"Politics, my love." He said with a grin. "Politics."

It's what mattered, it's what everyone cared about. Eventually the SIth would come for Borleias, eventually they would take the planet. It was an inevitability, one that Soliael knew would come in the end. Of course there was a chance he intended to be prepared for it. Borleias was not valuable, at least not military. It was not a fortress world nor was it filled with resources. About the only thing it could be used for was a staging area to head to the core, other then that it was a simple tourist destination.

"I know the government well enough that I can manipulate the system, and when the Sith come, I'll negotiate our world to be free of Sith. Borleias isn't valuable, not traditionally anyway. I'm confident I can twist the situation so they stay away, keep no military presence and allow Borleias free reign. Turn it into a vacation spot away from the Sith...within Sith Territory." It was a what if situation, but one that would be appealing to those within the Sith Government.

Of course, it would be helped by certain influences he still maintained.

Politics.

Kira's nose gave a slight crinkle of distaste. It was a subject she wasn't too skilled or keen on, well to the degree Devin had. She knew of his past as the former false God, Neth. How he conducted himself rather well and impressively as a Senator too. Oh, Kira had her own methods of interesting negotiation tactics, but they were nothing compared to the skills her husband portrayed.

"Well that's one method," she said, having to agree that it was a good idea. If the One Sith could be reasonable. She had a broken nose that said otherwise; although to be fair, that was just one particular Sith. If anything, the Jedi Master had the uncanny ability to treat others as individuals instead of blanketing them all due to her previous experiences.

The fact she was married to the grandson of Darth Moridin was ample proof of that.

"That's only if they come here right?" or would he act proactively?

[member="Kira Talith"]

"Of course. If they don't come, no reason to negotiate anything." He shrugged. "I just want to be prepared."

That was the important thing, preparation. "In the meantime, we'll have to find me a new hobby."

He waggled his eyebrows at her.

Since her injury Soliael had mostly managed to keep his hands off of his wife. Above all he wanted her to get better, and with...vigorous activity, that was rather difficult. So far he'd managed, but as she got better and the more she sunbathed it became more difficult. Of course eventually he would give in, but the hope was that she would be better by then.

"You mean like whittling?"

Kira would suggest with an ample amount of mock innocence. To add insult to injury, the woman arched her arms up over her head and gave a mighty stretch.

"Finish up that rocker set maybe?" she added to her suggestion, chuckling as she would flop back onto her seat, propping up her feet to rest against his thighs. One toe would prod him against his ribs.

"I always did like it when you worked with your hands." oh that sly grin held the devil in it. Said devil was a blonde Minx who was married to the man seriously considering the merits of being a thoughtful husband.

[member="Kira Talith"]

"I imagine you do." Soliael said with a rather disapproving look on his face. "But I was thinking something more relaxing."

He looked out towards the ocean, jerking to the side slightly as she poked his ribs. "Maybe fishing."

It really didn't get much more boring then fishing. Soliael hated fishing. It was one of the most boring and detestable things that could be done. It was a simple waste of time, especially for him. He could use the force to lift thousands of fish out of the ocean at the same time, why the hell would he want to sit on the side of a boat and put a piece of string into the water to wait for them to come to him? It made no sense, yet that was all the other men in the villages wanted to do.

Horrid really.

"Fishing!" Kira said with incredulous amusement. Now that was hilarity in and of itself. With a sly grin, she brought herself back up to her knees, and with the Jeco-like reflexes of a woman on a mission, she draped herself over her beloved.

"Well I imagine we can do some fishing." her arms went wrapping around his shoulders, and a mischievous rub of the tip of her nose came next against his.

"Or other far more relaxing things." her voice fell an octave, and she came a bit closer. "Like..." baited breath and then the sly minx continued. "... cooking?"

"I'm hungry."

[member="Kira Talith"]

He made a face.

Soliael hadn't expected Kira to be so enthused about fishing, though honestly he should have seen it coming. His wife was more then happy to do nine out of ten things, even happier to go along with whatever her husband wanted. Normally that was advantageous for him, but in this situation...well he really didn't want to go fishing. His lips turned into something of a half broken, half forced smile.

"I'll think about fishing." No he wouldn't. "Cooking I can do."

That was something he already did on most nights, mostly because he was the better cook. "But I'm thinking of maybe taking up parasailing, we do live in the tropics after all."

That wasn't true either, but he wanted to see her reaction.

"For someone who doesn't want to do some vigorous activity," Kira would start with a notable amount of amusement, sliding her face and a series of kisses across Soliael's jaw towards his neck. They were short affectionate pecks, meant to be silly rather than inviting.

"You sure want to see me wipe out!" she teased, nuzzling the curve of his neck before placing one last kiss right over his jugular. A tight snuggle and cinch of her arms would draw him closer into her embrace. She liked this. Just holding him. Feeling him close. The thud of his heartbeat. The rise and fall of his chest with every breath he took.

Living, breathing, testimony that he was there. And hers.

"Or just see me in a tiny bikini." she teased.

[member="Kira Talith"]

He raised an eyebrow.

That would be a sight to behold, but not what he had had in mind. "Who said anything about you?"

Soliael's voice was teasing of course, ninety eight percent of the time when Soliael did something he involved her in some way. Not doing so would be strange, even as a Senator Kira had managed to duck into his office at times and help with arguments. In fact she had acted a pseudo-secretary at times, even dressing up for the part, though he suspected that wasn't just to help him around the office...though there had been plenty of helping.

"You're confined to the house, remember?" He teased further. "No going beyond ten feet."

He pointed towards a line in the sand that had been coincidentally drawn there by a nudge of the force.

"And what if I were to cross it?" there came that sly grin again, and she began to slowly pull herself from Soliael's grasp. That is, until his hands firmly settled upon twin cheeks to lock her down.

"Tsk tsk, what if I want a little swim?!" she would counter, laughter in her eyes as she attempted to wiggle out of his grasp. It was a playful banter, no real physical strain behind it. She was still recuperating, but the Lorrdian Jedi Master wasn't the sort to stay still. She became fretful of she was in one location for too long.

"Come on... it can get dreadfully boring without even the kids here. Much the less if you won't play along." she joked, bopping the tip of his nose with her finger.

[member="Kira Talith"]

"Ugh." He made the mock noise, something he seemed to be doing often. "Perhaps if you're supervised..."

Soliael trailed off, though beneath his joking there was a hint of seriousness. He of course would never keep Kira confined, but he was still concerned. She had been hurt, seriously hurt. If it hadn't been for Micah he very well might have lost his wife, and that thought...that thought pained him in a way that could not be explained or joked about. He frowned for half a second, then shifted his grip on her, sliding his arms beneath her and scooping her up and out of the chair.

"Well, come on. Let's go for that swim." With a sudden burst of speed Soliael bounded from the balcony and hopped into the sands below, rushing towards the ocean.

She felt his hesitation. His worry. The concern over her life as he struggled with the desire to make her happy. Kira knew that it had hit him hard what had happened, and she couldn't fault him for that. Had the situations been reversed; had it happened just like it did back on Geonosis, she'd be beside herself with worry and doing the same as he was now.

But they couldn't be too careful. Life was precious, and while she did need her time to heal, she also didn't want to see Sol fretting about her. A squeal of laughter came bubbling from the Lorrdian as they flew over the balcony, crashing into the sand feet first. She clung to him tightly, curving her face into the crook of his neck. Her laughter surrounded them, and the salt spray of the ocean along with the scent of the sea came roaring with the crash of the waves.

"I'm not even in a suit yet!" she gave a mock protest, but that didn't stop Soliael. Not like clothing ever was an issue when it came to taking a swim.

"GAH!" water splashed, soaking through her shorts and splattering across her tank top.

This was enough for Soliael.
He didn't need the Senate.
He didn't need power.
He did not even need godhood.
The man who had once called himself a god. The man who had once claimed dominion over a thousands worlds, was perfectly content with dunking his wife into the ocean.

Things had become less complicated as of late, or perhaps more complicated, it really depended on who you asked. For Soliael things had become a lot more simple within the past month or so. He had quiet his job as a Senator, returned to his home on Borleias, and had taken up whittling once again...though he'd promptly quit once he remembered how god awful it truly was. For him, things had slowed down once more, life was less hectic and things had simply become a crawl once more.
Truthfully, he found that he preferred it this way.

Kira had ways to keep herself busy of course, sometimes with the Jedi Order and sometimes doing simple philanthropic work on Borleias or elsewhere, but the two of them still spent the majority of their time together. The kids were out of the house, even Kaili had found her own little island to live on not too far from home. Everything seemed to be going swimmingly. Micah and Aela were with the Alliance, Maleah was exploring, and everyone was...well if not happy they were at least content with their place.

Soliael found peace in that, though he, like every parent, worried about his children. The tattoos helped with that of course, the signals that they carried upon their bodies. He often thought about what would happen if they ever had to be used, what he would do. He remembered Contruum still, how he had broken that Sith, how he had nearly broken himself. There was still a tinge of regret towards his actions there, even his wife didn't know the full story, how he had nearly shattered the ring and torn the woman into a million pieces. It was not a pretty thought, and it was a show of just how many of his old tendencies still carried through him, albeit in only the most extreme of times.

Perhaps that was why he preferred the peace and quiet of his home.

His thumbed pressed against the ring on his finger, slowly twisting it as if in contemplation. He smiled as his other palm came up, pressing open the doors to the balcony to find his wife standing there. Her hair flowed slowly in the winds, her robe tightly tied around her waist.

With a silent, almost unheard step Soliael came up behind her. His hands slowly slid around her, palms slipping about her stomach as he slowly lifted her back from the railing and against himself, pulling her tight against his torso and burying the scruff of his beard into the revealed skin of her shoulder. He tickled the hair along her collarbone and around her neck until finally pressing a kiss against her jaw and finally whispering in her ear. "Good morning, Mrs. Talith."

Kira gave a giddy smile, feeling the warmth and nuzzle of her husband's kiss. Elation ran over her, her hands following suit over his own as he tugged her into an embrace. Their size difference was still quite comical, but it suited them fine. Kira never felt as safe as she did within [member="Soliael Devin Talith"] 's arms.

"Mmm... good morning Mister Talith." she'd grin out with an upturned curve of her lip, Her right hand came up, finding his jaw and feeling the soft bristle of his thick beard. That hand would press him closer, her cheek rubbing his own. The sound of waves crashing upon the rocks echoed up at them, misting them with salt spray. She turned within his embrace, moving up in tippy-toes to wrap her arms around him. He was well over a full head taller than her, but that left her at the perfect spot to cuddle against him. Or in this case, bring her lips up to his to kiss him in greeting.

"H-eyyy." she murmured softly, snuggling in close. "You doing okay?"

[member="Kira Talith"]

"Fine." Soliael said truthfully. There wasn't really anything pressuring him or pushing at him, at least not anymore. Kira was safe now, mostly, and his kids, while in Danger, were trained well enough that he didn't have to constantly be tense. He frowned slightly for a moment though, shifting slightly as he looked passed her and towards the ocean. He felt an urge rise within him as he heard the lapping waves on the sands, water pressing against the beach before slowly dragging just a bit of it away to the sea.

He mused for a moment, lightly squeezing her after she planted a kiss on his lips.

"We should go somewhere." The once False God said suddenly. "Somewhere new."

They had both done a lot of traveling in their time, Soliael more than Kira, but they had each seen their fare share of the galaxy.

Yet now there was an urge within him, a small pressure point that he couldn't quite identify. Perhaps it was the thought of his kids growing and moving about the galaxy, the idea that the new generation was out there doing stuff while he sat here and did nothing. Yet why was he doing nothing? To keep Kira safe? To ensure that she was okay and didn't exert herself too much? Well they didn't have to be on Borleias for that. They were rich, he was powerful, and both of them were skilled enough to survive anywhere.

So why not go...everywhere.

He had a curious distant look in his cadmium of his eyes. Both of her arms went looping over his shoulders, using his strength to help her pick herself up a bit. Tipping her head back, the long length of her blonde hair went cascading down her shoulders. A quirky grin went curving up her lips, and she pressed another loving kiss along his jaw.

"Mmm... traveling? I like to travel. Somewhere new is nice." she told him, snuggling close. A small half up push, and she sat herself on top of the railing, allowing her to meet Devin's gaze at eye level at that. Both hands came up to cup his face, which she adoringly gave another brush of her lips along his right cheek.

"We could go visit Esmae and Draith," she suggested. They actually never been in Galactic Alliance territory, and they could stop by and see how their two children were doing.

"Orrr..." she began a slight sway, rocking him along as she mulled aloud, bringing her legs up to wrap around his waist and tug him close. There were still puckered and thin pink scars that laced up from her ankles to her thighs. Remnants of what Nemene had done to her in the past. They matched those that marred her lower belly, along with the proud little stretch marks from four pregnancies. They didn't bother her.

That was a different life.

"Did you want to go poke about and see where Karyi is at?"

[member="Kira Talith"]

Soliael shook his head. "No no, not what I meant."

Oh he wanted to see his children of course, he loved them, but...at this point they had their own lives to live. Even the youngest of them was now growing up. She had her own business, was making money away from the family, she was doing well. Wasn't that what they had wanted? That their kids were independent? Grown? Older? It allowed them to be alone again, to have the house to themselves. Yet the advantages should have been more than that, were more than that. They had a free hand, they could do anything.

"Esmae, Draith, Nohei, Karyi, they all have their own lives, they have things to do and things that they want to do." He gripped her a bit tighter. "They have their own lives to lead, and I think they're happy leading them, even if some of them are a bit stressed at times. They don't need us to barge in and intrude on them, take charge and annoy them. I think...I think it's time we do something for ourselves again, take our break from being parents and just live a little."

Oh he wasn't suggesting abandoning his kids, never, they still had their tattoos and Soliael would come running if they needed it.

Yet perhaps it was time for Kira and Soliael to back off a bit, for them to let their kids be adults and...have a little fun. He smiled slightly, kissing her forehead and waggling his eyebrows slightly.

Live a little.

It was actually a bit amusing thinking back on it. Ever since they began their courtship, they never really had time for themselves. Her responsibilities with the Jedi Order kept her on Ossus, while Devin’s had originally kept him on Exocron as Neth the Keeper. After Kira became sick, her time had been spent recuperating at the home he had bought for her. In those short months after, they were married, and before they knew it Aela came into their lives.

From one whirlwind to the next. Kira didn’t mind it. She enjoyed her life and what she had with her family, but actually having time with Devin? All to herself?

Well now… This was something that was looking more and more her type of gig.

His waggle of his eyebrows would prompt her own devilish twinkle in her aquamarine eyes. They were a hue reminiscent to the ocean at her back, a bright oceanic blue that still glimmered with youthful energy. It didn’t matter how old she was, Kira was a constant bubbly fluff of energy.

“...well now…” she began, this time letting her hands start to wander over her husband’s chest. Over twenty years with him, and she had to say, he hadn’t aged a day. A slight tug of his shirt would follow along with her mischevious grin.

“That sounds like something we’d both enjoy…” a soft chuckle would follow. “Hmm… we haven’t taken your ship out for a while… maybe travel the unknown regions?” It was relatively quiet there, and Kira hadn’t actually had a chance to go there.

“Or the wild regions?”

[member="Kira Talith"]

"The Rishi Maze." Soliael said with a grin. It was someplace that neither of them had been to before, a place that most people hadn't been to before, in fact. There were things to see, places to explore, and above all, mystery that one could really only dream of. There was an edge to the thought, a new kind of fun. The two of them knew the galaxy well, Soliael having been the god of knowledge of Moross and Kira having been a Jedi Investigator.

Even the outer rim, even wild space was known to the two of them, at least in part.

The RIshi Maze though...that was something entirely new.

"Neither of us have been there." Soliael began with some excitement in his tone. "Neither of us know a lick about it, not the planets, not the systems, nothing at all. We can't cheat our way through it with the holo-net, we can't ask someone, it will just be...new. Everything we find, everything we see will be completely and utterly new. If we run into trouble we'll be the ones to solve it, and if we get lost we'll have to find our way out."

He of course didn't need to mention that if they really got lost he could always just blink them away. The Aing-Tii's technique for folding the very fabric of space hardly had limits, and as long as Soliael had energy and focus to use the technique both Kira and he would always be perfectly safe. That was something that they both knew so it wasn't really worth mentioning. "Just you and me."
