Training our Prowless (Expeditionary Fleet Only/Or with invite)

Venris wasn't sure if Vassara was just nuts as usual or reaching a whole new level of insanity with this, but something felt different about her...around her...

"If you die because of me," He whispered, already conjuring the red lightning in his hands. "I will hunt you in the afterlife and drag you back just to tell you how stupid this was."

He then unleashed a single barrage of Force Lightning, the process feeling so natural now...where he could barely produce a spark it was like a switch had been flipped to allow him to call on the dark side aligned energy at will.

T-thanks Star

Tyranus looked up at her. He was glad that he was by her and that she was comforting him. He never knew anybody that deeply cared about him like Star. He looked back down at the water and tried to calm himself down again. He just couldn't believe that his brother was some how alive but he wondered, how did his brother know he was coming here.

When venris struck the force swirled in Vassaras palm, answering her call. The lightning came in fast and hard and she gritted her teeth as her open palm intercepted the strike. then the oddest thing happened, the lightning seemed to dissipate as visible ripples materialized all long her hand.

Vassara was doing it!

But her reverie was short-lived as she realized she had not read the second part of the task. Now that she had caught the lightning she hadn’t a faint clue how ton absorb, redirect or do anything with it. If she kept it it would explode in her palm. If she released her Tutaminis, it would shock her. There was only one clear path here.

She released her barrier and let out a short yelp through her clenched jaw as she felt the dark side sear her soul. The lightning arced over her forearm and burned her, causing layers of pain upon pain.

Luckily it was not a sustained burst, so it went away quickly. Vassara was left bewildered holding her slightly burned arm. She glanced at Venris, letting a grin strike her face.

"A fair price to pay for knowledge. Do it again, I want to try something else."

She centered herself again, ignoring the pain. The force flowed through her once more, soothing the burn and bolstering her spirits...

Zavzen looked up when he felt pain vadiate from Vassara. "Oi, Captain." He called out, "If I'm right your trying a Force Barrier right? If you loose control, just redirect the lightning to me if you can, I can deal with it." He then returned to his training.

Venris' eyes widened as he felt a flare of the dark side radiate from Vassara, if only for a moment. He frowned and walked over to her, taking her arm into both of his hands and examining it. "What did you just tell me not ten minutes ago about being careful? If you'd told me what you intended I wouldn't have taken part in your experiment." He released her arm and sighed. "But now that you know you can even somewhat pull off that barrier you could just get Star or Tyranus there to help you with this foolishness, and I'd prefer it if you kept it limited to just me being involved....so fine, get ready for a second round. And you'd better be ready to block it entirely this time."

He stepped back and held out one hand this time, wondering if he could cause less damage with just one hand than he had with both. A stream of force lightning flowed between the two, thin and weak compared to the kind that could incinerate entire individuals in the blink of an eye but none the less capable of great harm if not properly countered.

This time was different. Now that she had a basic grasp on how to bring the barrier up and into play Vassara was quick to raise her palm. This time as the stream reacted it was quickly devoured by the rippling waves of the force. Instead of holding it she moved her hand, willing it away from herself, trying to push it towards Zavzen.

The stream bounced from her outstretched palm, rocketing towards Zavzen with ferocity. Vassara did not realize how much strength she had put towards propelling the blast away from herself and shouted aloud.

"Head's up Zavzen, sorry!"

The tutaminis ceased, and she returned her hand by her side, eyes tracking the bolt to see what would happen...

Tyranus stood up and gave Star a hug. He did it out of emotion, he wan't trying to hug her his mind just willed his body to do it so he did. He then released her feeling awkward. Tyranus felt awkward but it helped clear his mind of his brother. Tyranus looked slightlu away from her vision feeling awkward.

Uhh......Sorry

Zavzen's head snapped up as the arc of lightning headed his way. He immediately took the majority of his focus off of his own Force Lighning, which he kept active in his palm, focussing on the oncoming threat. With a lazy flick of his wrist a Force Barrier erected itself in front of the danger, freezing the spitting electricity in place, inches from his face.

He smirked, sending a quick mental thank you to his old Master, Darth Ferus formally Krest, for teaching him how to erect a barrier. Slowly he focussed on altering the properties of his barrier to transform it into Tutamis, after all it was a Force Barrier variant in the end. Eventually the Force Barrier absorbed the Lightning before he let the barrier fall so that he could continue to work on his Force Lightning. Before he began work though he sighed, it had taken to long to alter the Force Barrier into Tutamis, he would need to practice that.

Vassara smiled, feeling pleased with herself. She had done pretty well by her won estimation. The tutaminis had held and deflected, but now she wanted to expand the practice. She knew it could absorb the force lightning completely and the energy could be added to her own reserves. While this seemed to be tricky, her quick mastery of the tutaminis gave her a streak of hope.

"Ok I think I have it down. How do you absorb it completely though? I want to convert the energy, not just redirect it."

Venris watched as Zavzen almost effortlessly dissipated the Force Lightning bounced off of Vassara's barrier. He let out a sigh and looked at Vassara. "I did remind you that you have a death wish, right?" He sighed and looked at his palms. "Less than a half hour ago I couldn't get a spark out...now I could probably fry a person where they stand if I kept up a stream like that. I'm not sure whether to be impressed with myself or worried about how quickly I'm taking to a skill that the Sith pride themselves on."

He looked to Zevzan. "I would also like to learn more of this Barrier technique...if I have learned to wield a sword in one hand it makes sense to wield a shield in the other afterall."

Wow, w-what.............happened

Tyranus was surprised that she had a mechanical arm but he also had one so it wasn't all strange. He looked at his mechanical arm and then sighed slightly. Then he began to say how he lost his arm.

I-I got my arm..............when I was part of a military force against some rebels.............a couple of blaster shots took my arm clean off......

Zavzen let out a growl when the two's questions caused him to loose focus, a side effect of his perfectionist nature was that he hated distractions. He took a deep breathe before replying, scratching his scars as he did so. "Hmm, well. My technique for Tutamis is slightly unusual. How about I train you in it at a later date?" The question was obviously rhetorical as he returned to his training immediately

Will.....

Tyranus began placing a hand on her mechanical arm. He sighed then continued.

......At least you survived....

Tyranus smiled at her, his eyes going deep into her eyes. He waited to hear her response or to see if she would respond. Tyranus continued to smile at her, enjoying the color of her eyes.

Your welcome

Tyranus stands up and guides her arm towards the direction of the rock wall. He waits a minute before saying something else.

Ok, now keep your arm straight and keep your longest finger at the point you want the lightning to hit. Now focus in your mind about the lightning and about how it would strike the point on the wall............now imagine the lightning.

Zavzen eventually let out a short yell of success as he succeeded in is self-assigned goal. He could now, conjure Force Lightning immediately. Better yet he had managed to find three ways of doing so: using Bogan, using Ashla and using a mix of the two. The only problem he saw was that he could only point and shoot, he couldn't guide the electricity to where he wanted. Worse still was no matter how hard he tried it seemed to be drawn to anything that would ground it and he had to fight to stop that. Frowning he settled in to try and find a solution.
