SPECIES: Ven'Rain's technical species is unknown. Her mother... got around a lot, if you know what I mean. Ven's father is unknown, but her mother was half Hapan and half human. It is also believed, based off some of Ven's features, that her father was part Shorak. Sea'Rain, Ven's mother, believes she has narrowed down Ven's potential fathers down to five men. But only three are still alive, and one has disappeared from the galaxy, somewhere into the depths of the unknown regions.
AGE: 28

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
APPEARANCE:
-Race/Species: Nothing seems to be 'odd' about Ven'Rain. Her mixed species doesn't show- much. Being at least one fourth Hapan, she is naturally 'more beautiful' then the average female human or near-human. Not that she cares about that. In fact, most of her original appearance has been modified/changed, whether because of want or need. Also, most likely due to a partial Shorak heritage, Ven is naturally slightly more muscular then the average person of mainly human descent.
-Hair: Ven's hair is likely her favorite part of herself. I mean come on, have you seen it? There's nothing not epic about it. For those needing a better description then 'epic', keep reading. When let settle by itself, free of any products or gel, Ven's hair falls quietly to the sides of her head. In this state it reaches, at the farthest, to the bottom of her ears. However, her dark brown locks are usually sculpted upwards, creating a mohawk of sorts. The hawk only travels in a two inch wide line down the center of her scalp. Along the hawk's sides, Ven's hair is shaved, usually into intricate designs. And guess what makes those designs even cooler?!? The fact that Ven has dyed streaks of red into her hair! So don't be shocked when you see stripes in her mohawk or an Imperial insignia marked red in the shaved area.
-Eyes: Don't stare to long. Don't get lost in that abyss. It'll mess with your mind. Those crazy mesmerizing eyes. They'll lure you in. Make you believe they know everything you know- and more. So don't look into those eyes. Those horrible, yellow eyes laced with green and ribbons of blue. Don't look close enough to see their optical illusion of spinning, gear-like orbs. Never get close enough, or stare long enough, to witness the dark rings, a chaotic black, around the iris. It will change you. Once you have fully fallen into that abyss, one cannot return. (Okay, so basically Ven'Rain has really creepy, yellowish green eyes. They have black rings around the iris, which only makes the center stand out more. There's nothing magical about Ven's eyes. But they just have that look to them. That all-knowing, creepy, wise, and hurt look to them. It's really hard to describe properly. But this sort of sums it up: Most people who have stared into Ven's eyes agree on one thing: It's terrifying to witness, and it will not be soon forgotten. Rumor has it that some are even driven insane by staring into her eyes for to long. But perhaps one of her jobs just required her to knock them out, and they suffered some brain damage. Or whatever. But that doesn't change the fact she has creepy eyes that freak most normal people out.)
-Height: Contributed to her unknown father, Ven grew to be much taller than expected. Sea'Rain, Ven's mother, is only 5ft 5in. That's almost a foot shorter then Ven herself. It's still in question whether Ven's height is result of her mixed blood, or if her dad was just really, really tall and gave Ven those genes. Either way, she still manages to stand and impressive, and sometimes intimidating, 76 inches (6ft 4 in).
-Facial Structure/Features: The most noticeable feature that 'graces' Ven'Rain's face is the scars. Under her left eye a nasty gash once laid. Now a dark scar takes its place. Usually this is one scar Ven will try to hide, often with light makeup or war paint. Along with this, but on the right side of her face, are the remnants of multiple explosions. Undeniably, Ven was never one to avoid danger. After 28 years, 14 of which were spent as a merc and soldier, she's been through quite a lot. Scratches and tears from fragments left raised scars on most of Ven's face. Over time many faded, others removed by cosmetic surgery. But some still remain, Ven's way of telling the tale of one side of her. Other than her scars, there's nothing to special about Ven's face and head. She has smooth features, a semi-pointed chin, and a clear complexion. Well, and a few modifications she got for 'fun'.... As in she thought it would be fun to get pointed ears. So she did. As Ven often wears a helmet, they aren't noticed very much. But with no hair to cover them, they stand out substantially when she's unmasked. This modification goes well with her piercings. Ven has three lobe studs on both ears, along with two cartilage rings just below the back of the pointed tip on both ears. Yeah, Ven doesn't mind standing out. But she does certainly hate being normal. Which she obviously isn't anymore. Not that she ever was... MOVING ON>>> Ven hasn't only pierced her ears. Besides those previously mentioned, Ven had her right eyebrow, the left side of her lower lip, and her left nostril pierced. But don't worry, those are the only piercings she has. None in any awkward places. Even Ven'Rain finds those weird...
-Body Structure: Nothing to special here, either. Other then Ven's previously mentioned height, she's your average Joe.... Jess? And she's really only average appearance wise... well, part of her appearance at least. OKAY, never mind the over-used phrase. I'll just go with: Ven's pretty average when it comes to body type. She has long legs, normal for a Sekairo. Due to exercise and the physical exertion her job takes, Ven has managed to build up quite some muscle. Though it's not incredibly visible. On closer inspection, one might notice that Ven is actually pretty thin around her stomach/waist area. This is likely because of her diet- or lack of one. Ven doesn't usually eat much, and this contributes to her thin frame and some occasional lack of energy. One more... notable feature in her structure is her 'moderate' bust. A little more than average. Just not that much more than average.
-Modifications/Tattoos: Other then her piercings (and pointy ears) Ven'Rain doesn't have any visible modifications. Unless you count tattoos as modifications. Which Ven doesn't. Inside, far from view, however, Ven has multiple implants. Some are for increased strength, endurance, or speed. Others for replacements for previous injuries. Those for the latter include a mechanical lung and an attachment onto Ven's heart. If either were to fail... well, the brave merc would likely die within a few days. But let's move on to a brighter subject. TATTOO TIME! Ven has a tattoo of the Imperial insignia on her back, surrounded by Aurebesh lettering that says "Forever reign eternal, glory to the one, the only, the Empire." Yeah, she really likes the Empire. It's a long story. Lower down on her back Ven has a tribal tattoo that wraps around her back, reaching across and ending on her front. Ven also has a tattoo of a kyrat dragon on her right forearm. On the front of her right shoulder, Ven sports a tattoo of a skull wearing a gas mask. Lastly, and certainly least, is a tattoo Ven got while intoxicated. Or drugged. She doesn't know. All the info she has on the tat is that it's a name: Wraith Trallion. Ven has tried multiple times to search for the man/woman now inked on her thigh. Every time no results came up. Perhaps one day she will figure out who the person is.
-Clothing: Ven has worn a wide variety of outfits over the years. Different situations require different equipment, and in some cases apparel, after all. Most of the time Ven's on duty, doing some sort of work for someone. Depending on the employer, Ven's armor will change. But for the majority of the time, Ven wears simple but reliable protection. A plated chest guard, thin and flexible gloves, thick layered leg plates, reinforced boots, and a Old Republic style Republic trooper helmet (modified version. Custom built for Ven off old holovids she found.). When Ven is off duty, she'll wear sophisticated, yet semi-eclectic, clothes. Usually that will be tight fitting leg wear, an undershirt, a thin over shirt, a trench coat or pilot's jacket, and combat boots. Ven seems to favor the colors black and red, as most of her outfits are based off those clothes.
PERSONALITY:
-Temperment: Ven'Rain has never been a patient person. Or a relaxed one. This is revealed partially by her nasty temperament. Usually Ven is calm. But if she's angered, which is easy if you know what buttons to push, she'll fly off in a rage. Ven will give in to her deeper emotions, becoming more violent, giving into her hatred and entering a state of disregard. The values she usually holds dear will be abandoned. Things will get shakier around her. Tension will be thick in the air, and it's unlikely no one will be injured once Ven is in this state. Luckily for others there is an easy way to calm Ven'Rain down. Unfortunately, almost no one knows how to calm her.
-Protective Nature: Ven'Rain has a tough exterior, and sometimes it seems impossible to get on her good side. But once some one has, they're guaranteed to be 'rewarded' in a way. For Ven has a tendency to get overprotective of those she cares about. She's been known to kill people who were otherwise innocent for even slightly threatening the life of a loved one. This is a major flaw in Ven's personality, as it clouds her judgement most of the time, as does the reason she now acts this way...
-Tough Exterior Versus A Big Softie: Though Ven'Rain may be all business and rage on the outside, she's actually very caring on the inside. Around those Ven considers friends, the facade drops and she'll seem to change personalities entirely. In a moment she'll go from quiet, blunt, and intimidating to loving, talkative, and bubbly. Some think this is due to her mistrust of people, not wanting to risk getting close to others. Those she lowers her walls to have already proven their loyalty in some way, letting Ven's subconscious know they can be trusted.
-Loyal to the Bitter End: Earn this dashing rouge's trust, get close to her, and you will never find someone more loyal. Ven would do anything for her loved ones. Even go against her moral code, or risk losing her honor and reputation. Travel the universe to rescue someone, or simply kill a former ally or client. But don't misuse this gained loyalty... Why? Because Ven is unforgiving to a far greater state then she is loyal.
-Unforgiving: "Never forgive. Never forget. Once it's done, it can never be undone." Any who get close to Ven then betray her will pay deeply. They will soon feel her wrath. And many times, she will go to the ends of the galaxy to chase that person down. What happens when she finds them? Well, let's just say they'll regret ever being born... But you don't have to be close to her to inure this fury. Simply betray her, and she will never forgive you. "Never forgive. Never forget. Once it's done, it can never be undone."
-Tired: No one can deny that Ven'Rain has been through a lot. This shows often, digging deep into her psychological issues. It's safe to say that Ven suffers from Post Trauma Stress Disorder, or whatever the Star Wars equivalent is. One way this shows is her sempiternal state of unrest. Unable to get a good night of sleep, always sighing and yawning. Ven is tired in both ways. She is restless, lacking energy. And she is tired of hurting, tired of feeling (emotional) pain. She'll to whatever it takes to shield herself from further harm, even cutting off potential friends. However, despite her lack of sleep, she won't refuse to take a job. Credits, and later food, clothes, and fuel, come first.
-Forever Angry: No matter what, Ven'Rain remains angry. She kills, she fights, she destroys her enemies. But nothing brings her closure. Still she hungers, she urges for revenge. Eternally her heart rages. Never will the anger end... Almost like a curse... Ven'Rain doesn't know why she can't stop it. All she knows is that it strikes at random, fueling her actions more than anything else. This emotion turns her into a thoughtless murder machine. Morals no more.
-Sadistic: This is one of Ven's... darker traits. Though it doesn't always show, it's still there. And when it does appear, it can't be ignored. Ven enjoys pain. But she enjoys dishing it out even more. No one's quite sure why she turned out that way. And most psychologists don't want to spend enough time with her to figure it out. This part of her is pretty simple though. If she has enough time, she's more likely to torture her enemies then give them a swift death. Just another reason to stay on her good side...
-Conflicted: Despite being seemingly full-out 'evil', Ven is actually quite conflicted on the inside. Memories from her childhood urge her to be kind, to do whatever she can to help others. But later on... Horrible flashbacks induce fits of rage and violence, provoking her into mindless, pointless destruction. If she lived in our time and age, she would be diagnosed with a serious case of Bi-polar disorder. However, most people don't spend enough time with her to notice this.
-Always Questioning: One of Ven'Rain's better, happier traits is her great thirst for knowledge. Though recent happenings do partially intrigue her, her main love is for ancient matters. Currently she's deep into discovering as much as she can about the planet of Taris, and it's horrible 'curse'. In the past she's gone over hundreds of topics, learning as much as she can. This boosted her vocabulary some, and she's practically a walking version of Star Wars' version of Google.
-Hatred of Republic: Ven's endless hate for the Republic is hard to explain. Somewhere in her history (elaborated on below) something horrible happened. The Republic was to blame. This ticked Ven off. Ever since, she's refused to help the Republic in any way or form. Nowadays she's full-out for the Empire- but only because they oppose the Republic. Most of the Empire's ideals aren't shared by Ven, but she'd take them over the Republic any day. Ven's hatred of the Republic affects the jobs she takes, who she talks to, and who she decides to kill and who gets spared.
-Habits: Ven has a lot of habits. To name a few: Can't keep her hands still, has to be moving them in some way, often drums fingers against things or twiddles them unnecessarily. Tends to forget things (not including numbers, she's great at remembering those), writes things down on random objects. Humming randomly. Talking to herself. Replaces swear words with random phrases or terms (ex: HOLY FLIPPING SHAB NABBLES). Constantly makes rude remarks/comebacks in her head, no matter who she's talking to. Likes to light things on fire. Can't stay in the same place/position for longer than a few minutes (unless sleeping). Tends to furrow her eyebrows, no matter her mood.
STRENGTHS:
-Physical Strength: Both due to exercise and combat training, Ven has gained an advantage over other humans and near-humans. Ven is quite strong, some would say inhumanly strong. Which makes sense, when you think about her mixed blood.
-Vast Knowledge: Having spent most of her free time searching up interesting topics, Ven has gained much intelligence. From a young age she showed deep thinking and quick problem-solving. This combined with her knowledge allows to her to figure out solutions easier than others. It also allows her to answer questions quicker, more likely to know the answer already.
-Martial Arts Training: Ven'Rain has been trained in multiple martial arts. These mainly assist her in hand to hand combat, but some also involve use of weapons (mainly melee). Ven mainly was taught in the ways of the Echani, having been fascinated with them from a young age.
-Pilot Skills: For as long as she can remember, Ven has been taught to fly a starship. From childhood lessons from her mother, and later clients wanted her to be more efficient. Over the years she's learned all the tips and tricks, and has become quite skilled as a pilot. Though Ven has never been through any traditional pilot training, she still shows incredible aptitude at it. Some say she was born to fly. Ven prefers fighting either way.
-Sniper Training: After serving with the Republic military for two years (it's a long story. Read the history to understand), Ven was transferred to Specs Ops. There she was trained even in sharpshooting, to help round out her skills. It turned out Ven was half bad at it. In fact, she considered for joining the Deadeyes. Alas, she never got that opportunity. She was betrayed before then, and left Republic space. But she carried the skills she learned during her stint as a sniper for the rest of her days.
-Courage: One trait about Ven that never falters is her courage. Even in the darkest of moments, the most terrifying of scenarios, Ven appears to be fearless. This is untrue. Ven is not fearless, but that's not what courage is. Courage is understanding, and acting on the fact, that some things are more important than fear. Ven understands that.
-Always Watching: Truly Ven'Rain is a restless one. Even in her own home she does not relax. Cameras are installed in her ship, in her multiple apartments, and any room she stays in for more than two days. She doesn't trust herself, or anyone else. This paranoia may prove to also be a weakness, but for now it keeps her safer in an unsafe galaxy.
WEAKNESSES:
-Quenchless Rage: Ven's rage can never be satisfied. A sith may find this valuable, but not for a merc like Ven. When you're constantly thirsting for revenge, things can go wrong. Due to her anger, Ven has lost several jobs and positions. Without being able to control her emotions, she's disobeyed direct orders, just to try and get closure. Nothing has worked yet.
-Stands Out: Seriously, just try hiding a six foot four inch tall girl with a mohawk in a crowd. I dare you. Just try. It's not going to work very well. Especially when she stops every ten seconds to yell at someone who bumped into her. So if Ven gets in trouble and needs to hide, it's not going to be easy.
-Lack of Sleep: Usually Ven'Rain can get through the days. But eventually her lack of sleep catches up with her. It reduces her energy levels, and she's more likely to just pass out randomly. Not to mention the huge bags under her eyes. Those things are hard to cover up, even with the best makeup. Not that that really matters... Well, it does to Ven. Partially, at least.
-Loner Nature: Not one for social situations, Ven'Rain tends to work alone if possible. This may help some, but in other situations... Well, most times it's better to have some one to back you up. But Ven is unable to create a connection with others by herself. If she's going to be 'friends' with someone, they have to work towards that goal. And not many people are that patient. With that being said, it's safe to say that Ven's mostly alone in the universe.
-Shoot First, Ask Questions Later: Unfortunately for others, Ven has a 'shoot first, ask questions later' approach to life. Unless she was specifically told not to kill someone, she'll likely do that on a mission/job. In rare scenarios, this is good. But lots of the time, innocent people get seriously injured or killed. Not that Ven cares much. In her mind, no one is worth saving in the end. Some, a rare few, just deserve to live a little longer.
-Don't Trust Anyone: Ven's been betrayed. More than once. Or even twice. Let's just go with a lot of times. I think you know where this is going. Ven doesn't trust people, even those close to her. Yes, there are some people she'll lower her guard around- but only ever so slightly. She's still always ready to pull out a vibroblade or a blaster and jump into action. This is a weakness because like her loner nature, it pushes away potential allies. Not to forget it ticks some people off.
-Stubborn: By golly this girl is more stubborn then a nerf that just does not want to be herded (don't question that statement. I have a load more if you need a better metaphor like thing). Ven'Rain is also more stubborn that a half-blind, half-deaf rancor with a thorn in its foot that you are attempting to get to move. Okay, I'm giving up on metaphor like thingamajigs.
>=[
Back to Ven'Rain being stubborn: She's really, really stubborn. And it makes things harder for her then it does for me (for me as in me attempting to think of metaphor thingamajigs). It's a weakness because... it just is. My apologies, I'm just done with describing her stubbornness.
SIKE! Here's a better way of saying things: Due to the fact that it's not easy to change Ven'Rain's opinion on something, she sometimes gets locked on an idea. Like if some one betrays her one time, she automatically assumes they can't be trusted. Along with this it makes it harder for her to take in other peoples' perspectives, staying in her own mindset.
Wow, that really wasn't that hard to describe... Stupid metaphor like thingamajigs took up two paragraphs >=1
HISTORY:
-Early Childhood: Born on the Starship Damry, her mother's vessel, Ven was a child of the stars. Raised amongst the planets and what gave them light. Traveling from place to place, living in a vast sea of suns. This was her home. An endless path, an endless journey. Nothing could compare to her childhood. Full of happiness, of joy, of knowledge. Forever these moments would spark a certain brightness in Ven. Something that would never fully be vanquished. It was a glorious start to her legacy, and a startling foreshadow to the end.
Sea'Rain was Ven's mother. A wealthy pilot and diplomat. But she wasn't always that way. In fact, she used to be an exotic dancer. Before that, a slave. But Sea'Rain's legacy is another story. Another chapter, in another book. What's is important is how her lifestyle affected Ven. Which is quite a lot. Sea never stopped traveling, she loved adventure. And along her adventures, she met a lot of people. One of those was Ven's father.
But no one knows who Ven's real father is/was, or even if he's still alive. Some have ideas, of course. In the past men have come back to Sea, claiming to have fathered her child. Tests were done each time. None of the men had DNA anywhere close to Ven's. Species didn't match. Ven is considered fatherless, a curse amongst the Sekairos.
But Ven'Rain is not a full Sekairo. Sea'Rain was exiled from the family, disowned and forgotten, for crimes lost in time. So the curse of disorder cannot follow her. Forever, however, she will be left in wonder. Who created her? Who would she have the pleasure of calling father?... Questions unanswered.
With no answer to the mystery of her heritage, Ven moved on.
As a child Ven displayed such curiosity... Sea'Rain became concerned, believing it would one day get her daughter in trouble. So Sea'Rain kept Ven contained on the ship. It wasn't until Ven became extremely ill at age six that she was allowed to enter a city. Due an unforeseen disease, Ven's heart was failing. Without medical treatment, she wouldn't see age seven.
A small hospital on Nar Shaddaa was not where Sea had planned on Ven being treated. But it was close. Sea had no idea how long Ven had, she needed to move fast. Nar Shaddaa was the closest planet to their location. Ven was starting to shut down, breathing getting off, shorter, faster. Heartbeat irregular. Sea'Rain was just so scared. What if she lost her only daughter? The only thing left in the galaxy she truly loved...
A frightened mother rushed her daughter to the planet's surface. The once called smuggler's moon busy, but not this sector. Just a medical district, filled with pharmacies and hospitals. It was a small area. The only spot to land was the hospital parking lot, currently empty. The Starship Damry was small, small enough to fit easily into the lot. It took up almost half the space, but it was enough.
Moments later the ship's entrance flung open, the ramp extending at an alarming rate. Sea'Rain rused down the platform, heading into the hospital's emergency department. In her arms Ven laid, eyes slowing fluttering closed. "NO! No, Ven, don't die on me... Don't leave me... not yet... I love you... I need you..."
A nurse spotted the duo's approach and alerted a nearby doctor. The twilek rushed out, her blue scrubs rustling in the wind. Coming to meet Sea'Rain she took Ven from her arms, knowing the child was in trouble. Behind her the doc rushed out, his eyes widening at the sight. It was obvious it didn't think Ven would make it.
"You have to try! She's my daughter! You have to try and save her!"
"I'm sorry ma'am, it's not likely she'll survive. The tech we need to save her is in another hospital, miles away."
"Then get it here! I don't care what it costs! Just help her, please..."
It took some persuading, but the doctor ordered the necessary equipment to heal Ven. While it was in transit the nurse desperately tried to get Ven's heart to pump blood properly. With little success, the worry grew. Would Ven survive? Could anything more go wrong?... So much weight on a little girl. Not even a teen yet.
Somehow the tech arrived quicker then expected. It was rushed in, at the same time Ven was transfered to the OR. She was strapped down to the table and put to sleep. The doctors got straight to work. This was the most complicated precedure the hospital had ever attempted. No one there was used to working something that serious. After all, the district was practically abandoned.
Six hours later, the doctors left the OR. Ven was alive, but still recovering. She was moved to the ICU and monitored closely. It took a few weeks, but she got better. The implant now assisting her heart saved her life, and would several more times in the future. Finally Sea'Rain could rest. Her daughter would live.
The drama stopped there. Everything else was normal for awhile. Ven started doing online schooling, and was finally allowed to go with her mother to visit the surfaces of planets. After Ven's ordeal, Sea figured it was best to let the girl enjoy as much as she could now- as things would only get harder.
-Teenage Years: Ah, the teenage years. A time for exploration, self-discovery, and first loves. Well, that's what's it's supposed to be, right? Not for all, not for all... The Starship Damry was trapped on Ord Mantell while a civil war broke out, ravaging the world again. The war ended within a year, but not without permanently changing Ven's life.
Age fourteen marked the end of the conflict. Ven and her mother were left with barely any money left. Just a few thousand credits, trapped on a war-torn world. Ven was forced to get a job. But the only work available was either become a merc or join the army. Sea'Rain refused to let Ven take either opening. Instead she resumed work as a dancer, earning just enough credits for the duo to scrape by and save a couple dozen each month.
Hating not being able to do anything, Ven secretly searched for work. At first she took odd jobs, usually delivering parcels or carrying heavy things for older folk. During this time she started running errands for the local army base. She was introduced to a man, Captain Vresrin, ex Republic soldier. Vresrin saw potential in Ven, and taught her how to shoot a blaster.
It wasn't long before Ven fell in love with shooting and sport hunting. With saved up credits she bought her first blaster and named it 'torchy'. Using torchy she would hunt, reducing the cost her family paid for food. By then they almost had enough money to get off the blasted planet.
But something horrible happened. A local gang figured they would go and take over the army base. Lots of ammo and weapons, right? Makes logical sense. But they failed. In the process, however, they killed Vresrin. This would fuel Ven's rage and lead to her killing her first sentient being.
A funeral was held for Vresrin, but Ven was nowhere to be found. Miles from the base, she stood above the smoking corpse of the gang's leader. Her eyes burned with a fury never before felt. The rage grew, becoming a monstrous emotion, tearing at Ven's heart. It transformed her. No longer was she innocent. A killer had taken her place.
That day the whole gang died. Every remaining member. Like they say, an eye for an eye, a life for a life.
But Ven wasn't done. Two days after her rampage in gang territory, she went back to the garrison. Enlisting herself in the Mantellian Armed Forces. For a few weeks she worked as a guard for the settlement. Sea'Rain had finally come to terms with letting her daughter work, but she still worried.
During Ven's sixteenth standard year of living, another civil war broke out. With the last of her credits, she paid for her mother to get off planet with the Starship Damry. Sea'Rain left her daughter behind with tears streaming down her cheeks... Meanwhile Venny took to the streets, blasting away at her enemies. Freedom for one at last, and eternal trapping for another. For the war would seal Ven's fate.
Never again would Ven see her mother face to face. Destiny would refuse to let that happen. So Ven stayed on Ord Mantell. Fighting the endless wars. Killing over and over again. The body count when up and up. Nightmares plagued her dreams and waking thoughts. Faces of those she had killed screaming at her, begging her to stop. Family of her victims glaring at her as she walked through ruins of cities. So much to handle...
Ven knew she had to get off Ord Mantell. She would do anything to free herself from that accursed planet. So she did the only logical choice open for her. Activating the garrison's holo-communicator. Who did she call? The Republic. Well, not exactly. She contacted the military operations base. Within a few weeks she was transferred out from Ord Mantell to an official Republic base. By now she was sixteen years old.
-Military Time: Being a low-level officer, Ven was sent off to the outer rim, guarding a space station from pirates. It felt like a waste of time to her, but she secretly thought it was a nice escape. After a few months she was moved to a post closer to Coruscant. Something was off there. Not being closely attuned to the force, she wasn't able to sense what was happening.
She left the post not long after, transfering to Spec Ops. She became a sniper, taking out targets from far away. During this time she was trained more in weapons and piloting. It was a good time. Ven had a release for her anger. Two weeks into her stint, she contacted her mother. The two chatted over holo for awhile, discussing Ven's future.
Next Ven spent six months in various combat zones, proving her skills even more. As a reward, she was moved back to her previous post near Coruscant.
Staying at that post would nearly cost Ven her life, and would lead to her toughest fight to date.
It was a simple job. Just living in a good sized garrison and keeping gangs out of the sector. Occasionally pushing back an attempted pirate raid or two. If only it stayed that way. How was anyone supposed to know what was to come? It was impossible for anyone to guess what happened next.
The base was attacked. But not by the usual lame pirates or whatever. Something had stirred within the planet. Who knows what... But something emerged. A beast like man. Raging forward, flinging soldiers about left and right. Officially, the creature as "Project X". It was supposed to be shut down. Locked away, it remained underground for years. Somehow it survived. And managed to escape.
Project X destroyed most of Ven's base that day. She was left, half-dead, under a pile of rubble. Only six others survived. Luckily the beast was killed before it left the base. The price that was paid to do so however, well, it was to high. Something had to collapse.
Ven'Rain's trust in the Republic vanished two months after the attack. SIS agents had arrived on the scene moments after she passed out from blood loss. Rain, along with the other survivors, were rushed to the hospital. Only four (including Ven) made it through the night. Unfortunately, Ven had to get another implant, this one on her lung, to stay alive.
After she recovered, three Republic agents approached her. They told her to stay quiet about the attack. To say it was a freak accident. That there was an explosion. And some of the troops had been 'transferred' before dying at their new posts. Just the suggestion alone angered Ven. But she was told that if she spoke the truth, they'd have to silence her. Permanently.
Furious, Ven didn't keep quiet. She wouldn't let the Republic shrug off it's own mistake. They created Project X. They would take the blame for the havoc it wreaked. Taking a 'vacation', Ven spoke to several reporters and senators. Whoever she could get in contact with. And guess what happened? They all ended up dead. Just a few more 'accidents'.
That's when they came after Ven. She wouldn't go down easy. Each time they sent someone after her, she fought back. And won. Not without suffering some injuries, of course. Eventually she spoke to a higher up and agreed to be silent. It did earn her several years of being watched. And a lifetime of hating the Republic.
-The Dark Years: From age eighteen to twenty, Ven lived in a dark state. Hating, hiding, fearing, and stealing. Living off scraps and shelter food, she did her best to blend in. Get away from the relentless Republic, who still wanted to silence her. It was a tough two years. But a lot changed. Something ticked in Ven's brain, and these two years allowed her to change into her 'final' form.
Ven'Rain became more independent, but less trusting. Stronger, but less careful with that strength. More violent, but less caring to her victims. Short version: She became what she is today. A transformation took place, turning her into a viscous, hateful beast. Getting revenge on the Republic became her only goal.
Doing some research, Ven learned about the Republic's greatest enemy: The Sith Empire. Realizing that they were her only 'family' left, she fled Republic space. Taking a shuttle to Dromund Kaas, Ven started looking for work. Anything was better then working for the Republic.
Little did she know that she had been working for the most corrupt Republic officers before the incident. But would she have even cared if she found out? Probably not... The damage was done.
-Becoming A Merc: After living on Dromund Kaas for a year, Ven finally found work. A man named Skaller approached her. He offered her a job working for a wealthy arms dealer. Ven didn't know, but Skaller was that dealer, and that he was only pretending to be a servant.
Either way, Ven'Rain accepted the offer without a moment's hesitation. Within a few days she was starting work, delivering shipments in a starship, RAVEN'S WING. In time she and Skaller became closer, and she considered him her first real friend. In fact, she considered him a father figure. And that's what he became.
Skaller taught her all she needed to know. About piloting and more about weapons. Ven considers this the best period of time in her life. It seemed like nothing could go wrong. Ven even had a droid buddy aboard Raven's Wing. An assassin model named B7-T8 (one of my other characters). Despite Betty's (droid's nickname) slight attitude, and the fact that he refers to all life-forms as 'meatbags', they got along. Both loved violence. It was like a match made in heaven.
But B7-T8 belonged to Skaller. And Skaller was a wanted man in some regions of space. He knew his time was running up. So Skaller did his best to teach Ven as much as he could before the clock stopped. Time flies when you're having fun though... And boy is shooting things fun.
After receiving several anonymous threats, Skaller left Dromund Kaas, leaving detailed instructions for if he did not return. Attempting to spare Ven from a painful goodbye, he left while she was still on a mission. By the time she returned, he was in a whole other planetary system.
Skaller never returned. Per his instructions, B7-T8 was locked away, never supposed to be touched again. Raven's Claw was given to Ven, who changed it's name to The Starlight Victor. Most of the remaining credits from Skaller's account were transferred to Ven's, along with some weapons. Originally Skaller planned on Ven taking over his company. However, his second in command took over and disregarded his commands. With no legal document stating Ven's inheritance, she lost the struggle for control.
It was time to move on.
Taking The Starlight Victor, Ven fled Dromund Kaas, fearing the power-hungry Zabrak (Skaller's 2nd in command). But now she needed something to do... Skaller's credits wouldn't last forever. And what better thing to do then her favorites? Shooting, killing, flying... And who does a lot of that?
You guessed it: Mercenaries.
-Mercenary Time to Present: "It's been years now. So long since they betrayed me and my brothers and sisters. So long since the death of the man I call my father. Contact with my mother has stopped completely. No news has been received about the fate of B7-T8. Nor has the Republic contacted me further about Project X.
Good riddance to them and their lies. Curse the Republic and everything it stands for. Bunch of blasted lies spilling from the mouths of hypocrites. All hiding behind a bloody facade. I'd love to watch them burn. If only... Maybe one day.
This is Ven'Rain Sekairo, captain of The Starlight Victor reporting for nightly log. It's my twenty-eighth birthday today. No celebrations were held. Instead I did a fun mercenary job, like so many before it. Raided a spice factory. Killed a bunch of fools. It was... enjoyable.
It would be so much better with B7-T8 by my side. He'd charge in, blow the place to bits. Help me torture the last remaining idiot to get the information we needed. Follow me to the man pulling the strings. Watch eagerly as I slit the imbecile's throat... Yelling at him, reminding him of his poor career choice.
Darn, how can I be missing a droid? Need to get my head checked again... Better yet, I'll go hunting. That usually vents some frustration...
Great, off track again...
No special jobs lately. Just a lot of regular merc work. I can't believe I've been doing this for eight blasted years. If only the jobs paid more. Maybe I should just rejoin the army. The Sith Empire's army, of course.
Forever, Reign Eternal, Glory to the one, the only, The Empire!
Captain Ven'Rain Sekairo logging out."
SHIP: The Starlight Victor
Class T7-01 Star-fighter, built by an unknown marketer. Custom created for one of Ven'Rain's old clients. Upon the client's death, he left the Victor (at the time named Raven's Wing) to Rain. It's full capability and modifications are currently unknown to the dashing rouge. So far she has discovered:
Three main guns on the front of the ship, standard issue on most military ships
Two rotating rocket launchers, each capable of moderate damage if aimed properly
Enough crew space for four other people
A storage bay able of holding a small one-person scout speeder and four months of supplies
And moderately effective shielding systems.
Perhaps in the future more will be discovered. But for now, THE STARLIGHT VICTOR remains a mystery.
EQUIPMENT:
-Armor: Standard issue military-grade protection. Nothing to special or fancy. All of Ven'Rain's armor (chestguard, helmet, gauntlets, legplates, boots, and an optional backplate) were either acquired from the black market, custom designed, or taken from her military days. The armor is capable of withstanding common blasterfire to an extent (eventually if one spot is shot at enough, it's gonna break {dur}), some heavy weapon system shots, most common grenades/detonators, and vibroblades to some extent. But no way, ever, would her armor stand up fully to lightsaber attacks. Yes, it would protect her some, but repeated strikes or one strong focused one, and that armor is dead. Luckily for Ven'Rain, she doesn't usually fight Jedi or Sith.
Oh, and a little about that backplate I mentioned: It's a unique design, found during one of Ven's trips to Dromund Kaas. The design was found in an old datapad, clutched in the hands of a skeleton. Ven shudders to think what horrible things happened to that man. Not really, she thinks it would have been fun to watch. BUT MOVING ON >>>>> It's the strongest armor Ven has. The backplate seems to be made of some really old material, (seemingly) capable of holding strong even against a lightsaber (gasp!). With some minor modifications, Ven even managed to allow a jumppack to be attached to the plate, allowing lengthened jumps and short 'flights'. YUPPERS IT'S A LITTLE COOL.
Unfortunately, it weighs some... Along with its minor bulk, it slows Ven down. So usually she doesn't equip it. So if a sith/jedi wants to be a jerk and kill her, ambush her randomly. She won't be wearing that life-saving backplate. BUT DON'T EXPECT HER TO GO DOWN EASY. Kaironimo's weapons sure pack a punch! (Read the history to know why Ven is sometimes called Kaironimo)
-Weapons: YEEPEE! VENNY LOVES HER WEAPONS. VERY MUCH SO. YES INDEED >w< But what firepower does Ven possess? Simple! A combination of melee and ranged weapons, each easy to access and usually quite effective! To be exact: To vibroswords, kept strapped to her back (when not in armor she keeps one on her belt), a few small throwing knives (not very effective, pathetic against armored opponents), an optional stun baton, two blaster pistols (T-6 Thunderer Heavy Blaster Pistols), one blaster rifle (A280 Blaster rifle), and a variety of thermal detonators and grenades.
These weapons are not all carried at once. Depending on the job at hand, and the environment, Ven will choose different weapons. Usually she'll have at least one close range and one long range weapon. Common combinations include: Vibroswords, one T-6 blaster pistol. Two T-6 Blaster pistols, throwing knives. A280 Blaster Rifle, thermal detonators, and a few throwing knives. Thermal detonators, vibroswords, stun baton, and one throwing knife used like a dagger.
And those are Ven'Rain's personal weapons. Sometimes a client who hires her will supply her with specialized weapons or gear, though that's not the norm. In the past she has been equipped with even stronger blasters, speeders, and sometimes even custom staffs/lances. Oh, and once a blastsword (look it up on Wookieepedia).
-Other: The Starlight Victor (mentioned above) is Ven's treasure. Besides that, she really doesn't have much. Normal everyday clothes, a suit for formal occasions, food, drinks. Nothing special. Kaironimo does have a breath mask for emergencies, with four hours of oxygen. There's also one custom built into her helmet. If one considers her implants equipment, then the one replacing her left lung is another piece. It, along with letting Ven breathe easier, has the ability to help Ven adapt to different atmospheres. And yup, that's Venny's stuff!

TEN THINGS YOU DON"T NEED TO KNOW ABOUT VEN'RAIN:
As a young adult she had a pet Nexu. After he was killed on a job, she had him stuffed. His final resting place is her captain's quarters on The Starlight Victor.
Ven's second favorite pastime, after reading, is either gardening (SURPRISE) or learning new ways to kill/injure someone. Because Ven is just like that.
Though you can't tell, Ven is actually naturally a ginger. She just dyes her hair every once in awhile.
Cantina music is good. But Ven prefers any music that has someone screaming in it. Like a Star Wars version of Bring Me the Horizon. She would love that.
Originally she was going to be named Ker'Rain, but her mother thought it sounded to much like something a drunk person would slur out.
Every female in the Sekairo family has a name like Ven's. Three letters, an apostrophe, then Rain. All of the males have four letters, an apostrophe, then Dar (ex: Vren'Dar, Scar'Dar, Rein'Dar, etc.).
Ven's mother used to be a spice dealer on the side. So while Ven was growing up, she was exposed to it. Luckily Sea'Rain stopped in the trade before Ven's body was addicted to it.
Who would have guessed that Ven is a published author? Well she is! Currently she has two medium length novels out, based off her adventures as a childe (yes, I did just put an 'e' at the end of child. Why? See the next fact).
For some reason Ven always spells 'child' as 'childe'. Or if she really likes someone, she'll add another 'e'. CHILDEE. Though it's still pronounced 'child'.
If you ever have to work with Ven, be prepared to be called Childe. No matter your age, gender, species, or rank, Ven will call you childe. More likely troublesome childe... It's just how she rolls.
