Twins Are Common, Aren't They?

In some ways [member="Darben Skirae"] was right. She could be seen as a hero to some. But was she really? Yes she was elected as the leader of Commenor, but re-establishing the monarchy was not done in a good way. It was brought on by death, a result of months of torture that had turned her into a shell of her former self. Yet that had changed. Veiere helped her find her way again and she had dedicated herself to making up for the crimes she had committed with a life in servitude to her people. Everything was done for them. The CSA was created for them.

Thankfully Darben changed the subject. "I imagined myself alone for always. But it didn't eork out that way. Not all that we imagine for ourselves comes true. Be thankful to have Renla and everything else here. Then maybe when you least exoect it, your soul mate may find you."

Darben Skirae couldn't help but roll his eyes at that. Soul mates? He did not believe in those. "Sorry to say, but I don't believe in soul mates." He glanced over at Renla, and smiled. "Looks like she's back at the twins...I should get to work soon, trade business and such things. Busy work" he said. He started to stand up from his seat, but not before turning and thanking [member="Lady Kay"]. He looked to Renla, and wondered if she wanted to leave. By how interested she was in the babies, he doubted she would.

"Thank you Kay, for the invitation. They are adorable, your twins" he said. For a quick moment, after a glance at the tea, he took one last sip to empty the cup. "Also, good tea. Really good tea."

Kay gave [member="Darben Skirae"] a little smile before taking another sip of her tea. She had made him a bit uncomfortable. Not believing in a soul mate was normal. In time he may come to understand. But that won't happen until he connects to someone in a way that transcends the physical.

She didn't hold him back though. Sure he probably had a lot of work to do, given that Kay had less on her plate due to the twins. "You're welcome. We have stocks of the tea in the kitchens. It's Sapir tea. And thank you for coming, both of you."

Kay didn't rush them to the door. She'd let them go on their own accord. Right now she just watched her two sleeping newborns.

Darben nodded to [member="Lady Kay"], then started to get on his way. Renla spotted him leaving, and held onto his arm to hold him there. He was right, she didn't want to leave. He sighed, then turned back to Kay. "Is it...is it okay if she stays here for a bit?" he asked to her. "If she causes any trouble, I can have Mia come get her." He waited for her to answer, looking down at Renla who seemed very impatient and did not want to leave. He was sure that she would be good, and Mia could get there quickly if needed.

Kay looked over to the curious display of Renla holding [member="Darben Skirae"] in his spot. It wasn't what she had expected. The girl had taken a liking to the twins in an enexpected way. "Renla's more than welcome to stay. I could probably use the extra pair of hands when they wake up." She smiled to the girl, pleased that she'd taken such an interest. It was nice to see her coming out of her shell more. "I'll be sure to have her dropped off at home later."
