nothing happened for two straight minutes. Venris remained patient, trying to focus himself on the task at hand, but could not seem to make any headway with it. He exiled slowly and blocked out everything around him, erecting a barrier of sorts against everything else his mind could perceive except for what it conjured on its own.

...and nothing happened for another few minutes.

"I thought Sith powers have an emotional component to them," Venris said, looking at his palm with a frown. "I keep picturing the lightning as you said but I can't even make a spark."

Whilst the others were in the clearing attempting to cast force lightning Vassar sat away from the group, near a wterfall. The Datacron Karen Roberts had given her on Fondor was craddled in her lap and she took this time to meditate on it. Centering herself in the force the young woman closed her eyes, and let the life of the forest flow through her.

She felt the familiar warmth of the lightside as it entered her, strengthening her body and her muscles, soothing her bones. The memory of the Sith tried to come up again, but she had grown quite skilled in detaching emotion. With will-full disregard she let her emotions go, focusing on the energy coming from the watefall.

It was odd to her that some of them wanted to master a predominantly Dark side power, but it was also an opportunity. Vassara had read of Tutaminis in the datacron, and was eager to try it. As she envisioned the invisible barrier in her minds eye she felt the current of the force change, spiralling down into her palm.

With a quick movement she dispelled the weak field, and rose walking towards the group. She pocketed the datacron and stood behind them, arms crossed. If they managed to shoot a good spark, she wanted to try and defect it. But for now she watched, silent as a mouse....

Tyranus walked over to Star nodding his head. He places his hand on her shoulder and looked at her deeply.

Good job Star, your a natural now just try to focus the shape of the ball and the feel.

He then walked over to Venris and had a puzzled by understanding look. He walked closer to try and see what he was doing wrong but he couldn't figure it out.

Ok Venris..wipe everything from your mind and imagine everything about the electrical ball the smell, feel, how it would look...Also keep your hand not as clenched keep it more open like your grabbing something invisible because then it will act like a cage for the lightning.

[member="Tyranus Collik"]

"That's what I've been doing for five minutes," Venris muttered, but obeyed and adjusted his hand so that it was palm out rather than with a close fist, and repeated the process from before. Once again the young ex-Jedi was left standing there, brow furrowed as he tried to call upon the Force Lightning, willing the wall before him to be charred black but not receiving so much as a spark.

But of course, dear brother...how could you even think that you could call upon something that you have feared for so long? That wretched voice whispered into his mind. Ever since you saw what it did to your master...ever since you saw what I did to your master...you have feared ever becoming anything close to me, and that unwillingness to seize your own power has shackled you even now. It chuckled. He would be so...disappointed.

Venris' eyes snapped open....and a burst of red sparks exploded from his palm, but rather than hitting his target it dissipated into nothing a foot or two from his palm. He rubbed his hand and saw that the flesh on his palm was burned a bit, tinted red but not badly damaged.

Vassara raised an eyebrow when the spark came to life in Venris hands. She felt for a moment a ave of agony and crushing pain lance through the force. It caused her to cringe a little and her brow then furrowed. The summoning of the lightning was dangerous. She had made clear her thoughts on the Sith and their practice. While the young Warden understood the need to study all applications of the force, this one made her unnerved.

Recovering now she let her mind drift back to Alderaans beaches for a brief moment. She felt a slight breeze on her brow and let a little smile crack her face. The emotion within her stirred up the burst of dark energy subsided, giving way back to a calm current of tranquillity, like a babbling brook.

"Careful Venris. I understand you guys want to use the lightning for good purposes, but keep in mind letting your passions go could consume you. It's the first step on the path of the Darkside."

Tyranus jumped back in fright from the red sparks and then looked at Venris's palm. He had a slight frightened look and then looked at Venris. He began to speak, his voice a bit strained and with a slight frightened tone.

W-what was t-that.....

Tyranus walked back and turned his back to him for a minute trying to get a voice out of his head but it kept on repeating.

Behind the waterfall......waterfall.......Behind IT!

Tyranus suddenly felt had a slight headache and sat down holding his head for a minute. He stopped holding hid head after a while and wondered what that voice was, until he recognized it.........it was his brother......his thought to be dead brother.

[member="Vassara Raxis"] [member="Tyranus Collik"]

Venris shut his eyes and relaxed his hand. "Believe me, Vassara...I have spent the previous decade fighting every temptation the dark side has extended to me...and there have been many." He looked to Tyranus. "A momentary lapse in my discipline...rest assured, it won't be happening again. I have no intent of falling to the honeyed promises the Sith give into."

He held out his hand again and began to create the lightning in his mind once more. But rather than listen to the voice whispering from the back of his mind, he ignored the dull ache it formed and pictured his master standing behind him with a hand on his shoulder...

Now Venris...you know what you must do...all that is required is to act now.

When Venris created force lightning, it was still red...but this time it was not so explosive or uncontrolled. His palm crackled visibly for several seconds before he stopped and looked to Tyranus again for further instruction or advice.

Tyranus stood back up breathing deeply. He couldn't believe that his sith brother was still alive he saw him die in a crashing Star-Destroyer....He saw the bridge explode while he was in it. He looked back towards Venris and then began to speak gain.

Uhhhmm......just continue to focus on happy thoughts.....a-and uhmmmm just continue to focus on the lightning I need to do something

He walked away without waiting for a reply and he walked through the large waterfall and saw it. He saw a sith symbol freshly carved into the wall with the name Zandark Collik under it. Tyranus couldn't believe it that his brother was actually alive. But on the other hand, he wanted him more dead then alive. He walked out of the waterfall and sat on a stool by the fire trying to calm himself down.

The force sent out another ripple as Tyranus suddenly felt his brother. Vassara was not sure what was happening and simply stood calm, in the center of the storm. Venris had a good grasp on the force, much better than herself for sure. She could sense a lighter shift in his utilization this time. There was little emotion but more a of a calm serenity when he drew the lightning.

Vassara nodded as it dissipated, locking eyes with him.

"You're much stronger than me friend. I don't dare touch the powers your trying to learn. There is far too much darkness within me to possibly survive it's pull."

It was a hurtful truth. Her journey had only just begun. So far every action was a struggle for the young woman to remain in the light. Every resistance a personal victory which netted her closer to what she envisioned herself as.

"Tyranus, are you ok?"

She focused on the ball moving it around her as she smiled looking at his look and looked away with a smile"OK do I just imagine it arcing? "She focused aiming for a rock
She felt her hand heat then a flash as blue lightning shot towards a rick knocking it down

While the others had been trying Zavzen had been thinking over what had been said and observing peoples attempts. Sighing, he closed his eyes and reached down within himself and, ignoring the advice to only use Ashla, released the hold he had on his emotions, letting them to role through him. Using his emotions to grab Bogan, he pulled it to the surface and used it to form the lightning in his hand. Sparks of white static started to jump between his fingers, increasing in speed as he allowed himself to begin drawing on Ashla, struggling to keep the two balanced. When he felt like his arm was going to explode he let the now crackling orb of electricity free and it arced out to hit the wall closet. It had taken him three minuets to reach that point and he shook his head in disappointment with himself, he should be able to do it fast. Sighing he got started again, trying to lower the time needed.

"I understand, Vas," Venris replied to Vassara, glancing briefly over at Tyranus. "Not all of us are meant to tamper with such things, and for that I envy you." He turned towards his target again and held out both hands. "...I had a brother once...much older than I, and he was a Jedi just as I was. He was a Knight, close to being a master...and then he fell." He shut his eyes. "But he was not content to cross into the darkness on his own...so he tracked me and my master down and tried to bring me over."

Red energy began to crackle between his palms even as Venris took a deep breath, maintaining his composure. "I once liked to think that in his own twisted way he did this out of love for me...but I abandoned any delusions of that long ago." He tried to unleash the force lightning, but it barely reached a few feet before dissipating. A few more tries met without any further progress.

Venris sighed and lowered his arms, taking a momentary break. "Some part of me wishes that I had given in that day...at least then my master may have lived."

Uhhh...Sorry just........it's............n-nothing....

Tyranus stood back up and walked slowly over to Star. Her face comforted him along with talking to her. He walked over to Star and put a hand on her shoulder trying not to scare her and also trying to calm himself down.

G-good job........Star........your doing better then I could......e-ever do.....

He patted her on the shoulder and then sat at the edge of the water, his legs handing off of the edge his legs a few feet from the water. He took his leather jacket off revealing his black tanktop, strangely his right arm was mostly covered in bandages. He looked out from the water trying to wipe the memory of his brother from his mind and trying to focus on Star.

"It's all what you make of it brother. You choose the path you walk, no one else can choose it for you."

Vassara moved in front of him no, removing her shotgun holster. She tossed it to the side, and then removed her gunbelt, tossing that as well. Last she stripped off her coat and neatly laid it down on her gear. Venris had enough grasp of the lightning in her mind that she felt comfortable trying out her new technique.

"Ok venris, I want to try something I learned from a fellow forcer. It'll require you launching a bolt of lightning at me."

Vassara backed up and set her stance. One foot forwards the other backwards. As Venris readied himself, she closed her eyes, releasing herself into the force. The vision of her barrier came to her once more and she felt a tingle as the energy of the lightside granted her request. Tingling warm sensations manifested down her arm pooling in her hand.

Her trance-like state afforded her not talking, so instead she held out her palm, bar fingers out stretched and flat, waiting for Venris to strike....
