Two for Flinching

As he made his way to the other Padawans, Reggie noticed the evil that was coming from the Sith as they drew closer. This wasn't the first time he had faced a sith, but this was the first time he could encounter multiple, and more was at risk here. He felt crushed by their malicious intent, the feelings that were originally discarded slowly coming back to the boys mind.

"You can't help them, you'll just get in the way. Someone will end up getting killed because of you, and you'll have to live with that."

The thought kept going through his mind and grew ever stronger the closer he got to his destination. Fear overwhelming him and on the verge of tears, Reggie almost stopped in his tracks. He was about to give into the fear until his companions came into sight. Seeing them gave him the strength to push forward and remind himself what he was here for.

"You owe them and every other SJO member. Don't let them down."

He caught up the the other Padawans, ready to help them defend against the invaders. Reggie did his best to hide his overwhelming feelings, and focused on the situation at hand.

"Sorry i'm late to the party."

One of the things I'd done upon reaching the planet and establishing my small outpost was threat assessment and there were a few. Namely resources various ne'erdowells would use for ridiculous bio-weaponry The SIth had a semi-predictable habit of using. Certain types had a trend for obtaining samples of muck that created various nasty ghoulies. Matsu Xiangu, while I'd never engaged her personally had a habit of it, as did other Sith. As a result of these trends I'd rigged some surprises in various locations across the planet in the event of attack. These Sith would find out what eventually but part of that surprise was already underway. Really was amazing what one could do to environmental hazards by simply messing with the soil.

I got an update from the War Droids as they approached several ambush points. Still cloaked, I could feel the cats moving towards different positions but also set for an ambush. Based on the fact that there were multiple groups of troops along the beach and air support on high I figured that distraction would be a good idea. Opening the comms on an encrypted chain hack into Silver comms I said "Vespera to all Silver Jedi Personnel I plan on using some rather....Extreme measures here shortly. Keep your ears and eyes open, Vespera out." The one thing The Galaxy at large never seemed to remember was who'd come from Coruscant....Time to send a reminder. Tapping my wrist gauntlet I engaged some pre-recorded tunage I'd planted throughout the forests.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iiNyQD5Yq3E

"Vespera, you copy?" I stopped, well well...what a surprise.... "Seras? That you? Wouldn't happen to be in a helping mood would you?" I kept moving through the trees and decided to ditch the swoop. Jedi or not I primed it to blow as I moved on. "Oh you know me, gotta keep my student in check. Your idea of tunage Andorreth?" Smirking I said "they all just keep forgetting what we're capable of you happen to have one of my cats there by you?" A pause then "I do, I also happen to have brought my own war-droids. One moment Andorreth..." "Silver rest I believe is the name you all have for this area. You'll be having a bit of support in the way of an old friend of Knight Vikar. Good hunting Andorreth."

Smirking I moved to a position where I could set up my rifle. After doping the scope and tying the rifle sensors into my HUD I zoned in on the tree line closer to the beach. Odds were they'd be sending in recon troops along with snipers. Good luck to those guys, they'd have a very hard time finding me let alone my friends. Odds were I'd be taking to the skies once the herds were thinned a bit. I had a feeling that there was something in the skies and it definitely wasn't friendly....

Kei watched and waited outside the temple door, waiting was the hardest part. He exhaled, holding the rifle close, and staying sharp, listening to the exchanges over the comms. These were smarter sith than he was used to. They were taking their time, playing it smart and on their terms. But they were ready for them.

Information on their Sith huds of movement. Yes! And soon in their faces as the guerrilla fighters made themselves known in earnest. Grenades, sniper shots, small arms fire coming from all angles above and from different directions. Wildcards had been digging into the thick tree positions for awhile scattered around the forests, and were reinforced somewhat. The nearest 1,200 men of 3rd battalion were the first to start to be engaged by the sith invaders. Small skirmishes at first, with 1st and 2nd battalions moving to support and flank their positions in time from opposite directions, as 3rd battalion fought a fighting withdrawl. Repositioning took time and it was hard to hide moving some 1,200 men even through these thick tree’s so no doubt the Sith commanders could see large indications on their equipment. If people were awake!

Certainly many of the Sith pods were clear of the sniper positions near the beach but some of the most forward ones deeper in the forests were being opened up from all angles, concentrated small arms fire from the tree’s disturbing them before they even landed, the predators, the traps and invisible slicing or electrifying nets below to catch unaware troopers and damage moral. Animal calls sounded out their predatory howls as all hell was about to break loose on the dangerous levels below. It was a gutsy call to be in the base of these forests on mass, and the veteran wildcards were going to make the Sith pay for every inch before they got anywhere near the temple defenses. The wildcards gear or tech was substandard, but they were older, wiser and better trained than you’d expect from a force this large which made up for it. Tricks and traps, that was their modus operandi, for a start their snipers were taking out officers or commanders as a preference first to further weaken moral.

“3rd Wildcard Battalion reporting in. We have engaged command. Repeat we are engaging Sith Troopers in the forest near the enemy beachhead. We’ll hold them.”

“Standing orders so far are a go. Fighting withdrawl, let them bring the armor into the jungle. Bring 2nd Battalion in to flank them and 1st around to cut off any supply and support the rangers on the opposite side, encircle them as they advance, they've got nowhere to retreat to. Save the AV ammo and missiles for the armor, let the pods drop and hit them when they land.” Command called over the radio. Standard plan, draw them in and hit them in a crossfire from elevated positions. Ultimately it was down to [member="Jessica Med-Beq"] to decide what was going to happen on a wider scale and if the plan needed altering, because she could see more than they could where they were.

[member="Jessica Med-Beq"]

"We'll struggle to crack that armor approaching us Command." Then there were celebrations as artillery and rockets shot toward the beachhead. "Drinks are on me after this!" A certain wildcard 3rd Battalion colonel Vanris tried to banter with Jessica. "Where do you want 6th and 7th battalions command?"

[member="Khonsu Amon"] | [member="Jake Daniels"] | [member="Valkren Calderon"] | [member="Roona Osmari"]

No wildcard had spotted or given word of the clever mercenaries landing as yet, seemingly they had got in to those islands unnoticed by their scouts at least. Maybe the rangers or command had more luck where they were?

Farah’s drop pod had gone awry, separating from the one that had been carrying her Master and another of his Acolytes and carrying her deeper into the jungle. Instead of hurrying to regroup with her people, the Zeltron pressed forward, eager to get her hands on the strange alien bacteria she’d only read about in the archives. She was the opposite of risk adverse, preferring to take calculated chances rather than hang back and let life pass her by. She’d already lost so much time already, never experiencing childhood or any sort of adolescence. Such was the bane of a clone.

Eventually Excidium’s Force signature threaded its way to her, growing rapidly as he approached. “Wait,” She grunted to the troopers who’d escorted her, bringing them to a halt in order to check out a swampy alcove. It wasn’t where the bacteria were supposed to be found, but it was a marker on her map and she wanted to make sure that she had the right one given that there were…many such features dotted along Kashyyyk’s terrain. That, and she’d have an excuse as to why she’d meandered off when the Sith Lord caught up to her.

“To the west.” She ordered after a few minutes of surveying their surroundings, the slight directional shift leading her to converge with the Arch-Magus.

“Lord Excidium,” She approached him with long strides, datapad in hand. “Several kilometers west and we should be in the valley where the bacteria have been cited to live.” No word about how long it took her to regroup or what had happened with the drop pod.

She looked as if she were about to say something else, raising her head with a pause as an unfamiliar signature wove its way through the thick jungle brush. It took a few moments for her to discern its most noticeable feature. Light. Her brow creased, lips twitching into a frown. “Already?” Was her only remark after a few moments of silence. She’d been banking on the commotion to draw the Jedi forces further away.

Objective: Cry of the Nighthawk
Location: In the skies between Kkowir Forest and Hracca Glade
Allies: This stolen ship and the Wookies
Enemies: Sithies and any Silver who tries to stop him

The chatter was getting more intense over the coms. The current scene was mostly troopers and ships right now with no real reports of an individual Sith that wasn't leading those forces. Tristram was getting a little frustrated at hearing that. He wanted to fight Sith not their lackeys and slaves. Why can't they just reveal themselves instead of hiding out in the shadows in the cowards they were? Not that the Jedi were much better right now either. From the reports it seemed they were more focused on the same leading from the back thing as the Sith or were just standing by to guard their temple. Who cared if the temple got hit while there was lives in danger? This was why he was glad he left the Order.

The fighter was slowed down as Tristram tried to sort out his next move in light of the information he was able to gather so far. This was going to be a big battle on the ground and in space it seemed rather than a raid. Heroics wouldn't get him anywhere if he dove into battle head on right now. He wasn't shy about fighting Sith, but he wasn't prepared for a full scale battle right now. Maybe the best thing he could do was just head back to Kash and help him defend his home. With a newborn daughter the Wookie certainly had no reason to rush into battle and Tristram could help with any troopers who stumbled upon the village. He didn't know. Two equal desires were tearing him apart right now. He wanted to help his friend but he also wanted to strike a blow to the Sith if not run a few through. How was he suppose to make a decision with his emotions so divided like this?

Explosions and lights caught Tristram's attention and snapped him back into the moment. A group of Wookie warrios had been pinned down by a squadron of Sith troops. Scouts or advance forces or just overly independent folk. He didn't know and it didn't matter to him. His decision on his next mood had been made for him it seemed for which he was grateful. He got the weapons system primed as he got the fighter flying lower to the ground over the river. The Wookies back was to the waters and out in the open, but the Sith troops were also out in the open as well. It was working to their advantage right now, but soon enough it would be their downfall.

As the distance was closed enough for Tristram to begin shooting, one of the troops noticed him coming in. They called it out only for laser fire to crash through them right after. A couple of the troops had been killed and all the rest who survived thrown in all directions from the impact. The momentary distraction gave the Wookies their opening to make for cover. Tristram flew up and flipped the fighter back around. He was ready to make another pass so he got himself lower to the ground yet again. Something unexpected caught him by surprise though before he could start firing. A rocket went soaring straight at his ship. He managed to barely dodge it, but began to get hit by a constant stream of fire. His shields were depleting faster than he expected and he was forced to rise higher once again to avoid being gunned down.

Tristram cursed to himself about this because he never got the chance to take his second round of shots at them. A missed opportunity that was already starting to cost him. The Wookies might have gotten free for the moment into the cover of the trees, but the Sith troops had already recovered and adapted to the situation. While some of them gave chase towards the trees, the troops with the rockets and heavier guns were in a position to punish him if he got close again. This was not good. He had only delayed the Wookies deaths so far and not actually managed to save them. He needed to figure out something fast or everything would have been in vain.

Tekkio scanned the forest using binoculars. The targeting systems picked out enemy signatures and movements. Enemies seen this way was revealed on most Imperial displays for targeting. The fur on his head was and hands was brown colored, matching the color of the tree he was in. Ears twitched to the sound of his wrist giving some sort of signal. It was jagged and muffled. Although he did not know what was being said, he knew what it meant. He lowered the device he was holding and started climbing down the tree he was in. Once his feet hit the ground, he allowed his fur to change back to its crimson red hue.

Tekkio jogged under some bushes into a small clearing. The Commander Tar was setting up a small briefing. "It seems some of the Jedi soldiers are falling back. That usually means a trap. I'll contact the General and tell him to prepare. It is likely though, being the sith he is, the trap is expected.

"Captain Ro just send us new orders. This has been approved by High Command." He pulled out a small device which displayed a holo projection of a building, similar to the round oval shaped buildings of the wookie design. "This is our new target. Command wants us to take out this building and draw attention away from the main attack force." Some of the Lieutenants looked a bit confused. None said much. "We will be joining an armored division to provide rocket guidance for artillery. Surveillance teams will still be ahead to make sure the plan is working. The force we are joining is coming from the landing Zone we have secured, and is big enough that it cannot be ignored, nor easily stopped." One of the Lieutenants looked at Commander Tar. "How big of a force?" Commander Tar lowered the hologram and said, "50 Walkers and a dozen Hailstorms." The officers nodded and most dispersed. Tekkio remained with the Commander.

"This building.... I noticed its a medical center. Why are we targeting it?" He asked The commander gathered up a few things and said, "Commands orders. I am not sure, but I think they are using the building for me. I'll see if I can get an exact reason, but even if I don't, we are ordered to destroy it." Tekkio saluted and walked away to a team of 20 soldiers. He did not understand why they was being moved around s much, but the path of a soldier was to be diverse.

It was a steady walk to meet up with the armor. The walkers towered over the Kushiban, and the tanks roared as the climbed over roots. "Have the scouts in front, Commander Tar said this was to distract the enemy, lets make sure its working." Tekkio order his survey team. "Yes sir." The Cheif PO said and gestured for the troops to follow him. A hospital was their target, or it just needed to appear that way. Still This was a war, and if this is what attacking forces do, then he would have to follow suit. Tekkio ran to catch up slowing down a bit as a walker crossed his path. The dirt kicked up somewhat spashed onto the small Lupine. He shook out his fur and smoothed his hair with his hansd before returning to his run.

The fortress, once a sith base of operations before Je'gan, Ben, Sky, herself, Selena and several other jedi came to the world long ago had fallen into disrepair which was not to uncommon. With a look on her face though when the feeling of battle came the jedi master turned her head sensing through the force the darkside before she was moving. Instinctively walking while her mind was playing mental catch up. Several presences going forward and she could fel a number of the other jedi who were there with a nod of her head. She checked the equipment before grazing the twin sabers in her sleeve and the silvery white guardian robes.

She moved from the window launching herself up into the air with the force and she was moving quickly being joined by a few of the teams in runabouts who were going to the rest to help them. Her consciousness expanded outwards with the force, going towards the surface of the planet and she banked through the trees landing on the limb of a thick branch and leaping from one to another. The force solidifying below her feet in a telekinetic block so she could move quickly without losing contact with the ground. Senses flaring outwards, robes opened and trailing behind her until she stopped looking down at the rest and bowed her head.

"What have they gotten into now." THe sound that came from behind her had the jedi master speaking without turning her head. She could understand the sounds of the wookiee. "Yes I agree but it wouldn't matter where they set up," She got another one but spoke with a laugh. "Yeah but your people are always helpful and you know the motto. We always pay our debts, just tell me what you need to rebuild and recover and you know I will endeavor to get it for you old friend. I owe you more then enough and can never fully repay it even if I do continue to live a few lifetimes." before he could speak though the jedi master was moving quickly and gliding down towards a section of the forest.

She was moving and went towards a tree as some fo the wookiees she generaly worked with helped her and the small jedi master squeezed within. Getting some cover here in the shadowlands when they were setting out bait and lures. Layers of defense they could handle with a decent amount of taming and protection. Her eyes focused before she was moving down into a small alcove that had been set up to sit and act more as a small outpost here. Wooden alcoves holding water and ration packs. "Now let us begin." Her legs corssed and the hardlight projector was set to clok and obscure the entrance as she sank into the force.

Kor Vexen

Shores of Kashyyk | Location
TSE Legion Ground Forces/Lieutenant Saryn/| Company
The air was filled with smoke and ash as the battle along the beachhead raged on. Amidst the fury and chaos stood the marching Legion that advanced upon the shores, led by a wall of Vanguard class Fang Wardroids to bear the brunt of small arms fire directed at the rapidly deploying ground forces led and commanded by General Vexen. As the enemy greeted them in kind with their full arsenal of explosive ordinance, turrets and drones from the Monolith walkers deployed would turn to take aim as they opened up with a volley of high powered laser bolts, a great number of them connecting with the incoming wave of ordinance that flew at them, filling the air with a sheer volume of laser fire that flew out in waves like the tides of an ocean. A great number of the incoming proton rockets fired at the advancing forces had been shot down though many slipped through and managed to blast out chunks in the wall formations of the Fang Wardroids who continued to march unflinching and unnerved. Where a gap had been formed with the vaporized remains of the droids, would soon be closed as the droids moved with a single mind and closed ranks before continuing to advance. Most of the small arms fire would impact against the thick durasteel tower shields, heating the surface up but otherwise having little effect unless concentrated fire was enacted in which case the shields would heat up to the point of melting. The Fang's bore the brunt of the frontal assault and as a result, continued to take losses, but would soon be replaced by the arriving reinforcements landing on the beachhead. Most munitions that managed to slip past would splash against the deflector shields of the Monoliths with minimal damage to the heavily armored walkers. Several walkers however would take numerous hits from rockets and mortar fire as they let out screeching groans as they struggled to maintain their weight before collapsing in balls of flame.

Vexen stood from his position as he surveyed the battlefield. So far the enemy's focus had been directed fully at his arriving vanguard party and was foolish enough to reveal the positions of all their infantry based rocket troops that had fired. The individual standing next to him would observe a handheld hologram of the battlefield as they began to pinpoint and identify possible or known firing positions of gun nests, snipers, and anything else that was making a poor decision of continuously firing to give away their position along with battlefield intel provided by [member="Tekkio"]. While the enemy was focused on the advancing set of troops, orders had been dispatched to a secondary force that had begun to deploy along with additional Monolith Walkers. Several squads of lightly armored Fang Wardroids would run out armed with Gewehr Sniper Rifles began to take up positions behind several Vanguard class Fangs that served as a stationary cover. They had been given battlefield intel and were assigned as counter-snipers as well as threat neutralizers to infantry as they began to focus gun, rocket, and sniper nests. The same function applied to the Monolith Walkers as they angled their mass driver cannons to the identified threats, ready to deliver explosive rounds to send the entrenched and nesting enemies scattering. Any enemy aircraft that dared to stray too close would find that the overlapping fields of fire from the quad laser cannons equipped to the Monoliths would be more firepower than anyone short of an ace pilot could handle.

Legion soldiers would spread out, weary of mortar and artillery as they had been properly trained to keep proper spacing to avoid large casualties as a result of grouping, though few had been unfortunate to get caught in the fire as limbs or entire bodies were vaporized, yet this did not shake the iron discipline of battle-hardened soldiers with the resolve to bring glory to the empire and its full wrath to those that stood against them. The beaches were stormed as the advancing forces slowly but surely proceeded forward with the intent of establishing a proper beachhead. Vexen would turn to the female lieutenant next to him as he spoke in a vocoded voice, " Report Lieutenant Saryn...What is the current status of our additional forces? " The female lieutenant would look at the map as she spoke, " The contracted Golden Company have dispatched [member="Khonsu Amon"] and a compliment of Sun Guards to take the Wawaatt Archipelago here. With any luck, either they will be able to fully take it with little to no resistance or force the enemy to divert the enemies we are engaging to handle them or suffer opening up another flank from which we can land troops and attack from. Lieutenant [member="Scipio Alta"] is ready to deploy alongside the 42nd Airborne. " Vexen would raise an armored hand as if he were stroking his chin, observing the map before raising his holocommunicator up to open a channel to Lieutenant Alta, " Lieutenant, commence Operation Guillotine. Your success will play a critical role in crippling the enemy's front line. Exercise caution and do not underestimate the natives of this world. Do not fail me. "

More dropships began to land and unload troops, flying in with TIE escorts that swiftly peeled off to establish a safe airspace around the landing zone. Though the SJO were entrenched and had the support of the local population, they were still up against the best the Empire had to offer as far as army personnel went. Vexen had full confidence in his forces being able to take and hold this beachhead until the enemy brought out credible threats to his heavy walkers, a threat in which he was anticipating well in advance and had preparations for. He would turn to his Lieutenant as he spoke, " Petition FleetCom to send additional air support. If we are to take and hold this beachhead, we will require the capability to handle their bombers. Keep me informed. "

I kindly ask since you guys are posting several times before I do: Unless you are engaging/supporting me directly or the forces in my posts, please do not tag me. This extends to people from TSE that are otherwise functioning independently from the battle. I am trying my best to address each and every person that I am fighting with/against but it can be difficult when I have to go through a bunch of posts that tag me but have no direct relevance to anything I have written that isn't combat related.

Darth Excidium could sense the approaching Force presence, his own not particularly hidden or concealed, simply as was. The Sith Troopers began to spread out, following the small motion of a command given by the Sith Lord with a flick of his gloved hand. Weapons raised, covering multiple firing sectors, they were as prepared as could be against the threat they were unaware of at the time. One trooper in particular retreated further away into the jungle, soon disappearing into the undergrowth, a long carrying case across his back; that one would come in handy soon, Excidium suspected, as the trooper went to take up a more advantageous location further away from the group.

From nearby, Farah and her entourage of troopers arrived. The Acolyte was aware of the approaching presence also, somewhat surprised, much like Excidium.

"It seems wandering the woods is a common strategy for planetary assaults," The Sith Lord muttered, green eyes distant as he smiled. "What's a large attack force, compared to two lone Sith in the jungles, hm?"

In truth, Excidium had expected to be more or less alone in the vast jungle, at least until his group had approached the Jedi dwellings proper. Still, one could never account for random events in battle, and all one could do was prepare to face whatever happened head on. So it was that, standing with his hands clasped at the small of his back, Excidium nodded to Farah and simply waited - bright eyes staring in the direction of the approaching individual, waiting, wondering how things were going to play out. The troopers were also ready, waiting, including the additional numbers that had arrived with Farah moments ago...

"Before we start shooting, allow us a moment to talk," Excidium said, specifically to the soldiers. "Sometimes events take very interesting turns when a moment longer is taken."

There was a grin behind that Mandalorian helmet of Lok's. It was the kind that was mischievous mixed with dark in it, and his eyes shined bright at the Sith Lady. She only encouraged him more when she cupped his helmet with her metal hand. He didn't know why and he didn't care, but the lad always enjoyed being around Matsu's company than that of his adoptive father. There was always some chemistry between Mastu and Lok. The day that they met, the Munin got along with the woman and he liked to think the same for Matsu. Otherwise, he probably wouldn't be treated very kindly by her.

And she was right about his screws being loose, and he was thankful for that. It what led him to admire his adoptive mother and be how he is now: dangerous, loose cannon, ruthless, and takes what he wants. Her dialogue was a bit cryptic for him, something he didn't mind at all. He knew what she was capable and that sinister, unsettling smile said it all. The man wasn't scared of her which was probably foolish of him, but he did respect her. After all, shouldn't children respect their mother?

Following Matsu's directions, the Mandalorian followed her into the jungles of Kashyyyk. His slugthrower was carried in hand, instincts ready to shoot at anything that was Jedi or Wookie. During their trek, they encountered a female that focused on Matsu and said her full name. Friend or foe? He didn't know, but he was on guard without raising his rifle.

"Friend of yours, mom," the Outlaw asked to the Sith Lady, waiting and hearing the battle noises that loomed off in the distance.

Valae’s hand rose to clutch the front of her robes tightly. Staring at those present in the dojo, she steeled her nerves. Even here in this practice hall, there was an impressive amount of talent. Still, it was another thing to send these young men and women out to fight. Swallowing hard, she tried to remind herself that they all knew the dangers, and they were ready to do their duty to the Order.

“Master Nooran,” She started, eyes meeting with the Echani. “I’m counting on you.”

Her gaze shifted to give Cassius Droma a small nod. Indeed it was unusual for him to be fighting on the ground, but she had no doubts that he would do well. Giving the others a last look, she offered an encouraging smile. “Take care, may the force be with you all.”

She felt the hand of Quin Su close around her shoulder, and the two healers turned to exit the dojo.

Quickly, the two made for Valae’s office. As they went, she was could feel the tension all around. There were some Jedi pacing the main hall, seemingly waiting for the worst. But for the most part, the temple seemed eerily quiet. Turning into her doorway, she drew in a deep breath to try and keep her mind from racing out of control. After all, there was much to worry about. There were reports flowing in already, and her eyes scanned the messages quickly.

“Grandmaster Kitra,” Quin Su interrupted her reading. “I’ve called the others. It’s time – we must put your new skills into action.”

Giving the Cerean a quick nod, she scooped up her lightsaber and the two continued on towards the meditation chambers. Though she’d already walked away from her desk, her thoughts lingered there. But she forced herself to let go – Colonel Calderon and General Med-Beq would have the military side of things handled skillfully and Master Nooran would be there to guide the Jedi in battle. And of course, she knew that [member="Jake Daniels"] could handle himself – no matter what came his way.

The other healers of the Silver Circle had already gathered, and bowed as the Grandmaster entered.

Settling on the floor, Valae sat cross-legged and closed her eyes. Her hands fidgeted a moment before folding in her lap, she was unsure. Battle meditation was new to her, and she hadn’t been expected to be put to the test this way…

But if life with the Silvers had taught her anything – it was to be prepared.

Valae tried to put up a good face to set an example, but through their bond, she could feel her jittery with nervous energy. Her friend's courage could never be doubted, but she was still a gentle soul.

It had been a while since she handed over the reigns of Grandmaster to Valae, but her conscience was still heavy with guilt, having shirked her duties in a moment of weakness.

"I won't let you down."

She wanted to hug Valae then but just offered a small nod and a tight smile.

There was little doubt in her mind that the Silver Order and their Kashyyykian allies on would eventually repel the Sith, but the real question was how many casualties would be inflicted before then. How many graves would have to be dug for each side alike?

Make...them...bleed...

She winced as she felt a sudden stabbing pain like a migraine, then some nauseating pressure against her mind. Turning away, she tried to shake off the sensation and recenter herself. The pain and pressure then quickly subsided.

Initially, she chalked up the disturbance to all the Dark Siders she could feel descending planetside and or be still hanging in orbit, pits of corruption gathering against the Jedi like flies, but there had been something eerily familiar about this presence.

Troubling, but with no clear answers, she brought her attention back to more pressing events now plaguing Kashyyyk.

Zavii and Droma now stood close, offering their assistance. She had never worked with either Padawan directly in a combat scenario, but she wouldn't turn away anyone competent and willing to fight.

"As long as you're willing to follow orders and not stray, then you can join me. Discipline must be maintained if we're going to have any chance of survival."

She glanced to her right, Charlie standing dutifully at her side. In a rare showing, her normally ditzy padawan now possessed a steely gaze of resolve. She said nothing aloud about the change in demeanor, but she was pleased to see her apprentice become serious and show glimpses of the great warrior Jyoti knew she could be.

"Now, we need to get to armory and gear up. And make sure each of you picks up a blaster to go with those sabers."

She motioned for the exit and led the party of Padawan out of the dojo to the armory.

I watched as the furry little Kushiban headed off with his men an officer saluted him but he'd said something to him as well. I looked over his armor to see he was a commander, the concerning thing was there was a hospital in this area. Made sense as a military target too, triggering one of the war droids to crush the mans' throat I watched as he dropped lifeless just as another trooper left behind with the commander saw. He'd started calling for help but I panned to his head and fired my rifle, the metal pellet went clean through his head and he dropped as well without ever having uttered a word. Laying my rifle down briefly I reached out with my senses toward the beachhead and felt.....electronic signatures. Massive amount of them, along with.....shield towers. On a beach.....oh well at least they'd been thinking tactically.

Speaking into my helmet comm I said "Seras would you be so kind as to have a squad of four war droids follow the the Kushiban and his entourage? Intel gathering while cloaked please." Waiting a moment I heard "Aye they're on their way." Reaching out with The Force I felt just....life, energy everywhere. Then I reached out and began using the sands on the beaches simply a handful here and there and began eroding a small hole here and there in three of the shield towers. Then I simply began funneling handfuls of sand into each tower and I began accelerating them against each other inside the guts of the towers. I could already feel electric current building up inside the towers. I kept accelerating the sand to begin arcing inside the towers to simply melt the shield capacitors. Then I said through the animalistic link I had with the cats "Find troops/Isolate and eliminate/ Crunchy ones in armor taste best/ Avoid glowy red swords/ Hunt Well Friends/" I felt acknowledgement as they moved off into the jungles. There was strong electronic built up within the shield towers and I kept accelerating the sand sp the build up would be critical.

"So Seras long time with no contact, what've you been doing? Bounty hunting, training another like me?" I could feel the static within the towers beginning to arc more erratically so I fed more Force energy into the arcing storm. "I.....I...I've been running since I sent you to Triple Zero Andorreth. Still haven't had my Dar'manda status removed. I haven't had anywhere to go, and also do NOT move at all Andorreth. You'll have to move to the right side here in three, two, one. Now!" I felt a loss of life behind me and to the left as I moved. "Also I stayed as close as I could to you. I couldn't ever see you because of my problems. I have missed you though Andorreth."

"We'll catch up after this Seras...You have my word on that and I WILL hold you to that." Opening the comms up to all Silver Jedi Personnel I said "All Silver Knights, rangers and other assorted people who like tricks. Eyes and scans towards the beach and here. we. go!" Overcharging the electrical build up in the three shield towers I'd been working on I watched as plumes of smoke started billowing up from the beachead. "Only three WILL be out but they're not gonna be able to re-activate those. Happy hunting rangers and May The Force be with us Vespera out." I began moving back into the treeline as I prepared for what came next...

It was very likely that the Sith had already sensed her presence. Elpsis had not learned to draw upon her ethereal powers to conceal her aura. Furthermore, that kind of stealthiness was not her style. Her phrik armour was also quite distinctive, and her lightsabre emanated a faint Force signature.

So she prepared herself for combat as she approached. The rocks, trees and so on provided some cover for her. Milky-white eyes, hidden behind her helmet's faceplate, took in the scenery ahead of her. A reactor explosion had robbed her of her physical sight, but the Heavenly Mother had granted her the gift of seeing with the Force. Outside of a ysalamiri field, her eyes worked a lot better now.

It allowed her to see the auras of the soldiers. Multiple firing vectors appeared to have been covered. Through her empathy, she could catch a glimpse of their emotions. They were alert. Ready to die for their liege.

At the centre of it all stood the Sith. His dark aura was powerful, indicating he was a Master. But there was another one close to him. An Apprentice. But what struck Elpsis was her aura. It was twisted and wrong...but it resembled that of Joza Perl. Except it evidently was not her...

Taking cover, she raised her Mk1 bolter and fired. The Force her constant companion, steadied and enhanced her aim. 30mm x 45 mm explosive bolts leapt out of the weapon's muzzle, aimed at the Sith Lord. These were not ordinary bullets or blaster bolts but explosive rounds. The bolts were armed at launch and any significant pressure on the warhead will cause it to detonate, as they exploded on impact. This included shields, Force powers such as telekinesis, lightsabres etc.

Thus Force pushing them away would result in the round blowing up in your face. Same applied to trying block or cut the projectiles with a sabre etc. The bolts had a two metre ‘casualty zone’ on impact against most humanoids. Up to six metres one could be injured by either shrapnel or blast wave.

The girl's armour, guns and aversion to pontificating might give her opponents a hint that she was no Jedi, though her aura was broadly lightsided. Then again, some Jedi acted like that as well. Religious and political alignments were such a terribly fluid thing these days.

Tanasuki's heart raced a little faster then usual with the ting of excitement, a little bit of adrenaline pumping through his body before the main fight as he stood near the others, awaiting their next move as Swail finished giving orders to a few Wookie warriors. Though not having a great grasp of the language only understanding a few words like lock down and ready, though it did not matter as the brown haired native left for battle, Tanasuki only pitting what poor Sith trooper wound up as their victims.

It was well known how vicious a fighter even one Wokkie was, more so an army of them combined with Jedi forces and what not, the ring of battle already sounding from the beaches nearby, the sky aflame as smoke tailed down from the blue canopy that enveloped the planet. This would not be like Miral or other attacks where the Sith could use human shields to win over the enemy, no this fight would be all military and the Jedi would not hold back.

Looking to Swail, the one who sent out the message for the Padawans to gather, as she spun her sabre around, looking a little out of the ordinary in her sleepwear, but also with a heightened look of confidence across her face. "Oh don't say that it looks cute on you", *ahem* "But yes we should remain on guard at all time, not a single Sith should get through our defences, our stand will be firm and strong, don't you agree Asarra"? Looking to the side he noted the Togruta's seeming lack of, well anything, she seemed a little out of it, a stark contrast compared to how she acted on Degoba, but why? Was the wieght of defending the temple and home world that much? Ture it was a heavy weight but the woman was a marine, and much older them himself, but then again his people the Jin sought honor in combat, the art being quite central to their life, perhaps the General was just a bit sick of all the death at this point, one would not blame her.

Regardless they had a duty to uphold and it was there own life on the line as well as other Padawans, a new on of which had just joined them, [member="Reggie Faayare"], arriving a little late, but better here then not at all. "A fashionable late arrival, I hope you have brought your hunting sick, we gonna catch ourselves some Sith rats", following Swail lead the young boy ignited his own sabre, the emerald blade illuminating his blue sailor suit like attire, *ahem* "Awaiting you orders Swail-sama".

The Mandalorian Empire may have been allied with the Sith Empire, however not all the Mandalorians came from there nowadays. Especially after recent events that most would look down upon with disgust, including Fett. The Sith were among the greatest employers that the Bounty Hunter had the pleasure of working for. The rates were great, and the level of independence was desirable. So it shouldn't come to any surprise that the Mandalorian happened to be working for them once more. Specifically on Kashyyyk where beasts roam free, open to the hunt. Satisfaction was a great motivator.

Wookiee's found refuge above the forest floors, their wooden structures attached to the mighty Wroshyr Trees. So tall and thick that nothing could bring it down, or so it was believed. Though unfortunately for the furred beasts of Kashyyyk their homes were engulfed in flames, burning to the ground as all that remains is ash. The Wookiees fought tooth and nail for every bit of land with a ferocious intent. Who could blame them, truly?

A grouping of said animals charged the infamous hunter as their war cries ensnared his attention. Unfortunately for them, however, the bridge in which they ran across was susceptible to rocket fire - much like most things in this galaxy. As it impacted the wood splintered, and with the assortment of roars distancing he knew they would soon meet an untimely fate. Fett's attention shifted upon a nearby home, his flamethrower spitting liquid fire that flooded over the home. There was no saving it now.

So far it had been an uneventful day, woke up and hit the Chiller for an hour before venturing out into the heat of the Kashyyyk jungle, all cooled down with his core temperature set to zero. Théo had been out exploring his new surroundings, came across what appeared to be some kind of ruin though there was not much left of it of any note, some old stone work with carvings and inscribed with a language he did not know or understand, over grown with vines and plants that if one did not trip over it it would remain hidden .. the usual thing. He was on his way back to his home laden with a bag filled with berries and nuts when he noticed the ships descending from the skies, not Silver Jedi ships, they were ugly things which could only mean one thing, Sith.

And he had a strong hunch that Val had not invited them over for dinner. So it was time to get back home and fast.

The bag of berries and nuts got thrown into the corner of the kitchen before he made his way to his room to find his Sunday best for the occasion. Silver Jedi armour his had 'borrowed' from the Temple and an interesting looking hammer, the Gods only knew what he was going to do with that. As the last piece of the armour clicked into place, he grab the helmet and headed out the door, walked along the swinging bridge to go to ground. And than he heard it, the sound of battle, it was in the distance and directed toward the Temple, and beyond that to the beach.

He would have to make his way on foot, and so Théo began his push to join the fray, crunching through the jungle as fast as he could, he did not possess the grace and skill of stealth of his mother so he was a noisy bugger, like his father and fathers before that. However, his force senses alert, his awareness through it mastered since training with his master at the ripe old age of three. He sensed the presence of men, several of them .. and close and so he stopped before changing course toward them. It couldn't be Silvers out here, not in this part of the jungle so most likely Sith trying to sneak in the back door.

Well there was only one way to find out.

Today, Olrunn had descended upon Kashyyyk's atmosphere with a plan of her own. Her objectives had been kept to herself, with the idea of revealing it later to her Master upon the success of her mission, were them to be successful. So, the Acolyte had rounded up a few stormtroopers, five in total. They were the ones that had earned the Acolyte's attention in previous missions, for they had the qualities she best worked with. As soon as their pod touched ground, Olrunn excited it followed by black-clad soldiers. Her explanation was brief. She was about to take a route they could not follow, her form would allow her to keep a pace the troopers couldn't match. She'd be out of reach from all of their sensors, and they were to pursue another direction towards the same destination, awaiting for contact from her.

The gurlanin reached out to her Master one last time, judging by the diffuse sign of his presence, he had not yet landed. Then, her form disappeared from the grasp of common senses. She became invisible, lacking a smell or sound. Following was the obscuring of her aura, the Force that marked all living things concealed and removing her completely from any form of identification. Lowered to her original shape, the Gurlanin could sped through the thickest parts of the jungle, avid eyes and a powerful nose scourging the land for her objective.

She did not yet know her plan would be interrupted. The acolyte had the habit, or even instinctual need, of checking on her Master every once in a while. It had been told to her that he would keep to the cover of the jungle, the battlefront and its danger away from his position. So it came as a surprise when upon reaching out, she sensed a distress in the Force. Her Master was under attack, by what seemed to be a Jedi ally. Vile emotions were quick to raise within the Acolyte, anger derived from loyalty. The deepest kind of violence that could ever be mustered from the cold Gurlanin being called to action. With a swiftness only her original form could provide, she changed her route in a second, reaching through the Force to the troopers and ordering to take the same direction. For one could not attack a Master without offending its servant.

It did not take her long to reach the area of conflict, and as she hunted for the wretched presence of the light, she was soon to set a bright pair of orange eyes upon the firing witch. Stealth had always been her style, and now standing in a relatively close range to the woman she knew the light-sider harnessed greater power than she did. But she had the advantage of surprise, and the will to defend the ArchMagus made her more aware and ready to face this great challenge albeit for a short while. She had yet no ability to contain her enemy for long, those days laid far ahead of her, but that did not mean there was nothing she could do.

Her natural strength augmented by a force spell, by Sith magic, she morphed back into her human form not yet disclosing any of her presence. She knew her cover would be broken when she pulled on the force to intervene, so she had to be careful. For a moment, Olrunn observed and noticed the explosive ammunition detonated upon contact. This meant that stopping the shots was not a viable course of action. She had to stop the weapon in itself.

The gurlanin flanked the Elder witch, and enacted a force crush on her hands with enough strength to force her to drop the weapon. It was at this moment that she would become visible, shining in the Force-sight of the woman with a tainted darkness around her. Should her attempt be successful, the gurlanin would press forward harnessing her speed and lounge to take hold of the fallen bolter, purple saber ignited to block possible attacks from the witch. A deep growl vibrating through her chest and ripping the air around her.

The presence of the Force User was approaching, brief glimpses between the trees and rocks, right up until the point when it wasn't. From his concentration on the individual, Darth Excidium could only guess that whomever it was had reached a point where he or she felt comfortable with taking action. And given the terrain, it wasn't too far away. There were several possibilities for staying at distance when approaching an enemy, and all of them included some kind of ranged solution; so with his mind on the new arrival, observing her estimated location not far away through the dense jungle - clearly the open space was limited, given the nature of Kashyyyk's jungle floors - and wasn't surprised when the attack began. In fact, Excidium had been expecting it. No one in their right mind would willingly walk out in front of half a dozen troopers and two Sith, alone. It would have been nice to have been approached, spoken to, even from cover... but no, this one seemed intent on getting the kills outright.

With his naturally enhanced reflexes, Excidium followed through with his plan for dealing with a ranged threat: he used the Force to raise the very ground before the group, filling the open space with a dense barricade of mud, clay, fallen logs and rock. Tightly compacted, several meters thick, enough to stop high powered flechette rifles, which is what he had expected. So when booms started from the other side of the heavy ground mass, with some shrapnel flying over the top of the cover to impact with objects outside of the protection offered, Excidium was surprised. He had honestly suspected high-powered slugthrower rounds, but he was also pleased to see that most of the explosive force was sent skyward - back toward the attacker's direction - as was the nature of blast-waves versus mass.

Nodding his head, Excidium watched as the Sith Troopers began to move. The outermost pair of the group began flanking, closing the distance using cover of their own. In hand they had a T15 "Ghostmaker" Acid Launcher each, and when they were within a reasonable distance to began creating their acid gas cloud, they aimed and prepared fire. The arrival of Excidium's apprentice, Olrunn, had been perfectly timed; and the distraction she caused by attacking the mysterious individual allowed the acid troopers to make their way without too much concern for being attacked.

Olrunn, be prepared for an acid attack, Excidium sent through the Force, filling the minds of both student and troopers. Now!

And with a glorious spray of liquid, the two troopers began spewing out from two directions, the troopers clearly intent on creating a blanket of deadly acidic poison around the location of the attacker; and as soon as the liquid began hitting the ground, the trees, the rocks, it exploded in a deadly burst of gas that continued to rapidly spread throughout the general area ahead - the constant stream from the troopers, mixed with the activating agent on impact, meant that the acid would soon engulf the area beyond the group... and if the attacker stayed in place, he or she would be consumed by acid.

Moving seemed the logical response, especially with the troopers being ordered to maintain fire. Olrunn would evade, she had been warned and prepared.

"When you have sight on, open fire," The Sith Lord said simply, as he eased his control on the mountain of ground, channeling his Force energy for the next bout. "Use grenades, use blasters, use rocks if you have no options... whomever this is doesn't walk away from here alive."

And with his energy building, Excidium watched as the ground began to flatten upon itself, the artificial grasp keeping it up now gone...
