- Strikecraft Carrier: Half of the Vectivus is split down the middle and filled with flight decks and launch bays, the interior space large enough to carry a total of eight starfighter squadrons alongside non-combat craft and other transports.
- Light Weaponry: The Vectivus is only equipped with enough weaponry to deter starfighter attacks, but not enough to go toe-to-toe with more dedicated warships. Purely a support vessel, the Vectivus is at its strongest when surrounded by other more powerful ships.
As the Sith Empire advanced its technical knowledge and began to implement more refined ship designs following the Siege of Commenor, one of the larger battlecruisers, the Harbinger-class Carrier Battlecruiser, was decommissioned in favor of a more Thrawnian approach to naval engagement.
To replace the loss of such a massive strikecraft carrier, the Sith designed the Vectivus-class Carrier Cruiser. While almost five times smaller and carrying three times as few strikecraft, the Vectivus was far more versatile in a greater fleet composition and could be grouped together in greater numbers with less impact on local resources.
The Vectivus also retained the Harbinger's forward hangar design, with a gap in the central hull housing several large flight decks perfect for launching a massive of fighters in a relatively short amount of time.
