Vallory stood in one of the large forests of Kashyyyk. Stardust, her master had brought her here for training, at least she thought it would be for training. Why else? Draped over her was a dark grey cloak, to protect from the sun. It tended to blister her skin, and that was not something that was so fun. Standing by one of the large wroshyr trees, which gave lots of shade, Vallory kept an eye out. She had heard of just how dangerous the forest floor could be. Creatures, predators, wild wookiees that would rather rip a visitor limb from limb...

"What a delightful place this is, right?" she asked to Star, leaning against the wood.

Stardust stood upon a root as she looked over the forest, the humid air created a laying of condensation on her face as she wiped her forehead. Kashyyk held a lot of memory for stardust unfortunately mixed ones. Here she had lost he rorginal legs sliced off by a Sith, here she had realized under ra vizlsa the mandalorians were not her friends. Stardust turned towards her apprentice and gave a smile as she nodded

it holds a certain beauty, one that is a mix of risk and peace, however today sight seeing can wait for more training shall be done. Today we will work on saber combat, even if I see you as more of a strike and retreat type you might need to hold out

Stardust produced a training saver, she tossed it towards vallory

I will go out and hide, your goal is to find me and land a blow on me...if you can you win

With that she shrunk her signature down and then started off deep into the forest

Vallory walked around on the spot, skipping about a bit before her master [member="Stardust Australis Skirae"] spoke up. She stopped on the spot where she was, looking up to the Twi'Lek force user. So she was right, this was for training. She caught the training saber, and activated it. Slowly moving it through the air to test out it's weight and such. It wouldn't do much against another, being a training saber. It would still pack a bit of a shock, though.

Stardust headed off into the forest. To make it fair, Vallory waited on the spot. But she had more than the force. Being flexible and light weight, she could traverse across the trees with ease, leaping from one tree trunk to another. Then, there was her senses. She could smell further, hear more. With these, she gave chase once having waited.

Stardust knew her apprentice had other tools to be able to hunt her, certainly it would make for a fun little game a way to truly test her skills and stardust was not going to make it easy at all. About ten minutes later she sent the signal for the hunt to begin, stardust had made it to the thicket part of the forest enough she could almost blend into the vegetation

Crouching low she waited, she hoped indeed to see her apprentices skils

Vallory got the signal, the hunt had begun. She became a predator, hunting her prey. Sniffing at the air, listening to the wind. She was able to leap from trunk to trunk, gliding through the air. Back and forth, while observing down low. Reaching out with the force, Vallory was having no luck so far. There were too many scents, and the forest so quiet. This planet, no this area alone was filled with life. It blocked out anything that could lead her to [member="Stardust Australis Skirae"].

This was a true test for her apprentice, oddly enough stardust actually would blend into the dense green foliage. Around the sounds of distant birds could be heard moving disturbed from their resting state, meanwhile stardust grinned hoping her apprentice would take notice as she started moving off again

Vallory heard birds. Either a predator disturbed them...or something else. She headed that way...then paused. What if this was a trap? Vallory was meant to strike her master, but it was possible that [member="Stardust Australis Skirae"] could do the same to her. She kept back, scanning over the environment. She had to play this smart. So, she reached out with the force, trying to sense life forms. Predators here were usually pack hunters. If she found a lone one, there was a chance...of course, Vallory didn't know some could hide this presence.

She could feel her apprentice moving closer then stop, this brought a chuckle to the air, smart girl playing it safe. However out on the forest two vornsk hunted its prey...how they got there was a mystery however they hunted a new prey

They jumped out and got on either side of her growling and snapping at the girl, their intent was obvious

Vallory could sense many things. And there were two presences that caught her off guard, two strong with the force. Stronger than a normal creature...And soon she found out. Two beasts leaped forth from the brush. Snarling. She did not know what these creatures were exactly, but one thing was obvious. She was to be their next meal. Readying the training saber, she spun it in hand. But really, what was a training saber to do?

"Star, if you can hear me, this better be part of the test!" Or she would be most unhappy with her current situation.

Star felt through the force something, however she disnt react at all merely settling upon the grass and dirt. Focusing on the force around her feeling several creatures moving around her and away along with some smaller lifeforms darting about beneath bushes, at first she ignored her comm going off, but the urgency in her voice made her eyes open as she stood

what is going on vallory?

Her feet moved quickly across the ground, while yes she shouldn't baby her apprentice she coupdbt teach a dead or crippled person

Vallory rolled to the side as one came at her. The other had begun circling, and then went for her as she recovered from her roll. Getting down low, it soared over. The beasts continued to make circles around her. And then she heard comms as Vallory made another dodge from them. "Star...beasts! Some kind of...beasts!" She dodged more as they continued to try and pounce. One of them managed to catch her, knocking her down. "Stardust! Help would...be nice!"

feth, hold on until I get there!

Stardust let her signature be felt again, activated her sabers she ran through the forest ground and jumped up as she took to the tops to make her way towards vallory. Arriving one turned to stardust and roared at her and charged, but was stupid enough to jump at star as she ducked and spun slicing its underbelly open as it cried out. Stardust then tossed a saber to vallory

let this one fighting you be a test! Do not fear it! For with the force you have power, and with the force let none stop you

One leaped upon Vallory, snapping at her face with a savage hunger for flesh. She recoiled away, turning so none of it's spit got all over in her face. "Get...off!" she shouted as she Force pushed it away, sending it flying. With her training saber at the ready, she cut at the other. It would feel no more than a burn, as the power of the training saber was not as strong as a true lightsaber. It yelped, backing off. The one she had force pushed was already getting up, and now it was going at [member="Stardust Australis Skirae"]. That left Vallory with just one. Hissing back as it growled, she readied herself.

The Vornsk lunged, she spun out of the way and delivered a blow to it's leg. It flipped over, yet recovered quickly to go at her again. This time it circled her, before going in again. But it pounced to the side, before doing so again at her. The move caught her by surprise as it grabbed onto her saber hand. She shouted in agony, hitting it's snout with her other hand. And then she saw as Stardust threw one of her own sabers to her. She caught it and put the saber end to the beasts neck and activated. It gave a quick yelp.

She deactivated her saber and drew her sword nova letting the sound of a blade being drawn echo out as she gave it a spin and stood tall letting her force signature out stronger then before. The vornsk growled and snapped at her as stardust jumped back and swung at the beast as it ducked and ran forward slamming it her and pinned her down. It snapped at her face as stardust kept it held back, inhaling she growled herself and the air grew warm as she spat fire out right into its face. Yelping and crystal of pain came from the beast as she brough her sword up and swung down slicing it clean through the head

Then a more human cry of pain hit her ears, she turned seeing the beast having vallorys hand in its mouth, star rushed over as she put her sword away and drew her saber as she let a cry of war out and sliced down right at the start of the neck

Vallory watched as the beast fell, both from the wound she inflicted and [member="Stardust Australis Skirae"]'s strike to it's neck. She dropped the saber, and held her injured arm in hand. "They have more bite than bark..." she hissed in pain with an attempt of humor. The bite marks had been rather deep, and blood seeped from the wound to the ground. Her skin punctured and slightly torn as the creature had been pulling back as it bit down. Vallory looked about, just in case there were more.

"Always getting hurt, aren't I?" Her race was fragile but this took it to a whole new level. Her bones in her arm ached, the powerful jaws of the creature having been crunching down on them.

She reached a hand out and called her saber back to her hand, then her attention was immediately to her apprentice growing as she looked her hand over and sighed

my usual ways of teaching are rough....hmmm lets get you back to the ship and get a bacta wrap on that and head back...but you did well my apprentice you did not lock up in fear...even if your hurt in my eyes I consider this training session a success

Her eyes looked into vallorys as she gave a smile and patted her shoulder gently and then took a breath leading the girl to the ship

its come to my attention that I must learn a new way to teach you in order to teach you, we will be doing more training at my house and....I believe a special trip after you heal is in play

The hatched open and star led he rup into the ship

Vallory tested her hand. A bacta wrap sounded nice, but then she drew her hand back. "No, no this way of training is fine. I can catch up...I don't need anything special, trust me" she assured. If Vallory could not prove herself to her master, then what could she do? Though, she was interested in this idea. On they went towards the ship, and her arm still dripped of blood. Her arm still ached, as if her bones had just been gripped tightly in a sharp vice. Up to the ship they went, and up the ramp.

"What...what is this special trip?" she asked as she took a seat aboard the ship, still holding her arm as she waited for Stardust to return with bacta.

She wanted to scold her a bit but....as she took in the words she found herself listening to her own younger voice determined to prove herself as she simply chuckled and came back taking her arm gently and began wrapping it up

I swear you keep reminding me of myself when i was younger!

She finished wrapping and took a seat as she leaned forward

I believe....you've proved enough to more that you'll stay my apprentice, that you have the determination to see through my training and learn....I can see your capable with a saber therefore or next trip will be ilum

Vallory couldn't help but blush at that. Reminded Stardust of her younger self? Was that a good thing or a bad thing? She didn't really know. "We've all been young. I may have lived a long life but I...still retain that childlike wonder." It was sad to have seen some of her wonder go, when she had heard of her hero and what had happened. Even now, she knew not what was happening with them. And she had a sad smile.

"Well good...you make a good master. My last master never taught me much. And getting my own saber...how is that like?" she asked, that childlike curiosity and wonder sparking up once more in her eyes.

heh...even I retain that might not show it much but its there if you dont have it then...well soemtimes it's good sometime it isnt but you well I say it suits you

Stardust looked out to what she could see of the jungle, only time she felt that child like wonder was every time she saw her daughter...never thought she would reach that far in life or be this old but it was everything she wanted

Then came the question, stardust herself was never taken to get a crystal she was simply given the crystal, chewing on the inside of her cheek she thought for a moment

now I've never done it myself heh I was more less given a crystal way like...3 decades ago...but if what I've read is correct the proper way is you'll go into a cave alone...whatever happens to lead you to it well...you will follow your training for the crystal will call out to you through the force
