STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES
Strong with the Force
Vu'thari was born with the Force flowing through him like a river. Recently, he has been fighting his fate to become a Jedi, but the call of the Force is strong. Vu'thari is strong with Telekinesis, especially when channeled as a Force Push, which he integrates into his lightsaber combat. While utilizing the Force to Alter his body, he is quite proficient at augmenting his speed and quickness with the Force, but when he attempts to heal himself and others, the skill is still emerging and not very powerful at the moment. Mentally and physically, he is very strong defensively with the Force, able to absorb or deflect Force type attacks with growing proficiency. While he cannot influence minds quite yet, he is proficient at sensing emotion and sensing the Force, in its many forms.

Intelligent
Vu'thari has the capacity to gobble up knowledge, especially anything having to do with the Force. He has a very analytical mind that processes quite fast for his species. In the times of the Jedi Order, he would have been considered a Jedi Sage or Jedi Scholar of some sort. This intelligence has also helped his ability to soak up languages that he is exposed to on a frequent basis.

Defensive Lightsaber Skills
Jedi Master Mastrovo Jolloz was an accomplished warrior, taking advantage of the easy grace twi'lek's possess in their movements. But the combat style he taught Vu'thari was a style that emphasized defense. In fact, every maneuver requires the opponent to attack first, which can be a considerable disadvantage in many situations. The foundation of the fighting style is Soresu (Form III). However, it requires much more movement and speed. The idea is to use the opponent's momentum against them in nearly every way. Counter attacks whether by a force blast or the lightsaber are the lifeblood of this style. The body of the wielder is always moving when an attack is made. The footwork draws upon aspects of Makashi (Form II) and the integration of Force abilities draws from Niman (Form VI) techniques. Particular to this unique style of combat is an inverted grip on the hilt of the lightsaber.
*Think of this as a strong Aikido-influenced fighting style, amplifying the countering maneuvers with the Force and supplementing lightsaber defense with Kendo.

Electronics Tinkerer
Ever since he was a child, Vu'thari has been fascinated by electronics. He is an avid tinkerer, designer, and repairer of electrical systems in nearly any device. However, this expertise really extends to electronics and not the mechanical aspects of devices. He will need help in this area.

Partial Amnesia
Since being shot through time to the present, Vu’thari has lost pockets of his memory, some memories coming in as a distant haze. As such, he knows there are parts of his memories that have not returned to him, although some are beginning to emerge...

Paranoia
No matter how close one gets to Vu’thari, he has a difficult time trusting anyone. The memories he does have bring back scenes of betrayal and hate. Due to his lack of sufficient memories to put things back together, he has opted to trust nothing.

APPEARANCE
Vu’thari is a wiry, fit twi’lek. Standing approximately 6’2” and weighing in at 170 lbs., he is a lean specimen and would be considered handsome by humans. Keeping his mind off of his past, he meditates first, then works out and exercises at the start of every morning. His skin is a mottled pinkish-red hue. Bright green orbs peer out and seem to take in every detail, always seeming to settle on the object of their focus with a bit of distrust or wonder. His back and lekku are adorned with intricate, black tattoos typical of his clan. While in Nar Shaddaa, he wears dark, neutral breeches and tunics, often speckled with grease, grime and dust from his work. Rarely is he not found wearing a worn tool belt securing dozens of small parts and tools. His physical form is built for agility and endurance, not brute strength. The left side of his face bears a scar from a tarentatuk, effectively blinding his left eye.

BIOGRAPHY
Ozaz Fanu was born on the Sith-controlled planet of Ryloth. Raised by Wella, his mother, and Riskaa, his father, Ozaz was taught to honor his family’s clan, Clan Fanu. Although the planet is subjugated to imperial rule, the twi’lek clans have been allowed to maintain their traditions and customs. When he was 4 years old, a discovery gave the parents of Ozaz quite a surprise—young Ozaz was moving small objects with his mind. The parents were completely confused, unsure of what was occurring—and quite scared. Unsure of what to do, Wella told her father, Mastrovo. Not seeming surprised by this revelation, Mastrovo told the parents not to worry about it and to just keep it a secret on what their son was capable of. Trusting Wella’s father, Ozaz began spending time with Mastrovo. Only Ozaz’s grandfather was known by another name: Jedi Master Mastrovo Jolloz.

And so it came to pass that the reclusive Jedi Master Mastrovo Jolloz took on his grandson as his padawan in secrecy, hoping to train Ozaz to become a Jedi. Mastrovo was an old twi’lek and was unsure of how many years he would be able to train young Ozaz, but he made it his life mission to do so in the twilight of his life. Jedi Master Mastrovo had taken upon himself to collect all the data he could on the Jedi before it was completely burned away from history by the Sith. As time passed and Jedi Master Mastrovo began training the young padawan, so too did he begin teaching Ozaz about the scholarly aspects of being a Jedi. While Ozaz did receive training with a lightsaber, his real strength came from his command of the Force. As the young twi’lek learned more and more about the ways of the Force, he also immersed himself in the knowledge of their origins, their traditions, their order and Jedi in history. Fascinated by it all, Ozaz soaked up lore taught to him by his grandfather.

His relationship with his parents was good. Being taught the ways of a Jedi helped mature the young twi’lek very quickly. His parents did not know what was being taught to their son and did not want to know—they trusted Wella’s father to have the best interests of the child at heart. While Wella suspected her father was a Jedi of some sort, he would always deflect the questions with a smile and a chuckle. In truth, anymore who knew he was a Jedi would be at risk from the Sith, so the secret stayed a secret. This did not mean his parents were not involved in his life, quite the contrary. They spent a lot of time together when it was possible, but Ozaz and his older sister were often left by themselves due to the father’s work as a bodyguard for a Ryloth politician and to his mother’s work as a precious stone merchant which caused her to travel often across nearby systems.

Besides his enthusiasm for his training sessions with his grandfather, the young twi’lek began to fall in love with electronic gadgetry. Just like he loved knowing how the Jedi were formed and was intrigued by the intricacies of the Jedi Orders of the past, Ozaz also had a passion for making electronic gadgets work. It started with repairing small restrainer bolts and moved on to repairing shipboard circuitry. When he was 17, he began training as an electrical engineer. His focus was building and repairing any wiring, circuitry and electrical apparatuses that were put in front of him. While he would struggle with taking apart a droid wheel assembly, he would excel at rewiring a droid from top to bottom—if the mechanical part of the job was already done for him. At this point, Ozaz secretly underwent the Jedi Trials and constructed his own lightsaber. Succeeding in these tests, Jedi Master Mastrovo pronounced Ozaz a Jedi after 13 years of private education and training. His grandfather never got into the naming of titles, such as Jedi Knight or Jedi Master since the Jedi Order did not exist. It was just “Jedi”…

Shortly after achieving the title of Jedi, with Ozaz at 19 years of age, a few short years from his engineering certification, he met a beautiful twi’lek named Knoki. The two instantly fell in love. Jedi Master Mastrovo was not happy with this development and reminded Ozaz of the dangers of attachment. This became a source of tension for the teacher and the apprentice. Ozaz often argued that the Jedi Order and Jedi Council were gone—life had to go on without them. Unable to sway Ozaz from his love for Knoki, he decided to help him instead. As such, Jedi Master Mastrovo began to teach Ozaz more techniques for emotional stability when love was involved. Ozaz reminded his old Master that he would always be on guard from the Dark Side and was aware of the dangerous path he was following as a Jedi.

Two years later, Ozaz and Knoki were engaged. Shortly after the engagement, Ozaz achieved a distinguished electrical engineering certification from the governing body of Ryloth. A few weeks after certification, Ozaz got a job at an electrical engineering firm that produced a variety of products such as freighters, speeders, droids, blast doors, blast door circuitry, etc. It earned him a decent living and he began living on his own, not far from his grandfather, who continued to train him, but with less frequency.

A few months before Ozaz and Knoki were to be married, he revealed to his fiancée that he was a Jedi and with such a title came great danger with him wherever he went. Knoki did not hesitate in answering that she didn’t care and that they would make it work. So, they were married a few months later.

Shortly after Ozaz and Knoki were married, a secret communique was received from Ozaz’s grandfather. It revealed that Mastrovo had been caught by the Sith during one of his “artifact recovery trips”. Usually, Ozaz accompanied him on these expeditions, but he didn’t even know his grandfather was going on this particular one. The communique revealed that he knew this trip was risky, so he did not want to bring Ozaz. Indeed, his droid sent the message that the Sith discovered him on this trip and he was killed in combat against overwhelming numbers. The message also revealed that the droid wiped all the data and self-destructed the ship right after the message was sent. Ozaz was crushed. After all this time, the young Jedi loved his grandfather like his own father. For weeks, Ozaz had to fight away all the hate and rage he was feeling towards the Sith, but finally got it under control after many days of meditation.

Following his grandfather’s funeral, Ozaz struck out on his own and started a small electrical engineering firm specializing in repair and modifications of any device or vehicle that housed circuitry. Knoki, business savvy in her own right, ran the administrative side of the business, keeping the books, meeting with customers, etc. All the while, Ozaz continued to chronicle, research and basically pick up where his grandfather left off after making sure nothing would be traced back from his grandfather to him.

Ozaz Fanu is the given name of the twi’lek. Often, twi’leks will combine their first name and clan name. As such, with outsiders, he was simply known as Ozaz’fanu. Although his life was “complicated”, secretly being a Jedi, Ozaz’Fanu continued living out his life. By the time he was 27 years old, Ozaz’Fanu and Knoki had their first son. They named their son, Mastrov, after his great grandfather. Ozaz’Fanu and Knoki kept the secret of the Jedi away from their children. At this point, this secret just rested with Ozaz’Fanu and his wife. Five years later, Knoki gave birth to their second son, Riskaa II, after his grandfather.

Shortly after Riskaa II was born, Ozaz’Fanu discovered that Mastrov was force sensitive. Ozaz’Fanu had no intention of training his son to be a Jedi due to the danger of him being discovered. He had always known this was a possibility with his children, but he was holding out hope that the force sensitive trait would not be passed on. So Ozaz’Fanu explained to Mastrovo that he had to hide his abilities and must never show them to anyone but mom and dad. However, the secrecy only lasted for a few more months…

Mastrov came home from his school one day and told his parents that there had been an accident and he moved a table with his mind with a room full of students and a teacher to witness. Prepared for this eventuality, Ozaz’Fanu got Knoki to go with Mastrov and pick up their second child a few minutes away, who was staying with their Aunt for the weekend. She would pack up the kids and meet Ozaz’Fanu back at their house. While she was doing that, he would get their ship ready for takeoff. Taking all the Jedi trappings he could carry, he rushed to his ship and fired up the main engines. Rushing back on his speeder bike, his instincts urged him to slow down. As he rounded the corner, his wife and children were being dragged out of the house by a large force of Sith. The leader among them slapped his wife to the ground, but she reared up and clocked him in the jaw with an act of defiance. This enraged the Sith and his red-hued lightsaber ignited and cut a swath into his family, killing his wife and both children within seconds.

Rage, anguish, fear and a dozen other emotions threatened to send Ozaz’Fanu into action. Before he even realized what had happened, his lightsaber was in his hand and he had dismounted his speeder…but it was as if he could hear his grandfather’s voice, “You are one of the last Jedi in the galaxy—if you die, the Jedi may very well die with you…” With tears streaming down his face, Ozaz’Fanu paused. His training took over and was able to overcome the impulses that leapt to his body. Turning on his heels, with his head buried in his cowl, he trudged back to the ship in anguish, but commanded himself to leave Ryloth before they the Sith could lock down his ship. And with that, Ozaz’Fanu left his home with plans to never return.

After many hyperspace hops, Ozaz’Fanu ended up in a place where the Sith’s reign was not absolute—Hutt Space. Wishing to ply his trade in this area, he settled down in Nar Shaddaa and attempted to start over. His first priority was to get an identity that was not his own. Spending the credits to make it happen in Nar Shaddaa, Ozaz left his name behind on Ryloth and became Vu’thari. At 32 years old, Vu’thari was starting over in a dangerous, unknown place, but certainly safer than most other Sith controlled systems. He decided to disappear on a planet where credits are king and where it would be easy to be lost in the shuffle of 85 billion other beings. With his new identity in place, Vu’thari began preparing to open a small electrical engineering firm in the Corellia Sector of Nar Shaddaa.

In a place where allies were in short supply, Vu’thari let the Force move him. When looking for spare parts in a junk yard, Vu’thari met a group of mercenaries that were also seeking spare parts. One of them, named Critas, was preparing to open up a business based off of welding, metallurgy and repair. This chance meeting turned into something else as the months passed. Soon, Vu’thari and this “entrepreneur” realized they could benefit from each other professionally. Critas and Vu’thari bought a place together in the Corellia Sector and split the space. After a few months of being in business together, Critas revealed that he and his crew were Mandalorians. While Critas thought this might scare Vu’thari off, it had the opposite reaction and was pleased at the revelation. Without going into detail, Vu’thari revealed that he was a criminal and that the Sith sought his capture. While this is true, Vu’thari did not reveal that he was a Jedi. But Vu’thari justified this hidden fact in his mind due to his swearing off the ways of a Jedi ever since tragedy struck with his family.

For the last five years, Vu’thari has been working as a low-profile electrical engineer in Nar Shaddaa. His Jedi trappings have been locked away in a secret compartment for those years. A few years ago, he met another Jedi: Jedi Master Bridge. Vu’thari was not sure how the Jedi Master found him and his biggest concern was to make sure that the Jedi Master wasn’t followed. But the Jedi Master wisely met him at a spaceport one of the few times he was offworld. This was perhaps the only reason Vu’thari was willing to hear him out. Jedi Master Bridge sat down with him over a cup of caf, explaining that there were other Jedi and the time was now to emerge, support the fledgling Galactic Alliance and reform the Jedi Order. But Vu’thari explained that it hurt too much to go back to the ways of the Jedi. Politely, Vu’thari declined the invitation. However, the two did meet roughly once a year to speak on the galaxy, Jedi and life. If nothing else, he was someone Vu’thari could talk to about his time as a Jedi.

Vu’thari is now 37 years old. He struggles with feelings of anger, frustration, stress and sadness on a daily basis. He has been sinking himself into his work and desperately try to forget the past...but he cannot.

Recently, Vu’thari got word that Jedi Master Bridge was killed by the Sith. The twi’lek was not surprised at this message. While moved by the news, it was not enough to have him go out on a limb and follow-up on the deceased Jedi Master’s request. However, the future of the Jedi, Vu’thari, has not yet been written.

ADDITIONAL EVENTS THAT OCCURRED DURING THE PREVIOUS ERA
- Vu'thari joined the Galactic Alliance
- Vu'thari took on Kae'Leigh, Ayasha and Prax as Padawans
- The Jedi Master performed many missions for the Galactic Alliance, earning the Medal of Initiation and the Medal of Honor.
- Acquired a modified scout ship called the Apogee
- Acquired a shop on Ord Mantell, Overture Repair and Engineering with his Mandaloiran business partner, Dio
- Vu'thari elevated Ayasha to Jedi Knight once she passed the Jedi Knight Trials
- Vu'thari had a falling out with the Alliance Council and left the Galactic Alliance, with Ayasha and many apprentices going with them
- The Jedi master formed the Jedi Covenant, dedicated to preserving the Jedi and training the Jedi to fight the Sith without Galactic Alliance oversight

Vu’thari and Ayasha (Jedi Knight) traveled in hyperspace to discover a Jedi Temple, but something happened in hyperspace that transported the pair millennia in time ahead. When he awoke, he was laying down in a shallow stream with no sign of his ship or Ayasha. He is now alone in a different time of the galaxy with much of his memory of the past gone.

He has now been living in this new future for 5 years. Vu'thari only has flashes and dreams of his former life, suffering from amnesia. As soon as he awoke on a planet called Binaros, he was placed in captivity for two years. After escaping, he decided to remain on Binaros and currently leads the Coven of Equilibria there.
