Walks of Life

A hand? Looks like you've got a whole body. Faye thought, before opting to keep the joke to herself. While she had always maintained a playful, nonserious tone to her conversations, the teenage slicer had decided not to this time. Likely, it was the intimidating appearance of [member="Mordecai Zambrano"] or maybe it was just the serious subject they were discussing. It was not often that a teenager puts their trust in a man twice their age in a bar, and then to travel with him. But a sensation in the back of her mind had told her to trust the man.

"Why were you there?" It was an interesting question. Faye pondered for a split second before giving another one of her playful shrugs, "I'm new to the planet and was looking to make some friends." It was a simple enough answer, but didn't give away too much. If she had given away too much or two little, only more questions would have arised from it. If she had said she was only there for a drink, then the Sith Lord would've known that was a lie. Faye had just told him she didn't drink. And the other side of the spectrum, she had chosen not to even bring up. That she was on Antecedent because of the disfavor she developed in the Nar Shaddaa underworld. Pissing off the wrong people can have dire effects on Nar Shaddaa, and it was best to keep that obscure knowledge, for now.

There was still so much that Faye didn't know, even about the allegiance between Sith and Ravens. Much of her life, the One Sith were little more than myth. The fabled territory they held was on the exact opposite of Nar Shaddaa, and that gave her little reason to even worry about their existence. If one would've told her two years ago that she would be walking among the likes of Sith and higher tiered gangsters, she would've told them to get off the spice.

Faye's eyes looked straight ahead, curious of where exactly they were heading.

Making friends, huh?

Considering she was still on Antecedent, it didn't look like she had found any worth knowing. Besides himself, of course, Mordecai had to admit that he didn't foresee anyone else offering the chance of a lifetime for this downtrodden but genuinely potential-girl. The pair walked through the streets with the grace of father and daughter or elder brother and sister. Mordecai's relationships with those close to him took on more familiar roles rather than the rigid order and discipline that his soldiers displayed.

"We're here," he waved a bored hand at the starport, "Follow me."

And they were off once again, slowly and nimbly weaving their way past merchants shouting about their wares, shady individuals, and the rest of the scrum-ridden people of this world. While it may have looked beautiful and full of hope, promise, and prosperity, it was always the massive mobs of the lower classes to provide for those lucky few who had been blessed with top spots. Soon enough, though, the pair made it to hangar bay Cresh Niner without so much as a smudge on their clothes or a missing wallet.

The Dragon Lord keyed in his code and the bay opened to reveal a cargo freighter. It was always hard to come here unnoticed and arriving as in a ship like this was the best way to remain undetected.

"Her name's the Firebird. She's a piece of crap and is held together by rigging tape, chewing gum, and pure will." Mordecai exhaled through his nose and neared the vessel, rubbing a hand across its mostly-steel flank. "No crew inside besides a few droids to keep it in the air. Got anything you need to grab before we go?"

The girl chuckled slightly at the arrival of the ship, not so much for the ship itself, but rather the idea of it. She had expected someone of [member="Mordecai Zambrano"] 's supposed infamy to pilot something a bit less...robust. "I've lived on Nar Shaddaa, I've seen people get away with worse." She rubbed her chin, quieting down to a silence.

Her eyes looked upon it once more, and she felt a knot in her stomach form. Stepping onto this ship would be the next step into her life, but was it the life she wanted? Ideally, a good mother would've taught their kid to never accept a ride from a stranger, but good parenting was a luxury that Faye never experienced. Still, she felt uncertain now.

Faye peered up to the man one more time before looking at the ramp of the ship. The teenager inhaled deeply and contemplated, before speaking. "Are you sure I am the one you were looking for?" She asked. It was a rather absurd question, since she had felt those faint tremors in the Force that he had mentioned. Faye just wanted certainty, so much of her life had been driving by the unknown.
