Private Triple A-Okay

Amani simply listened as the two politicians talked. Auteme made the dangers all the more clear when she expressed her intent to confront the returning Solipsis. The mirialan's brow raised, then furrowed. She didn't exactly like he idea of the Supreme Chancellor of the Alliance putting herself into direct conflict with the Dark Lord of the Sith, but she doubted there was much she could say that would dissuade Auteme from that course of action. Perhaps it was fated no matter what.

Alicio looked to Amani, and she stared at him for a few moments with an unreadable expression. All she offered him was a shrug, "...I think this is a decision you have to make." Perhaps they'd get lucky, if what Auteme said about the position held true. But whatever happens, the Alliance would still need a Vice Chancellor.

"...I think this is a decision you have to make."

Alicio gave Amani a sharp little smile, as if to say 'very helpful'. A decision like this was something he had to make on his own, he knew, but she hadn't said no, and that was what he'd truly needed.

He looked out to the balcony, where the kids and Kyla were watching the skyline. Both twins pointed at ships and speeders as they zoomed past, awe in their eyes. Every once in a while, they'd point out a vehicle, and say they liked the shape, or that it was their favorite color. Alicio's face fell, but his eyes took on a cutting sort of intensity.

Alicio sighed, a sad sort of finality in the lines on his face.

"Yeah, I'll do it." He looked at her, eyes steely. He'd never truly had a choice.

"You have my support, Auteme. Always."

if they're watching anyways
Auteme looked almost sad for a moment, but smiled at Amani's comment. "Oh, for sure. And when you're all done, you go become a Jedi, nab one of the fancy titles on the Council. Easy peasy."

A grin to Alicio. "Now, I know you don't want to be Chancellor. So you better fight like hell to keep me in my seat, yeah?" she joked. She topped up her guests' glasses with gusto, then raised a little toast. "To confidence in each other."

"What's one more title, right?"

Alicio mirrored Amani's slight smile with one of his own. "We keep this up, and my list will rival yours, love." It would be tough to beat Queen-Doctor-Master-Chief-Headmaster-Councillor Amani Serys-Organa, but he would soon give her a run for her money, at this rate.

Auteme's hypothetical made Alicio scoff ever so slightly as she refilled his glass. "Mhm. That doesn't sound too bad." And it was possible he would never be chancellor at all, she pointed out. That gave him... some mix of ease and discomfort.

"To confidence in each other."

Alicio pondered the toast, then raised his own glass. "Hear, hear." He took a sip after the toast, eyes flicking thoughtfully towards his children.

To confidence.
