There it was! That's what the Mandalorian Daughter has been waiting for! So much time had been wasted in feeling out her opponent, testing their talents and observing the skill of the godborn and now it seemed the Cathar was taking things much more seriously. The quips and teases had ceased and all Dima could see left in her eyes was a burning ferocity as the woman lifted that strange pistol once again and took aim at the Xeno.

Dimas reaction was instant, flicking her wrist towards a nearby chair in the allyway and attaching a silk rope to it before yanking it over and using it to intercept the blast from her device. The chair imploded and shattering to splinters as the Jedi herself used her strange powers to once again propel themselves forward with a rocket-like blast of flames erupting from behind them as the took their opportunity to strike Dima.

Those five eyes scanned and flicked back and forth behind her visor, taking notice of the other two individuals who had promptly just arrived to the aid of the Jedi before the Cathar blindingly dashed towards the beast of a woman.

Game on then kitty.

Dima dropped the saber held in one of her upper hands directly into the palms of her lower arms hand, alternating her weapon hand and charging forward towards the Cathar and lifting her upper two arms and crossing them into the shape of an X to block the Cathars strike towards her arm, using the brute force of her size and weight to power through the sword strike and into the flames and fires left from the godling using them for movement.

And from the smoke and fire Dima came leaping outward towards the aid that had come to the Godborns side. Better to pull them into the fold and control the pace of the fight rather than letting them gang up on her after all. And as Dimas feet hit the ground she slid nice and low while twisting her hips and THROWING her massive tail outwards in a classical leg sweep before recoiling the tail and whirling it in a vertical slice next, attempting to, if she did manage to trip them with the sweep SLAMMING the tail back down onto their body. "PEEK-A-BOO MOTHERF-" She cursed, cutting herself short as she returned focus to the Cathar as well.

And as she did this with her tail, her front would be once again facing towards the Cathar godling who was shrouded in smoke and ashes. Flicking two of her upper wrist Dima attempted to shoot her silk THROUGH the smoke as a 'surprise' snare, and if she could connect them to the Cathars torso Dima would yank her towards herself and at the same time, use the saber she had put into her lower hands to activate the blade and swipe it towards their body, deactivating the saber instantly and just pointing the hilt at the Cathar recklessly. And then just flicking the blade on, letting the hot plasma shoot outward towards her face or arms, then deactivating it again and reactivating the saber towards her legs, making it incredibly agitating for her opponent to make a proper read and close the distance properly as she waved the lightsaber about randomly as if it were some kind of toy.

SUMMERY

Countering the first pistol shot, Dima pulls a chair into the path of the blast
Charges and powers through the heavily telegraphed strike due to Cathars spark rage
Jumping through smoke and fire, Engages Vulpseen with leg sweep followed by attempted tail crush
While tail is whirling and fighting Vulps, Dima uses saber by turning it on and off randomly in Jonynas face

Jonyna didn't answer the call from Vulpesen Vulpesen , rather focusing on the target in front of her. The block stunted her attack, but as soon as the mando darted away from her, she prepped for another attack. The webbing shot at her took her not much by surprise, but rather a calculated risk. As soon as she was pulled in, Jonyna raised an arm. She knew Ko's saber. She had helped construct it. Domina Prime Domina Prime was no duelist, and she could easily try catch the blade in her gauntlets that she had designed for this exact purpose.

And now that she was close, she unleashed everything she had. A torrent of water, the same from before, shot out from the same smoke and aimed right at the mando, all while Jonyna aimed Alex, her new blaster, right at Dima's head, expending the whole canister in one go. Bite down, Nerve Burner.

The wind didn't let up, the sound of tribal chanting filling the air and making it impossible for those without comms to communicate.

Nathan stood over the bodies of another set of Mandalorians without his own Mandalorian disguise. Another set of actual civilians rescued from flamethrowers. Mandalorians enjoyed sending messages. Nathan cared only for results.

That was when they had intercepted transmissions that a star destroyer was going to smash into the city. Estimated time of arrival was ten minutes.

It had been an interesting experiment. But it was time to end it. They had to get the hell out of here.

"We're leaving." Nathan said, getting his com-link and realizing it had taken a blaster bolt. He put it back with a look of disgust.

"Where do we go if we can't run?" a Civilian asked

"I have no fethin' idea." Nathan answered, grimace deeper than usual. "Honestly, it wouldn't matter where we ran. The impact will destroy any underground shelter. The outer city will almost certainly be completely annihilated."

"Monsters!" one of the Civilians screamed in despair

"Isn't there anything you can do?" One Twi'lek man asked.

Nathan thought a moment and sighed.

"Great. Exactly what I didn't want to do..." He muttered.

Nathan closed his eyes, opened his bond to the one creature he absolutely did not want a bond to.

Your assistance is requested.

There was no real reply so much as a general sense of acknowledgement.

The Civilians and rebels were startled by the sudden explosion from a street in the distance. Followed by another that was closer, and another that was closer than that.

Something walked out of the inferno in the distance in a dark green Jedi Jumpsuit, with long, curly crimson hair.

Nathan scowled at the sight of Syd Celsius Syd Celsius as she approached them. She naturally gravitated wherever he traveled, even if it was unconsciously. He couldn't stand it.

But damned if it didn't have it's occasional uses.

Syd looked constantly uncomfortable. Nervous. She occasionally suffered intense panic attacks. Her nerves only got more shot around him, knowing he could barely restrain himself from trying to kill her.

"How can I help?" Syd asked.

"We need a lift. Literally."

Syd stared into his cold green eyes.

"Everyone gather together. I guess I'm playing Taxi." Syd said.

"LOOK!" one of the Biots called out.

Everyone turned. The star destroyer had arrived early.

Nathan's eyes widened. No way they would get out of the way in time. No way. Even with Syd's help.

Nathan and the others could only watch as the Star Destroyer headed towards the city.

He and Syd could save themselves, he supposed, but he didn't want one of the Civilians last sights to be the one who had helped rescue them fleeing to save his own life.

Syd sensed his intent to stay with the frightened people and did not contest it, choosing instead to stay with them as the Star Destroyer sped faster.

"Gather 'round..." he said to the frightened, screaming people, who huddled around him for lack of a better option.

"Syd, calm them." Nathan spoke.

Syd hissed an old spell she barely remembered and the people were pacified. They were not scared as the Star Destroyer fell towards them.

Nathan was the only one who did not avert his eyes as the crashing ship sped towards the city. Syd however, was the only one apart from everyone else, preferring to essentially die alone, silent, with her head down in shame.

Then...at the last few seconds, it's angle shifted. Not much but just enough that even Nathan's heart skipped a beat as the crashing ship's angle of approach began to veer off ever so slowly but surely.

Nathan was the only one who gave no sign of relief.

"Get ready!" he yelled.

The ship barely missed Lessu but the impact *rattled everything." Some of the outskirts of the city were destroyed regardless, and everyone except Syd, who floated with the Force, was thrown to the ground.

Nathan pulled himself up, and helped the others up too.

"Syd, now you have a purpose..." he growled snidely at her. "The Civilians. Get them out of here."

Syd said nothing in reply but nodded.

Nathan sent all the Civilians who didn't see want to fight towards her. She chanted a spell that surrounded her and the others in a red tinged bubble of Force Energy, lifting them off rapidly into the sky and speeding them away.

Nathan turned to the others.

"Who wants to stick around and keep killing these bastards?" Nathan asked.

No one objected.

Besides, a freaking Star Destroyer had nearly hit the city and obliterated it. At some point, you have to start taking chit like that personal.

"We have to get off the street. They'll be looking to take advantage in the chaos."

The whole group of Rebels and Li-Ves warriors moved quickly Through wreckage and debris, keeping their heads low to avoid being shot by snipers. They came across another group of dead Mandalorians, killed hours earlier by what looked like lightsaber wounds.

"Strip them of their equipment except for their armor and rifles." Nathan ordered. "Pose the bodies. Set them up as decoys."

The no longer disguised Biots dragged the dead Mandalorians off the road into a burned out building, propping them up to make it seem like they were acting as snipers for the area. They got behind cover as they saw a convoy of armored, Mandalorian vehicles pass by. They were heading to the crash site just past the city, the explosion of which had leveled many of the buildings at the edge which it had crashed.

Nathan looked at their captured arms, he pulled out a two thermal detonators and an RPS-6 Rocket Launcher. He took a quick peak out. Four tanks. Crap.

"Okay..." he whispered, pointing at all the barrels.

"What are you doing?" One of the Civilians who had chosen violence asked.

"Trigonometry... Algebra... Calculus..." Nathan answered in a tone that put ice up the Civilian's spine. "Please don't disturb me. These calculations are very sensitive..."

He leaned from cover and fired the rocket first, then tossed the two detonators after arming them.

All three items were teleported towards the trajectory of the mouths of tank barrels, the detonators going right into the barrel of the first two Mandalorian Tanks, the rocket going down the barrel of the one in the back of the convoy.

The explosion of the tanks was tremendous and knocked everyone down in the building. Nathan scrambled back to the window he fired from and saw that three of the tanks had been obliterated, while the third in line was severely on fire and trapped between two burning wrecks...but it was still in fighting condition, and it's barrel was swiveling towards the building.

Nathan held out his hand, opened himself to the Force, placed his trust in it... hesitantly.

The tank fired a high explosive shell at the building.

Nathan teleported the shell just as it armed...and it reappeared directly over the tank, heading straight down.

The tank erupted in a ball of flame.

Nathan took two rebels and headed outside.

He spotted a Mandalorian somehow crawl out of the tank, still alive, but on fire, he jumped out, flailing around, desperately trying to put out the flames on him.

Nathan wasn't quite sure why he didn't just let him burn. Maybe it was the screaming. It wasn't like he actually cared about his enemy's life.

Yet for some reason, he found himself using Pyrokinesis to douse the flames. He didn't let himself think too hard on it.

He raised an eyebrow when the features of his armor made him realize he was dealing with a Twi'lek Mandalorian.

He felt the rage bubble in the rebels next to him but said nothing. It was not his job to dissuade their feelings of wrath. After all, it wasn't his planet getting sacked.

"Traitor!" A Twi'lek rebel screamed, aiming her rifle at the wounded Mandalorian...only for Nathan's hand to grab her rifle and yank upward, throwing off her aim.

"He is unarmed and severely wounded. He cannot fight back." Nathan pointed out. "It's a crime if you kill him."

"Who's gonna know?" The Rebel asked.

Nathan leaned forward slightly.

"You will." he answered back coldly.

The Rebel stared back at Nathan and lowered her rifle.

"We leave him." The Rebel spat. "I ain't giving aid to no traitor."

Nathan shrugged. "Fair enough."

Nathan soon gathered everyone else and they went hunting for more targets...

Vulpesen didn't even have a chance to respond to his captain's query before its subject came barreling towards them. "Crux!" He slammed a hard shove into Garlan's chest and jumped upwards, sending the soldier sliding across the ground while Dima's tail grazed his own in its passing. Then the blue blur swept upwards and Vulpesen twisted his body around it, swirling in the air with an aiding gust of force propelled wind while his leg snapped out, aiming to slam his shin into the creature's neck, just below her helmet. "Garlan! Give Aid!" he shouted as ignited his saber, preparing to continue his offensive. He was good, and he knew better than to hold back with any attack, but he doubted that this Mandalorian would be felled by a single kick, no matter how well he timed it.

The captain, rolling to his feet, knew better than to get into a fight with monster when it took two force users to contend with them. "Three-two! Divert to my location! Zipher element, you too!" Hefting his grenade launcher, Garlan pushed into the bowels of the star destroyer, making his way towards the bridge to help any injured in the crash.

The hair on Elias’ neck prickled, a sudden jolt of coolness rushing over his skin. Then, the familiar ignition of a Mandalorian jetpack followed by the roar of a wristrocket.

Elias turned on his heels, relying on the Force to redirect the missile. It crashed into the trunk of a whiptree, exploding and shattering it to splinters. He whipped his lightsaber up to catch the flurry of blaster bolts that rained down on him, sending them back in a haze he hoped would disorient her while he backpedaled.

He could sense her anger and tenacity, but they weren’t wanton like the other commandos he’d faced on Rodia; There was intent and strategy in her sudden assault.

She was pushing him back an uncomfortable distance from the Calypso, his only escape from Ryloth should retreat prove necessary. He couldn’t let her separate him from the ship, or worse, destroy it. He planted his feet, holding his ground with formidable resolve.

He had committed himself to this war just moments ago, and now was the time to prove that to himself and to the Enclave.

Elias Edo would fight.

The banter between Kahlil and the Mandalorian was muffled behind the violent ringing in her ears.

She'd lessened the force of the explosion and her own impact, but it still took Cora a few moments to clamber from the rocky debris and right herself.

"Ugh…"

Steadying herself against a partially crumbled stone pillar, she squinted and pinched the bridge of her nose between her thumb and forefinger. Her vision was still swimming, and by the time she managed to open her eyes fully, she was suddenly very grateful for Kahlil's presence. Without so much as a scratch, he'd drawn their opponent's attention and sent her crashing to the ground. If he hadn't been here, she very likely wouldn't have been afforded the time to recover.

Right, he doesn't need me at this point.

It was a sobering thought. Kahlil was one of the most capable people she'd ever met. As her senses stabilized, Cora turned her attention towards the rebels as they fled the collapsing tunnels, the scene abruptly reminding her that this fight wasn't about her pride.

With a sharp intake of breath followed by a heavy exhale, Cora yanked another rock from the pile of debris and sent it hurtling towards an approaching bucket head that sought to spray blaster fire at the Twi'lek rebels. The rock clattered off the side of his helmet with a decisive clunk.

"Over here, rapscallion!"

Kahlil_Div2.png

"Now you stay your hand, Mandalorian?"

Kahlil just stared in disbelief before his eyes narrowed. The pressure he'd put on her shoulders faded as he stepped forward, instead pulling on the Force to send her whip to the side. He brought his blade around for the blasts, but gritted his teeth as he felt the sudden impact. Charric, then? His Lightsaber flew from his hand, his wrist bruised. Broken, but he didn't pay it much mind. Instead his other hand called it back midflight.

"You can't bring yourself to kill them now that you can see them? It'd be so much easier just to gas them and leave them to a wickedly cruel death. One you wouldn't have to see. I respect your people for the warriors they are-"

He stepped again, this time propelling himself suddenly forward in a burst of speed as he brought his blade down with one hand, and pulled to bring her towards him with the other, broken hand.

"But you're a goddamn coward."

As Katherine continued her sprint down the streets, she opted to clip her lightsaber back to her belt. Right now it was useless, especially at range with the type of armaments her opponent was using. She was liable to lose her lightsaber; and her hand, from an explosion trying to block one of those slugthrowers.

Instead she focused on trying to create as much distance as possible. However, even amongst the chaos and carnage erupting across the city, there was no mistaking the sound of a jetpack roaring to life. Katherine imagined the golden warrior was cursing something in their native tongue, eloquent for a ticked off Mandalorian.

Well Kat, that’s what you get for pissing off a jealous mando.

The winged Padawan glanced back in time to see Mevia launch a missile towards her. Katherine quickly spun around, throwing herself to the ground backwards. As the projectile drew closer, the Jedi threw her hands up and used the Force to arc the missile away, diverting its course into a nearby building. Stone and glass shattered all around, forcing the Padawan to raise an arm up to shield her face.

Katherine didn’t get much of a breather however, as the telltale sound of whistling birds zipped through the air. Calling upon the Force once more, the Padawan put her all into one last Push as the tiny missiles got close. Katherine let out a yell as she unleashed it, sending the whistling birds off course, but once again into the nearby buildings. What she hadn’t anticipated was the extra explosive punch that was packed into them. The Padawan quickly huddled into a ball, protecting herself as more and more debris was sent hurtling across from both sides of the street.

I’m not gonna be able to keep up being defensive for much longer. I need to close the gap again.

She pushed herself back up onto her feet, knowing full well her opponent wasn’t going to just stop there. Katherine watched as the Mandalorian hit the ground, and immediately grabbed another rifle to fire.

Thinking on her feet, and knowing she had little time to spare, the Padawan called upon a lesson her Master had taught her. She traced the rune for ‘Barrier’ into the air before her, pushing what she could muster of the Force into it. Maintaining it wasn’t needed, she just needed it up at the right moment.

As the plasma beam streaked down the street, the bubble around Katherine began to form.

Ka-boom!

Within the moment of the barrier sealing, the plasma made contact. An explosion tore apart the street around the impact site. The kinetic energy of it sent Katherine hurtling backwards, only stopping when her back finally struck something. She crumpled to the ground, falling to one knee and immediately coughed up some blood.

That’s probably not good…” She muttered, taking a moment to look down at herself. Her previously silver armour was now charred black, at least the majority of it across her torso and legs. Katherine looked up to see a thick column of smoke was now obscuring any sight down the street, from where the Mandalorian had fired from. “Can’t stay here, gotta keep going…

Katherine forced herself back up onto her feet, despite her shaking legs. She tried to take a step, only to stumble and almost collapse again. The Padawan looked up into the sky, letting out an exhausted sigh.

Guess it was time to take things up into the air.

The Padawan grasped at the clasp of her cloak, fingers shaking as she unfastened it and threw it to the side. A pair of bloodstained wings fanned out, stretching for a moment before Katherine leaped into the air with a mighty flap of her wings.

She only hoped Mevia wasn’t able to see through the smoke too well. The Padawan needed to get out of sight if her plan was going to work. Katherine was betting on the Mandalorian to keep grounded, to push forwards and check to see if she had hit her mark. Only, she’d find a discarded cloak on the ground.

The massive explosions were satisfactory. Glass rained from above and rubble hailed onto the ground. Mevia landed for a moment, activating her energy shield and letting the debris bounce off the plasma orb surrounding her. As she hung the rifle on her back, she activated her buy'ce's heads up display, trying to see through the thick, hazy smoke with the HUD's various vision settings. Too far away for now, she edged closer as the debris lightened up. The energy shield shut off as she walked into the explosion's destination zones. The HUD scanned for lifeforms, only to feedback negative on anything. Mevia paused, in the center of the smoldering crater, confused. No life signatures, no dead bodies. So how-

Her HUD rang, causing Mevia to look up. The glint of a pointed object came thrust down upon her, like an archangel's ultimate judgement. Mevia moved, pushing herself back and leaning backwards. A heavy force slammed into her chest, and Mevia was winded as she found herself on the ground, a spear shoved against her armor. Thankfully, it did not pierce through, but Mevia had felt quite the thump there.

She moaned, taking the moment to look up. Oh. This Jedi had wings too. What was next? Claws?

The winged Jedi's blood stained wings flapped and twitched, blocking Mevia's view of the sun above. It still karking hurt, the heavy battering ram that knocked on her ribcage. She was on the ground, shoved down and shackled. Freedom was blocked out by this angel of judgement, and it made her furious.

With an audible growl, Mevia lifted a hand and grabbed the spear with a hand. She shoved, pushing the spear back and unbalancing her opponent. She lifted a boot and used the repulser in attempts to shove her back, coordinated with a heavy kick to the shin. As her opponent lost her grip on her, Mevia jumped up and activated her jetpack. Instinct told her to fly. And so she did.

Taking to the sky, the Mandalorian found herself glaring at the Jedi, who had risen above to meet her as well. But she looked down, and saw the descruction over Ryloth. It was strangely disconnected from up here, watching her fellow soldiers fighting twi'lik rebels and Jedi intruders. It was bizarre, watching so much destruction play out before her. The shattering of buildings and rapid fighting between soldiers. Mevia pulled off her buy'ce, to see it with her eyes. The Chiss woman looked down upon the chaos, and felt the strange tingling of an emotion she never thought she'd feel. Remorse. Were these rebels not fighting for their own freedom? The same kind of freedom Mevia craved?

She gritted her teeth.

No. These rebels had defied the Enclave, needlessly provoked the Enclave when they previously had a good deal. But even worse, their own Karjr had been slain, and the rebels had slaughtered the Enclave's own. It could not stand. It would not stand. She had to believe that.

With a bitter scowl on her face, she put the buy'ce back on and looked up to her opponent. Midair, the Mandalorian panted in pain as she lifted her arm and aimed the vambrace at her opponent.

<"Damn it all...">

She fired a stream of acid towards the winged Jedi.

Celt laughed as Kahlil Noble Kahlil Noble mocked her, her brief mercy being nothing to do with cowardice or seeing who she killed, more a decision of tactical priorities.

You can't bring yourself to kill them now that you can see them?

"Shooting unarmed soldiers in the back as they flee for their lives? A very noble suggestion, the Jedi code has certainly changed since I was taught about it."

She felt the tug of the Jedi warlord on her body but did not fight it to allow herself keep her balance as the distance closed. The tall man brought his plasma blade down over her head and she barely got her arm above herself to block in. Her buckler sheild flared brightly before it failed and the blade gouged a chunk into its workings and scored a mark across the beskar plate of her vambrace. His strength also caused her to bend down into her knees as she tried to deflect the blow further. As her knee bend she activated the rocket darts on her knee. Had she had time to aim and been in the position of her choice, he would likely be nursing serious injuries to his stomach. But this was a shot of a woman who faced a dangerous predicament and fired of whatever she could in order to try and find what little advantage she might.

Her ally, with his attention pulled by the younger Jedi Corazona von Ascania Corazona von Ascania , lifted his gauntlet and replied to her stone with a gout of liquid flame. He strafed his position to try and find himself in a better place while the burning fuel washed over and past her. "Let's see what you've got, little Jedi witch!" he shouted.

His own HUD tracked the woman's position within the smoke but also flashed up the position of a fast moving friendly that was coming to greet them. The battle against the rebels was going in their favour, and the Saxon commandos had completed their primary objective of silencing the guns on this outpost. Several of the positions had even be retasked to aid the mandalorians, but this secondary objective was only partially complete due to the intervention of the Jedi.

<<Alor'ad, incoming extraction vehicle ETA sixty seconds>> he said more quietly into his comm for his captain to hear.

<<Affirmative.. busy>> was her response as she fought against the shield of the Jedi and wondered how the next sixty seconds might go as she regained her footing and again tried to strike with her whip.

When the smoke and debris cleared, Valery seemingly vanished into thin air. Shai lowered her pistols slightly as she scanned her surroundings with no results at all. Baby had arrived to take care of Valery’s droid, from the look of things, which amused Shai to a degree. For some it seemed like overkill, but from a different perspective it showed how crafty astromech droids could be.

With her sensors and scanners yielding little results, Shai pulled off her helmet and dropped it to the floor. Almost immediately her eyes widened as the smell of fresh blood filled her nostrils. A smell that got stronger after a moment. She was doing the invisibility thing.

Immediately Shai shifted her stance and slowly holstered her one pistol as she waited for her sister to make her move. She had a strong suspicion, it was only a matter of time to see if she was right.

Her mane stood on end and the Wardog spun around to block the lightsaber strike to her back with her vambrace. Simultaneously She fired her repulsor at Valery as her face contorted into a snarl. ”Really?! You wanna try that against me?” She called out, more out of frustration than anger. But despite her words, Shai didn’t move against Valery. Her pistol remained low and her free hand stayed on the grip of the other as she stared at Valery.

The carnage of war roared around them, drawing Shai’s attention as a heavy sigh escaped her. Her shoulders sagged and her second pistol was holstered. She wasn’t fighting some Sith warrior here. Valery didn’t deserve to be gunned down and mutilated like them. No, this had to be a proper duel. With another sigh Shai drew her Beskad with her left hand and deployed her round shield on her right vambrace.

She stood upright and held her Beskad horizontally by her forehead, before shifting it down to cross her cuirass, an old salute the Wardog gave all opponents who demanded respect. She was now in Valery’s territory… but that didn’t mean she didn’t stand a chance.

Her jetpack came to life as Shai blasted toward Valery with her shield raised, but it cut out to let her slide along the ground just before she reached her. As she slid, she swung at Valery’s legs with her Beskad before jumping back up to press her assault.

Understandably the little droid scurried off to find cover as Baby’s rotary cannon let loose, disintegrating a line behind the astromech before shifting its aim. Another glimpse of the fleeing droid and another burst of the powerful weapon, yet no results.

A low growl rumbled in the wind as Baby shifted his position, scanning the surrounding area. :: Chances of victory are subpar, BB-unit. Resistance is futile. :: Baby’s low rumbles and growls echoed as he shifted again.

A hologram shot into the air, drawing the Basilisk’s fury as he let loose with his rotary cannon and heavy laser cannons in overwhelming wrath to obliterate the droid’s cover. His fire ceased, but his cannon kept spinning as he flicked through his vision modes to locate the BB-droid. :: What is your designation, BB-unit? ::

YOU KNOW IT

"An eye for an eye huh? Is that how you see it? Enough of the bloodshed, come down and face me like a true warrior!"

A smirk spread behind her helmet. He wanted one, he'd get one. She'd been preparing for it.

While he was still yelling, the ion engines already propelled her towards him, laying down blasterfire on him to keep him occupied.

Until the last moment...

<You want it, you got it.>
The beskad clashed against his saber. At the same time, flames erupted from her vambrace at point blank while her blade pressed against his. Her armour was resistant to flames and heat. The Jedi would be different story.

Her jetpack gave her the agility she needed to pull back and bring down the beskad in a downward stroke as if to cleave his head in two. But at the very last second, she changed direction to rather slice at his midsection from the side.

<Look alive Jedi! You wanted a warrior's fight.>

Eyes narrowed behind the visor.

She knew he'd deflect the rocket. She just didn't know how. It was never meant to be lethal.

"I am not with them. I fight on my own, masterless. Do you know what your kind did to my home? You will all pay for it. Every last one."

With that he came at her faster than expected. There was no time except to angle her body in such a way to grab the saber blade with her hand, the cortosis weave undersuit coming in for the clutch. At the same time, her head was brought forward at point blank to try and have the beskar helmet do the talking against soft facial bone.

Then she gunned the engines to hurtle them both to the ground with the jetpack. He would either have to let go or get slammed into the earth of Ryloth. She would slow her own descent with aid of her jump boots.

Setting down a few paces away from him, she trained a blaster on him once more.
"Hardly the noble thing to do to attack a power that never had anything to do it. Pretty one-track minded. And I thought I'm the Mando'ad here." she said, still waiting. He clearly wanted her on the ground. She merely did it on her own terms. She was no young Mando'ad looking to draw first blood in a battle.

She could hold her own on his level.

"Come on then."

For a moment, Zorana watched Elias do exactly as she planned — he handled the rocket the way she'd suspect he would, and now he was slowly moving back to create distance and cover himself against the storm of blaster fire. But she quickly realized that she wasn't fighting some barely trained Padawan or young Jedi Knight seeking to prove themselves. He understood what she was trying to do, and without losing his calm and rushing back towards his ship, he simply stood his ground.

This had to be a Jedi Master.

The grin behind her helmet grew at the thought of killing one of his stature, and with a flip of a mental switch, she began to take this a lot more seriously as well.

The boosters of her jetpack roared once more, as she began closing the distance fast, all whilst peppering him with more blaster fire to keep him grounded. Some of the bolts were deflected back, and even fewer struck her armor. It was a risk she had to take to get close, but she trusted in her equipment and soared overhead with her flamethrowers already beginning their ignition sequence. So, the very second she was within range, she created a difference in thrust between her two jetpack boosters and spun around while hot flames spread everywhere.

Lightsabers wouldn't block fire, this much she knew, but Zorana was aware they had other methods to defend themselves against it. By setting not just this Jedi ablaze but the environment around him, he'd be surrounded by heat and smoke — a deadly combination for most.

Right before her strike would land, Valery felt the hairs in her neck rising. The Force sent out a warning, and she knew better than to ignore it after years of trusting its guidance. Shai's optics and more typical senses were not able to detect her, but the one sense that could, had alarmed her of what Valery was trying to do. It resulted in the activation of her repulsors, not to cause harm but to drive Valery back.

Shai didn't even raise her pistols against her.

"This isn't going to end well for either of us, Shai," Valery said after she made her landing back on the ground. This fight had no winner, as far as she was concerned. If one of them died here, the other would be left with grief and the knowledge that one family would lose its mother and wife today. She dreaded that outcome, but she wasn't going to stand down. She had made her decision, and so had Shai.

The War Dog then made her own landing and drew her blade for melee combat. Seeing this, Valery returned her double-bladed weapon back down to her hip, and instead presented the lightsaber Shai had made her once more. The weapon then came up, an X was carved in the air to salute her sister before combat, and she dropped it back down. Briefly, her eyes scanned for BB-610 BB-610 , who was being hunted down by a Basilisk War Droid.

As much as Valery wanted to rush to his aid, she had to trust him to hold his own for now.

"Come on, then," she said with a clenched jaw and pain in her eyes when her gaze returned to her sister. Shai wasted no time and used her jetpack to accelerate rapidly, and utilized her shield to slid along the ground. Valery jumped with explosive Force, and flipped over the blade before hitting the ground hard on purpose. On impact, a wave of Force energy burst out, ripping up the ground as it traveled towards Shai.

But it was only a distraction.

In the wake of the blast, Valery charged for her sister, and swept her blade towards whatever gaps in her armor she could find. Not with the intent to prolong the battle, but for the first time, with the intent to cut her down.

Elias could sense her ferocity. She was eager, to kill him he presumed. It was deeply provocative.

An entire philosophy - one’s whole life - dedicated to wanton death… the Jedi Master couldn’t understand it. But he didn’t have to. He only needed to best her.

Zorana Zorana must have realized he wasn’t willing to part with the Calypso, as she pressed him harder by closing the distance she’d created. Then came the flames. Always with the flames. Just another vessel of destruction.

Elias planted his feet firmly, closing his eyes and focusing on the day he trained with the Padawans under Vulpesen Vulpesen at the temple. Fire was a hungry force, but it didn’t have to consume him to be satisfied. The Force Master drew on his strength, swirling the air around him in a telekinetic sphere of wind that swirled the flames and smoke around him. Inside the defensive orb, only the heat itself managed to touch him.

He held himself inside, skin sweating and stinging as the fire torrented around and overhead. When he could hold it no longer, he took a risk he hoped would end this fight - or buy him time to adjust to the next weapon his foe had.

Elias whipped the superheated air and embers into a projectile stream, sending it barreling for the Mandalorian as best he could. Fire was not his favored element, but it wasn’t entirely unlike the electric arcs he and Shan Pavond Shan Pavond studied together.

On the tail of the fire whip came Elias’ voice, booming to compete with the roar of jetpack thrusters.

It doesn’t have to be this way!” he shouted.

There is still a chance for peace!

Words of futility, he knew, but everyone deserved their definitive chance to do good. After that was wasted…

… that’s what the lightsaber was for.

The sound of distant roaring grew closer, with loud footsteps quaking the ground as the Basilisk took the bait and rapidly approached. While he had anticipated it, BB-610 was hardly comforted by it, flinching as a deafening crackle of energy was blast into the surrounding area, chipping away at rock and stone, cracks splintering throughout the canyons as the war droid's fire demolished their constitution and forced them to come tumbling down, crashing onto the floor with a thick cloud of scattered dust.

While the astromech remained unharmed, a significant portion of his cover had been destroyed, reduced to rubble. As the Basilisk bellowed, BB-610 seized the opportunity in repositioning, speeding across the ground from one spire to another with the lingering plumes of dust masking his movements. If he had a heart, it would no doubt he racing, beating out of his chest as BB-610 peered around corners, keeping his photoreceptors fixed on his adversary.

The dust had settled, and the whirring of a cannon remained. BB-610 ran through his options; the Basilisk had the high ground, making it an awful lot more difficult to get on top of it, even with the closed distance between them. His droidbrain racked through calculations, estimating the travel time of a well-aimed grapple, but even then, he wouldn't have enough leg room to properly keep the Basilisk at bay. It was at that moment that BB-610 realized, horribly, that the best idea would be to play into the war droid's hand.

He needed it to think that it was close to victory. A false sense of security, that the astromech had finally ran out of options. BB-610 whimpered, knowing that he'd be putting himself into harm's way even more-- but he needed to get back to Valery, he needed her to win, no matter how battered and dented he got in the process.

BB-610 swallowed his fears. He emerged from behind his cover, taking aim at the Basilisk's upper body. He wouldn't have enough time to properly drill into its cockpit, but all he needed was to distract lure it back from where they came. BB-610 would be back in the open, at a severe disadvantage, but he had to trust himself.

Designation. He remembered when he would talk like that; cold and calculated, still so bound to his programming. But he had grown far beyond the ones and zeroes that made up his code, and whereas once he would have replied with a flat 'BB-610', he had a name now, something greater than strings of numbers that listed him as one of many identical BB-units.

Firing his cable launcher as it hooked onto the Basilisk's chassis, BB-610 sped forward, boosting his momentum until he swung into the air, carried by his grapple and swerving around until he landed atop the war droid with a thunk. He swiftly scanned the Basilisk's frame, identifying its compartments for later use.

«My name is Bee,» he chirped, struggling to remain tethered to the war droid as he glanced to the horizon, mapping out the path he needed to run to. He knew it was dangerous, that the war droid more than likely had ways to dispose of him, but a few bruises and beatings would be worth it.

«Droid of Jedi Master Valery Noble, Sword of the Jedi; and I will do anything to protect her.»

"Who are you calling a witch! Oh sh-"

Surprise blunted her tone before she could manage to curse. Which, as far as Cora was concerned, was a good thing. The jet of flames currently sweeping the field was less of a good thing, and she scrambled back to avoid it. The Padawan threw an arm over her mouth as brush caught in the fire began to smolder, giving off a black, acrid smoke that burned her throat and obscured her vision.

"Nng…" She grunted, cringing as she skirted away from the flames that licked at her feet. Valery and Kahlil often manipulated fire to great effect, and it had been a skill that fascinated her from the beginning. Cora closed her eyes to avoid the smoke and extended her senses outward, locking onto the vague position of the Mandalorian commando from behind the wall of smoke. It became clearer and more precise as she moved through the inferno, subtly manipulating the heat around her to bend from her path.

From within the wall of smoke, she sent a bola spinning towards the Mandalorian's legs, attempting to bind them between the two weights. Surging from the fire, she rushed towards her opponent with her blade drawn, sending a force push towards him while arcing her saber in a slash.

Silas smirked slightly and was successful in goading the bounty hunter forward, but would it be more than he could handle?

Deflecting her blaster shots away he moved forwards to meet her beskad with his lightsaber. A cold look stared into the helmet visor of the warrior in front of him as they fought to better each other. However, Silas would soon begin to feel an agonising warmth go across his arms. The knight gritted his teeth and jumped back, his hand quickly reaching up to rip the on fire jacket and throw it to the ground "Resorting to fire now are we?" he grunted while he felt the burn of the fire against his arms.

At the same time, she didn't give him any breathing room and aimed to cut him in two. Instinctively, Silas raised his saber up to block the strike only to be tricked at the last moment. The Jedi shot his eyes open and tried to snap his body to the right instead, only for him to be caught by her dangerous weapon.

Silas released a loud yell and placed his left hand on his side. He looked down and saw blood pouring from a long slash, one that was deep and true. Most of the time he was able to avoid such blows like this, but the Mandalorian had caught him at a careless time. Now that he was paying the price, Silas couldn't let her gain another confidence boost like that again.

Without warning, Silas force pushed her back first into the stone guard tower with force. Then soon after he'd grip a boulder sized piece of debris from the crashed shuttle and fling it directly into her body to try and squash her against the solid structure.

"And you'll get a warriors fight!"

The ships were coming. People who would help the injured far better than he ever could were arriving. As he set one last body to lie on the ground, Felix waited until those medical shuttles touched down and soldiers and medics rushed out to greet him. Well, if Felix had decided to stay behind.

But he was gone by the time the medical staff and their protection arrived on the scene. A ghost in the wind.

He would need to pick up his jacket later. For now, it could remain the temporary sling as he began heading in the direction of the one who caused the crash. He could sense her and others. Amid the violence within the city and the sounds of laserfire and explosions, the battle raging along the outer portion of the city. That and it was in the same direction as that loud music.

Hugging himself against a wall and peering around a corner, Felix spotted a Cathar Jedi and a Zarren soldier. A wilder? But his main target Dima had been spotted easily enough. As dust and smoke kicked up, Felix's eyes kept track of their different forms. He waited and watched, allowing each individual to make their move first.

Before Felix stepped in.

Stepping out from around the corner, Felix aimed his cybernetic arm before a sudden hiss escaped. A wire with a small grapple point fired forth from his robo-arm as Felix aimed for the metal line to wrap around Dima's legs. Once it locked around Dima's leg, Felix began rappelling the line towards himself as well as pulling as hard as he can. Every muscle bulged and stretched as his arms raised up to yank the line towards himself. His eyes glowed for a moment as he tapped into his species' strength, into his own force potential.

For a moment, he tapped into that power. And his strength rivaled that of Dima's for a brief moment before he lost concentration, lost his grasp on that power as it slipped through his proverbial fingers.

All of this just to trip Dima up. Hopefully, it would work and give the other two combatants the advantage necessary to pin the alien mandalorian down.
