Intent: To create the first in a line of cybernetics
Development Thread: As needed
Manufacturer: LOOM
Model: AO Model
Affiliation: LOOM, Ultimatum
Modularity: Various types of augments for different uses as people require.
Production: Mass Produced
Material: Reinforced Durasteel, cybernetic components.
Classification: Multipurpose
Weight: 50 kg
Quality: 5
Special Features:
Increases strength, speed, and reflexes
Resistant to light blasters, most ballistics, and weak ionic weapons
Strengths:
Built for battlefield
Reflex reaction time about an eighth better than organic limbs
Can survive light blaster fire without losing integrity
Weaknesses:
Damaged units require more time to repair due to the strength being compromised
Overuse can quickly deplete the internal battery, leaving the user without any way of defending themselves depending on how many augments they have received
Description: A further expansion on the Menders, the V-1 is a more definite step towards hybridization. The intentional amputation of any number of limbs to be replaced by an upgraded mechanical approximation. These new versions differ from the Menders in that these are intended for combat, built for the riggers and stresses that are usually associated with such. Greater strength, somewhat blaster-proof, and more responsive instruments.
The intent behind the specific design is for organics to take advantage of the capabilities, while still being able to integrate into society without too much difficulty. The upgraded nervous system integration allows for the travel of signals through the mechanical parts to be increased, thus allowing the emergency response to react faster than standard organics, excluding Force enhanced individuals. The core of the organic being upgraded is left intact, requiring the owner of the augments to where armor over the mechanisms or have specially made armor for just their core body and head.
Replacement legs tend to allow faster and longer running, higher jumping, and stronger kicking. While arms give greater climbing, carrying, and hand to hand combat capacity. At the same time both of these upgrades also remove the sensation of pain from the user and food requirements for maintain muscle mass in those areas that were removed. The internal batteries are built to last a total of three months constant standard usage in between recharges. Such actions as sprinting for extended periods, continuously jumping, lifting especially heavy objects, or working in a high humidity climate can all increase power usage, by varying degrees. The cybernetics are slightly resistant to ion weapons, being completely safe from hand held weapons and vulnerable to larger versions. In the case that any part of the cybernetic enhancement is damaged, the unit will need repair or replacement, while damaged it is less capable due to the design heavily relying on the efficiency of the system to avoid becoming overly obvious.
