Uncommon and Unpredictable

Kay-Larr

Kay shook her head as [member="Veiere Arenais"] had gotten it a little wrong. She only wished that she had sent them away on her own violition. It would have meant that she had the choice. "I didn't send them away for their protection. Others did while I was recovering from injuries. Yet I never looked for them. I had exiled myself for five years and slowly rebuilt my life after that. I didn't want to endanger them and my old friends had all disappeared, so I couldn't inquire about it, nor did I have the funds to pay for a search."

Her eyes dropped to the food on their plates as she thought of [member="Bradshaw Ku"] arriving for an interview and the mess he made in her office as a result of his anger towards her. Kay looked up to Veiere again, knowing that the return of a child was a link to her first husband, even though it wasn't in blood. And in marrying her, Veiere was also taking Brad into his life. That was something that she knew he didn't bargain for. Regardless if the link to her past, she still wanted to go forward with Veiere by her side. "He was very angry and blamed me for Shaw's death. Yet he calmed down and came to realize that it wasn't entirely my fault. And just as you didn't know about him, he doesn't yet know about you."

Veiere nodded a little as he listened, taking in the story with a little more detail than before. The tension of her past all flowing through into the present, she was being generous in sharing all of this with him as it was a part of who she was, an intimate part of her life which held a great deal of emotion for her. They had spoken of her late Husband but never in detail the nature of her adopted children, children who had no say in their separation from their family, who were innocent of the crimes that had been done to any of them and in being cast out, that innocence seemingly having been stolen from them that they be forced to live harder lives isolated out on their own.

"I understand your reasons and forgive me as this is not my place to judge, but I feel you made an error when you did not seek them out...-I don't blame you for wanting to keep them safe, I understand their lives may have been in peril but if this was the decision of people outside of your family, it should not have been allowed. Politics for all the grief that it is, could always have been dropped and taken back up later but your children will have suffered without the love you can give them..."

These were hard words, words that perhaps she had already told herself and certainly those that she wouldn't enjoy coming from Veiere's mouth and yet he had always told her what he felt to be true. He understood the pain of her Son, the need to blame someone no matter how misplaced that blame was, the fact was there was still an aspect in [member="Bradshaw Ku"]'s loss that Kay could have tried to control yet did not. In the light of all things of the Galaxy, this family was far from a bad one considering the many millions of other stories out there, abuse and neglect, all the worst kinds of people and their failures to raise good children, to protect and comfort their own. [member="Lady Kay"] was by all means a good person, one of honesty and true morale fiber as was her son Veiere would come to realize, though his potential was buried under his mask, a facade of himself that he put up so he didn't have to show who he really was, how he really felt...

"Don't run from that anymore. Don't hide his place in your life..." Veiere concluded though his words were gentle and his tone somewhat apprehensive, hoping not to have hurt her in expressing his feelings on this particular matter; "The more you try to cover for it, the less justified his place in your heart will feel. We can protect your children, but I can't help you rebuild the love that you might have given him as a family...-And what of his Sister, where is she?".

Kay furrowed her brows, clenching her jaw while [member="Veiere Arenais"] spoke his mind on what had happened 15 years ago. She didn't allow it to happen and politucs wasn't the reasoning behind it. The death of Shaw had shocked and frightened everyone around them. It was through that fear and grief that she was convinced to not seek them out. But it wasn't as though she hadn't regretted it. Even now, her enemies such as [member="Thraxis"] have been waiting and hunting the two down in an effort to cause her more suffering. Somehow, Thraxis had already discovered that one of her children had already been found. What was she to do then if the Jackal captured him?

She stared at the blanket, not liking the direction that her thoughts were going. Veiere spoke his truth from his point of view and even though it hurt, she still respected him for it.

"I'm not hiding it from him, Veiere. Just from everyone else. I'm just trying to protect him, even from himself. He wants to use a Princely title in order to flaunt it in order to bed women. He even wants me to find some eligable Princess for him." She sighed and looked up to Veiere then. "I don't know where Rae-Anna is. And he doesn't know either."

"Of course he wants to go out there and flaunt his heritage..." Veiere spoke as if it was obvious though he rolled his eyes at the same time, understanding how this might not sit well with [member="Lady Kay"], "He's just a lad after all...He's going to go out there and get drunk, going to want to try his hand with women, he's going to go through all these things that make you worry because he's your Son and that's what they do...". Padawan, Veiere had found were no different though the background of which they had been raised in was much more restrictive, this didn't always help to alleviate the burden of the younger generations, the mind and the emotions, the hormones that drove them on in life to do what most would think of as either petty or completely foolhardy things, @Bradshaw was no different and it all sounded as though he hadn't the time to experience a life where he didn't have to constantly watch over his own back, instead relying on any sort of parental figure. "It's only natural that there will be some concerns...-He's never had you in his recent life, he's not going to know the expectations that are on him, nor will he respond well to being hidden from the world like he doesn't exist in your love and affection, Kay..." He needed her to hear these things not for his benefit but for theirs. Relationships in families were hugely complicated, especially when a third of ones time was spent having been removed and isolated away from said family.

"You're hiding him from the past while standing in the way of his future..." Veiere leaned forward, looking to Kay almost pleading for her to understand where he was coming from. "He needs a mother. He's lost his father just as you lost your Husband, he needs to see that he still has a place in your life...-If that opens him up to attack from outside influences then deal with that if it happens but you're not the same person you were either, you're not helpless to protect him and you're not alone. You lead an entire world who's military is at your finger tips and while you spend your days caring over an entire population, you're fearing that you can't protect one?..." he posed it as a question though he soon lifted a hand to suggest that it was rhetorical, he wanted her to pause for a moment and take that in. [member="Bradshaw Ku"] was her son and she would protect him fiercely but while their past had crippled them, Veiere could only see the potential future having not been there and experienced it for himself.

"And you should focus on finding the Girl. If something has happened to her, you would not forgive yourself!".

Kay dropped her gaze once again as [member="Veiere Arenais"] informed her of [member="Bradshaw Ku"] 's right to behave the way that he does. She sat there in silence, her brows furrowed in concentration as she did her best to hold her emotions back. She didn't want to cry, didn't want to be blamed for what had happened. It was stirring up the awfulness of what had happened all those years ago. She had to relive it over and over again during her captivity and she had thought that her freedom and moving on would rid her of that.

Yet she was very wrong.

She swallowed. This was not how she had planned the afternoon to go. As Veiere leaned closer to her in order to drive his point, she remained perfectly still. It was all that she could do to prevent herself from getting up and running away. Veiere was right, and she knew that. But still she was filled with such worry. It had seemed that the choices that she was making in order to protect her family were the wrong ones.

Kay slid her plate of food away from her. She had lost her appetite. She was swimming underwater, unable to break the surface to reach safety while she struggled. So she just had to let herself drown....

"....Okay....I will do what you say. Though I don't expect a lot to come of it." Only trouble. Trouble was about the only thing that never failed to appear. [member="Thraxis"] ' warning came to mind. He wanted her children. Making their whereabouts public was just going to make it easier for him.

"I've been thinking on something for a while..."

Veiere announced in response to her doubts about her Son's future, his words to follow would include not only [member="Bradshaw Ku"] but she too, and many others should they find success in the venture. "There is a land not far from my home in the mountains, to the west of Chasin City, the Illaria Woodlands...-You'll know it, your Government owns it..." he reached for his glass of wine, bringing it to his lips to wet his tongue and take a moment of pause that [member="Lady Kay"] might find her interest in the conversation again, "I wish to use it to rebuild the Order, to follow in the way of the Jedi of old...-Not in their teachings but in their priorities, a place to value the lives of the common people. I want to train others so that they might be better prepared in looking after this world and this government. There are many different kinds of people out there, the Sith, Rogue Jedi, Vigilantes and vagrants...-I feel your Son could have a place here and I want you to have all final say over it's movements, it's direction..."

It might be a lot to drop on her in the moment but if she thought about it, perhaps she'd see the promise in letting Brad take a place in amongst this would-be Order. Not only would it keep him focused on Commenor but so too would it help to build up his practice and experience in the Force, to make him stronger and that in time, should he be attacked or his life or the life of his mother threatened in any way, Veiere would too stand beside him and ensure that no harm would come their way.

"Just as the Republic had done once, the Order here can remain completely seperate to the seat of governance on Commenor. You can lead your end and I will reside over mine, but we will always stand together and at the end of the day, you are the Queen, you will reside over both ends while it is my hope, that you will trust in me to do as best as I can for the care of those capable in the Force....-What I am suggesting here is by no means a small feat but one that could greatly benefit Commenori space".

Kay-Larr

Sphaera Tea Company Owner
Kay continued to stare at nothing in particular, that is until [member="Veiere Arenais"] had mentioned the Illaria Woodlands. She lifted her head up and looked over to him. Veiere had a knack for being able to shift her focus from herself and to something else. If anything, she didn't want something to put a wedge between them.

He sipped his wine then, and she nodded her head a little to encourage him to continue with his thoughts. And so he did. Yet what he was thinking about wasn't what she had expected. A new Order, and one where she had the final say? But that could entail her revealing her secret to others, some that she more than likely wouldn't know. Kay wasn't quite sure she was ready to do that. Veiere was right, however. It would be a good place for Brad to go.

And then Veiere said something that she hadn't expected. He called her a Queen instead of a President. Did he accept it finally, after all this time? And by the sounds of it, he wanted his own small piece to rule over. Or rather to shape in the way that he thought was best. Veiere was a born leader. He was just a reluctant one. "You may create this Order. I'll sign off the land that you need to ensure that no company or Embassy can claim it. If this will give you peace of mind while you're here, if it will make you happy, then I'll be glad to do it." The last thing that she had wanted was for him to feel stuck with her and with Commenor. "Despite our....slight differences of opinion, I just want what's best for you. You deserve to have something go right."

She loved him, she had let him go, and he had returned to her. Kay felt as though she would always let him do as he wished. Arguing was just a waste of time. Life was too short for that.

"You want what's best for me, while I'm trying to think about the both of us..." Veiere mused with a quiet chuckle, his smile an attempt at breaking the tension of their discussion, soon gesturing to the environment around them, "As well as all of this..." He meant Commenor as a whole though the beauty of the gardens helped to compliment his wish to protect such places. "I'm no politician Kay...-Whether you make me a King or otherwise, I've no tolerance for the lies of men. It's the force that calls to me and my interest in not only delving into my own training but encouraging others to rise up into it through a controlled and safe environment. Your son could benefit from this Praxeum I hope to found. Bradshaw and many others...-They could be trained to protect the things that we both love, the peace and diplomacy that is Commenor's interests at heart...", they didn't need the Dark Side of the Force nor the ways of the Sith to make Commenor strong, no matter what her would be master had tried to tell her. They needed the heart to persevere and the temperance and compassion of self to follow their bid for power on moral lines. Commenor was by no means a warring state, and Kay's time in office was founded upon ideals of peace and co-operation with those that might have otherwise looked to them as potential enemies once upon a time.

"Sometimes I wonder if you don't take me a little too seriously for the way that I express myself..." He swirled his glass of wine in his right hand, speaking from the gut on the moment, his eyes on hers. She had a way of reacting to the things that he suggested in an almost threatened manner, as if his conclusions were almost combating her own. It didn't happen all the time though the times that it had occurred, it had bothered him; "By no means do I ever mean to impose on your way of doing things Kay, I hope you understand this. When we talk about our past or our ideals, our hopes for things ahead and we discuss whatever few differences in opinion we might have, it is merely conversation. I'd never look to turn you away...".

Kay gave the tiniest of smiles. Yes, she put everyone ahead of herself when it came to making them happy. But there was so much that she wasn't allowed anyways, giving up a little more didn't seem that big of a deal to her. But [member="Veiere Arenais"] certainly noticed.

She poured herself a bit of water and had a sip, listening to him speak about how the Praxeum would help Brad. More than likely it would. And it would also give the two some time together, bonding time. That would do well for all three of them.

Kay met his gaze as he affirmed the meaning behind everything that he talks to her about. She gets defensive, she knew that, but she was only trying her best. Her former Master used to remove her freedoms whenever he felt that she did wrong, like being merciful. So perhaps she was just waiting for punishment whenever they disagreed.

The truth was, she looked up to Veiere, was drawn to him and never wanted to dissapoint him. She wanted him with her always. But saying such things with words was difficult. So instead she slid herself closer to him, so that they would be side by side, inches apart. "....I don't mean to be quick to anger or anything else. I just...can't help it. But I'm getting better. I have a friend that is helping me come to terms with myself. He's gone through it on his own. With your added wisdom and encouragement, my recovery is quicker. I am just sorry that it all happened to begin with. Maybe if I'd of been more forward with you, we would've already been married and I might of been less of a target. I just hope that you don't become one because of me." It isn't far fetched of an idea for them to be used against eachother by their enemies.

Veiere chuckled quietly to himself, perhaps it was partly the wine but her ending remark amused him a fair deal. "Kay, I've lived years of my life as a Jedi of the Order...-Even when the Republic was strong, there was rarely a time where we weren't a target of some great grudge. People have always and will always continue to counter the path I feel I must follow because it is part of the job, part of what makes me who I am. There will always be those that fail to understand those capable in the force and even more so who come to cross me in the defense of others, where they would readily mistreat the innocent. In every foul deed I try to deter, I will find an enemy in someone and that is a simple matter of the galaxy we live in...-So please, stop worrying about how negatively you feel you might affect my life, you've done nothing but give me something beyond my dedication to the force. I used to believe that all wonders of this life could be discovered within my studies of the Force itself, it's miraculous and at times unbelievable feats and yet outside of it I found you on Alzoc Three. Perhaps it was fate or however else you might pass it off as pre-ordained or some such nonsense but none of this is to say that you are bringing me any further trouble than I do not already go out of my way to deter of my own accord. It's here with you that I am the happiest..." he grinned a sheepish smile, knowing that in the moment he'd possibly said more than what was needed but if only to drive the point home, he leaned into her and found her lips with his, kissing her in a longing moment of compassion, his left hand stroking her cheek, not letting her slip away from him until he was ready to break it and soon exhale under his breath, a warm brush of air against her chin, soon pulling back to find her gaze and holding the look.

"I am not like the millions of people you are responsible for, I am tied to your life not by obligation but by choice and I will forever refuse for you to feel in any way beholden to me as if I am owed something. When I am here with you, I'd prefer you speak your mind, nothing less...-I'm here with you, for you. Whatever uncertainties or doubts that you might have...-You will learn to overcome them. You've been through a lot and I know it's hard for you to trust others given what you've been through..-Yet I don't ever wish to hear you apologize for what HE did to you..." His words faded, his gaze seeming to falter from hers, looking passed her now as he thought of Prazutis. Every ounce of his training as a Jedi deterred him from showing the anger that had been buried down inside of him for her sake and yet he'd be lying to himself if he were to say he didn't want the heart of the man who had broken hers. Turning back to her, he forced a wary smile and reached up to brush some of her fringe back behind her ear; "We are both still here...-And you are still in charge of this world, shaping its future...-What happened is behind us, there's still so much good you can do here".

Worry. That's all that Kay seemed to do when it came to the few that she cared for. For the moment she was glad that she couldn't remember most of them. It gave her a little less to worry about. Perhaps the root of the cause is due to her trauma, and wanting to protect others from suffering the same fate.

[member="Veiere Arenais"] snuck in another kiss after giving the kind of grin that took the years off of him, carrying a kind of glint in his eye that a teenager would have. Kay didn't pull away. Instead she savoured it, most especially how soft his hand was on her cheek. She wanted to be held in his arms again, but he broke the kiss, his words distracting her from her own thoughts, instead bringing to bear some new ones. Was she apologizing for what Prazutis had done to her? That wasn't how she saw it. She knew that it was her fault to begin with. She was weak and wasn't able to prevent her capture to begin with. She held on for as long as she could, but maybe it wasn't long enough. She had killed people, hurt people, all without remorse or any kind of emotion at all. She just did as she was told or run the risk of losing her freedom.

And now? Now she was doing whatever she wanted. Her rewards were to have both Veiere and her son in her life. And maybe some day her daughter too, if she was still alive.

Kay glanced off to the side. How long was she going to be in charge of Commenor? For life? Was she ever going to get out of the spotlight and have privacy again? It was difficult to say, and she lacked the gift of foresight. She reached up, stroking his cheek before sliding her hand to his hair, spiralling it around her finger. "I wish at times that it would be just us. Yet I suppose that we'll have that chance right after the wedding. Where did you want to go for that? Your estate? Or elsewhere? And I'll have to convince Darlyn to not have anyone follow us. That'll get his anxiety up for sure..."

Their prospective wedding was something they had yet to discuss in any real detail though it was about time they had, Veiere smiled at the mention of it and soon found himself taking another sip of his wine whilst thinking ahead to what might best suit them and their positions over Commenor. She was the high Queen and he soon to be King yet so too the First Knight of Commenor in which he would help oversee the structure and progress of the Force Praxeum there, their responsibilities would keep them grounded had they let them, yet there was too great importance in their freedom of choice, their need to grow as a couple and spend some quality time together.

"I think we should head somewhere after it all..." He decided on the spot that a personal trip would do them some great benefit, "Somewhere in the system not so far away that we can't return in the case of emergency though the time to share together a holiday would do us both greatly. You've rarely had the chance to unwind and I too have been too caught up in the matters of the Force that neither of us have really had the chance to enjoy each others company. This is a relationship we're sharing, and while our responsibilities are vitally important, so too is our happiness...". As for the Ceremony itself, Veiere didn't rightly know what the proper structure or organization of things were, he had never actually been to a wedding himself, the Order had steered him clear of such attachments in the past before his exile and after all that, he had been so isolated for so many years, his leave from Alzoc III had jumped him right into the business of democrats and warlords, a galaxy of chaos which for him he had too few positive memories to show for his efforts. [member="Lady Kay"] was the counterweight to all the indifference, all the conflict and aggression and share distaste that so many seemed to hold for those that opposed them in a difference of beliefs and actions.

"End of the day, I will support you in whatever you decide, so long as it happens...".

Kay found herself at ease again. The change in the topic of conversation had helped. She found herself just gazing at [member="Veiere Arenais"] , his soft voice putting her in nearly a trance-like state. It was almost as powerful effect as Sapir tea had on her. Just the combination of his gentle tone and kind eyes settled her anxiety and underlaying anger for all that had gone wrong in the past year.

"Well, Brelor isn't far, yet it's very secluded. No one lives there anymore. But it was once given away as a vacation home to a leader of the Rebellion. Despite us getting ambushed by a Sith Lord there before....did you want to go back there? It might put Darlyn at ease if we were close by. Of course he shouldn't worry since I have you with me. I'm just trying to think of where we could go where we wouldn't be interrupted...." Kay gave him a wink, although she couldn't stop her cheeks from reddening slightly. So she distracted his attention away from herself, or at least she tried to. "I was thinking that we could have our wedding broadcasted. Then there'd be less need to have hundreds of people there. And...it would show everyone that I am no longer available. So you wouldn't have to worry about anyone trying to vy for my hand."

She was already working on preperations and some fun for the invited guests besides drinking and dancing. Hopefully there would be no uninvited guests to ruin their day.

The prospect of their wedding being broadcast across millions of screens didn't exactly leave him feeling any more encouraged than the hundreds of people potentially present that likely wouldn't recognize who he was, the fame and image of it all completely surrounded Kay's position as a monarch compared to the union of their relationship and yet these things were a simple matter of what needed to be, for the sake of Commenor he more or less had to agree to it. "I suppose if you think that's what's best for the people...-Though I can remember a time where your guardsman thought me a traitor for my part in the upset surrounding your return. It's hard to imagine the populace will be all too pleased with all of this..." He had to put it out there, partly to see if she'd be able to encourage him otherwise though too because he hated the weight that politics held over them both, he had never been a fan of partaking in that game of thrones, only enthusiastic over the spanning result that democracy held over peoples, yet never wanting to be a key factor in it all himself. In hind sight, things on Ession could only really have gone one way.

As far as his memories of Folor went, the Sith Lord [member="Tirdarius"] had dropped in on their would be private time there the last opportunity they had and Veiere wanted no sort of repeat in the future; "Somewhere else would be best" He shook his head briefly, "The Sith know of it and I want not to be concerned with their like while we're meant to be enjoying ourselves. Why not take a venture further out, under the guise of civilians...-Take public transport and head out somewhere we've not been before...It could be exciting".

Kay took [member="Veiere Arenais"] ' hand in her own as it was his turn to speak of his doubts. She interlocked their fingers, while leaving his other hand to be available for his wine. "There are still people here that challenge my own position. But they are much quieter now. Darlyn has hand picked many of the guards and he has no issues with you. As my husband, you'll hold authority over them and as they will see you fully supporting me, it'll show that you aren't a traitor at all."

With her free hand, she traced her finger along his jawline and then leaned in for a soft, lingering kiss. He had her support as much as she had his and she had hoped that he'd come to realize that soon enough. The others didn't matter, especially as it was just the two of them out there in the labyrinth at the moment. It gave her more of a sense of freedom to be herself, a part of which she was still trying to rediscover.

After she broke the kiss, she wrapped his arm around her shoulders and lay her head near his neck. Kay listened to Veiere's suggestion of where they could go and how to get there. "Pretend to be normal again? We could certainly try. We could go through one of the secret passageways to get into Chasin City, that way no one would see us leaving the Palace. But I'll leave you to convincing Darlyn that no guards would be following us..."

Veiere leaned into her, resting his head lightly atop [member="Lady Kay"]'s while his eyes searched the gardens in thought to himself, soon making it vocal. "I'm not sure how I feel about having this supposed 'power' over anyone in truth, you've seen the effects of my leadership before...-It hasn't amounted to a great deal in the past" He smiled against her despite the truth of his words from his point of view, "Though I will do what I can to help you in your position. I suppose it can be said that with two of us, your personal work will be halved...-I just wonder how they'll respond to my requests...-Taking orders from a publicly known Force User, like you've always been concerned about". It hadn't occurred to him until now that there might be a problem there, back when she had first sought to take leadership as the peoples President, the Elders had advised that she keep her sensitivity a closed secret for her sake, more so than the peoples. Though they weren't around anymore, he still questioned whether or not the people would tolerate a King who wielded such a power, would it bolster their confidence in him or would it destroy it completely.

"As far as the wedding is concerned...-Our marriage to be..." He paused so that he might glance down and take her gaze into his, "We could always push things forward a bit. Have a private one for ourselves and then do some sort of ceremony for the people...That way we would still have our privacy yet promote things for Commenor in a positive light afterwards...-Hell, you'd get to relive the day a second time" He grinned a little, clearly eager to get their wedding underway. Kay was his everything, his rock that had kept him strong through so many struggles both physical and mental. There were a great deal of questions surrounding his personal future and where his path was to lead him as a Jedi, yet the one certainty in all things was that they had one another and he so depended on her.

Kay listened to his concerns about having authority over the Commenori. She knew that events in the past had given him some resentment for it. "As I've said before, you're a born leader. You have your areas of expertise and I have mine. We compliment eachother, that's why we fit so well together."

[member="Veiere Arenais"] touched on her secret. True enough, he didn't have to hide. There was no reason for him to. "The Commenori don't quite have a problem with Force users persay...It's other governments that do. I learned that well enough in the Republic. Maintaining my secret makes me appear more trustworthy."

Kay looked up at Veiere as he changed the topic. His idea of a private ceremony for the two of them sounded lovely. As far as a big ceremony was concerned, she didn't really have anyone to walk her down the isle, or to be flower maidens for her. Except for maybe some of her staff. All of those that she had counted as friends were all men. In a way that was quite strange. At least Veiere didn't act on jealousy. Truth be told, he had nothing to worry about. He was the only one that she wanted, despite what some other men may believe. "A private ceremony? That would aleviate some of the stress of it all for me. I just don't know who would be performing the ceremony, but I'll find someone. Olivia might know." Kay was relying on her assistant more these days. Her counselling sessions were over and have been so for a while now. With things moving forward the way that they were, it could only mean that she was doing better.

"You'd know better with these things than I, I'm afraid" Veiere admitted honestly in regards to the organization of such a thing. If it weren't for [member="Lady Kay"] then he'd have more than likely remained single, and quite possibly stayed on Alzoc III in all truth. The prospect of marriage however had never been something he'd really considered possible. Of course, every Jedi went through stages in their lives where they'd think on the possibility of relationships yet back in his time it was swiftly discouraged through meditation and training of the body and the mind. At the end of the day, he supposed that his decline from the Galactic Republic had really been the best thing for him, shaking him enough away from that traditionalist mindset in order to open himself up more to people like Kay Larr.

"I wonder how the boy will handle the news..." He soon thought of [member="Bradshaw Ku"], Kay's adopted son and his soon-to-be Step-Son. Her daughter wasn't presently in her life and that saddened him for her sake yet too Bradshaw was an elusive figure from what Veiere could gather and he wondered if they would ever actually hit it off for the boy to consider him in any way a fatherly figure. "I would never seek to take his father's place, you know this..." He touched on Kay's ex-husband for the sake of her son, referring to them as direct family as in truth, they really had no one closer and the difference in their blood didn't make them any less family as far as he was concerned, "I just hope he's willing to keep an open mind about it all. Hopefully the kid likes me or at the very least can learn to tolerate me" he chuckled softly, glancing down as he plucked his glass of whine and finished the last of it before looking to her searching her reaction.

She probably did know more about weddings than he did. It wasn't just because she was a lady. It was more so because she had been married before. So she had experience, although it was something that most would only want to have to go through once.

Then [member="Veiere Arenais"] brought up [member="Bradshaw Ku"] as well as Shaw. They were all only a family for four years before her late husband's untimely death, far shorter than the span inbetween here and now. What Veiere had said about not taking Shaw's place touched her. He seemed to have put some thought into it.

And yet as he chuckled about Brad tolerating him, Kay had to laugh a little herself. "I don't think that there'll be much of an issue. Brad is so excited at the prospect of being a Prince, that I just have to try to tone it down. He uses it to try to sleep with women, I know that. And he needs training to control his temper and Force use. I won't always have the time, so I hope that you would be able to spare some. If anything, that could draw us all closer together." Or at least that's how she hoped it would be. Brad was unpredictable at times. Hopefully he'd get better, as a crown won't deflate his ego at all, but make it even bigger. She needed him to be more responsible.

"I would like to train the lad in every chance we're given" Veiere agreed readily, he wished to see the potential growth that [member="Bradshaw Ku"] held; to Veiere's knowledge though they weren't blood, he had been brought up in a life surrounded by those close to him all capable in the Force and that sharing of strength often reflected onto others, he could grow to be quite the formidable practitioner though too a dangerous one if not encouraged to keep a keen mind and know his limits, the light and the dark sides of the Force were counterparts of the same miracle of life, yet they played against one another too with the emotions that men carried and more so than most women, men held the greater tendencies for violence that the Dark-side was most often attracted to.

"Perhaps he'll get to know me for the man that I am, not the history that I represent..." Veiere knew well that his background pegged him in a certain light, most Jedi today were not of the same traditionalist make that they used to be but regardless of then and the now, all peoples had a knack for distrusting both the Sith and the Jedi for their abilities many considered unnatural. Always fearing the things they could not themselves understand, it often made life difficult.
