She smiled, really wishing she could just hug and express to Sari how happy she felt for her. But this was only part of the feat... She had to make sure everything went alright for nine months.

"So, you want to do anything to pass time while they begin to grow?"

"Well, I want to travel. I want to gain new knowledge, meet new people. Learn everything I can. That way, they'll know that their mother has been everywhere for them." SARI rubbed her stomach. "I want you to come with me, Cassie. We can do it together."

"Well..." She paused, thinking things over. "I could never say no to you. But let's not forget to stay solid-state... That way, I can hug you and you can feel how much I lo..." She paused there for a moment: was it even possible to love an AI, no matter how sentient it was? An intriguing thought... but she wasn't ready to say such yet. "You'll enjoy physical connection."

Nodding in agreement, SARI patted Circe's head. "Thanks, Cassie. I love you too." She grinned widely. Circe was one of her only friends. It was only natural to love her. A.I.s may be synthetic, but they could still think and feel as any other.

"Well..." She paused, thinking for a moment. "Where would you like to go first?" She smiled, considering whether or not to give another hug to the digitized AI. "I'm curious as to what's number one on your 'do while pregnant' list."

"I hear that Taris is pretty lively this time of year," SARI replied happily.

She smiled, giving another hug to the solid-state AI. "Well... In that case, get yourself uploaded to my ship's computer. I'll bring your mobile solid-state projector and we can head to Taris." She smiled. "Maybe I can show you some more physical sensations."

SARI's form vanished once more. She went back to the cockpit of the ship and began laying in the coordinates. As the children grew in the later months, she'd have to get used to sticking to one place. But for now, traveling from console to console shouldn't be a problem.

And with that, their journey began. Circe had approximately three months to spend with her AI friend before the first stage of this process - accretion - completed, and the second stage of stasis initialized. When that happened. things would truly start to get different for Sari... but through the entire process, Circe would give her experiment the love and adoration it - no, she - deserved.
