Kad Tor
Hammer of Enceri
Kad shook his head at the offer. It wasn't that he didn't want to see the memorial which was set up, "I've already had too much to drink today. Don't need something pushing me back to the bottle yet..."
He was a drunk, but an honest drunk. Kad needed to see the memorial and pay his respects, but he knew it was going to push him over the edge. While there was alcohol on his breath, he was sober, and wasn't about to get completely inibriated this early in the day. Besides, Kad figured Briika didn't want him around her child if he wasn't completely dry.
The main building of the homestead seemed large for what Kad was used to. He smiled. It seemed Manda'lor took care of his sister well, though he was bitter about the fact no one had attempted to find him. They were family, but it seemed as though they had drifted. It could be that was the alcohol talking to him.
"No caf," he said, but not before it was put in front of him. It was likely Briika's way of telling he didn't seem as sober as he thought. Kad sighed and took a drink. He sat at the table and just stared into the mug for a while. He was lost in his thoughts. The events of the past couple of days played in his mind, especially the last night with Lizzy. His lady friend, Kad just nodded. She could have been more than that if she wanted, but this life, the one he was seeing around him, it wasn't what she wanted.
His eyes finally peeked up from the dark liquid which held his reflection. "Lizzy actually," Kad said wirh a small smirk, "she told me I need to figure out who I am. She wasn't going to ask me to stay, and I wasn't going to ask her to come with me. The way that whole conversation ended, I kinda feel like a di'kut for leaving her there, but she's right. I am lost. I don't know who I am anymore..."
It was hard for Kad to admit that to his sister, but if anyone would understand, it was going to be her.
