When Trigonus Industries bought ten-thousand creaky old used Jumpstar Hyperdrives from a decaying New Republic parts yard, everyone assumed they were looking for cheap Hyperdrive parts for use in cheap freighters. What Trigonus did with them shocked the industry. They refurbished the drives, bringing them up to spec. Then they created a custom hyperdrive frame that combined four of the units into a single housing with a robust Hyperdrive Regulator to manage their combined activity. The result was a Class .55 Hyperdrive that cost only slightly more than a Class 1 Hyperdrive. Unfortunately, the refurbishment and assembly is time consuming to put together, and is quite large. This precludes it from installation in small craft, and Limits its pace of manufacture.
