Strengths:
+Just Different: The San-Ni Staff is extremely rare in general, so it affords Kael an element of surprise and helps guarantee others can’t steal his weapon and use it against him.
+Differing forms: Having a Three-Section Staff form and a San-Ni Staff form allows Kael combat options to further confuse enemies.
+Not a Cutting Weapon: Despite whatever lightsaber resistant armor a foe might possess Veronica spits more electrical than plasma energy, and can damage the opponent as long as you can connect a current.
Weaknesses:
-Not Lightsaber Resistant: As different and interesting as Veronica is she’s not lightsaber resistant, so one wrong move could mean the end of her life, and Kael’s.
-Less Lethal: Veronica requires a much more solid hit than say, a lightsaber or infinitely sharp sith sword to yield similar results.
-Two Handed: Unlike a lightsaber or vibroblade Veronica is a wild girl and needs two hands to use properly, precluding the use of an offhand weapon or shield.
Description:
Being a former Teepo Paladin Kael never really like Lightsabers, but figured he’d probably need a melee weapon just in case. Finding the San-Ni Staff to be an interesting and exotic weapon he went on to build that in place of the traditional plasma blade. A normal San-Ni Staff consists of three segments that are attached together to make a length around 50cm(with 20, 10, and 20 cm sections respectively). When the sections are twisted they disconnect, prompting two 10cm electric prods to emerge from the ends, while two 40cm power couplings extend from from the outside sections to the inner section. These power coupling can deflect and trap lightsaber blades with a couple spin arounds, not to mention sheer off limbs, cook flesh, and even give intense burns on a near miss.
Veronica however, is a special San-Ni Staff. When a button is pressed and Veronic is in her extended form the sections will extend out over the course of about a second, creating two 50cm rods(with 10cm stun prods on the end) and a 60cm inner section while the power coupling length goes down to 12cm. The resulting weapon is a three section staff that serves as a nice change of pace, trading lightsaber defense and the electrical damage of the power couplings for better range and potential for blunt damage.
Overall Veronica is a nice surprise, as most lightsaber duelists are simply not experienced or trained against such a weapon. Beyond the surprise factor however, the weapon is decidedly less lethal than say, a lightsaber or an infinitely sharp sith sword due to the less “cutting” power and “blade” length.
