Two Bright Lights - Trial of Skill - Asaak Tey

Jedi_Temple_Sparring_Chamber_-_TFU.jpg

It was time. Rasu still couldn't believe that her Padawan, Asaak Tey, had grown so fast. From beginning her training on Coruscant to seeing it coming to a close here on Voss, Rasu was thrilled to have been a part of the young Togruta's life. Although just because the girl would be taking her trials, wouldn't mean that the Togruta would be out of reach forever. Rasu had vowed that her relationships with her students would carry on far after their Knighting, and the Shi'ido was confident that this would hold true with Asaak.

The pair had been through much together, what with her kidnapping and torture at the hands of the Sith, and with the many journeys they had embarked on together, Rasu was sure that their friendship would not vanish like that. However there was some doubt within the woman, fearing that if letting Asaak go would mean that the pair wouldn't be as close as they had been in the past, then she would rather keep the Togruta a Padawan for eternity than give her up. "No, this was going to happen. You prepared yourself for this." she muttered, chiding herself. The trials were to commence, and Rasu couldn't be prouder. All that was needed was the arrival of Asaak, and her opponent in this trial, [member="Sochi Ru"].

[member="Asaak Tey"]

Asaak walked slowly through the Temple, letting her eyes run over filigrees and bends in the architecture she was already coming to know like the back of her hand. To see that place restored from the ground up had been a privilege and she only hoped she could fill it with more memories, more success along with her fellow Silver Jedi. But she was on her way to meet with Rasu Gan to begin her journey to do just that.

The day she would begin her trails had always been in the back of her mind but it had seemed a dream, some faraway proof of all her hard work. All she had been through had kept her occupied, and now that the day was finally here to begin her tests she was nervous. It was an excited energy though – she knew she was ready. Maybe not for the tests themselves as she had been given advice that she would never truly be ready, but she felt she was: ready to adapt, to face the challenge and change to greet it head on.

Thinking of her Master brought a small smile to her face. She was sad to think of their friendship changing, but when she truly thought about it, that wasn’t true. [member="Rasu Gan"] would always be her teacher, her mentor, her comfort and – most importantly – her friend. Where ever they might travel in the Galaxy, Asaak would always come to her aid.

She swept in to one of the great rooms where training took place, the atmosphere calm. She soaked it up, drinking in the silent reassurance. She spotted the Shi’ido not far off and let her smile take over, moving to meet her. “Hello Master – I can’t believe this day is here,” she said simply.

Ru had offered her services to Rasu, she would aid in the trials of her Padawan, Asaak Tey; a wonderful student she had come to know. This was her day to partake in her first trial of Knighthood. This day Sochi had worn a cream backless top with a deep V-front (that shows her both bare back and shoulders) and brown straps around her midriff that accentuated her chest and bellybutton. She had a light brown loincloth and homemade bikini bottom. She also sported bit of gray cloth wrapped around her feet (that shows both her bare toes and heels) and most of it around both leg calves (that shows her right knee) and left forearm (with a couple silver spikes on it). Brown straps she's tied around her lekku and montrals.

She walked through the doors of the training room where she would meet the two women. Sochi was honestly honored to participate, she knew that Asaak had been trained by the best, and would become one of the best. Today would be a demonstration of her skills; Ru was sure she had it in the bag.

"Greetings you two, today is the day." She said.

It was not long before both Togruta arrived, with Asaak entering the chamber followed by Sochi. Rasu's jaw dropped as her friend entered the trial chamber, her eyes quickly scanning the quirky garments that her fellow Master had adorned. Rasu had not thought in Sochi to appear in such revealing garbs, it even made the Shi'ido blush slightly to be in witness of so much of her friends skin. However if this was Sochi's way of intimidating Asaak, then Rasu was quite confident that it would work, having already affected the Shi'ido in a similar way.

Smiling to them both, she made her way over to Asaak, hoping to share some last minute advice with her before leaving her to the care of Sochi. Placing both hands upon the Togruta's shoulders, she looked into the woman's eyes. "You have no idea how proud I am of you my dear. You are indeed ready for this." she said before bending close to the woman as whispered, "Remember, the Force is your ally today. Trust it and it will hold nothing back from you. May the Force be with you [member="Asaak Tey"]." she said, walking away to join her dear friend Sochi.

Clasping her fellow Master's hand, she greeted the woman. "Thank you for coming. She is indeed ready for whatever you throw at her." she said, smiling as she lowered her voice so that only the Togruta could hear. "Don't hold back." she said, before making her way to the upper level of the trial chamber, leaving the pair on the chamber floor. Sitting herself in the control chair, she stretched out her hands as she placed them upon the control panel, pressing buttons and pulling switches as lights were turned on with a soft hum as the lower floor was lit. Placing her mouth close to a small mic piece, she spoke into it, her voice echoing throughout the chamber. "Good luck Asaak. Let the trial begin." she said, leaning forward as she caught sight of the pair through the observation pane.

[member="Sochi Ru"]

Asaak could remember well the first time she met [member="Sochi Ru"]. There had been a lot of reasons to be excited: it had been her first mission on which her Master did not accompany her and therefore a chance to prove she was learning, the woman was a close friend of her Master, and most exciting of all? Sochi was the first of her fellow Togruta that Asaak had met within the Republic. It had been inspiring to see how far she too might go. The mission had been harrowing, a challenge that not one person involved had expected, but they had made it out and Asaak had grown to trust Sochi implicitly. She also had vast respect for the Master’s use of the Force and thought it superbly fitting (if more than a little nerve-wracking) that she was to duel Sochi as part of her trials.

So when the Togruta master came striding in, dressed in something Asaak identified easily as inspired by the warriors of their home planet, a big grin plastered itself on her face. She gave a slight bow before responding. “It is Master Ru – you look amazing,” she said with a hint of awe in her voice. It was a pleasant shock to see the stoic, calm woman she’d come to expect transformed in to something out of her childhood tales of warrior queens.

As if reading her mind [member="Rasu Gan"] offered words that instantly brought Asaak back to her sense of calm. She felt a sharp, poignant stab of bittersweet emotion as the Shi’ido, as always, said what felt like just the right thing. She looked back and nodded at the advice, determination etched in her expression and emotion gluing her mouth shut for once. Thankfully, Rasu seemed to understand and moved off to confer with Master Ru. Asaak took the time to clear her mind, pushing aside nerves or worry and just feeling the Force as the lifelong friend she had finally learned to connect with.

It seemed that in no time the lights beneath their feet were buzzing on, a faint background hum that served to help her concentrate. She moved to stand across from Sochi, shedding her robes so she stood in a tight, mid-riff bearing cream tank-top and matching pants. Her feet were bare. Her lightsaber was at her hip and she was ready to ignite it, but…that wasn’t the path she had chosen. Her destiny lay in the Force, to use her gift to sense and feel and protect.

It was time to begin.

Sochi could feel what Rasu was thinking when she walked in the room, she felt rather humbled by the thoughts of her friend. Though Sochi hadn't thought time seeing as she often wore these garments when she was on Shili, or Felucia; they payed homage to her homeworld, and seeing as this was a great day of importance for a fellow of her race, she thought it necessary. It would seem Asaak thought the same, but Ru was sure she would see her tribute within these garments of hers.

She smiled content lay when Rasu came and grasped her hands, they had come so far, and it seemed now, everything they had done was intertwined, their apprentices were even great friends.

"Its my pleasure, and you know I won't. I'm sure she's more than ready." She said with a subtle smile, watching as the Shi'ido walked away.

She walked closer to the potential Knight and was greeted with a compliment, to which made her smile, she bowed in return to show her respect as well. She came to be across from the young woman, and everything was signaled by the voice of Rasu,

"Thank you for your words, it seems it is time to begin, you'll do fine." she said offering a few soft words before they began.

She held up her lightsaber hilt in her right hand, it remained in its dormant state, but the entire time she was utilizing Force Channel to strengthen her connection to the force.

[member="Asaak Tey"]
[member="Rasu Gan"]

All time for compliments was over when the two squared off against one another. She glanced quickly around the room, searching for anything and everything she might use to her advantage. It was to be a strange test of her progress as Jedi – she had dedicated herself to drawing her saber only as a last resort, to ending conflicts with peace and trying not to resort to more physical means. But that was the entire point of the test and for once she would need to show that if it came down to it, she COULD defend herself. Time to put her scruples aside – and wasn’t that in itself part of the test?

She had, admittedly, never begun a duel. Oh, she’d spent PLENTY of time being attacked, chased, harangued, and beaten upon but she’d never initiated anything. It wasn’t exactly in her nature. But she wasn’t about to let unfamiliarity deter her.

Taking a page out of her friend Moroi’s book she let the Force flow through her and imagined it blasting out of her heels, giving her a boost. She leapt from the lit floor to the top of one of the tall stone sculptures. With one foot on the statue, she used her more focused concentration to lift a few stones she had spotted lying around the edges of the room – the recent completion of the reconstruction of the Temple had left a few things in her favor it seemed. They were not large and not even intended to hurt her fellow Togruta – they glistened slightly in the light and as she sent them hurtling towards the Master she hoped to distract or disorient her with their reflections off the brightly lit surface of the floor as they hurtled around her head.

The Force is your ally today. Trust it, and it will hold nothing back from you.

She trusted, leaping from the statue, the characteristic hum of her saber coming to bear as its green blade ignited. Her natural grace as a Togruta would be no advantage here as Sochi shared the same prowess so she called on Ataru to supplement her physical abilities, flipping through the air to bring her saber to bear against [member="Sochi Ru"].

[member="Rasu Gan"]

As Sochi went to take a couple of steps forwards towards the young woman, she would only see her leaping into the air. As she turned her body to find the final location if where she would land, she only saw her momentarily landing on a stone pillar off to the side. Her eyes widened slightly, and then she saw the launch of small stones. She wouldn't be able to react due to the light reflecting off of them forcing her eyes shut. She turned her head, but when one sense failed another kicked in.

Her passive Farsight ability aided her in perceiving the next course of action, she quickly turned, naturally speeding up her movements and igniting her lightsaber. It produced a cerulean blade that sprouted up to meet the potential knights. The attack was acrobatic it seemed, and Sochi noted the use of Ataru. Ru batted the blade away, and quickly did a force aided back flip to put distance between them.

She landed across the room from the young Togruta, and she slowly stood up. She let go a subtle smile, and then she became much more aggressive when she plunged her saber into the ground beneath them. She had been storing up energy, and sent tremors through the ground in a large radius. The ground shook consistently beneath them and Sochi took off towards the potential knight, braving the trembling ground, then she jumped into the air performing a acrobatic flip, and came crashing down with her blade in a vertical arc towards [member="Asaak Tey"].

[member="Rasu Gan"]

Asaak had always planned – and still did – on getting in touch with [member="Sochi Ru"] and asking for her tutelage on several aspects of the Force. She had an interest particularly in Force Affinity, as since she intended on dueling mainly with the Force she would need to be able to maintain her connection even in a dire situation. But when Master Ru caused an earthquake that consumed the entire room Asaak added THAT particular power to the list of things she wondered if she might get a lesson on – that was fancy!

Not so much when it was being used on her however.

Her legs quaked and she bent at the knees, lowering her gravity and making herself more likely to move with the flow rather than fight it and fall. It did, however, require a great deal of concentration and when she saw the warrior princess Togruta Master looming over her, green blade illuminating her vertical strike, Asaak had to think fast. She had been distracted a second too long and she just let instinct take over. Lifting up her hands she let out the most powerful Push she could with the Force towards Sochi – a feat she had performed countless times, and once to great effect on a mission with Moroi. With any luck it would push the woman off course enough that she would not be bearing down like an avenging angel on Asaak.

But she had to be prepared for the event that Sochi could completely combat her push – it wasn’t unlikely considering the Master’s skill. With the ground still shaking she switched to Makashi. Of the two forms she had practiced she was far, far more skilled in the Way of the Ysalamiri (though ‘more skilled’ was a token term in the girl’s case; the saber was not her strong point). She would need to be as comfortable as possible in her form if she was to defend herself while the ground still quaked beneath her, though she thought she felt the trembling letting up.

She performed a riposte once, twice, and the momentum of Sochi’s downswing was still enough to slide the blades along one another – and just long enough for Asaak to passively admire the tableau they must have been painting, Togruta against Togruta, green lightsaber to green lightsaber – until Sochi’s blade slipped over the hilt of Asaak’s and swiped over the grip and over Asaak’s hand, skinning her just enough to bring a sharp hiss from the hopeful Padawan. She refused to let go of her lightsaber however, holding Sochi off just long enough to find an opening to leap backwards, head over heels to get some distance between herself and the Master.

All else was forgotten, her concentration entirely on Sochi’s next move.

[member="Rasu Gan"]

Asaak's force push was inevitably strong, and had took Sochi off guard, throwing her completely off in mid air. The wave from the force hit Sochi's left side of her body, and throw her entire maneuver off. As she fell in an utter disorientation she had even noticed that their blades still found each other; the sparks were an indication. The Togruta fell into a roll, and stopped moving a couple of feet away. She brought her legs up, and put her hands back, palms on the floor. Doing this she pushed off, and forced herself back up. That's what happens when you underestimate the prowess of an opponent.

Sochi then began using Force Affinity, after settling into her connection she quickly approached the younger Togruta using a combination of both Ataru and Makashi, she lunged forward with her blade towards Asaak, imbuing her weapon with a minor force push with each strike, after her lung she manipulated her lightsaber to strike In a horizontal arc at Asaak, while this happened Ru launched herself into the air, flipping over the Togruta and gripping her lightsaber once again. She landed in a crouched position, and tucked and rolled away.

From the distance she stood back up, and began to channel the air in the room into a medium sized sphere above her head. It was clear in coloration, and when Sochi generated enough energy to form a successful one she launched the force sphere at [member="Asaak Tey"].

[member="Rasu Gan"]

Asaak kept her eyes intently on [member="Sochi Ru"], knowing looking away for even one second was asking to fail in this duel. She was glad that her Force Push had worked as well as it had, but she didn’t give more than a moment’s thought to it – she was concentrating too hard.

Her fellow Togruta was back in a second and Asaak noted the combination of forms. The movements were sharp, fast, and it took all her concentration and work in both styles to block the jabs. It was strange, they seemed almost…and then she realized Sochi must be adding impact to them through the Force. It was not something she’d ever tried herself and she was glad for Sochi’s use of Makashi and Ataru as it was the only thing that allowed her to hold her own until she used a Push back through her own lightsaber, the technique helping her hold her stance until Sochi rolled away from her.

She saw the Master’s hands above her head and knew she had almost no time – they were close to one another despite the space that Sochi had taken from the roll and once she released whatever energy she was gathering it would be on Asaak in seconds.

Unfortunately she couldn’t see whatever it was.

She didn’t let that stop her however, and when Sochi brought her arms forward to release whatever it was she had built up, Asaak quickly clipped her saber to her hip and reached forward with her own hands, concentrating on absorbing the energy. It shook through her palms and as it washed over her she saw in a split second what Sochi had done. She staggered backwards with the force of it, struggling to take in all that Sochi had managed to channel towards her, but she held her ground.

And as soon as she felt she’d taken it all in she whipped it right back at the Master, using all the energy Sochi had taken the time to gather plus the power of her own, imagining the Force – her oldest companion – as a blast of energy radiating outwards from herself, the idle thought that Aika Kawakami would be proud of how freely she gave herself to the Force drifting across her mind.

As soon as the energy had left her she leapt forward, pulling her saber from her hip again and igniting it, holding it horizontally across her body in a guard, closing the distance between herself and the Master to clash once more, hoping she had been caught off guard by the turnaround.

[member="Rasu Gan"]

(Sorry for the wait)

She watched on as her sphere hurled itself towards Asaak, she stood and watched on as the Padawan clipped her lightsaber. She was surprised to see that the Padawan met the move head on, and began the process of absorbing it. If she didn't know any better, Sochi would be looking at a spitting image of herself when she was a Padawan. Rasu had done well; but she wouldn't have doubted it,

She nodded slowly, and rooted for her opponent in silence. Then she settled into a stance as the energy she sent was released back at her, she didn't falter and her facial expressions were consistently non chalant. She injected a force barrier I front of her that would hold off the sphere, until it dispersed. This took some time before, and eventually shattered the barrier.

It definetly took her by surprise how creative and strong the Togruta was in the force, while she regrouped from the clash of energies, she seen some feet in front of her the Padawan attempting to make a move, but this was her Passive ability of Farsight warning her just minutes before. When the potential knight struck out for her, Sochi erupted in a wave of force energy; a repulse. It was her strongest, and its purpose was only to knock [member="Asaak Tey"] back.

Asaak had stumbled on force barriers quite by accident on a mission with Moroi, a power that had – much like all its manifestations before her discovery by the Jedi – happened out of necessity, and she was glad to see it put to use so strongly by [member="Sochi Ru"]. It just showed all the possibilities of her own future.

Such ruminations however, were abruptly cut short by a sudden blast of energy sending her tumbling backwards, soaring through the air (ladies and gentleman, the amazing Flying Togruta!) as the repulse lifted her off her bare feet. She managed to land more gracefully than she’d flown through the room, finding her feet and leaning down with a hand to support herself as she slid a few yards backwards.

Somehow, Sochi seemed to be able to call all her movements before she made them. Asaak had a feeling that no matter what she did, even if she tried some technique that required little movement, the Master would cut her off at the pass. So maybe overwhelm her? Give her multiple things to think about at once, perhaps make her concentrate enough to catch her off guard with a second move? It was worth a try.

Telekinesis was her strongest suit and she would use that to her advantage – it would require less of her and she could be more creative.

As she gave the motion thought she had been gathering her energy, keeping her mind clear and her body free of give-away movement, trying her best to give herself a shot at giving the far-sight practitioner a surprise. With all the power she had been gifted with she shot out with the Force, using it directly, imagining a fist extending from her to knock Sochi off her feet, a jackhammer of energy. If the Master’s precognition worked as Asaak assumed it would, the punch would perhaps not have its full intended effect but that was okay – she had chosen the tactic specifically because it could be used as soon as she hit the ground, giving her fellow Togruta less time to think.

She doubled that impact by lifting her lightsaber from her side, igniting it before taking hold of it with the Force and rocketing it forward for the Master. Every tactic was meant to overcome the distance that Sochi had put between them, and quickly enough to consume her opponent’s concentration. She focused on the saber, ready to move it in the air to meet the Master’s green blade, or call it back to her side as she started moving back towards Sochi Ru.

[member="Rasu Gan"]

She stood with her eyes squinted, she was trying to see what moves would happen next. Her passive ability had begun its work,, and it surely showed her multiple outcomes, but which one would be the truth. She couldn't make a decision just yet, as Asaak held on to her poker face. So far her prowess was showing and she had been trained well, a mental message she had sent to Rasu.

Then as she took a step forward intending to take off, she saw that the potential knight had generated energy that was to be launched. The wave was of considerable force, and then this was one of many outcomes she had envisioned. She reacted by holding her position, planning to erect a barrier.

She stood firm, and waited for the wave to reach her, and her focus on this maneuver had blinded her to the next, as she briefly erected a barrier between herself and the wave of energy. Both of her hands were up to concentrate and balance out the energies. Then from above she saw the young Togrutas green blade flying at an arc to attack her.

Ru faltered and turned her attention to the blade, she turned and threw her hand out to cut the blade off a foot before it reached her hand, nod as she proceeded to grab it, she was blow back from the wave of energy that she sent initially. As she was lifted off her feet and throw across the floor, the young woman's lightsaber hadn't made contact with her hand, and so they were both launched. Sochi slowly got up, nodding as it was an impressive move; she was completely throw off. A little creativity can take you an extremely long way,

She shook it off, there was a new ability she had been studying for quite some time. She concentrated her energy from within her body, and then erupted into a bright, blinding flash of light. All the while she brought both of her hands up and sent a wave of force energy towards her.

[member="Asaak Tey"]

Asaak still had her hands up from pushing out the Force in a wave when the Master’s hand reached up as if to grab for her lightsaber. Though the Knight hopeful had worked with Aika Kawakami to rely more on the Force and less on her saber, it was instinct not to lose the blade or become disarmed. She could still vividly remember every detail of the mission to Ilum with [member="Rasu Gan"], the sense of peace that finding that small little crystal she knew so immediately was hers, and she couldn’t let Sochi get her hands on it – Jedi Master or not!

She called it back, its hilt narrowly missing Sochi’s grasp but finding its home in Asaak’s just as the Master was blown backwards.

There was no time between Sochi regaining her feet and the bright blast of light that poured from the Master Togruta’s body. It was beautiful but blinding and Asaak could see nothing of her opponent, having to shield her eyes. [member="Sochi Ru"] could have been doing anything in that brilliant burst of light and Asaak’s first reaction was to protect herself, clipping her saber once more at her hip and bring both hands up to erect a barrier as strong as she could make it, preparing for any onslaught.

It was just in time too as she felt the wave hit the barrier she’d erected, billowing out over it like water cresting a wall, and suddenly Asaak was blown on to her back, holding up her hands and desperately holding on to the barrier she'd managed to erect. Her arms were bending at the elbow under the power of the Master's wave - she needed to distract her, stop the onslaught, just even be able to see the Master again. The disadvantage of being temporarily blinded was crippling her. She was using her montrals to try and gauge Ru’s position when an idea struck her, a glimpse of the first thing her Master had ever shown her and she’d worked so hard to emulate and train with during the rest of her time as a Padawan.

Asaak had a rudimentary idea of where her fellow Togruta was as the sense of movement of the Master’s arms to send out the wave of energy had registered through Asaak’s echolocation. With a look of determination on her face, Asaak concentrated on altering the air around Sochi, increasing the pressure. The goal was not to hurt Sochi, but change the pressure within her montrals, much like how air pressure made a human’s eardrums burst. It was an intensely unpleasant sensation and one Asaak hoped would distract the Master enough to stop channeling the blinding light that hindered every move Asaak could make.

(I apologize [member="Asaak Tey"])

She was proud to see that Asaak was displaying a great amount of skill, and not falling, or faltering under any of the distractions and obstacles to come her way. Her blinding light held up well, and served its purpose as a momentary distraction. After performing yet another force wave, she moved forward slowly, not wanting to approach to fast. She was already caution of the creative Togruta.

As she momentarily progressed closer and closer to the potential knight she could clearly tell she had erected a force barrier. Her secondary passive ability was one she wouldn't have thought to be a target. She didn't notice the obstacle being placed before her until her senses; her echolocation was being disrupted.

Her eyes shot up as she noticed the air above her whipping, the subtle noise was what distracted dyer, and her guard was slowly being let down. Then there was loudness, but only heard by her it would seem. The unpleasant feeling made its presence known rather quickly. This was a skill she would have never expected to be displayed.

Her face cringed from the subtle, annoying pain that was clinging to her, she knees bent slightly. The bright flash of light would slowly dim, more and more. She placed her hand on the side of her head.

[member="Rasu Gan"]

(Not a problem!!)

The dimming of the Master’s light could not have come at a better time – as her opponent drew closer Asaak could feel her power waning under [member="Sochi Ru"]’s. She was creative and determined but it took every ounce of both of those things to even stand a chance against a Jedi Master with Sochi’s prowess and experience. She couldn’t let her success make her feel comfortable – the myriad of unfamiliar force tactics her fellow Togruta had used so far just proved she could never be totally prepared.

As the light dimmed Asaak called on all the energy she possibly could (and wouldn’t now be the perfect time to have gotten that Force Affinity training from Sochi earlier?), lurching to her feet and even dropping her barrier so that she might use every ounce of the Force available to her. Once more she unleashed it in a torrent, her arms nearly shaking with the current she allowed to wash from her, a concentrated blast of her gift like another punch. She stopped altering the air around Sochi just in time to imbue every ounce of her strength in to the maneuver, having held it as long as she could to buy her the distraction.

Just as she released what she always thought of as a “force-punch” she sprinted forward, using the rudimentary basics of force speed to propel her towards the Master who’d hopefully been distracted enough to allow the attack to get to her. Asaak’s blade once more ignited in her hand as she leapt, knees curled toward her body in classic, old-fashioned Ataru, her lightsaber held vertically in front of her body. Despite the full-bodied nature of her bearing down, she was prepared to make a descent from the air – she’d learned the first time. But her last move had been one that in a fight against someone who wasn’t testing her for Knighthood – someone who was out for blood – she meant to lay them flat on their back, make them vulnerable, ask for surrender if it were possible.

She may have come to [member="Rasu Gan"] a brawler, a fierce little scrapper, but she’d been shaped to a peace-loving Jedi.

She stood forward and took the telekinetic hit on straightforward. She erected a small barrier that would only suppress some of the damage, and allow her to recover quicker. Taking the strong "punch" through the force picked her off her feet, which she then turned into a back flip mid air in order to get back on her feet and avoid falling. Though it proved successful she then stumbled back a little. She then stood straight up only then to see the Togruta flying through the air, lightsaber in hand coming for her with her blade which was positioned vertically.

Sochi needed to react quickly she used the force to heightened her reflexes, a for a moment things were just slightly delayed, she straightened out her body, and took quick sidestep to maneuver from the range of the opposing weapon. Then she gripped her blade as she was beginning to strike back in retaliation. This time she imbued her weapon with the force to increase the force behind its strikes. She began utilizing Djem So, reaching out and performing very powerful attacks to overwhelm the Ataru practioner.

She first turned around and brought her a cerulean blade down in a diagonal arc, with speed behind it, and the force there to balance it, and to follow up she added another spin coming from the left, which would be a swooping horizontal attack. Then she hoped from the ground and performed a round kick in the air. That would be the finale of her sequence of moves. They would all flow from one to the other.

[member="Asaak Tey"] [member="Rasu Gan"]

Asaak would have to be a fool to believe [member="Sochi Ru"] would be caught off by her crashing leap of an attack. She'd been on missions with her fellow Togruta where she'd seen the consular duel a six-armed robot assassin and hold her own - Asaak had two arms and one lightsaber and was not even close to the Master's skill.

But she would try!

When she landed, her right arm was facing Sochi and she brought her saber up to meet the diagonal arc of her opponent, spinning out with her left foot to face Sochi. It was a blend of Makashi and Ataru. Though the former was her strong-suit it didn't suit defending herself from the powerful, overwhelming style of Djem So.

She let her the momentum from her turn slide the lightsabers against each other, the loud snapping filling the room. When the spin came she neatly tilted the saber from it's position heading off the diagonal attack - an awkward angle and if it weren't for remembering at the last second to imbue the Force in her movement she may have been dead meat.

And finally another kick - the second it must have taken Sochi to shift gears gave Asaak the chance to lift her hand, pulling at Sochi's leg with the Force, hoping to use the woman's precarious balancing act to hold herself up on one leg to her advantge, hoping to pull her to the ground and hold her saber out to ask for surrender - that was, IF it worked. But she was ready.

[member="Rasu Gan"]

(Sorry for the delay - been a crazy week for me with my summer class. Ugh!)

Their sabers produced sparks continuously as they clashed, there was a brief moment where the two stood still and looked upon one another. They faced one another, in some sort of stalemate, then the action ensued. It would seem Asaak was doing exceptionally well, her skill would show throughout the course of their duel. Ru was sure that she made her master proud.

They would clash again, Djem So against what seemed to be a blend Makashi and Ataru; not a bad selection if used correctly and to accommodate your own set of skills. All her attacks were countered however, the momentum from her heavy attacks could work to the advantage of a user of Makashi if they saw it. Asaak however did, and she cleverly found a way to defend herself.
