Unleashing the Fury

The first remote fired again and Ashra’syle’nuruodo spun to catch it on her blade again as she started to sense more remotes activating around her. Her master was clearly trying to make her pay for her overconfidence but as they were firing on different timings it was relative ease for the Chiss woman to sidestep anything she couldn’t catch on her blade she was starting to break a sweat but her movements were quick and fluid, not a single shot had even come close yet.

Sensing yet more remotes in the mix Asylen pushed herself harder the intervals of the shots were getting more difficult to track and avoid the two new remotes made it so some of the shots started to come at the same time. If this pace continued eventually one of the shots would get her, she needed to remove some of the challenge as would be the case if this were actual combat. She reached out with the force using her free hand swatting one of the remotes away with enough force to send it tumbling into the wall of the temples outer wall. She spun again slashing another remote that got too close to her as she dodged rolling away from a shot of the third remote though this one finally grazed her.

Grunting loudly to herself as she rolled up over the burn from the remote Asylen rose again and reflected a pair of bolts towards [member="Crystal"] to provoke her as if trying to draw a better challenge. “Are we done playing games? When does the challenge start?”

Crystal was impressed that she hadn't been hit by a bolt yet, however, she wasn't deflecting the shots as was the point of the exercise. She reiterated her goals.

"Deflect the shots back to their point of origin."

The Sith Princess reactivated the two remotes that she'd deactivated, with three second intervals. That made for seven remotes firing at different times and frequencies. A challenge she says...Let's see how she does now... Crystal smiled.

As the two remotes came back online things started to overwhelm Asylen’s defenses the occasional shot was getting past the blade close to her body and a few even landed grazing shots on her limbs. She grimaced in pain but kept moving deliberately as [member="Crystal"] repeated her instructions. The speed of the attacks were just too much to manage and if she wasn’t allowed to use the force or the lightsaber to strike the remotes she would have to get a better angle on them. Drawing on the force she launched herself into the air back away from the remotes slashing the shots they were firing back in their general direction. As she did she used the force to seek out a second training saber from the ground where they had been laid out.

Landing, her sore ankle from the day before failing her slightly and causing her to take a knee for a moment she activated the second training saber and smirked to herself. Ashra’syle’nuruodo swung both blades catching more bolts then before sending most of them back at the remotes, the sheer volume of the shots started to bring remotes down. Three of them in fact, she kept swatting bolts back as she rose backing away from the remotes that were trying to circle around her but she had the advantage now.

Crystal watched her closely as she repositioned, and seemed to reinjure her ankle. Still, she wasn't down yet. And, she grabbed another lightsaber. That was an interesting choice. Crystal never had taken two lightsabers, because she preferred to have two hands on her lightsaber because of her size and stature. But, if Asylen wanted to try with two, that was fine with her.

It seemed to be exactly what she needed. But, she wouldn't get off so easily. Crystal reactivated the remotes just as quickly as deflected shots deactivated them. A challenge, she said. Now that the Chiss had the hang of the exercise, it was simply a matter of stamina and how long Asylen could keep it up.

As the quickly as the remotes went down they were reactivated, the whole exercise was exhausting but she drew on the force, filtering her anger through slowly letting it drip through feeding her power but not letting it consume her. In moments like this she found a surprising amount of inner peace and control. Ashra’syle’nuruodo was hers to command as she broke into a sweat, her motions fluid and fast. The remotes were relentless but she dodged what she couldn’t return to the remotes it was as if she had been doing this for years, her form could use some work but what she was doing was effective for now.

This as with all things couldn’t last forever however, she was running out of energy and she had learned the lesson not to burn herself out completely on one task. “I yield, I will need more practise before I can continue at this pace for any longer.” Asylen called to [member="Crystal"] as she continued to defend against the incoming fire from the remotes trying to back away from them and keep them all in front of her as her power dwindled. She had received a few burns here and there on her body but nothing compared to the number one would expect to see on a first time user of this type of weapon.

Crystal waved her hand and turned off the remotes as her apprentice called out. "I am pleased that I do not have to carry you inside today and that you have learned your limit."

She called the remotes to her hand and put them into her bag. "I think with a little more practice you will be ready to accompany me on missions."

It was more than likely that they'd go on a mission within a couple of days. "Rest for half a day before you resume your training." She offered the bag to her apprentice. "I will monitor your progress and let you know when we're shipping out."

“I think you will find that I am ready to accompany you on missions even without a little more practise, I wasn’t inept before the Gods granted me these powers. I am stronger for it certainly but I was quite capable before you met me.” Asylen stated boldly, she was perhaps too confident in her abilities but she was certainly no slouch when it came to close quarters combat. “I will take the half day as you suggest, may I take the remotes with me? I may wish to use them again.”

Crystal smirked at the Chiss' overconfidence. She would quickly find that she wasn't good at everything, as she believed. But, that would come with time and failure. Those failures she would learn the most from. Their missions would each be different, some with action, and some without. Every one chosen to teach them something however.

"I have no doubt that you are capable. But I don't make a point of throwing my apprentices into the ocean with predators without being sure they can swim, if you get my meaning. Help yourself to the remotes and training sabers. I will be planning the next few lessons while you practice."

She nodded to the Chiss woman, dismissing her to do as she wished, whether it be the rest as she suggested, or otherwise.
