Private Wasn't Supposed to Happen

Kade looked to the droid sympathetically. "Don't worry. I know it's weird to have a stranger fixing you up. I'll be quick." Kade said reassuringly. The teen began removing the damaged wheels on the droid's functioning leg, then he installed the salvaged wheels.

Kade took a second to look over to Kahlil. "I hope they do as well. Yet I have a feeling it might take more action." Kade commented.

He then picked up the replacement leg and turned back to the droid, placing the leg in its socket. Kade then began to secure it in place.

"So what are your plans after I finish here?" Kade asked the man as he continued to work on the droid.

R6 seemed far more relaxed once it's body could move again. A trill of excited and happy beeps as it starts to roll around again. Kahlil laughs a bit, seeming very pleased by what happened as he looks between the droid and Kade Kade with an approving nod. "You're really good at this. I'm surprised you can't make more money off of these sort of repairs."

He pauses at the next question, rubbing the back of his head in thought. He hadn't really figured out what to do next. "Probably get my ship back. OR whats left of it. Then get it repaired and head off to keep trying to help folks where I can." Another pause. "And to figure out how to stop the Sith Emperor from plunging the galaxy into darkness."

Kade smiled as he wiped grease off his hands. The droid seemed very excited that it was able to move freely again.

"There you go buddy!" Kade said as he watched R6 roll around. He turned his attention to Kahlil when the man praised his work.

"Thanks! That means a lot, I don't often get praised for the work I do." He paused and shrugged his shoulders. "Then again I don't really fix droids for praises and credits. For me its more about the fun. As long as I can do what I love, everything else doesn't matter." Kade continued with a warm smile.

Kade stood up and looked to Kahlil sympathetically.

"If I knew how repair ships, I'd offer to help, sadly my knowledge only is to the extent of droids." Kade said. He smiled again.

"it seems like you have a rough road to walk my friend. Sounds like you're up against the galaxy itself. But I know you'll do fine, you seem to have the legendary courage the Jedi are known for...and y'know a good heart." He paused. "Just remember you aren't alone."

"Ah, you'd be surprised how much overlap between fixing a ship and a droid." Kahlil chuckles a bit, glancing to Kade Kade once more. Then he stands straight and motions to a stool close by.

"Do what I did earlier." The Epicanthix didn't explain anything further, just watching the teen curiously. R6 rolls off to a nearby terminal. Probably ruined, but the droid goes to figure out how to make it work.

"Oh wow I had no clue." Kade said giving Kahlil a shocked look. The teen's look of suprise only lasted for a second as Kahlil stood up straighter and motioned to the stool, instructing him to do what the man had done earlier. Kade cocked an eyebrow as a look of genuine disbelief crossed his face.

"You mean use the force?" He scoffed. Letting out a dry chuckle. "You don't expect me to believe that do you? A person like me? I don't buy it." Kade said skeptically.

"One of the things I learned from necessity is to sense someones connection to the Force. You don't have to hide it, if you can. If you can't well. You probably have without knowing." Kahlil kept a patient smile on his face as he watched Kade Kade , curiously so. If he was correct, the boy should have some connection.

Kade sighed. What did he have to lose by trying? Absolutely nothing. The teen looked from Kahlil to the stool, then back to Kahlil.

"Alright, I'll give it a shot." Kade closed is eyes and sat in silence for a moment. Focusing on his senses to see if there was any feeling he hadn't noticed before, all the while replaying the moment when Kahlil moved the stool with the force.

Soon enough Kade felt it, a thing that could only be described as intangible. The teen exhaled and opened his eyes slowly, then looked at the stool: picturing it suspended off the ground. Within moments the stool rose slowly.

"I can hardly believe it...Wow." Kade beamed. "So this is the Force, I've only heard stories..."

Kahlil kept quiet as he watched Kade Kade , more curious on if it would work or not. When it did he couldn't help but smile. His instincts were right. He claps with approval as he stands up. "Haha! You can do it. I was right." He beams himself, nodding to the teen.

"With that in mind, would you like to join me? I can teach you how to fix a ship, and how to use the Force. Your want to help people would be greatly improved when you can travel the galaxy. And the Force doesn't hurt."

Kade slowly let the stool lower to the floor as Kahlil made a proposition to the teen; which immediately meet the man's eyes. Join him? Help people around the galaxy, learn how to fix ships, and be taught how to use the force? Kade didnt know what to say.

The teen was silent for a moment before finally clearing his throat and beginning to speak.

"That's an amazing offer, I'd be stupid to turn that down." Kade smiled as he looked down to his hands, still amazed that he has the ability to use the Force.

"But I have a condition: I have to be able to come back to Denon when I'm needed. There's too much corruption here to just let it be." Kade frowned. He then looked back up to Kahlil and smiled.

"If that's fine, then you can count me in."

"I wouldn't ask you to abandon your home. This training I offer will help you help this world." Kahlil offered his hand to Kade Kade to shake and finalize the deal. Though he paused, and laughed nervously. "But first, I need to get The Bastion back and repaired. Is there a place around here that ships get put to be salvaged and such?"

Kade shook his hand. Then thought for a moment. "Then I am glad. The idea of leaving this place to the wolves...pains me." Kade said. Kahlil then asked if the teen knew any places that had ships for salvage. Kade scratched his head.

"Sadly I am not too sure...wait... there actually may be one not too far... kinda. The only problem is that the owner is a bit of a jerk." Kade grinned. He looked over to Kahlil and nodded.

"Should we head over? He has a few ships grounded behind his shop." Kade said.

Kahlil Noble Kahlil Noble

"Owner's a bit of a jerk? That's not too bad. Better then cutthroats." He lets out a relieved sigh before nodding to R6. The droid beeps an affirmation before rolling out as Kahlil followed behind it. "I trust you to lead the way then Kade Kade . My fate is in your hands now."

Kade rubbed the back of his neck. "Well...actually..." Kade paused a bit embarrassed. "I probably made him sound nicer than he is." He chuckled nervously. "He does a lot of not so nice things." Kade said as he walked towards the front door. "It'd probably be best if we snuck in through the back into the shipyard itself." Kade said as he made his way out the door.

He would then begin to lead Kahlil to the shipyard. It wasn't too much of a walk from where they were.

A bemused grin forms on the young mans face as he listens. Sneak in? Well, if he had to he certainly could. Kahlil stays behind him for now, keeping his eyes open to look around where they were. So far so good, the thugs from before hadn't shown up again. For now. He follows behind Kade Kade , R6 not far behind him.

"I'm not the best at sneaking, though I imagine you already know a way inside?"

Kade smirked at Kahlil's question. "Of course, I don't get into many fights, so I usually find ways around confrontations. This is one." Kade said as he continued down the alleyway and took a turn.

As they turned the corner, they would be greeted by a wall.

"Just over this wall is the shipyard. Last I checked, the guards don't patrol it. They usually guard the shop and main entrance." Kade said as he jumped on a crate, motioned for Kahlol to follow and vaulted over the wall.

The duo would be greeted by light freighters and starfighters of many kinds.

"Take your pick. Do you know what you need?" Kade asked.

Kahlil Noble Kahlil Noble

"Simple. Simple is good." Kahlil chuckles a bit himself. He hops over the wall pretty easily, R6 doing the same. He looks about the ships, frowning some. His ship wasn't here. It must've been destroyed. Well. At least there was a Mercury Class in there. And.. It was fixed. With his ship. Many of them were. They had salvaged his ship.

He lets out a sigh as he glances to Kade Kade , frowning a little. "Well. Looks like I need a new ship."

Kade looked over to Kahlil and laughed. "Well, at least you have a good amount to choose from. I'm sure the owner won't miss 'em seeing as they're probably all stolen." Kade said with a grin.

Then he noticed the look on Kahlil's face and shifted to a more serious tone. "Lot of history with your old ship? At least you still got R6" Kade said: trying to cheer Kahlil up.

Kade began to walk deeper into the shipyard. He looked back to Kahlil.

"See anything you like?" Kade asked as he motiomed to the ships around him.

Kahlil Noble Kahlil Noble

"Yeah. A lot of friends. Memories." He shakes his head clear of his thoughts. Kade Kade and him were trespassing after all. He could reminisce later. Kahlil nods to the ship he had noticed, flashing a smile. R6 rolled right over to it to start hacking the ramp open. "That one'll do. Once we get it open we'll have to bolt. You sure you're ready to head out?"

Kade nodded. He understood where Kahlil was coming from. The Jedi nodded over to the mercury class freighter, then informed Kade that once they were in, they would have to leave. Kade smiled.

"For sure, my workshop will be fine, it's just a building. Anyway. Im ready when you are." The Hoodrat said as he gazed up to the stars.

"So what's the plan? Any idea where you want to go?" Kade asked as his eyes remained glued to the sky.

Kahlil Noble Kahlil Noble

"We have just about anywhere in the galaxy to go. But, if we're going to teach you how to be a Jedi, we should start as soon as possible. Ilum would be the best place." Kahlil nods, mostly to himself. R6 got the hatch open then, and an alarm would sound off. The young Jedi chuckles a bit as the ramp lowers and nods to it.

"Get on board. R6 will guide you through the start up. I'll keep them from getting on board till the ships ready to go." He gives Kade Kade a confident grin as he pulls out his lightsaber just as a group of thugs step out, guns up. The Jedi ignites his blade as he stands before them. He was calm, the calmest he's been in a long time. It only made him smile more, even as blaster fire erupted to shoot him down.
