OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION

GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Planet Name: Vesskyzi (vess-KY-zee)
  • Demonym: N/A
  • Region: Unknown Regions
  • System Name: N/A
  • System Features: Vesskyzi is little more than a huge comet, surrounded by a vast storm of comets and the occasional titanic dead proto-Purrgil. Vesskyzi orbits an unremarkable and nameless red dwarf star.
  • Location: The far left edge of the map about halfway up, above the giant asteroidal ice spike.
  • Major Imports: Food, fuel, parts
  • Major Exports: Water ice
  • Unexploited Resources: Rare isotopes, archaic xenological specimens

GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION
  • Gravity: 0.2 Standard
  • Climate: Frozen
  • Primary Terrain: Ice and dust
  • Atmosphere: Type IV

LOCATION INFORMATION
  • Capital City: Translates to 'Narrow Pocket' — a knot of modules deep enough in a crevice to access the planet's slushy heart and escape comet impacts.
  • Planetary Features: Ice mines with primitive but efficient mass drivers that send payloads to orbit.
  • Major Locations: A colossal mummified Purrgil progenitor is embedded in the ice and has been for several million years. Scavengers have mined much of its biomass or used it for shelter against comet debris. It is an unsettling place but a useful port, and a decent landmark for finding Narrow Pocket in a nearby crevice.

POPULATION
  • Native Species: N/A
  • Immigrated Species: Agarians, a long-lived, starfaring, fungoid species without a sense of sight.
  • Population: Sparse
  • Demographics: Completely Agarians. Others risk being eaten out of necessity.
  • Primary Languages: A dialect of Agarian, though the Longjumper's Mark expedition left a small number of translation droids.
  • Culture: Hardscrabble, taciturn (mushrooms), ruthless, reactionary, insular, tired, hungry.

GOVERNMENT & ECONOMY
  • Government: Acephalous association of fungal individuals and family groups/ship crews.
  • Affiliation: Unaffiliated and autonomous.
  • Wealth: Poor. Extremely remote and alone.
  • Stability: Medium. Times are hard but there's no room for nonsense, and Agarians live a very long time. Outsiders are not, as a rule, safe unless they have useful things to barter and the strength to protect those things.
  • Freedom & Oppression: No particular oppression but circumstance; no particular freedom due to lack of options. Not really a relevant dichotomy in this small acephalous society. Specific ice mines and ship crews can have domineering leadership in one way or another.

MILITARY & TECHNOLOGY
  • Military: None, but the few ships around are decently armed and would unite against outsiders if needed, comparable to a small local patrol force.
  • Technology: Outer Rim standard, but adapted for a species without eyesight.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Thousands of years ago, a giant Agarian seedling went astray through the distortions of the Unknown Regions. It eventually sprouted during the Four-Hundred-Year Darkness after crashing into Vesskyzi. Enough ice liquefied on impact to allow it to grow, but not to flourish. The resulting colony of Agarians has faced very limited interstellar contact ever since.

The Longjumper's Mark expedition encountered this comet storm, and an Agarian ice-mining ship in distress, in 900 ABY. Captain Atlas Drake Atlas Drake and communications specialist Tilon Quill took a shuttle through the comets and Purrgil skeletons to make contact and render aid. The meeting was tense, nearly carnivorous, but fruitful all the same: the Agarians exchanged decades of local navigational data and rare isotope samples for various nutrients, translation droids, and spare parts.

Hi Tilon Quill Tilon Quill I'll be reviewing this one.

Really cool lore here. I would just ask a couple things of you and I'll be happy to send this off for second approval.
  • Please can you link to the Wookieepedia page for Purrgils.
  • You mentioned the Dark Age in the history. I'm assuming this is the Republic Dark Age, in which case could you link to this Wookiee page for this too.

Please just give me a tag once these are done :)

Purrgils linked, citation fixed - I was thinking of the Chaos Four-Hundred-Year Darkness.
