Twilight of the Goddess (Tygara)

The situation had subdued considerably, with the medical units moving in and helping the injured and lift out those with more serious wounds for further intensive treatment. The majority of the slaves would have to undergo a form of inoculations and dip feeding to build up lost nutrition through years of maltreatment under the hands of their captors and slave masters. The children would receive first priority, their lives only just beginning and their bodies still in growth, the elderly would be next and so on. Firemane medical had their work cut out for them, and would for some time.

As the last of the slaves had been air lifted and transported to hospitals, Abaigeal could finally breath. Tempest had done much in commanding the troops and would no doubt be busy with more call to duty, but it was time for Abaigeal to go find her mother. She turned to walked away as the last ship took off only to see Sio coming toward her, she had found her daughter. Abaigeal smiled with much relief, to see her well and ran toward her, and upon reaching her hugged her mother as if not wanting to let go.

"I am so pleased to see you are alright". The idea of loosing her, another mother was not something she wished to think about. "But the day is not done yet is it", it was not a question but a realisation that they all have to face much more. "Tell me what you need of me". She would fight to the death along side her mother if destiny proved and commanded it.

Qual’Zyanya

Trapped, the Drow lady turned at bay. She saw slave soldiers and a human woman. Both the woman and her blade were powerful with the spirits.
“Of course I do, but what interest is that to you, human?” Zyanya demanded coldly. “I see you have accomplished your goal of turning our servitors against us. How you must laugh when they murder us before marching into a new form of slavery under you.”

She drew her blade. “I will not be a slave, and I will not endure your gloating. I will either be free or I will die. If you truly have an offer, speak swiftly.”

Tegaea

Though Tegaea could not feel the Force she could observe it and its effects. When a doomed probe witnessed the flying spectre of a Xioquo, arcing energy coming off her, she knew this was the ‘Mystra’ referred to by Siobhan and Tylania.

“All commands, Mystra has been sighted leaving the city and heading towards Siobhan’s location. Threat assessment is Alpha-One. Regular troops should not engage, pull back all forces and lure her out of the city. If we kill their Queen resistance should collapse.”

“Siobhan, Aeda, Tarissa, assemble your best Force users. Siobhan will co-ordinate the response. Be careful, we do not know her full power, but you can expect illusions, Dark Side energy and elemental powers. I will assemble a column of troops to outflank the battle and secure the area behind her to prevent Xioquo reinforcements interfering.”

Sumiko felt a feeling that came close to amusement. "I wouldn't call them servitors or slaves anymore. It makes them understandably angry. They rebelled because your system gave them...no incentive not to. Consider it a lesson in management," she said matter-of-factly. That was because the Xioquo had been Stupid Evil. Of course, Sumiko was evil herself, so she probably didn't have a moral problem with slavery. It was simply self-defeating and inefficient.

She saw the Xioquo draw her blade and assume her battle stance, but looked untroubled. The drow was deluded, but she had fire and her aura screamed untapped potential. This meant she could be useful, if she learned her place. The power Dark Side coiled and slithered around Sumiko like a serpent, enveloping her like a cloak of darkness.

"If we fight me, you'll perish." I may 'give' you to the slaves first before Souldrinker devours your soul, she thought to herself. "But you have potential. The spirits are strong in you. If you swear fealty to me, I can teach you. You want revenge and not to be controlled by the Xioquo's new mistresses, yes? You cannot accomplish that as a vagabond on the run. Decide quickly."

It was time for the final act. With each passing moment, the disturbance in the Force grew stronger. A titan of power had been awakened. Her aura called to Siobhan and she felt herself being inexorably drawn to the presence.

Aba pulled her out of her distraction. Alas, there was not much time for heart-to-hearts. As the young Jedi had said, the day was not over. "I'm glad you're alright, sweetie. Mystra has arisen. She's in the city and is heading this way. I'm going to kill her." Failure? The option did not exist. Dark Queen vs. Dark Queen. Winner takes all. There would be collateral damage. A lot of it. The casualties the Xioquo had sustained were already staggering.

"I'll be taking Tempest and the best Angelii with me. It's time to end this." There was a pause before she spoke again. "You're welcome to come...if you want." Perhaps this was recognition of the fact that Aba was not a child anymore, but a strong young woman who did not need to be shielded.

Regular Eldorai soldiers had taken over the pens and their medics were now seeing to the few surviving slaves. Suffice to say anyone who hurt the former slaves would be harshly punished. The Eldorai army had strict and rather unforgiving rules.

But the battle was not over. The grand finale approached. The brief moment of peace had been fleeting. "Playtime's over. Red Company suit up and follow me. Mystra has arisen. Lady Kerrigan will confront her, we shall back her up. The full extent of the enemy's power is unknown, but she has been classified as an Omega Level Sciian. Expect illusions, sorcery and elemental powers."

The army grunts had been nice enough to lend a couple speeders to the Angelii, so they should be able to reach the battlefield in a timely manner. The only ones among their battle sisters who'd get a reprieve were the heavily wounded.

It was nice to have a little peace and quiet before putting themselves in the way of death and destruction once again, of course Elincia wouldn't mind because she liked destruction, but the death part was what was making this a bit unappealing. Anyway, it didn't last that long as they heard the voice of the ice lady once again. In her words there were too many to be afraid of, like, Mystra has arisen, some fancy words like Omega and stuff, it was even more disturbing when you didn't understand what was she saying. Who the kark was Mystra anyways? But of course, she was an Angelii and they had a job to do, she didn't need to understand about things, but she was a curious one. Elemental powers, she could understand. Now, illusions, those were the things she was pretty foreign of. She didn't know anything about them, and she didn't know its effects. But of course she was soon going to find out, wasn't she?

So as she slowly walked towards the ice lady and the Host Leader as still re-checking her equipment, she asked out of curiousity "Is this Mystra thing a goddess or something? She has such a fancy name and she sounds a bit too dangerous for my liking." Oh yeah, one more thing. She was almost forgetting this part! "Ice lady?" Yep, talk lacking respect, check! Maybe she was pushing too much? Nah, nothing was too much if you were Elincia.

The look on her mother's face was enough to tell Abaigeal what the situation was, and even though her words were very straightforward, almost a matter of fact, Abaigeal was scared for her. But she would not be alone, this time Tempest can run the ops how she sees fit, but Abaigeal was damned if she would not fight along side her mother on this. Even if it meant death, not this time, not another mother to leave to be lost.

"Oh I am coming with you", she said in a deadly tone. "I may not be strong enough to kill her myself but I can assist and provide whatever you need to help you kill the queen". She cared little for the history of the woman, this Mystra. No matter how powerful they are there is always a weakness, there is always a chink in the armour.

Lady Tegaea, had given them as much information as she knew, so they would expect a good fight and Abaigeal was ready for it. Her mother's training, and natural abilities, and fortitude given to her by Iella would see to it. Although knight level, she is the daughter of two powerful Jedi, and there is more to her then even she knows. She fussed with her mother's armour, making sure all was set in place and secured properly before doing the same to her own.

"I love you mother", she said taking hold of her before they would move out and begin the final showdown.

Qual’Zyanya

Trapped, and faced only with death she looked from Sumiko to her servants. Finally, she lowered her head and dropped to one knee.
“I swear fealty to you, Lady,” she said, each word sounding like distasteful bile.

Mystra

And so the final battle would be decided in a wide chamber deep beneath the mountain. This place, which had once been the foundry and mustering hall of the Xioquo would not witness their final stand.

As Aeda and the Angelii joined Tempest, Abaigeal and of course Siobhan, they could see a distant light growing as their target approached.

balrog_coming.jpg

And then at last Mystra appeared. Though of regular size she hovered above the ground, a great shadow flowing out from her.

LilianaBig.jpg

“So the champions arise to face me. My dear sister Tylania would be so proud. All of you have been her pawns, manipulated here to die. This Underealm is mine and my daughters. You will all die here.”

The voice seemed to come from everywhere and nowhere at once.

The Paragon’s aura in the Force was great, but against all of them combined could she prevail?

The smile did not reach Sumiko's eyes. It never did. "Good. I accept your pledge of fealty," she spoke evenly. The aura of power receded slightly, becoming less stiffling.

Qual'Zyanya was proud and had only submitted to her due to being caught between a rock and a hard place. Sumiko had no illusions about her loyalty, but this did not trouble her. The Inquisition had taught her all about breaking difficult subjects.

"I imagine you wanted to recover some valuables before fleeing." Why did Sumiko know this? Because she'd do the same. "Let us make haste and then depart. A new life awaits you all." She'd even let Zyanya have the items - after checking them of course. Let her keep what little pride remained. Breaking her down and reforging her would be a good lesson for Illyria.

So here they were now. It was a bit like facing the dungeon end boss in an adventure game. A great shadow flowed out of Mystra, who was gliding across the floor. Her aura was a miasma of the Dark Side.

Such was her power that it felt like it clogged the air. Her words dripped with evil and malice. Darkness coiled around her like a serpent. Her voice seemed to come from both everywhere and nowhere at once. Now it was time for her to die.

Uncharacteristically, Siobhan decided to speak before engaging. "I'd consider that boast more impressive if we had not already wiped out your armies. Your empire is shattered. Now it is time for a new queen to arise."

Back me up. I'll take the brunt of the assault, she broadcast to her companions. The Force swelled up inside her as she drank from the well of the Dark Side. "And for you to die." Rage and power filled her. To stare into her aura was like looking into a nuclear reactor. Then a pure wave of telekinetic energy rippled from her. Unless somehow blocked or deflected, it would hit with the strength of a tsunami.

She flashed a look at Tempest before Abaigeal turned back to see the glowing light at the end of the vast room approaching them. The scent of the darkside waffled along the floor and all that surrounded them. This, she knew all to well, that sickening feeling welling up inside Abaigeal as it grew in strength, but it called to her like a siren and her sith blood began to run hot in her veins. Mystra is powerful and it would take a lot of control from Abaigeal to stop the darkness entering her and taken hold again. But there is more to this girl then the pull of her blood, there is her mother in her as well and to this she would pull her strength from. And use it against the foul creature as best she could in order to help her mother, Sio.

Abaigeal nodded her understanding, no words spoke but Sio would know she would do what was necessary to win this day. The pull of the darkness gathered to Sio, it ripped through the air and through her as if pulling through her very being. It was intoxicating and powerful, heady to those not used to it, and as Sio sent her wave of telekinesis toward Mystra she had to plant herself to the ground to stop herself from flying forward with the pull of it.

Her saber was ready to be employed, should there be other entities to back up Mystra that needed to be dispatched, but the war would be won through the power of the force, this much was clear from the beginning. The lightside of the force gathered to Abaigeal, fueling her limbs and body to strengthen her, the store of power set within her core there ready to be summon with her own growing strength and control.

No response... Well ice lady, two can play that game! She didn't like the sound of silence that much, but she was stubborn too. So she didn't speak or made any puns, for a while at least. Probably for the best of whole the army, as she didn't stop when she started to talk. It is, if you haven't seen it already in the entirety of this thread. Well, without breaking the fourth wall even more, they've been ordered to regroup with a "Lady Kerrigan". The woman's name shouted royalty, maybe she was as beautiful as well! Well they were going to find out. After a little timeskip later, they would arrive to the scene with the Angelii army behind them. Yet it seemed they were a bit late for the party as the two already started. Looking at the scene, she wanted to say something. "Well, kark." So she had to return her gaze to the authorities.

"What do we do now?" In her voice there was no sign of any comedic value, it was serious Elincia at her best. One could say the sight scared her a bit, even though she wasn't a person that would be easily scared. She was some kind of a goddess after all, no one would wear those ugly clothes, if you weren't ancient! They were probably going to face this Mystic... uhh... no Mys-something... huh, alright, Mystra the Goddess very soon. Wow, even her thoughts were scared, that was a first. "Guys, I don't know about you but, I think I am a bit...uhh... you know the feeling when you need to chit very badly but you are in a fight so you need to hold it in the entirety of the battle?" She finally admitted, with her very own style. She was nowhere in the same level with this creature, and she knew it perfectly well. But of course, she wasn't going to back down from a fight as it wasn't her style as well.

“You must feel good about yourself, taking your weapons from the stars and trampling my primitive children. The thrill you must get as they fire their lead slugs and arrows and you reply with laser and explosive. Oh yes, the valiant conquerors, defeating an enemy confined 10,000 years in the past technologically and to a small cave on an insignificant world. My congratulations, oh new Queen, for I suspect you had this job in mind for yourself,” Mystra said scathingly.

As Siobhan unleashed a blast of power like a tidal wave, Mystra replied in kind. The two waves of power met in the centre of the room and burst outward in a shattering feedback to all sides.
Mystra was knocked from the sky, but rose, her eyes blazing with purple light.

The columns of the great hall though had not been as fortunate, several of them snapping outright whilst others shifted. The roof rained down dust and small stones.

“A pity, you have great power, false Queen. It will be a shame to bury you!”

A great howling wind of the Dark Side arose from Mystra’s hand and was sent screaming and wailing directly at Siobhan and her friends. It was a wind, but of no natural origin, it sought to tear the life from any in its radius and replenish Mystra’s own power. Drain Life in a whirlwind, essentially.

Tempest

Tempest saw it coming and looked to Siobhan frantically. She’d been knocked down by the meeting blasts, but her armour had protected her from any harm.
“For what we’re about to receive, may the Goddess find us worthy,” an Angelii muttered.
“Quiet! All of you, help the Countess. Give her your power so she can shield us!” she called.

"Who was it who kept your people bound in chains of ignorance and let them subsist as primitives? You. You are nothing but a parasite, a leech. You could have led your people to greatness, but you failed. You are a failure. Time to send you to your mother."

The epic Force waves clashed in the centre of the wide chamber. There was an epic crash, a sound like the end of times when the impact produced a tremendous Force explosion. The very foundations of the chamber shook as if struck by tremors, cracks appeared in the ground and the walls trembled. Such was the power that Siobhan had to anchor herself to the ground to avoid being blasted away.

Mystra had fallen from her lofty heights in the sky and been brought down to earth. Dust and stoned rained down from the roof, colums twisted and here and there broke. However, the Xioquo demigoddess unleashed her own terrible power.

A great, howling whirlwind swept towards Siobhan and her allies. Siobhan suddenly felt her power being grained as Mystra latched on to her like a leech or vampire. It was like she was being pulled into a draining maelstorm. Horrible agony gripped her body and spirit. She summoned the Force to encase herself in a protective cocoon and shield her comrades, but this distracted her to a degree that she was gripped by the wind and violently flung around the chamber like a ragdoll.

There was a loud crash when she was slammed into a column with enough force it broke and crumbled. Bones snapped inside her. Her vision threatened to turned black as the draining tendrils grabbed her body...but then as the wind sought to grab her she simply...willed herself to stay put. The Firemane got to her feet. Her body ached and her battered crimson armour was covered in dust, but she stood. The Force gave her voice a booming quality as it carried across the room. "Let me educate you, girl. I am the Storm. I am Power Incarnate, and I will break you."

Strong winds raged around her and howled like the cry of a wrathful goddess, a portion of the roof crumbled and the chamber shook under the massive pressure. The power of the Dark Side swelled up inside her and her eyes turned into twin obsidian orbs, drinking greedily from the fountain of power. A very familiar hunger rose inside Siobhan. One that refused to be denied and so she once again became the eye in the storm. A foul, blasphemous word spoken in the Dark Tongue left her bruised, blood-stained lips. Then suddenly a mass yellowish-orange tendrils of consuming energy leapt from her hands and swam through the air, crossing the distance between her and Mystra. Her power swept forth like a hurricane, with her at the centre of it. The Xioquo's Force Drain onslaught had produced an equal counter from Siobhan, and the mutual onslaught blossomed into a massive storm of darkside energies. In the process, the maelstorm was turning into a death vortex that would consume anything it came into contact with.

It had been surprisingly easy to reach the secret vault. Perhaps Zyanya should not have been surprised, for her people had larger concerns than hunting down a wanted fugitive who was probably believed dead.

Such as the two rampaging mad goddesses. The strange sky woman had taken a look at the items, then let her have the artefacts without protest. She probably thought this 'small victory' would mollify her a bit. Qual'Zyanya hated her already.

"I have everything. Let us move. I know a shortcut out of the tunnels," she said blandly, trying to keep the anxiety out of her voice. She would have to remain composed. Even if all around her the entire civilisation of the Xioquo was turning to ash.

The sky woman nodded. Then suddenly the entire cavern was shaken by tremendous quakes. The roof rained down dust and small stones, cracks appeared in the stone ground and the walls trembled. "Myrou. The Dark Goddess," one of the rebel janissaries spoke, her voice a mixture of awe and fear.

Zyanya was already disgusted. "She's no goddess, girl," she snapped harshly. "Just a malevolent monster." There were no gods. Only two megalomaniacal women who demanded worship to satisfy their own ego.

"Ladies, save the theological debate for later. Move on. Zyanya, you know the way." The sky woman's voice was cold, harsh. Like the crack of a whip. It reminded Zyanya of her mother's. To take orders from her was demeaning...but she could be patient. Her heart was black with a deep-seated rage.

I shall swallow my pride and be the knife that strikes in the dark when you least expect it. One day we shall rise again and I will have my revenge, she thought to herself. Perhaps the alien could bypass her mind shield and read her thoughts, but she probably expected this anyway. "Yes. Follow me."

The power in the room wasn't like anything she had felt before. The pull of the darkside beckoning to her but she denied it, and would from this day forth. But this was Abaigeal's destiny not any of the other, and regardless of the distinctions between them all, they would all be family no matter what. The power of both Mystra and Sio set the room electric with the force, there would be no escaping the some of it effecting those in the room that would witness this.

Abaigeal held firm as Mystra's storm hit them all hard, the pain from her mother only serving to set her resolve and the want to protect those around her only strengthened her in mind and body. It would regardless of the physical inflicted injuries, there is more to love then this it empowers those that give and receive it. However, the power of Mystra would grip them all, flinging Abaigeal to the side and sending her sliding along the floor until she was stopped by a wall with hard contact. Her back felt the pain of the impact and winded her in the process. Trying to draw in breath was hard as the air was thick with dust and debris but she pulled herself up off the floor. Abaigeal would not stand idol in this fight, not when those she loved are here and equally in danger.

Sio's power pulled them all, feeding off her in a sense and when the vortex formed Abiageal knew what to do in order to help as best she could. Much of the room destroy and falling in on them, would now serve to use in attack. Using the force Abaigeal began to pull the rubble together and directed to the vortex feeding it with large pieces of stone, one after the other, using both her hands to direct the projectiles into the swirling power that wrapped around this evil creature.

It was difficult for her to concentrate, the darkness still attempted to leak into her mind, it was all to familiar and her headaches she once had under the influence of Kaine began to return. She fought against them, pulling as much light to her as possible in this place filled with darkness, it would be easy to simply give in to it, easier .. and then, she felt different, a sudden surge of the light side of the force began to churn within the core of her body. It was unstable, raw and powerful and demanded an outlet save it would explode from the girl. For a moment, Abaigeal was set in fear having never felt this before, it was intoxicating as the once she had felt in the depths of darkness but no, it was not this. It was the unbridled raw power of the light side ..

The concentration of power in the room was tremendous and awe-inspiring. An oily sense of dread, despair and suffering suffused the air. Jedi would have lamented the pull of the Dark Side, but Angelii did not subscribe to such beliefs. Nonetheless, Kaida could not deny that the presence within this chamber was pure evil. Malevolent. Primal. Hungry. Mystra was a perversion. Her aura radiated nothing but a desire to consume and dominate. Even if the Angelii loathed the pompous human who was trading insults and heavy blows with her. How ironic that both of them were so alike. However, she had her duty and she would fulfil it, no matter what the cost. That was what being an Angelii was about.

The great howling wind gripped Angelii and thrust them around with bone-crushing force. Kaida did not remain unscathed, for she was flung through the darkened hall, impacting upon the ground before crashing into a wall. The physical pain she felt upon impact was nothing compared to that caused by the deaths of her fellow battle sisters as she felt their lives being extinguished. The draining onslaught was getting out of control, feeding upon them.

"Angelii, form up. Join your powers with mine and support Lady Kerrigan. Our foe is but mortal," she shouted to make herself heard. Red-hot needles sliced through her mind as the dark power sought to reduce her brain to jellie.

You cannot prevail,
she will lead you to your doom.
She will consume you as well.
Why die for a human?
You hate her.

Kind of, yeah, It was difficult to concentrate, for even trying to call upon her Sciia seemed to cause her pain, as if her command of it was stifled. However, she was not alone. The power of the surviving Angelii in the hall flowed through her, using her as a conduit. While the vortex swept across the hall, Kaida drew upon her power to agitate the moisture in the air and manipulate it. A cold chill descended upon the hall, then it turned bitter cold as if one were exposed to a snowstorm on Hoth. Ice would spread across Mystra as Kaida poured her power into turning the daemon into an ice statue, beginning with ice binds being wrapped around her limbs. She was rather dubious about this lasting for long, but it should slow her down a bit.

The Angelii army was there, and they were there to support Lady Kerrigan, who was indeed more powerful and beautiful than the stories talked about. Yep, there were stories about this particular woman and she was always curious about who she was. Elincia loved stories as she had her own fantasy world as well, and now seeing the real deal, one could say Elincia was fangirling so hard right now. Anyway, it wasn't the time to get lost in her fangirling now, as they still had a ugly clothed dark Goddess to destroy. She was indeed a strong one and Elincia was wrong to underestimate her, as her brain hurt like it was about to explode, and she could hear some disturbing whispers, but she wasn't a good listener. It was a headache, and nothing more for her as her Force powers weren't good enough to translate anyway. The aura had a pressure on her chest, it was difficult to breathe. And she was thrown here and there, opening new wounds and bleeding the old ones. Well, now listing those she realized she was hurting a lot!

She looked around, her breath deeper and deeper as she tried her best to control. And then she saw the ice lady rallying the remaining soldiers that weren't effected or dead by Mystra's twisted ways. So, gathering a bit strength from the ground she managed to stand and move towards the ice lady. She saw her slowly freezing her as small ice particles started to appear in her various places, that gave her an idea. She called upon her Sciia, feeling a great pain that she thought it was the job of the Goddess again yet she could manage to create her so famous ice spears, and aimed towards the places that the ice lady was freezing, linking with her attack. Everything hurt more when you were cold, right? So these ice spears would bring extra damage over the Goddess and actually can hurt her, even a little damage would become their advantage. So, after gaining enough strength she threw of the ice spears according to plan towards her. Releasing the Sciia was a relief and she could actually breathe a bit better after that attack.

“I kept? I let? I have slept for all these years because my children were weak and timid, fearing to wake me because they feared my reaction. And they were right to do so, they have failed me. It matters not, I will remake them, and after you are gone I will remake all this world.”

She certainly didn’t lack for ambition!

Into the minds of all there came insidious words. They varied for every person, and of course those with stronger mental defences were less enchanted than those who were not so mentally strong.

For the Angelii the voice was cunning, whispering words of such sense and reasonableness…or so it seemed.
‘Do not trust Siobhan, she does not have the best wishes of the Eldorai in mind. She is a snake in the grass, worming her way into everyone’s confidence so that one day she can take power. Is that not what she is doing here? First the Qadiri, now the Xioquo. The Eldorai are next, you must protect your Queen, I am your last chance to stop her. She is growing to be a very great threat. Do not seal your fate!’

Nonsense of course, but some might be convinced as the words had the Force behind them.

Vaena Askari shook her head, her loud voice rising.
“Stand firm, sisters, we do the Goddess’ work this day! This witch may whisper mistruths in your head, but do not forget the oath you swore to your Queen and people! Stand firm and join in defeating this foe!”

One Angelii was not pacified though, Wing Leader Vorae looked up at Siobhan and drew her Sarix. Unfortunately there was a certain [member="Kaida Taldir"] in her way. She raised her blade to strike her battle sister from behind.

To Abaigeal the voice was different.
‘Look at your ‘mother’ how can you let her use the Dark whilst you remain a servant of the Light? They are polluted, corrupted, you are no Jedi if you allow them to remain in Darkness.’

For Tempest the words were stinging.
‘Another glorious victory for Siobhan is coming. I would watch your defences, you know what happens when she wins. So many great victories paved with the corpses of the slain. Do not trust her, for one day you may threaten her, and she abides no rival. None can rival her majesty, or they will be crushed.’

Tempest growled low in her throat. “Siobhan is a thousand times you, monster. She is my friend, my Mistress forever, and I will never forsake her.”
With that she called on all her power to strike Mystra.

Mystra though had little time to gloat though as she was hit by the power of the Dark, the Light and the elements.

From Siobhan came great energies seeking to drain her essence, which for Mystra was all she had.
From Aba came the power of the Light, something which burned Mystra as it had all those millennia ago against Tylania.
From the Angelii and Tempest came the power of the elements. Fire, stone, lightning and ice assailed the Goddess and battered her defences.

“She’s weakening! Keep going!” Tempest shouted, directing even more of her power into the monster.

Is that not what she is doing here? First the Qadiri, now the Xioquo. The Eldorai are next, you must protect your Queen, I am your last chance to stop her. She is growing to be a very great threat. Do not seal your fate!’

The treacherous, insidious voice whispered into her mind. No matter how hard she tried to shield it, the voice would not fall silent. It would be easy to dismiss the words as lies...but the truth was that Kaida agreed.

There was no love lost between her and Siobhan. The human was arrogant, pompous and egotistical. Her road to glory had been soaked in blood and paved with corpses she trampled over, without ever giving those who died because of her any thought. Where some people saw a hero or a doting mother, Kaida could see very little that could be considered sympathetic...yet people idolised her. Force, she loathed the woman.

Why then did Kaida not turn her blade against her? The reason was simple: The woman whispering into her mind was a megalomaniacal psychopath with delusions of being a goddess. The Seraph was not a marionette whose strings could be pulled by a deluded tyrant.

"Angelii, stand firm," then suddenly she was struck by pain when Vorae's sarix struck. The blade, emblematic of the Angelii order, slashed into her side, sliding down her battered phrik armour and cutting into a joint near the hip. Pain gripped her like a vice and Kaida fell to the ground. But before the traitor could strike, the Seraph's yellow lightsabre ignited and surged upward, cutting through the woman's jaw like through creamy butter and slicing into her brain. Kaida...actually felt regret.

"Sorry, sister," she said quietly. She was unable to get back to her feet and one of her battle sisters tried to drag her from the front of the line. "Anyone who breaks their oath will perish. Angelii, throw everything you have at the demon. Kill her. For Kaeshana."
