SPECIAL FEATURES
[+] Its prime function is chomping down on a piece of a Force Nexus, followed by conferring force sensitivity to a non-force sensitive wearer, but...
[-] The duration of the force sensitivity is limited.
[~] Access to a powerful Force Nexus (Valley of the Jedi, Ruusan. Dromund Kaas, Tython) can confer force sensitivity for two months (60 days). But a little, not well-known nexus from nowhere might only give you a week (7 days), if that.
[-] It only grants you force sensitivity. This means that the wearer won't automatically have access to force powers; they still need to be taught one way or another, but...
[+] They will have a slight edge over non-force sensitives. Instincts heightened, the most basic of precognition, perhaps being able to better judge shots- effects that are comparable to individuals who are force-attuned.
[-] An Yslamiri / Voidstone turns the gauntlet into a pretty piece of jewelry and nothing more, the wearer can no longer use the Force while inside an Yslamiri field and will have more difficulty manipulating the Force if in the presence of voidstone.
[-] Requires consistent meditation: 6 hours from a region-sized vergence or 1 hour from an area, but...
[+] You do not actually need to wear the gauntlet after that initial six/one hour meditation period, to be able to use the Force for the duration granted.
[~] It's theorized that consistent usage of the gauntlet can eventually grant a permanent enhanced connection to the Force, but this has not been witnessed yet as the device is still quite young. OOC: A pilgrimage of all the notable region-sized Force Nexus spread across the Galaxy can have this effect. Tython, Ruusan, Dromund Kaas, etc.
PURPOSE
The purpose of the Tsawak Qyâsik is to give a NFU an interesting and flavor-rich option to become partially force sensitive or even permanently, if they are willing to put some story into it.
DESCRIPTION
There are many sources of the Force spread-out through the Galaxy, but arguably none is better known and stronger than the Valley of the Jedi on Ruusan, except perhaps Tython itself. Ruusan has changed hands often throughout the centuries and just recently was one such shift.
About a year ago the Sith Triumvirate appeared on Ruusan, establishing dominion in the wake of the Techno Union's collapse- they formed a nation build on (as they claimed) law, security and order. Sadly, they were Sith and few sane individuals truly took them at their word. The long-slumbering giant, then still named the Silver Sanctum, invaded Ruusan shortly after the Triumvirate expanded its grasp across its surrounding territories and a struggle began.
The Sith had been quite busy, trying to shift the neutral vergence of the Valley of the Jedi towards the Darkside.
They suspected that this would grant them an important edge, if and when the Jedi zealots would come to drive them away from Ruusan as they had many times before. At Ruusan, many champions, warriors and lords fought, some for the Sith and some for the Jedi, but there was a single event that put all the rest to shame- the fight between the late Triumvir Orcus and [member="Alkor Centaris"]. Around them fought [member="Joza Perl"], [member="Haytham Kaze"], [member="Jericho"], [member="Solan Charr"] and [member="Loray Tares"].
In this struggle, nearby the shifting vergence, two mighty Force Masters clashed and as a result a fracture in reality itself erupted. A temporal pathway to the Netherworld, through which most of them were sucked in and some even disappeared completely.
It was madness.
But in the aftermath, after the Silver Sanctum was rebuffed and for a while the Sith Triumvirate was once again stable, certain individuals finally grasped just how powerful a Force Nexus, or vergence, really could be. Sarova, an associate of the, then, Triumvir [member="Matsu Xiangu"] - who headed up the Department of Science of the Triumvirate - took the crystals Ruusan was known for and designed a way to make use of the effectiveness of the vergences.
She took inspiration from the Reliquum Rings she designed previously and focused on a different aspect of the design.
All good things must come to an end, though. And the Sith Triumvirate collapsed in the wake of the Silver Sanctum assault- as a result a Sith Diaspora occurred, the various Sith moving away from Ruusan towards other, perhaps greener pastures... and some of them took toys with them.
Now, the Tsawak Qyâsik can be reasonably found in some of the new Sith organizations across the Galaxy.
Among them the Sith Order popped up around the Tingel Arm. And in the aftermath of the second Silver Sanctum incursion of Ruusan, the Silvers & friends might also have acquired a few sets for study.
