Skirmish Undoubtedly Despicable [ATTN: SJO]

TRACK VII

Lliara came to the rescue to both big croc Dumbal and Roman halting the energy wave bound to hit the two. She gave them the breather they needed; in the flash of a second he assessed the overarching situation - where the hell was Maijan? A quick movement of the Sephi Jedi's fingers and Roman knew he had bigger problems. Lightning fast reflexes to fire potshots and interrupt her voodoo bore no fruit except for the spine chilling sound of pathetic clicks. Roman hadn't counted his fired shots, rookie mistake; especially when facing adversaries such as the bathrobe monks.

A painful migraine hammered his head abruptly, followed by dizziness and a rather mild disconnection from reality. He scowled and grinded his teeth as sweat broke on his forehead. Focus, Roman, FOCUS!, was it his words or his old mentor's? Shit. The detachment from his senses paved way for a crate launched at him; it slammed him and forced him to stagger, nearly fall. Motherkarker. The ringing noise of Jedi artifacts spilling from the crate on the ground amplified the voodoo-induced migraine and Roman felt like tearing the scalp off his own head.

Shots being fired from behind him, Wynter's, he presumed due to their familiar noise, at the duo of Jedi and the former terrorist switched gears to muscle memory. He emptied the chamber and slammed in new slugs, the dizziness letting him drop a few on the ground but with whatever he had been able to load, Roman let it all loose at the two Jedi while shouting at Dumbal, "Get 'em!!"

In his Force smacked mind, he counted on Wynter and his shots at the two Jedi to give the scary Suchur the opportunity to get into the Jedi's faces.

That's when the fun begins.

The swings at Roman lacked any style behind them, the burning sensations running along the entirety of his weapon arm preventing him from having any sort of technique behind them. Fortunately the other Jedi had helped distract the smooth talker enough and Kiegan got close enough where nothing but the strength of the swings mattered.

The tool was swung wildly as Kiegan batted the gun out of Wynter Rackham Wynter Rackham 's hand before returning it to slam into the pirate's ribs as hard as he could. The strike connected, but whoever this man was could take a hit for certain.

"Would be impolite of me... to go down... without returning the favour." An attempt to return the smack-talk coming between heavy breaths. Kiegan could feel himself slowing down from the blood, but he managed to disarm the man. Now it was a matter of just knocking him out.

Unfortunately Kiegan wasn't the only one who had backup.

As the blaster bolt left the gun of Malcoma Hesse Malcoma Hesse , Jamie couldn't sense anything wrong. Her lack of battle experience making her focus on Wynter and Wynter alone. But the force told Kiegan that his sister's life was in danger, forcing the mistake of looking away from his opponent to save Jamie Lysle Jamie Lysle . She was close enough to save, but Keegs didn't have time to defend her with any finesse. He just threw his reach out barely close enough to block the shot, the shock in Jamie's face only doubling as Wynter took the opportunity Malcoma had given him.

Blood smeared quickly to replace the dirt on Kiegan's shirt as Wynter's knife easily found it's way into the Hapan's gut, the blade digging deep and twisting heavily before the Elder Lysle managed to grip his hand and turn to stare at him. As blood began to pour into his body, Kiegan knew this fight was over. He lost.

All that mattered was giving Jamie a chance to get away.

As the pickaxe fell from Kiegan's arm he pivoted his foot to aim toward Rackham, pulling his head back as he tightening his grip on the man's knife hand and used his newly free hand to grab his shirt. The Elder Lysle drove his head as hard as he could into the face of Wynter, part of him hoping to wreck the pirate's face and his smooth talking nature with it.

With that final hit, Kiegan fell back on the floor unconscious. His already fuzzy vision fading completely with the headbutt.

It wasn't long before Jamie was on top of him, her hands pressed against the knife wound. She didn't have enough experience in healing to fix her brother, but at least she could stop the blood from filling into his lungs until a proper Jedi Master could come along.

"Hey c'mon Keegs, hold on." Her focus was solely on his wound, she couldn't fight off the pirates if she wanted. Jamie just prayed they would see her as a non-combatant and avoid her. "I know you aren't done yet." Tears began to well around her eyes as the blood began to stain her hands.

The one-two went off without a hitch.

Kiegan Lysle Kiegan Lysle over-extending himself, which left an opening for Wynter to step in and take him out. In truth the outlaw didn't feel much joy about it. Just two stupid arse kids, who had no business being here in the first place. "Ain't that a schutta..." He murmured as Kiegan refused to just let go. Instead trying to solidify his hold over Wynter as much as possible. "...that be the Jedi way, kid, tinker toy child soldiers... and ya just a cog." It shouldn't have been him on this field of massacre.

It should have been the Jedi Masters, the veteran soldiers, and all that Wyn could think about was the One Sith and what he had done there.

For his part Kiegan responded in perhaps the most appropriate way possible.

Head-butt SLAM straight in his face.

Too close to try and dodge it. Too focused on his own little thoughts to counter it in any way. So Kiegan's head slammed hard into Wynter's face. He'd feel something crack there. Nose breaking under the pressure, cheek chipping. The sudden force caused him to stumble backwards. He fell on his ass there, but by then Kiegan had already fallen to the ground.

His sister struggling over his body to keep him alive.

"Just... another day in paradise, innit?" He murmured, grabbing hold of his revolver on the ground, before slowly climbing back up to his feet. If that comment had been to Malcoma behind him or just to himself was anyone's guess. Wyn's face was a ruin now. Blood seeping down, nose a wreck, he grunted as he stepped forward.

There was a haze there.

The need to retaliate. Revolver at a ready to shoot them both just for keeps.... and then Wyn grimaced before stepping past the dying Kiegan and his sister. "Not a word." That one definitely to Malcoma Hesse Malcoma Hesse .

Instead as the battle waged around them his attention was on Caedyn Arenais and lesser so on Kyra Perl Kyra Perl behind him.

"How long ya gonna sit on ya arse there, Master Jedi, hm? Too busy protecting ya lil' girlfriend, while people be dying jus' in front of ya?" He flourished the vibro-knife, still bloody, before cracking his neck. "Ya wanna save him? Ya should get a move on it." And there Wynter grinned his bloody grin.

Somehow his face ruined only made him more terrifying.

Now would be a really great time to be able to affect the physical world with her influence. Despite her best efforts, Maijan grunted under the considerable weight of the crate she was trying to stagger back to The Undoubtedly. She did her darnedest to keeper her focus, but all the gun shots and wounds happening around her - she was afraid everyone was losing sight of the plot and purpose of being here.

Meanwhile, Rock-man ( Rissk Rissk ) was getting his rocks off just hurling the crates instead of loading them up into the ship. She growled in protest, and was unable to keep her frustrations trapped behind her teeth.

"Throw those the other direction!" She called out, with a voice that belonged to nobody visible.

Her steps were clumsy beneath the weight of the crate she cradled, and she lowered herself to rest the crate for a minute and catch her breath. Meanwhile, things were getting sticky on the dance floor.

Okay, maybe the golden magician could lend a hand to the fray.

There was still that nuisance pair in her way back to the ship, and if she didn't deal with them, monster man might have to in order to drag the crates back to the cargo hold. So, still concealed under the veil of the white current, she crept behind the pair of Jedi who were threatening the captain, and delivered a swift kick to the back of the pink one's knees. With a foot made of gold, she suspected it'd make a crumpling impact.

Pace yourself.

Let go of your feelings.

Caedyn Arenais knew who he was talking to, right? Her free hand unconsciously gripped at the back of her master's robes, her heart fluttering in stress as Kiegan Lysle Kiegan Lysle went down. "No," she breathed, stepping forward to reach them. Jamie Lysle Jamie Lysle panic reached her loud and clear throughout the chaos, the empath more in tuned with her friend than the cacophony of strangers around her.

She had to help her!

The action to leave the force bubble Caedyn had provided was cut short as Gida'Vida Gida'Vida appeared at their side. As fast as light, the woman must have done that force-speed Caedyn had Kyra working on. Kyra was about to vocalize very shrill protests. They couldn't pull back-- they had to push forward-- friends were dying over there. Instead she screeched in shock as something hard crashed into the back of her knee. She went down, the pain jarring. But for a moment the contact with the assailant overrode all else. And she intimately sensed the source of it.

Out of breath-- wanting out-- Hey don't chuck that at me--

Kyra realized there was more than one stranger behind them, their aura tangible to her mind's eye. Even as Maijan Paisea Maijan Paisea pulled back, the sense of her lingered at the tip of Kyra's tongue. Whosa what! She reached for a discarded rock, whipping it through the air and at the crook sitting out of view. "Rude! Show yourself!"

Closing the distance between them, Malcoma barely heard it whether meant for her or not:

"Just... another day in paradise, innit?"

Oh, Wynter Rackham Wynter Rackham , you certainly knew how to show a girl the nicer things in life.

There was room for one sarcastic thought as she focused on the captain righting himself. Her eyes flicked to his face, momentarily assessing the damage - maybe in vain judgement, maybe with sincere concern she'd never admit - but then to the revolver. She didn't get to figure what she was going to do to spare the siblings - jump in front of the barrel? shoot the gun out of his hand? beat him more herself? - before Wynter decided against adding injury to...injury himself. A small sigh passed her lips. What was it laced with: Irony? Hypocrisy? Either, whatever. She was going one place when she finally kicked it anyway. She just prayed death would spare her face.

She followed after Wynter as he moved past the duo's victims, casting one last glance down to Jamie Lysle Jamie Lysle . It took all of her willpower not to falter, hesitate again.

She looked just enough like Stori.

Look away. Catch up to Wynter. Step up behind him. Her tone dropped and she whispered, "Not a one, darling." She might have said thank you, was she anyone but herself.

Nothing was ever simple with Kyra Perl Kyra Perl , though in situations such as these, plans were bound to go awry. The Jedi Knight sensed her urgency to move to Kiegan Lysle's aid, yet something caught her attention elsewhere after seeing that help was on it's way to her friend.

"How long ya gonna sit on ya arse there, Master Jedi, hm?
Too busy protecting ya lil' girlfriend, while people be dying jus' in front of ya?
Ya wanna save him? Ya should get a move on it
."

Lovely commentary there from the street educated mind of a Criminal. Caedyn might have thrown back a likely quip, however his Padawan was dropped to a knee by something on his six, and she quickly scrambled to throw a....Well, a rock. Had the Force not alerted him to the hostile presence, he might have also taken the moment to question his Padawan on her choice of projectile.

Instead, Caedyn Arenais reached out with his left hand summoning a wealth of energy from around them, flowing up through his center and across his arm before unleashing a wall of telekinetic force in the direction of where the elusive Maijan Paisea Maijan Paisea was hiding. The wave of force was enough to throw everything within her general vicinity flying, and in doing so offering his Padawan brief respite to consider her follow-up action.

Turning back to search for Wynter Rackham Wynter Rackham , Caedyn glared in frustration. The man wasn't alone either, he had Malcoma Hesse Malcoma Hesse there with him and it wasn't difficult to presume the Jedi Knight was being baited. Leave the Padawan and expose her to overwhelming odds. Wynter would be disappointed.

Perhaps it was boring compared to their short lived lives of risk versus reward, yet Caedyn had a responsibility to his Padawan and would not allow her to become a statistic like so many others victimized by the uncivilized of their society.

Samara didn't want to see any blood shed. The Force knows she had seen enough on Ruusan, some of it spilled by her own hand. She believed if she could reach the leaders and subdue the others would turn tail. Instead Samara had been hit by one of the crates. The Jedi couldn't have been out for more then a few seconds, but it had been long enough for things to turn bad. A padawan was on the ground bleeding out and more Jedi were in trouble. Leaping to her feet Sam reached Kiegan Lysle Kiegan Lysle . She was no healer, barely proficient enough to heal herself. But her own skills in biology told her she just needed to stop the bleeding long enough for the padawan to see a real healer. Placing a hand over the wound Samara let her senses reach into the blood, to the water that resided within. She felt as the blood around the wound began to grow cold, forming an icy seal over the injury.

The only problem was that it was hot enough on the surface of Ruusan to melt the seal in moments. She couldn't stop what she was doing a leave his side to help the others. But Caedyn Arenais and Kyra Perl Kyra Perl needed help. Soon others would close in on their position. Sam still felt weak from the earth shaping she'd done previously, but there was little choice. Reaching down to the deepest well of power she still had Samara lifted her blood covered hand from Kiegan's wound. She could feel the darkness within that well of energy, threatening to consume her. Instead the Jedi acted as a conduit for it, allowing it to flow through her within leaving its taint.

She turned towards the lizard man and the others, slamming a fist down hard on the surface. The ground rumbled again as a wall of the stone rose up three meters high, stretching across a large portion of the landing field blocking sight and easy access to Wynter Rackham Wynter Rackham and Malcoma Hesse Malcoma Hesse . Next she turned her attention to those two. Her bloodied hand returned to Kiegan, continuing to reinforce the frozen seal as she reached the other hand out towards the two raiders. A funnel of hurricane force winds began to wrap around them, pushing away from the other Jedi. Vision began to blur around her eyes as the strain of using these techniques were becoming to much. But she refused to give up, pushing through it all to give her fellow Jedi time.

Dumbal wanted, more than anything, to charge.

It was in every fiber of his being. Every formative moment of his youth, every aspect of his training, every dream he had ever witnessed, had been in service to hunting and killing those with the Force. Now, everything was less black and white than they had been but weeks before. Back on Nalrobi, he had known that those with Gris were the enemy, those who were not were his basq-mates.

Now, he fought side-by-side with those who wielded the tools of the enemy. His enemy wielded swords of light, and displayed an aptitude for their magics beyond what those on his home planet possessed. He needed to know how he stacked up. He needed to know that all of his training, all of his dedication as a witchhunter, wasn't for naught.

He felt the magic roiling around him. One of his targets, Sakadi Marathi Sinvala Sakadi Marathi Sinvala , had begun to use it on The Fool The Fool , to cloud his mind. Dumbal knew that the huntcaller needed help. He needed his assistance. He needed to attack.

But then, another voice. Maijan Paisea Maijan Paisea 's, from thin air. Telling him to focus on the mission at hand. Throw the crates back, the spoils of the raid.

It would have been a dilemma of conscience for anyone else. Help an ally and engage in glorious battle, or turn his back to secure ancient artifacts of a people he cared nothing for?

"No," he growled into thin air.

The Suchur sped forward, disregarding Maijan's insistence, making a bee-line for the Jedi Sakadi, using Roman's distraction to attempt to slip past the Padawan Cadere Cadere , and into the space of the Master. She might notice the large, sloppy-looking overhead slash of his vibroblade. But he doubted, in her distracted state, she would notice his powerful, paddle-like tail aimed for her ankles. Oddly cunning and deceptive for a brute.

Sakadi's eyes widened as her advancement was nearly directly halted. A crate slammed into her target ( The Fool The Fool ) and as he fell, a second shooter ( Wynter Rackham Wynter Rackham ) who was positioned behind her target revealed himself. Luckily, it didn't catch her by surprise, as he stood in her direct line of sight. What was less fortunate, however, was that she immediately had to break off her mental assault, instead swiftly re-purposing the swirling energy of the Living Force to enhance her own physical prowess.

Relying on her Force enhancements to perform a backward flip over the flurry of shots, Sakadi landed five meters further away from where she previously stood. While she had gracefull managed to evade the slugs fired by Wynter, the Jedi Master was still heavily under pressure. Slugs flew mere inches past her mid-jump, as Roman emptied the chamber on her and her Padawan. If it weren't for her own movement and the after effects of the mind trick, she would have been riddled by slugs.

As her feet touched the ground, the final two slugs reached her. Again she would attempt to evade the slugs, but this time it was less successful. Sakadi placed her right feet behind her left, turning her body in an attempt to narrowly avoid the slugs. She was too late, however, as the slugs grazed her upper left arm and her right thigh in the middle of her movement. The energy coatings of the slugs were dissipated by the black bodyglove she wore underneath her tunic, but the solid projectiles tore through her skin and tunic. The sharp pain was severely lessened as she still relied on the Force to invigorate her body, but it wasn't exactly a comfortable feeling.

As she struggled to maintain her control over the Force for a second, the Sephi decided to change up her approach. Sakadi reached for the second weapon on her belt, just as the one individual who towered above all others attracted her attention ( Rissk Rissk ). He was hard to miss, especially after she had created some distance between her and the other combatants.

Forsaking caution, the Jedi remained in place as the lizard came at her with an exaggerated overhead strike. Capitalizing on her opening, the Jedi Master raised her saber. If his vibroblade truly came down at her, her lightsaber would make contact with, and probably cut through, his forearms. That was, if her Force invigorated body could handle the ferocious hit.

Meanwhile, the purple shoto would ignite in her left hand. She held it in a reverse grip, initially hoping to slash at the lizard's legs. But the sudden appearance of a huge spiked tail heading straight for her made Sakadi change its trajectory in a split second. She held the shoto vertically to her left as she lowered herself, hoping to severely damage the tail before it would slam into her and send her flying.

This was becoming too much even for Cas, but in his moment of weakness he recalled his older teachings to not allow himself to become distracted and centre himself in the here and the now. A mischievous grin formed once he saw the crate managed to hit The Fool The Fool - although, that coupled with Sakadi's mental attacks seemed to make him more mad.

Cas saw someone else ( Wynter Rackham Wynter Rackham ) behind take a shot at his Master before he and Roman unloaded at both on both of them - luckily he didn't need to warn her as she could also see the attack coming. The Padawan performed a side flip, enhanced by the Force, out of danger but his side was grazed by one of the stray slugs. Landing a few metres away from Sakadi, he noticed her take the brunt of the damage, protecting him "Master!" he called out, deeply concerned for her. Cas was ready to engage Roman and Wynter head-on.

Then things had to get worse, he had completely forgotten about Rissk Rissk and now he too was after the Sephi Master. "Dammit." he quietly muttered to himself, clenching his lightsaber with both hands he rushed to aid Sakadi and witnessed him attack her with an overhead strike. With the lizard's attention focused on Sakadi, the Padawan extended one of his arms and channelled the Living Force before sending a small wave of telekinetic energy at the beast, not to knock him down but to stagger him.

Long enough for Cas to perform an air cartwheel, enhanced by the Force, when close enough to him and over the beast's head. As he leapt overhead, he would use his lightsaber in an attempt to slice one of his eyes. Whether this failed, Cas was aware of his surroundings and potential interruptions and because of this, he had his lightsaber ready to defend himself. This entire manoeuvre was a gamble at best, but he had to keep the pressure off Sakadi.

Maijan tried to backpedal as best she could, but the weaponized pebble connected with her throat. It tinked noisily against her golden flesh, and despite the hard exterior of her plating, the part-Firrerreo staggered backward in shock. Her hand flew up to the affected area as she gasped in surprise and loss of air. Her invisibility struggled to maintain, and was completely useless against the torrent of telekinesis that ended up sweeping her off her feet and sending her rolling backward several feet.

The crate she'd made a good distance ended up bowling backward as well.

That really sent her over the edge.

"Fething kark-herders!" She coughed, rising to tabletop position and blinking furiously while trying to regain her composure. "Fething ego-driven..crew...so-called-mates....focus on the gorram payload.. and.." her mutterings here sliding through clenched teeth while she dusted herself off and glared hotly in the direction of the plucky pink queen and her overwatch.

Now completely visible, the dark-eyed woman's glare was ablaze with frustration at the clusterheck this had boiled down to. She was not coming to Jedi territory and leaving empty handed. This scene was absolutely chaotic, which could work in her favour. With the right angles...all the right people could be recreated, and the entire thing replicated a distance away from where they truly were. In a few seconds of discombobulation, they could make it out with some of these shiny artifacts.

"I need a really big distraction if we're going to do anything useful here today, guys."

TRACK VIII

Roman missed once again, the two Jedi slipping under his fingers no doubt aided by the space magic called the Force. Dumbal rushed in but his attention was suddenly taken by the invisible shout from none other than Magic Lady Maijan.

Feth.

He reached for his belt and for a moment hesitated between the thermal detonator or the flash 'nade. The fixer, cursing, yanked the latter out and hurled it upwards into the sky, "FLASHBANG!" he shouted as he ducked, shut his eyes and covered his ears; the sound was what got you the most. Karked with your ear fluid turning your world upside down. Cheap shot.

Hopefully, that was all that Maijan needed to play her trump card.

Now, Dumbal was in his element.

The thick of battle was where he enjoyed to be, more than anywhere. The thrill of danger, the savage joy that came from the kill, the fact that you could overpower anything and anyone, if you knew where to apply pressure. There was never an unwinnable battle, only the battles you resign yourself to lose. And currently, Dumbal thought he could win.

That was before his weapon was cut in half.

Dumbal had never encountered these swords made of light before, and had assumed them to be like any other weapon. Sakadi Marathi Sinvala Sakadi Marathi Sinvala 's upward block was met with Dumbal tightening his swing, meaning to crash into the blade, and force it down upon her. Instead, the vibroblade was cut cleanly in half, with the razor-sharp tip continuing on it's journey towards the Jedi's body. The crocodilian reacted fast, curling his tail-slap into himself, and retreating back a step, using the momentum to spin out of the way, holding half a weapon in his hand. He felt a small push then, which put him further on the back heel, but he recovered far more quickly this time, now that he was expecting their magic tricks.

Dumbal glanced up just as Cadere Cadere flipped over him, and he managed to duck his head. The blade would have scraped along the top of his head, scouring a deep wound, but the glancing blow was turned aside by the Suchur's magnetically-sealed scales, an advantage of his species.

Dumbal calculated quickly. He needed to find the advantage. The elder Jedi was obviously the better warrior, and another forward assault would likely reach similar conclusions. He had to attack her where she was most vulnerable; her student.

The witchhunter wheeled back further, seemingly retreating, before extending a jagged claw, and attempting the same trick on Cas as he had done with the marksman, attempting to use the Force to inflict sheer pain upon the boy.

He wasn't quite so sure he could win this fight anymore.

At least he was a rather large distraction.

No time for caution, no time for anything else than violence. Disruptor pistol needed a reload. Packed a mean punch, but didn't do well in a quick fight.

Tulan ran through his other options, watching the chaos of the battlefield. Breathing hard, he managed to make his way forward.

Fall back, get his rifle, engage at a distance.

Reload, try to fend them off with the Disruptor pistol.

His hands, managed to find themselves reloading the Disruptor. Sure enough, he looked down. Only one cartridge survived the blast to the plate carrier. The others were burned up, and he was lucky he wasn't burnt up with them. But he saw it in mid-air. Circular, large, and porous. A flashbang. Tulan weighed his options, and then braced his wrist on his left arm, and closed one eye. Breathing slowed, and he had to find the natural respiratory pause. Everything else moved slow, everything else slowed to a crawl.

Nobody was coming for Tulan, nobody was watching him.

Still a little air left in his lungs.

"Watch the birdy."

And it was gone. And he was still. Nothing hurt, only hurt when he breathed.

His sight picture was clear, and the reality that he truly, only had one shot, dawned on him. But he had to make it count.

And his shot went out. The disruptor bolt went for the flashbang.

Gunnery Sergeant Tulan Kor did a lot of things.

But miss? Rarely, if ever.

Lliara Daeva

Pharmaceuticals (Save|Kill)
Lliara reappeared alongside Maijan Paisea Maijan Paisea after she'd been knocked out of hiding, flustered by recent events. The red line of the helmet pivoted to regard the riled member of the crew. "Take my hand." The blaster had been holstered, while the metal staff remained extended in her left. Her right she offered to the sneak-thief that had been working to acquire the goods. "If you want to get something in particular, take my hand."

It wouldn't be long before Roman shouted everyone should take cover. Not long for the woman to decide whether to trust a stranger, or to try and decipher why Lliara even offered her hand, or what she planned to do.

The plan was simple, really. Actually, it was practically identical to what Maijan already had in store. Would Lliara try to steal her spot? Who could tell. A newcomer that hadn't even shown her face yet, who knew what her ambitions might be. Did it matter at that very moment, however? Perhaps they could 'get into it' later. Perhaps they would find they could coexist. Either way, Lliara extended her hand to the woman to see the job done. It was her choice to take it or not.

Especially since Lliara had already snagged a little something for herself. Don't tell Wynter.

Everyone had been so busy yelling, stabbing, shooting, and Force tempesting about that the new girl had simply vanished from the field. Well, that tended to happen when you knew of a rare technique to practically vanish from the world. Let's call it a special kind of invisibility. One that would let them get very close to whatever they wanted. Small down side though -- they'd need to 'pop' back in for a second long enough to snag something.

Now, hopefully that something wasn't a karking crate. Lliara didn't feel like getting exhausted for these people on the first outing. They still hadn't ponied up the credits to prove they were worth all this trouble. Well, circumstances being what they were, Lliara would simply have to go with the flow and deal with everything else later.

Kyra scrambled onto her feet, only vaguely aware of the reprieve Caedyn Arenais had granted her. The world was chaotic around them. It was suddenly impossible to tell friend from foe. Shots fired, Jamie cried, Kyra glared fiercely at the cursing Maijan Paisea Maijan Paisea . The woman was very clearly someone to take in. Kyra forced herself to take a deep breath and raise her saber, leaving Caedyn's side to step closer to her assailant on the ground.

"That was so rude. You're not going nowhere," Kyra asserted in return. "Hands up, you're under-"

"-FLASHBANG!"

Kyra turned on instinct, her lips parting in a 'wha-'

BOOM

Pain split through Kyra's skull, the cheap shot by Roman gaining Maijan just the distraction she needed. Kyra's vision cut out- her eyes squeezing shut at the bright flash of light. The sound sent her world turning, her equilibrium shot as an eardrum popped. Down she went, tumbling blindly. She curled up, braced for a blaster shot-- braced for more pain-- Hands went over her ears in an attempt to stopper the disorientation.

All she got was high pitched ringing, her vision blurring as she peeled back open her eyes to find things double. Heavy blinking cleared it, but not fast enough. A new person was besides Maijan, offering her a hand.

No wait- stop.

Kyra stumbled for her knees, only to fall backwards in slow motion-- her hand reaching out for the dropped saber on the ground.

Ah. Flashbang.

"Take your--what?" Maijan asked, completely perplexed by the arrival of the masked accomplice. What in the galaxy's name would be the benefit to taking someone's mitt in her own? She began to reach forward, but the current told her to wait. A single digit erected to manifest the universal signature of one-minute -- "Hold on."

FLASH BANG.

The world around them as they knew it was drowned in an incandescent, noisy glow. Shapes and shadows were all the naked eye could see and one's own ears ringing were all they could hear. With a sharp inhale, the marble-skinned woman took her cue. Roman had given her the equivalent of a blank slate to work with.

The current remained unaffected. It still coursed and weaved through all living and inanimate things. Each distinguishable from the other to the maestro's mind's eye. She exhaled calmly, and allowed her fingers to twitch and curl, gesturing the manifestations she wished to create. While everyone's senses were overwhelmed from the weapon's targeted stimulation, the illusion began to manifest.

Each and every one of The Undoubtably's crewmen slowly started to vanish. From their nose to their toes. Their footprints in the ground disappeared, the sound of their ragged breathing drowned out by the waters of the illusion and the residual impact of the flash bang. The ship itself was concealed in a cloak far stronger than anything a technomancer could create. Recreated silhouettes of the crew rushed up the landing pad, in a reconstructed picture of the ship. The landing gear withdrew, and it prepared for takeoff - zipping out of the atmosphere.

Under strain, Maijan grit her teeth while she made a purposeful point out to the atmosphere, sending the phantasm pirate ship out to the atmosphere. Then, she send an impressionable voice to her now invisible crew's mentality. This was a lot of stress and she felt like she was ripping apart at the seams.

Grab what we came for, and let's actually get out of here while we still can. The ship is where we left it, you'll find it easily enough with some feeling around. I can't keep this up for too long.

There were several things she could have done. Created an imaginary fleet, recreated the scenario around them to make them all feel teleported, but the strain would be not worth the payoff. Especially with so many self-serving individuals in the fray. At least this way the pirates could still do what they wanted without completely making the illusion useless and giving themselves up. Unless of course they struck out and tried to kill someone. That'd be pretty obvious.

Without further hesitation, once she was confident in the stability of her illusion, she took Lliara's hand. "I want that crate." She gestured absently behind her, to where the crate - also cloaked - rested. Only Maijan could see it.

It wasn't the Jedi way to let your emotions take over. Jamie knew that from all of the stories that she read in her childhood, imagining herself as a true Jedi. A paragon of virtue. But it was hard to recall those childhood stories as her brother's blood began to stain her hands, the wide cut barely holding some of insides in.

All Wynter Rackham Wynter Rackham would receive in response from the girl was an fierce glare. Jamie wanted to remember his face.

Malcoma Hesse Malcoma Hesse didn't receive much better as she stepped past the pair. The woman wasn't the one who hurt Kiegan, but she fething sure caused it to happen. Only as the pair began marching towards their next fight did Jamie allow herself to begin tearing up. Her breathing was heavy as she tried to figure out how to help Kiegan, applying pressure to the wound could only do so much. She wouldn't allow her brother to die though.

He still had so much of his bravado left to live up to.

"Come on now," The Hapan's voice was weak as she began to speak more for her own sake than Kiegan's. "You're ok, you're ok. I got you."

As much as she wanted that to be true, Jamie hadn't had much experience healing. Only what she had learned in classes with the masters of the Silver Jedi. It's much harder to put practice into action when there were people trying to kill you.

Fortunately a calmness came with Samara Galloway Samara Galloway , the sureness of a Jedi Master at least allowing for Jamie to loosen her focus on her brother's injury. Tears finally began to flow freely and strongly from the Hapan as Master Galloway froze over Kiegan's wound, preventing him from losing enough blood to kill him.

"Tha... Thank you." The words came out weakly from between a few sobs, the robe on her arm burying into her face to hide the fear she had felt.

But as much as Samara was doing to help Kiegan, even Jamie knew it wouldn't fix the wound that her brother had on his gut. It could only stop the bleeding. But that could be all the opportunity that Jamie needed. As the younger Lysle sniffed back the tears, she placed her bloodstained hands over the frozen wound. The coldness was irritating, but the stillness inside her brother caused by it was enough to allow it to work.

Jamie pressed through her emotions, closing her eyes to focus on the tears inside Kiegan. She began to pour the force into him as well as she could, pulling the less complex and more vitally damaged organs together. It wouldn't be enough to get him back to one hundred percent but at least it would stop him from dying. Jamie could feel the tissue fusing back together in some places, straining through the fear for her brother's life as she reattached them to one another.

It took more effort than she thought it would but even with Kiegan struggling and moaning despite his unconscious state, Jamie was able to connect the lining of his stomach back together, the main location of the wound. Jamie fell back onto her back exhausted, a lightheaded sensation almost driving her to unconsciousness. But even though it wasn't perfect, even though she hadn't cure everything. Kiegan was safe. Despite all of the battle going on around them, Jamie could only feel relief. A smile pressing through the dried tears as she stared up into the sky.

"We're okay, Master Jedi. I got him." The words pressed out through long, drawn out breaths as she addressed Samara. "Please, go help the others."

The siblings were safe for now, but the others were in danger. Kyra was in danger. And Master Galloway was needed by them far more than she was by the Lysles.

FLASH BANG!
Caedyn knew exactly what that meant, and had seen them put into use in the past, yet that didn't stop his immediate response to tear his gaze away from the others and to foolishly turn in want to ensure that his Padawan wasn't left vulnerable, incidentally staring directly in line with Kyra Perl Kyra Perl and the thrown, fortunately non-fatal, grenade...

"Argh, Shi-" he exclaimed angrily at himself before his sense of hearing went completely deaf, his vision whited out with excruciating pain; It felt as if his retina's had just been set on fire. Any previous thoughts had been obliterated along with his sight in that moment, and the Jedi Knight had dropped to his knees with his hands covering his eyes unable to tell whether he had them open or closed, it was as though they had gone numb and in some feeble attempt to be rid of the trauma, he tried to rub at them to no avail.

Focus.

Caedyn's brows furrowed, the Force was with him still, even if all his other senses were shot. Reaching out, he could feel his Padawan nearby, distressed and having been hit by the Flashbang as well. This did him no justice in calming his nerves yet he had to move, least he be shot in the back like a mindless bantha being put out to pasture.

Feeling around for the hilt of his Lightsaber, Caedyn retrieved the weapon and quickly returned it to his belt, fortunate that the blade had deactivated having left his grasp. He then moved to crawl forward towards his Padawan, reaching out to take her by the shoulder. "It's me, we need to move!" he basically growled, wishing he could ring the neck of whomever was responsible for blinding them both this way.

Despite his instruction, Caedyn was at a loss for direction. He had sensed his Padawan and yet the positions of those around them were distorted, blurred and difficult to define whilst his head hammered with pain.
