Visiting the five brothers…

Corvus showed Alexander some of the basic moves but without a deep connection to the Force though Meditation, it was just a form of exercise.

“I’m sorry – Alchaka is an advanced form. But you asked me to show you something I enjoy. And for me, the feeling of being so close to the Force is like nothing else. It’s like I’m only alive when I’m connected. Maybe it’s like an addiction? I don’t know, all I know is that I couldn’t live without it. Or rather I wouldn’t want to.”

She gave Alexander a quizzical look. “Does that make sense?”

He smiled, not one single bit but she already put so much effort and with a flat out and as convincing lie that he could make, he looked at her and nodded. "It makes perfect sense, im just not used to it is all so don't worry you did a good job explaining it..." He sighed as he stopped doing the exercise with a tired grin. "Though, if you don't mind, why don't we try something a little less strenuous... ever hear music before, like from a live instrument alone. Or better yet, every played one?"

Corvus shook her head. "I mean, I've heard music, in the background but I don't choose to listen to anything specific. It would...mean I wasn't doing something useful." She smiled as best she could. The thought of just listening seemed odd to say the least.

He clapped his hands and smiled as he rubbed his chin and thought about it, where was the closest place with a keyboard of some kind or a stringed instrument... there had to be one nearby. If only they were at Eshan, then he could go and stop by his collection without worry but they were on Correllia. "Ok, follow me, i have an idea." There was bound to be some form of concert hall somewhere on the planet, all it took was a level of patience and persistence that was a bit heavier than in other areas.

Corvus dutifully followed. In truth her patience was bountiful but she was aware that she wasn't going to get the time to visit her family now and was thinking of all the things she could be doing that were more productive than this. So politeness called for some respect but she had to be honest. "Do you know how long this will take? I have cancelled lessons to be here and I only have a small window of opportunity." She smiled and her voice was still light and cheery.

He stopped dead in his tracks and rubbed his forehead as he realized he had been keeping the jedi from her work. "Right sorry... i don't know how long it would take to find a concert hall on Correllia, if we were on Eshan i could bring you to a place where i know has the instruments i am looking for but here its only a guess. If you have to go don't let me keep you, its my apologies for doing so if i did."

Corvus shook her head gently. "No need to apologise but the time taken to attend a concert would be more than I have at my disposal. But why don't you think of one more thing for us to do?" Corvus smiled and put her robe back on. "Anything you'd like."

He smiled and laughed as she mentioned the concert and spoke again as he shook his head. "You miss understand, i just need to find an instrument, i dont need to actually find a concert and have you sit one... i understand how boring they can be for a majority of people." His hands came up to rub his neck as he pointed out that he was going to give her a singular show at the joys music can bring. "But, due to time restrictions i see your point. Hmm... where to go instead."

Corvus indicated a shopping mall opposite. "There's bound to be a shop that sells musical instruments in there. I used to go to the mall every week and buy candy. Pick and Mix it was called. You could choose from a whole selection and put it all in one box. I haven't been there since I was four..." There was a wistful look in her eye.

"Lets go then." He didn't specify which place simplty because he mean both of them, after all a place where you could get a box full of candy, Alexander just could help his curiosity into watching the Jedi in a place that would inspire such a memory and maybe he could get her to act normal once doing this. "Just don't embarrass me if you get a sugar rush missy, i am still responsible for you if you do." He waved his finger, as if he were lecturing a little kid as he smiled at her.

Corvus entered the mall and it was like some variation of time-travel. Sure the decor had changed but the layout was the same. Many of the old shops were still there. The department store, the furniture shop. And the candy store.

Suddenly she stopped and checked her pockets. She really was an old-fashioned Jedi. In her purse were just enough credits for her next meal. Relieved, she walked into the store and by simply inhaling she must have put on a kilo in weight. She grabbed one of the containers and a scoop and started to fit as many sweets into the box as she could. She even had to hold her thuimb on the lid, in case it sprung open. Seemingly delighted with her purchase she smiled at the shop-keeper, paid and left. Opening the lid again, she held the box under Alexander's nose and beamed from ear to ear.

"The sour cherries are my favourite." It was difficult to tell if this was an encouragement to try one - or a warning to keep away.

He raised a brow as he had the sweets put up and under his nose, smiling for a minute before speaking afterwards. "Never really ate anything like that to be honest, though i must say this is something i certainly would not have expected a jedi to get so excited about, its like your a little kid that just got the best present in the world." He smiled, clearly meaning for the words to be taken in a good way and not a mocking tone as he smiled at her with a turn of his head. "By the way, on the our way in i saw what i was looking for if you don't mind one last stop before you let your jedi ways claim you once again."

Alexander, and much in the same Corvus had reacted to the candy looked among the shops and beeline it for a store that he had seen a specific instrument in. Archaic in design it was a keyboard instrument with a large body and many many keys. He smiled and looked at the shop owner, handing him some credits as insurance he wouldn't break the thing. "Ok, Corvus, have you ever played an instrument at all, if not im going to show you how to play this if you don't take much mind to me doing so." He grinned and let his hands glide over the numerous keys and pressed one, letting its sound flow out from the body of the thing. "Ah, such a beautiful sound..."

Its a piano

Corvus listened to Alexander. She munched on another piece of candy and glanced around the store. It was amazing how many different types of instruments existed - all shapes and sizes and colours.

"No," she said as he touched one of the keys and it made a deep, resonating sound. "Never."

"Come here and sit down, ill show you how this one is played." He smiled at her and let his hands glide over the keys again, pressing down ever so lightly on some of the keys and smiling as the sounds came from the thing before looking at Corvus. "Ok so the keys on this go in the order A, B, C, D, E, F, and lastly G. Im going to play the same ones that i ask you to play down on this end of the keys. The keys actually repeat and each time it repeats the sound drops to a lower pitch but for now lets see if we can get you playing something first?" He smiled and sat beside her as his eyes focus on her hands. "Ok, place this one here and this one here for now." He reached over and moved her hands to the correct position before going to place his hands back on the area he as going to use in which to show as an example.

Corvus duly sat and observed. Although on the face of it, it seemed to be a test of memory, there appeared to be more to it under the surface. As if something deeper was at play. But to Corvus it was mechanical. The pressing of buttons in a given sequence. It was not like the Force, that spoke to her and guided her. This was like...eating. You did it and you know it was useful but she got no pleasure from it.

She tried her best to enjoy what she was doing but found it was beyond her. "I'm sorry. I'm sure it is a useful skill, but my mind keeps wandering to, well you know...Jedi things."

"Hmm... close your eyes, im going to play something quick and i want you to tell me what it is that comes to mind hearing it. When im done then you can make your judgement again. Its not suppose to useful, its support to be fun, or enchanting, or even just relaxing that is what ive been ttrying to show you thus far and i think it would be better if i showed you what i mean." He smiled and tried one last thing as he scooted more towards the middle so that he could reach all the keys, ignoring that he was now shoulder to shoulder with her. And then he started playing, a sad soft song that left the instrument as Alexander closed his eyes and focused on the wound and letting his hands and fingers move from each one and leaving a smile to touch his face.

Now he was just trying to confuse her. What was the point of something that's not useful? Sweets when you were a child were useful - they satisfied a craving for sugar.

And she could understand something not useful that didn't take up any of her time. But to learn to play an instrument or to take the time to listen to a long piece of music? No, she simply didn't understand. But she dutiful closed her eyes. "Ready"

The music was...OK and as she relaxed and allowed the melody to wash over her she - well she started to think about her lesson planning for tomorrow. Which Masters might be available if missions had taken them away from the Academy. She was oblivious to Alexander's proximity and wasn't even aware he'd finished playing until she heard a silence hanging.

Opening her eyes, she grinned sheepishly. "Sorry...it was...nice."

He smiled as he finished playing and starred at the piano before standing up and shrugging. "Well, that was everything i had to show you, so what did you think about that day then?" His eyes brightened as he walked over to the shop owner and gave him a few more credits before bowing to him quickly. "Thank you for letting me use it." Once he was done there he turned back to her and smiled. "Well, i now owe you an answer, do i not?"
