- Unit Name: Uzstafas Guard
- Affiliation: Order of Wonosa, Sith Order
- Classification: Security Forces, Military Police
- Description: Wielding a crimson shield gauntlet and clad in dark armor, the guards bearing the sigil of Wonosa on their arms are rarely seen outside of the handful of Wonosan territories scattered across the Outer Rim and Wild Space. The Uzstafas are as regimented and organized as any other of the cult's forces when on duty but due to their constant interaction with the local populace they are notably more relatable. Whereas the armies of Wonosa are bound together by a zealous ideology and stalwart disposition, the guards are united by community first and foremost and thus are very sympathetic and protective of those within their jurisdiction.
- Unit Size: Medium
- Unit Availability: Common
- Unit Experience: Trained
- Equipment:
- Combat Function: Being security and garrison forces first and foremost, the Uzstafas largely coordinate their efforts into defensive strategies. Primarily they concentrate the bulk of their forces within a handful of strongpoints while making use of their fast vehicles and squads to patrol and secure wider areas. Rapid response and swift deployment are at the forefront of their reactive strategy but when on the offensive they make use of carefully planned operations lead by a handful of more experienced squads in surgical strikes. It is rare for any more than a handful of Uzstafas to be seen at once as a few squads is typically enough to handle most issues, but when their larger force is concentrated they make for a terrifyingly efficient force.
- Force Abilities (Force User Units Only): N/A
- Secure Your Neighbor: The Uzstafas are security forces first and foremost in the most literal meaning of the word, any building or district that they are tasked with protecting. Additionally they are known to form bonds with the populations that they oversee and enforce laws upon, making them seen not only as reliable protectors but also giving them extra incentive to fight when their jurisdiction is threatened.
- Detain the Rot: Between their equipment and vehicles the guard are fully equipped and prepared to make short work of most threats within their areas of protection. They can capture or eliminate almost any criminal or paramilitary group that threatens them without much issue.
- Law Enforcement: While the Uzstafas can garrison and patrol more militarized areas just fine, their training is specifically centered around law enforcement and security duties. To this end while they can somewhat defend effectively essentially any other combat scenario is entirely unadvisable for them to partake in. Any combat against a proper military force is undoubtedly going to be heavily favored towards the proper soldiers and not the guard.
- Local Knowledge: A huge part of guard's duties and strategies hinge on being able to accurately and reliably operate in familiar terrain and areas. While this is done easily enough in most of their jurisdictions, in newer territories where the guard hasn't been fully established for long their effectiveness and capabilities will be greatly reduced until they can get a proper lay of the land.
As the scant territories and holdings of the Order of Wonosa became more populated over time, the need for security and law enforcement became all the more apparent. Initially these duties were carried out by the Auxiliary Legion but as small outposts grew into settlements and existing settlements were incorporated the more militarized nature of the Auxiliary forces became both unnecessary and undesirable. The first solution to this issue was to establish dedicated garrison formations which were given less equipment and training, allowing locals to join in the Auxiliary forces without any apprehension they may have about going off to wage war in Wonosa's name being relevant.
When the Auxiliary Legion kept swelling due to these dedicated garrisons growing the need for a separate command structure and outfitting became too obvious to ignore or placate any longer. The Uzstafas, the Sith word for security, Guard was formed from these garrisons and from some veteran Auxiliary formations but it would be some time before they were given their own uniforms and a proper assortment of vehicles to make use of. The loyal Inquisition Troopers that defected into Wonosan service after the Inquisition was incorporated into the Tsis'Kaar would be crucial in fleshing out the Uzstafas tactics and making them proper law enforcers.
