'Wake Up...Wake Up....WAKE UP' the voices in his head said to him. 'This is your home.' Yuri woke up in a alley on the planet Abregado-rae. "Where am I?" Yuri said aloud. 'Dont worry Yuri, this is your new home.' The voice said. Just then Yuri saw a shadow out of th the corner of his eye. "Hey....h-hey y-you w-ho aare y-you." Yuri asked trying to get up. 'I am the your mind, you shall do what I say.' The voices said. "G-GET OUT OF MY HEAD" Yuri yelled. 'I control your mind Yuri...' the voice said.

Yuri trembled he rose up and attempted to follow the man. But he turned a corner into a empty cortyard.

"W-where'd he g-go?" Yuri asked.

'You will never know' the voice said.

Yuri trembled again, he walked into the middle of the courtyard, all that was left was a mask....his mask. He grabbed it and slipped it over his face.

Matteus wandered through the streets on Abregado-rae, searching for something that would catch his interest. The crowd of people was wearing thin, getting deeper and deeper into the less popular part of town. He stopped for a moment, leaning up against a wall. Could anything happen today? I mean.. anything? He thought. Conveniently, right after saying that he heard some shuffling in the alleyway. There's my cue. Matteus looked down the alley, seeing a figure go around the corner.

Not everyday you see someone hanging out in an alley alone. Matteus smirked. He started walking after the person, hoping he'd be able to catch them. The walk turned into a light jog and Matteus took the same turn.

He stood there by the courtyard, his eyes locking on the figure. He tried to get back around the corner to cover himself but instead clumsily bumped into it, knocking himself onto the ground. Matteus' head turned on a swivel, looking back at the figure. He could only hope that he hadn't been discovered.

'Did you see that Yuri...a man....tried to sneak up on you....kill him' the voices rang through his head. Yuri tilted his head, he simply stared at the man on the ground. 'Kill him' the voice rang again... "NO....I WILL NOT" Yuri yelled. He slowly walked to the man on the ground.


"T-the V-voices, do you hear t-them too?" Yuri asked with a scared tone in his voice.

'If you dont kill him he will kill you' the Voices said.

"S-shut up, get out of m-my head" Yuri said.

He looked down at the man.

"Get up...before the voices..." the seventeen year old's voice trailed off.

Still on the ground, he heard the man yell before slowly making his way over. Looking up, Matteus quickly examined the figure. It wasn't intimidating at all. Other than the terrifying mask.

"T-the V-voices, do you hear t-them too?" The voice was soft and sounded incredibly scared. Before Matteus could get out an answer, the figure was talking again. "S-shut up, get out of m-my head". This time it was clear that Matteus wasn't the one being spoken to. The mask looked down at him, "Get up....before the voices...". His voice trailed off, leaving Matteus wondering what was going on. Without second thought, he sprung back to his feet.

Making sure he kept his distance from the masked man, he finally spoke. "What voices?" Matteus asked.

'Kill him...kill him NOW!!!" The voices echoed in his head. "T-the v-voices...they're everywhere." Yuri said trying to Ignore the voices in his head.

"The voices they...they brought me here...I don't know how..." Yuri said with a scared wavering voice.

'You can't run Yuri...I am watching you.' The voices said.

Yuri clenched his head, he slowly took off his mask and showed the man his scar where one of his eyes used to be.

"Y-you see this...t-the voices...t-they did this to me." Yuri said when in fact he did it to himself.

The masked boy continued to talk. "The voices they...they brought me here...I don't know how..." He explained. Something about his voice and the stutters sent chills up Matteus' spine.

Matteus kept a close eye on him, clenching his fists. He had to be prepared. What does this guy think he's doing?

The boy removed the mask, showing a scar over a missing eye. Matteus' face wrinkled up, wincing at the thought of how that mark came to be.

"Who are the voices?" Matteus questioned the boy. "Look around... There's nobody here. Other than us of course." Just to make sure he was entirely correct, his eyes scanned the area once again. "Yep. Just us."

Yuri couldn't believe the man had not heard the voices.

"The voices are...are...are from the man in the t-trench coat. H-he made me kill my parents, he-he is in my mind. He was r-right where you were." Yuri lookeed around with a scared look on his face. He saw th man...the dark shadow with a trench coat on. (Yuri has schizophrenia but doesn't know it) "there... there d-dont kill me..." yuri trembled and fell to the ground. His own insanity was getting the better of him.

the seventeen year old closed his eyes, and tears gushed out.

'Yuuuuri... am I scaring you?' The voices laughed.

Matteus patiently listened to the boy further explain himself. "The voices are...are...are from the man in the t-trench coat. H-he made me kill my parents, he-he is in my mind. He was r-right where you were" The boy looked around, terrified. It was as if something was haunting him. "There... there d-dont kill me..." The boy shook and collapsed to the ground, starting to cry.

"Kill your parents...?" Matteus knelt beside the boy. He had no clue what to say. It was obvious that something was seriously wrong. "...Can you not ignore the voices? Block them out." Matteus gave his best advice, figuring that the boy's situation was that simple to fix.

"K-kill my parents...I had to..h-he was torturing me...m-my mind!" He said through his tears

'Hahaha your a coward' the voices said.

"SShhh" Yuri whispered

"The voices can't be blocked out...they're too loud." Yuri mentioned.

Once again, Matteus found himself struggling to say anything. The boy was psychotic. The voices in his head, him killing his own parents. It all finally added up in Matteus' mind.

"Listen to me." Matteus had now decided to take a more direct approach with the boy. "You need to tell me, what are you doing on this planet? How did you get here?"

Despite being deathly afraid of the boy, Matteus kept a calm demeanor, letting his dark eyes glare into the boy's. He crossed his arms, awaiting a response.

'Don't trust him Yuri...he'll turn you in...'

"He wouldn't" yuri whispered

'Yess he would'

Yuri decided to take a chance anyway

"I d-dont know how I ended up here, or what I am doing here...the voices say this is my new home." Yuri said quickly.

'You bastard!' The voices said to Yuri...the shadowed man came back.

"N-n-no" yuri stuttered before fumbling back into a wall.

He was scared...

Even though he already knew that the boy was crazy, the commotion that he randomly caused found a way to startle him. Matteus looked around, ready to fight. Seeing that the boy was hallucinating, he let out a sigh and turned to face him. "There may be voices inside your head.. but I can assure you that there isn't a single living thing in this area, besides me and you."

"If this is your new home, then you'll need a guide to show you around. Teach you the way. But that person will NOT be me." He felt bad. On one side, he wanted to do anything he could to help the boy. But the flip side to that was the boy aggravated him.

"Partially because I have no clue where we really are, I just kinda wandered out here." It was only about half of a lie. He had just wandered out there. "You have a name, kid?"

Yuri ignored it.

"MM-my n-name I-is Yuri...j-just Yuri" Yuri's stuttering problem began to show.

He slowly got back up.

And put his mask on...

"I-im afraid"

The stuttering was getting worse, irking Matteus more and more. "Yuri, huh? I like that name." He smiled at Yuri, trying to be friendly. "My name is Matteus."

Yuri got up and put his mask back on. "There's no need to be afraid, Yuri. I won't hurt you... and the voices CAN'T hurt you." Matteus paused, contemplating what he had just said. "The voices can't hurt you unless you let them." It was his attempt at motivating the boy, bringing him out of the shell so to speak.

"Why don't we hit the town and get out of this creepy courtyard?" Matteus left the smile on his face, hoping that Yuri would quickly warm up to him.

when the man asked if he wanted to go away from the courtyard Yuri reluctantly agreed.

"O-ok Matteus" he said before looking around one last time.

"Off we go then." Matteus lead the way, taking the only exit he had seen out of the courtyard. The exit had also doubled as their entrance.

He turned around, making absolutely sure that Yuri was still close behind. "Don't get lost." The last thing that anybody needed was to have a psychopath on the loose.

Matteus turned again, walking towards a crowd of people. It was a market place, at least that's what Matteus had figured it was. Trying to pass the time and occupy Yuri's mind in place of the voices, Matteus spoke up. "What'd you do before you woke up here?"

"O-ok..." Yuri said before following him. They reached the market area...

"So what did you do before you woke up here?" Matteus asked.

'You are nothing!'

"B-before I woke up? I-i remember stabbing my parents, their scream...their frozen faces...after that I passed out..and woke up here." Yuri said.

He walked to a vendor and grabbed two exotic pieces of fruit without paying.

He hoped the man didn't notice...

"HHere" he gave one of the exotic fruits to him.

Matteus kept an eye on Yuri as they walked. He explained to Matteus that all he remembered was killing his parents. His generally bright face turned into a frown, unsure how to respond to that being brought up.

Yuri walked over to a vendor, snatching two pieces of fruit without paying. Matteus chuckled. The masked boy handed one of the fruits over. The gesture had warmed Matteus' heart, instantly making him forget about the boy murdering his parents. His teeth crunched down as he took a bite of the fruit. "Thank you, Yuri."

They continued to walk. "So, these voices are in your head right? Do they sound like anyone you know? Maybe someone who had something strongly against your parents?" Matteus questioned the boy, trying not to dig under his skin. "I mean, you seem fairly nice to me."

Yuri smiled when the man said thank you.

"TThe voices are in m-my head...but the man who speaks is real." He said referring to the shadow man.

"My parents beat me when I was younger..." he said before taking his mask off and putting it on to his belt.

He took a bite out of his fruit and smiled.

Yuri could tell the voices were angry.
