Vigo’s men moved forward slowly, cautiously, and in tune with each other. Clearly, there had been some kind of strategy discussed beforehand, as the melee thugs moved in to attempt to box the young Jedi in, while the ranged ones move to the left and the right to try to cut off any escape if he managed to make it past the front line. The two heavy landspeeders were there as fire support as well, currently elevated and trained on the door to the apartment in the event any backup wanted to try to help out the young Jedi, but not trained on the Jedi himself yet as they did not have a clear field of fire without possibly hitting their own men.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Determinant attack~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Both of the two leading thugs moved in, their stun batons crackling with energy, as they moved in each from each to try to strike the Jedi and divert his attention. The first thug moved with impressive speed, precision, accuracy and power and even feinted masterfully first before moving for a vicious slash at Braze's left arm. The second thug was the complete opposite of his partner, he actually not only failed his swing, but tripped over an uneven pavement stone, slamming face first into the ground, leaving his much more masterful compatriot as the only one attacking the Jedi for now.
Vigo muttered to himself at the display of the second thug.
"What the Force was that...I don't even think the Jedi did anything...."
Braze Braze
Braze made a small yelp in pain and nearly dropped his hilt but tightened his grip on his right hand. He used the wall behind him as a sort of springboard to help him get a force to jump higher up than usual as he tried to somersault over the left grouping. He needed to get up high and the space to the left looked like something he could jump up to and climb higher. Braze jumped up to grab the ledge of the building above him and pulled himself up to get a foothold on the ledge. He then flipped backwards to land feet first hopefully behind the first group to his left, landing with a soft thud and rolling slightly before coming back to his feet. He was reserving any attack-like motions for deflection for any ranged shots coming his way.
The young Jedi was able to pull off his admittedly impressive use of parkour thanks to the absolute failure of the attack on the guard from the left, who had to scramble to get back up onto his feet. A veritable wall of blue blaster fire erupted at Braze the moment he completed his roll and landed on the ground, the sound reveberating through the streets with four of the thugs opening up on him in addition to the two heavy blasters cannons from the landspeeders-even accounting for the padawan's use of Soresu and the relatively poor aim of most of the shots, a few would likely give him a hard time. Behind him, bereft of their protector guarding the entrance of their home, both of the Bothans stormed out of their abode figuring they had their chance to help now that the landspeeders were distracted by the Jedi, blasters blazing, as most of the melee thugs rushed them to give their ranged compatriots a clear field of fire at the Jedi. A flurry of blows and shots erupted, but amazingly through either what seemed to be divine intercession or the will of the Force neither any of the thugs nor Trazen or Trios were injured. All of this had occured without blood being shed...for now.
Braze was no stranger to the Jedi's ability to defend themselves with Form III, and was already moving. He had anticipated the possibility of multiple blaster bolts and had his light-saber out and ready to deflect incoming attacks. He was using the Force to aid his perception with glimpses of precognition to better his accuracy of defecting bolts. However, the Jedi Initiate was more accustomed to the Force assisting his physical movements and was still feeling his way through it. Braze was in full swing, moving with speed and grace that belied his years. He was not however perfect- he was far from it in fact and suffered the brunt from the blaster cannon's blast. Although there was an attempt to block it, his training saber didn't quite have the power to stand up against something that substantial. The bolt had clipped him on the hip. He fell to one knee, the pain of the injury momentarily blinding him, but the Force keeping him from falling completely to the ground. He grit his teeth and panted as he felt the frustration fuel him.
A blaster bolt grazed his head as he rolled over and came up on one knee, his light-saber spinning in front of him, deflecting the incoming blaster bolts that followed. Braze wasn't good at controlling his emotions and right now they were fueling him in to motion. He was feeling the rage of the thugs, feeling the fear of the Bothans and he wanted nothing more than to wipe them all out. With the Force, he could do just that. In a flash of anger he pushed away from his injuries and rose to his feet. The Force fueled him with strength and speed. He stood taller, and with purpose. He moved forward, sword leading the way, and his blade cut through the air with deadly intent. He was swinging for the throat of the first thug who was in his path to higher ground.
Braze's first strike against his opponent's neck missed the thug closest to him, but his follow up strike with his training lightsaber, another vicious thrust to the neck, was so powerful it actually snapped the man's neck. A chill wave could be felt through the Force as he crumpled to the ground, dead before the young Jedi. Real blood has now been drawn. Another volley of fire against Braze continued after this, two shots seemingly particularly well-aimed, while two missed him by such a wide mark they actually struck and took down two of his opponents via friendly fire as they tried to hit the Force-enhanced moving Jedi. In the Trios vs Trazen fight, Trazen scored a lucky hit on the chest of one of the more melee-oriented thugs, burning through his armor and killing him as his blaster was set to kill, not stun. Two of his fellow thugs immediately avenged him, striking the Bothan in the right arm and his left leg, while his father suffered two similar injuries without managing to injure any of the thugs. Both Bothans were still fighting...but clearly one bad move away from going down. And it was unclear if the thugs would treat them with mercy once they were done, now that they had lost men of their own, or simply kill the two once they were no longer able to resist.
Braze couldn't continue on and leave them to the thugs that surrounded their house. "Hey scuz for brains! Over Here! " He shouted to try and get the meelee fight's attention as he spun around and charged the thugs moving double time, using his momentum to swing his light saber into the chest of the nearest thug, His blade swept across the next in a rotational slice drawing it back to a chambered hold. Braze was more focused this time on the attack and augmenting his movements to be quicker than before ad he adopted Ataru. He didn't seem to even act injured, as if he was numb to the pain by this point in combat.
Tella had been carefully monitoring the situation from her perch on top of a small retail building when the situation had rapidly escalated, she had held off initially hoping, perhaps naively, that the situation could be resolved without violence. Even when they had opened fire upon the young idiotic Padawan with blasters set to stun, she held on to the slim chance that perhaps they would go after him instead of the two Bothans, capture him, and then take him someplace where she could later sneak in and free him.
That changed when the young Padawan and Trazen each killed one of the gang members, she could feel the shift in the demeanor of the gang members and Vigo. Blood had to be answered with blood, if not the Padawan’s blood, then that of the two Bothans.
Leaping down from her position, she hurried across the street just as the young Padawan took even more stun bolts, likely only still standing because of enhancing his body with the Force consciously or unconsciously, drew one of her blue lightsabers, and began to pull deeply upon the Force. When she approached the edge of the street on which the battle had commenced, she reached out to seize four of the ranged thugs with the Force, and then hurl them through the windows of the nearby apartment complex.
As if seized by invisible rancors, the four thugs with blasters closest to the right and away from Braze were suddenly picked up and thrown violently through the windows of the nearby apartment complex, the glass shattering as they slammed through it and into the lobby pillars, the result of Tella’s excellent entrance to the battle, from the pained cries, the cut glass shards embedded in their bodies, and their contorted limbs, it was clear they would not be back in the battle anytime soon.
“What the frig? Another Jedi?” Vigo shouted, pulling his dual blaster pistols out and firing them at her. “Switch to lethal and gun her down now!”
All of the remaining ranged thugs and the two landspeeders with dual blaster cannons began to open fire at the woman with the silver hair and blue lightsaber, giving Braze needed relief from blaster fire.
Trazen and Trios went down to vicious cracks across their heads with the electric stun batons as the melee thugs finished them off, rendering both of them unconscious and likely with some form of head injury-how bad it was could not be told right now*, but not before Trazen shot another thug in the head, ending his life. The melee thugs who had taken them down did not have time to finish the job with the daggers on their hips as they redirected their attention to the Padawan attacking their flank.
Braze and the thug he attacked exchanged blows, but both seemed to parry each other, resulting in a status quo with the melee thug cackling at the young Jedi.
“Trazen and his dad got what was coming to them. We’re gonna have a lot of fun with you, Jedi brat!” He hissed.
*TBD when examined later.
This time there was no back biting snarky remark from the snowy haired youth. His vision was blurring but he compelled himself onward. He did however literally spit in the face of the meelee thug he was engaged with as he raised his left hand to Force push the two on his left in an attempt at knocking them back towards the rest of their crew. He could feel his body trying to give up on him but he willed himself to cognizance seeing the two bothan's fall.
Tella’s focus on Soresu and Niman over her mother’s more aggressive combination of it and Ataru seemed to being paying off, as she quickly varied between serpentine tactics, short bursts of linear runs, and the signature close-in deflections and parries to weather the volley of fire coming in at her expertly. This came at a cost, however, as she was only able to muster the concentration to dispatch two more of the thugs with another powerful application of Force Throw, sending two of the thugs slamming into the nearby wall on her right with a loud thud.
I need to clear out all of their ranged capabilities so I can focus more on rescuing that Padawan, and hopefully the Bothans.
The young Padawan's Force Push was a success, sending the two thugs flying through the window's of the Bothan's house and slamming into their kitchen walls with an audible thwack, then crashing as a large amount of appliances and canned goods fell on them, knocking them out if they weren't already. The two who were pushed were not able to accurately swing at Braze before they were sent flying back, the two who were not executed moderately well done attacks.
Meanwhile, the rest of the group and Vigo continued to open fire on Tella, but only a few shots looked likely to land between her maneuvers and the fact that they were only at best average galactic shots.
*Messed up on description, she needed a 10 to block w/ modifiers.
Tella’s next series of deflections were not so adroit-no one in the galaxy is perfect after all, especially considering the fact that that she was only at a Knight’s level of skill. Despite only three shots managing to land on her out of the volley, she only managed to perfectly deflect the first, the second and third shots being only partial deflections, one of them nicking her right upper arm, and other nicking her right upper leg.
She winced in pain as the blaster bolts singed her skin, but used that pain to fuel another Force Throw at two of the three remaining ranged thugs, who were flung next to their two counterparts on the wall to her right.
I hope that Padawan’s got one last burst of energy in him, otherwise this is going to be tough.
Braze took a few good hits, one to his ribs and another to the side of the face. He had been hit before, but this time it hurt like hell. He felt blood dripping down his chin from where he'd bitten his lip, and the inside of his cheek. He could feel his heartbeat pounding in his ears and he wondered how much longer he could keep up this pace. The hit to his ribs felt particularly bad--whereas before the adrenaline had numbed him slightly to the pain along with the use of the force. He was feeling overwhelmed with emotions and feelings.
He was never the best at controlling his emotions on a typical day. But now, with his friends in danger, he was fighting a war against himself. His heart beat faster and his breath came out in short, sharp gasps. He was aware of every little sensation that coursed through his body, and yet he couldn't do anything about it. A tightness in his throat swelled as if he had swallowed sand, and his heart ached physically feeling sick at the sight of his new 'friend' laying strewn across the street. He was trying to will his body to continue one but it was betraying him.
On a usual day when he was drawn to upset or anger, he would try to calm himself, breathe, and think about what he was doing. That was too much to ask of him at this moment. Something changed, he was desperate and hurting and felt a tidal wave of different emotions wash over him and he was drowning. A heated, dark emotion boiled up and bubbled over within. One that seemed much easier to give in to ad utilizes at that moment. It was easy to lose himself in that.
His vision narrowed to a single point of focus as he snarled animalistic-ally and let out a sharp cry as he put the very last of his energy as he pushed himself into overdrive on the attack striking out viciously without the motions of deliberate calculated thought and this time from pure feeling. He twirled his blade in an arch before pushing back against his foes once more, dragging his hand downwards in a rather snappy vicious motion rather than the push away like he had previously. He struck with the full strength of his arm, and the weight of his entire body behind it as he brought the blade around in a wide arc to cleave the second attacker. He felt no pain in this torrential release of all those pent-up emotions, only satisfaction at the end result. It was short-lived as his vision faded to darkness as he was consumed. His hand released his saber and it switched off falling aside. His body went slack and dropped, rag dolling and going down.
A brief disturbance in the Force could be felt in the immediate area as the young Padawan threw away his training and embraced the dark feelings inside of him, delivering a vicious Force-enhanced blow with his training saber to the head of the thug in front of him, actually managing to cave in part of the thug's skull, killing him instantly. Simultaneously, he slammed two more of the thugs into the ground, killing them as their necks cracked against the floor as he slammed them against the ground with the Force. That, however, was the extent of his power, finally weakened by this last exertion of power and the cumulative effects of the stun bolts and baton strikes against him, and he crumpled to the ground.
Meanwhile, Vigo smirked as he fired more shots against the lone remaining Jedi Knight before him along with his remaining forces, muttering to himself as he did so.
"Finally got that little bastard kid, we'll finish off this one here and then turn him over to the Sith. I'll be able to hire double the crew I had before with just him. Who knows what happens if I deliver a dead Jedi to them?"
Tella continued to dodge and weave against her enemy's blasterfire, this time much more successfully than last, enabling her to use her full concentration to grab four heavy metal pipes from the nearby trashbin with the Force and fling them against the remaining ranged thug, two remaining melee thugs, and Vigo in that order. They hit them squarely across the head, the thugs going down thanks to not having helmets, and Vigo getting staggered in that order. When that was done, all that remained was Vigo, and his landspeeder backup.
I just have to take them out and this will all be over!
As Vigo staggered and recovered from having a metal pipe slam into his helmet, cracking the visor, he shouted a new order to his two remaining allies.
“Ignore the Jedi! Grab the Padawan and get out of here! Here’s worth tens of thousands of credits! We’ll regroup later!”
With that, Vigo and his backup in landspeeders rushed to grab Braze Braze , and hopefully hightail it out of there once that was done.
NO!
I won’t let you do that! Not after all this blood has been shed! He will NOT be going to the Sith! He will NOT be your slave, no matter how young and foolhardy he is!
Tella was firm in her resolution as the landspeeders and Vigo raced to capture Braze. She was not going to let him be handed over to what her mother referred to as psychos at the edge of the Galaxy. He was young and his intervention was foolhardy, but no one deserved that fate.
Drawing deeply on the Force and letting the pain of her two wounds fuel the anger she felt at the thought of the young Jedi enslaved and taken to the other end of the Galaxy, the pointlessness of all this death and destruction, and frustration at her own naivete and inability to help earlier. Tella took advantage of the fact no one was shooting at her, clipped her lightsaber to her belt, and raised both her hands, a dark expression flitting across her face.
NOW!
Three powerful blasts of Force Lightning, each more powerful than the last, erupted from her fingertips, the first and least powerful striking Vigo and sending him flying back towards the Bothan's home into an adjacent home's front door. The second struck the heat exhaust of the second landspeeder, snaking in and travelling up into the more vulnerable internal components, setting them ablaze and causing it to careen out of control and slam into the building to Tella's left. The third, final, and most powerful blast actually hurled the second landspeeder into the air and flung it through the walls of the Bothan's home and causing it to explode in a fiery mess.
Tella dropped to her knees for a moment after the powerful bursts of Dark Side energies, panting. It was almost over. Soon, the Padawan would be safe.
Just one final piece of business to take care of.
Blue lightning writhed around Vigo as the gang crew leader was flung through the air, crashing into the door of the nearby apartment. Pain ran and up and down every inch of his body as the dark lightning flowed over him. He lay on the floor, stunned and helpless, as he watched two far more powerful blasts eradicate his two landspeeders, flinging one of them about as if they were a children’s toy through Trazen’s apartment.
What…the hell…is that…witch…
Struggling to his knees and fighting through the pain, he used the last of his strength to fire off too more blaster bolts at the witch. If he was going down, he was taking her with him.
