Two mandalorian factions?

[member="Bryanjar Aulfmaor"] You can also ask why there are three Sith factions on the go.

It's just different takes on an ancient culture; various ideas and methods about how the Mandos go about their mandate, but are all on the same "side" at the end of the day.

One Faction may be out for all out war, conflict and domination, but one may be a more diplomatic and reserved and peaceful Faction, but they both serve the will of the Mandos in their own way.

Like the Jedi Order, the Silver Sanctum and the Galactic Alliance - all Jedi based factions with NFUs serving the Light, but with different methods and practices about doing it.

Just gives writers new ways to approach how they feel the Mandos, Sith, Jedi or other Factions can be "played out". If you look at both you'll note some differences in their approach, so it will be which one suits your character's ideals the most.

Yes but the mandalorian culture has one manda'lore, which was already decided, this new faction is basicakky a bunch of darmada's with their manda'lore...... It's also kinda story confusing since their cant be two manda'lores without a war .....

Short answer: Because people can make any faction they like and see if there is enough interest to carry it.
Background info! In cannon there were two (or more) distinct styles of mandalorian. New to it and can only speak ME first impressions, but they style themselves as Mandalorian Crusaders.

Here's what I was given for the ME Code to help shape Khia

Speak the language.
Wear the armor.
Serve the clan.
Rally when called.
Defend your children and raise them as Mandalorians.

But they are cool in chat, unless your barbarians invading greece

This is allowing anyone and everyone to create a Faction based on the ancient teachings and legacy of the Mandos, the Jedi, the Sith, the Empire, the Black Sun etc. Or even something totally original, as [member="Khia Wral"] noted.

It allows writers who may not want to subscribe to one definite Faction the change to tweak it a little and make their own that they feel serves their ideal better.

And in that respect hopefully others will respect that and not see them as competition, just as allies using different methods.

Ok that makes sense , accept that it kinda can break the story of the mandalorians since theres only one manda'lore. But its story breaking since the culture is about the family and clans, thus making it confusing which clans go to which clans, considering they have all been in the original faction, its really confusing.

In the very begining there were two manda'lors, but later on during the more modern ages there was only on group of mandalorians, and the crusaders are still mandalorians, during the more modern age of star wars during Fetts era , Boba was the only manda'lor , and the practice continued. Therefore its very confusing as to which clans go to which faction, which is also why its story breaking

[member="Bryanjar Aulfmaor"] Hence why we set the "story" here nearly 900 years after 'A New Hope'.

It lets us stay far, far away from the EU and all the lore after the films/books and lets us tweak things to create our own rules, Factions and stories whilst being faithful to the core mandate of those we set up the Faction for.

I mean...maybe one day two Mando Factions will have a clash, or even two Jedi Factions. Unlikely BUT you never know how the writers will take it. That's all the fun of making things our own here. :p

The 'Vikings' were never a single state, but dozens of small groups which eventually formed into the Kingdoms of Denmark, Sweden and Norway.

Another example I guess is the breaking down of Christendom into groups which all acknowledge basically the same code but in different ways.

/historical pedantry

First of all, most importantly - what both [member="Connor Harrison"] and [member="Khia Wral"] said but here is some input from me:

The Mandalorians (faction) which is commonly known as the United Clans of Mandalore are lead more or less by a council of clans rather than a Mandalore and in my view share more the visions of Jaster Mereel - Mercenary work rather than galactic conquest.

The newer faction - Mandalorian Empire - shares the vision of the Mandalorian Crusaders of old which believe that is the true way of Mandos but with a few tweaks here and there. Since there was no Mandalore prior Mandalore the Reclaimer, technically it was a vacant spot, Isley Verd took on the mantle of Mandalore which all Mandalorians are supposed to answer.
