Oh, yes. Conquest. Geronivous clasped his very evil reptilian hands in the evilest evil fashion, so that those who are not aware may understand just how evil he was.

But really, he was just misunderstood, man.

No, he did not believe in these gods that the people around him seemed to be fruitlessly in search of. He had found his gods long ago--vengeance and glory. Those were what made the galaxy go 'round. You know it.

Stalking back-and-forth across his evil bridge command deck of evilness, which was aboard the evil-looking Deliverance-class cruiser, the war chief of Kalee looked down upon the unfortunate world that would soon become a bus stop for evil. Very nefarious, if he did say so himself. "You," he said, pointing the evilest of his evil fingers on his hand of evil at a less evil crewman. "Dispatch the swarm fighters, as I am calling them now. You shall call them the swarm fighters, and nothing else, lest you fail sound evil. These swarm fighters shall form a cloud above the drop location already established.

"Then!" he continued, revealing more evil plans. "Launch the Raze transports at a vector that would pass through the swarm fighter cloud, that they may be protected in the skies, but land before the fighters are visible to the very naked eyes of whatever poor naked people live below, so that they may not be alerted of our evil presence until it is too late." It was going to be quite the entrance for Warlord Geronivous.

"Then!" Those who had turned their heads away from His Evilness immediately set their gazes upon the evil kaleesh once again. "We shall open diplomatic discussions and promote debate clubs for the children."

Such evil.
 
Was it finally time for her to take the stand?

Kela had practically fell asleep being stuck on the transports and all. Space fighting wasn't really her thing, there were plenty of other people for that sort of work anyway. A feral grin crossed her features as warnings were called out and issued through the rather blaring internal comm units. Her tongue rolled over her teeth and her lips as she stood up and began packing her armor on, it was uncomfortable to lounge about in that shit anyway, and moved to the deployment ramp with the rest of the ground forces. A throaty chuckle escaped echoed in her helmet as she turned to face the troops assigned to her. There were plenty of regulars, but she could also see the milling riflemen of her superior elite infantry as well. Equipped with their enclosed light power armor, Kela Thayne admired the imposing visage of all the helmets turned her way.

Oh her loyal company undoubtedly knew she was filled with bloodlust right now. After all, they were going into uncharted territory with free reign to do as they saw fit to react to the troubles they encountered. There would be much slaughter to be made in the name of their gods and their people. And while wearing powered armor equipped with light jump jets, built from thick duraplast, and each soldier bearing a heavy slugthrower rifle, it was certainly an enjoyable task to perform for Kela Thayne's cruel band of marauders. "Everyone out the ramps as soon as they drop! I expect everyone setting up their perimeters. Then we hunt for some fun!"
 
Anja was still traveling through hyperspace when she received an alert that [member="Kela Thayne"] had landed on the planet.

"Open a transmission.", she said; in reference to the former fact. The intercom officer nodded and complied. "This is Order's End, you're receiving a transmission from Anja Aj'Rou.", it broadcasted to their Gulandi general.

"Be sure that whatever inhabitants are given the choice. They will join us willingly, otherwise I'm aware of the exotic lifeforms. Utilize your resources to collect samples of plant tissues and pheromones. Any other interesting discoveries should be reported back to me immediately.", the transmission cut out and Anja turned back to her intercom officer.

"Put me in touch with our newest warlord.", once more the intercom officer complied and sent out a signal to [member="Geronivous"] , "This is Order's End , you're receiving a transmission from Anja Aj'Rou."

"I expect the battle to be going well, War Chief; I hope you're indeed as intelligent as your reputation boasts.", she quipped before awaiting a response.

Meanwhile she expected the other ground forces to conduct their objectives and the BlackOps team to scout ahead and relay intel back to Anja Aj'Rou.

Tyro'din smirked as the drop ship he was in spiralled down through the atmosphere, this was what he lived for, action and adrenalin. When the ships landed he turned and strode out of the cockpit towards the ramp before the comms officer relayed the order to disembark and to prepare for Recon. 'Lets begin' he thought before he clamped down on his emotions, settled an iron mask over his face prayed to Halrormalenth and strode out onto the planet's surface.

A single man stood on the surface of the planet. Well, not really stood, but crouched in front of one of the many, many plant species atop the surface. Kage, dressed in his usual loose fitting shirt and slacks, was here for one reason and one reason only. Vong tech. A long, long time ago he had learned his ability to use it, and now he wanted to learn more. Understand more. His fascination with technology had always existed after all.

But to get to the tech, he needed these plants. This particular one seemed to have a yellow substance dripping from its maw like leaves. Watching them as they dropped, he noticed very quickly that it was acid. With a slight frown, the clone would get up. Acidic plants would melt his bags. But this seemed to be easy enough trip for him. Perhaps this would really be an easy pay day.

Right right, that was right. They had to collect specimens of the local fauna and wildlife to supplement their scientific research. Kela grimaced at the additional task imposed on her, but she knew she still was not above the hierarchy and Anja was above her in station. Besides technological advancement wasn't a bad goal so doing the collecting for research samples wasn't a bad objective. After all it could lead to better bio-research and genetic enhancements or stim packs or new gel layer coating for armor. In fact it sounded like a fun assignment after all. "Of course Harbinger, we will collect the subjects you require. . . . but should we encounter resistance. . . . do I have the choice to enact whatever methods are required to bring any existing local inhabitants under our gods domain?"

This was what was important to Kela as her forces deployed in accordance to the orders issued to them over the comm unit. Some moved straight into the jungle growth, looking low for samples, combat knives in hand as their heavy slugthrowers slung over their arms. Others used either their jump jets or the cable launcher in their left wrist gauntlet to haul themselves up into the branches of the thick trees as they looked on high. The regulars were sent out ahead far and wide. Kela intended to use the normal forces as a sensor net. Whatever they encountered they would call back on, and by spreading them out they could discover things more quickly. It was a dumb move for a battle, but they weren't being sent against an enemy army here. They were scouting and looking for resources on a new planet they would soon control. So it was a very different set of circumstances.

Regardless, if they did find a threat, the Sephi woman intended to crush it thoroughly with the forces under her command. She just hoped they did find some sort of local population and they resisted. She so wanted to spill some blood today, it had been too boring as of late.
 
Anja listened to [member="Kela Thayne"] speak, "Do what you must, just remember if you come across any sentients, report to me first.", her orders were rather clear.

Meanwhile she had received news that her newly hired mercenary had touched down on the world, a message was sent out to [member="Kage"] by the intercom officer.


"Your orders are clear... Collect plant samples, hunt down the remaining pirates, and report discoveries. In exchange we shall share useful aspects of our research with you.", he said; the last part in reference to their deal in allowing him access to their biological tech resulting from their new discoveries. It was going to be behind vong-tech; this world was unique in its oxygen rich environment filled to the brim with giant carnivorous plants.

Another message was sent out to the remaining parties that had landed:

"Report all contact with sentients to Anja Aj'Rou, eliminate the pirates, and continue the collection of plant sample."

The last of the pirate vessels were being hunted down and eliminated by the small crafts, while the Raze transports were sending Dropships to collect the escape pods that were launched from the friendly fleet. Then the commander of the fleet finally arrived going on about his wild imaginations rants of swarms and being all 'Evil'.

"Welcome to the fight Commander Geronivous...We have all but terminated the Pirates...Have a safe trip to the Surface..."

Legion meant none of the well wishes he posed, it was formality. One of his Ghosts must've been a polite person. The Ghosts that were visible were buzzing around the stations as te Sephi worked, they related the information directly to Legion via their communal telepathic link. The Host Lord had arrived, he felt it appropriate to fill her in.

"Host Lord, the pirates are finished and commander Kadei and his crew are being collected from their wrecked ship...We will be finished shortly...What will you have Us do next?..."

The dropship began a spiraling descent through the atmosphere. In seeming perfect syncronization, the various emergency systems, the various emergency systems and protocols become immediately activated. Chaos erupts on board the dropship, with various crew members scrambling and shouting at each other. The single thought in their collective minds is that they can not seem to verbally state is the insanity of Ciara. One of them approaches Ciara and begins to shout, "WHAT T..."

Before he can finish Ciara raises his DC-15s Blaster and fires it right into his skull. The plasma-based projectile erupts his cranial cavity and a cone of carbonized brain tissue, blood, bone and scapel projects outward and onto a few unfortunate crew members behind him. She quickly holsters the DC-15s Blaster with a quick twirl before going to the navigational controls. She immediately disengages the atmospheric stabilizers and thrusters, and the ship immediately stops gyrating in space. Then, she engages the aft sublight and atmospheric engines, propelling the GU-42 Dropship forward and stabilizing the ship further and restoring balance to the ship. The crew members immediately stop bracing for impact and begin to relax their extremely tense muscles. Afterwards, Ciara does an extremely skillful 180 barrel roll, and the engines begin decelerating the dropship against the forces of planetary gravity.

She pauses for a moment and counts.

She immediately disengages the engines and re-engages all the atmospheric thrust engines and stabilizers, rotating the ship a complete 180 degrees back to its original position before pulling the nose of the dropship up immediately. She re-engages once against the aft engines and the dropship begins a slow descent and onto the designated redenzous point.

She sighs.

She looks at the remaining 3 crew members and immediately unholsters her blaster once again. She looks at all the crew members, analyzing their faces for the extent which their willpower could handle the flight.

She fires twice.

Two bodies immediately slump against the durasteel hulls of the ship.

The remaining crew member immediately drops to his knees and bows. "Why..." He begins.

Ciara aftly places her hand up, silencing him immediately. "Get us on the ground."

She moves towards the staging platform of the dropship, waiting to descend on the ground.

Turning Zavzen watched the decent of the three other dropships, the Force was flaring in the back of his mind along with the question of why his dropship had landed and not the other three. All seemed to be fine until all three started to spiral out of control part way through their decent. Two of the ships dropped immediately, flames trailing behind them as the planet's gravity pulled them to their end, the last ship however managed to stabilize it's flight before landing quite a distance away, a distance he estimated to be 5 Klicks. Turning Tyro'din barked out for the pilot to be brought before him, "Co-ordinates?" He asked as soon as his orders had been followed. As the pilot rattled of the co-ordinates, the only thought running through the Bothan's mind was that this wasn't the RDZ. The anger that had been brewing below the surface all day becaem to much for him to contain as the incompetence of the officers made it worse.

"Silence," he growled, pulling two blaster pistols from their holsters, "May Balagoth consume you!" He intoned before firing his two blasters at the heads of the pilot and co-pilot, executing them. "Bring me the Navigation and Comms Officer." As the two stepped forwards Tyro'din's arm came up and the Navigation Officer joined his colleagues on the floor, "Incompetent!" He spat at the cooling corpses.

"Now, officer, contact the surviving dropship. Inform them of the situation, we are estimated 5 Klicks east of LZ, rerouteing path to intercept LZ. Expected time of arrival: 1 and half hours, Galactic Standard. Then you and the remaining crew, well, I hope you can pilot this craft between you or you have two choices: stay here, or come. If you follow, understand I do not accept less that full effort, you fail that, you can join these men in the afterlife." Turning away from the officer now running to follow his orders, joined by the rest of the crew, Tyro'din faced his men. "Our objectives are being updated. Priority One: Head to RDV. Priority Two: Scout the area, search for sentients. Do not engaged unless they do first. Record position and withdraw. Priority Three: Collect biological samples. The objectives may be liable to change."

Turning, he began to march towards the LZ of the only other dropship accompanied by the other squad leader, nodding to each other they split slightly to separate the two squads. Tyro'din was followed by the eleven other members of his Squad, the crew obviously electing to stay with the ship. Stopping, he shouted back over his should, "Please tell me some kriffing thought to bring a comm and the rest of our equipment?" Continuing his march, he smirked in satisfaction as he heard someone scamper back to the ship.

Ciara simply waited for the ship to descend, but the ship never reached that point. It simply hovered over the expanses of forested territories of Rhadamanthus. A quick sigh and she was off to the cockpit once again. She eyed the pilot, who immediately prostrated himself before Ciara and stated, "There seems to be a dropship that hailed us before cutting off contact...A few clicks from our location."

"Rise, you have no reason for prostration. You, yourself, have proven yourself worthwhile to keep living." Ciara responded. "As for this remaining dropship...I don't care what happens to them. Let the Void take possession of them, and if they die great. If they meet with us, we will part paths immediately. Here, and in any mission, it is a competition of survival; this is not the place for teamwork lessons before nap time like an insolent child."

Ciara motioned for the pilot to follow her, and Ciara paused at the navigational controls. Utilizing the heavy repeating blaster cannon turret and the chaff launchers, she immediately cleared a path for the dropship to land as well as eliminating any immediate biological threats on the ground. Afterwards, she immediately initiated the automatic landing protocols and swiftly left to the staging area.

She stood in front of a company of eighty soldiers provided by the Host Lord. To Ciara, not ideal, but better than nothing. She motioned for the pilot to come forward and join the soldiers. "Now, gear up and take everything off the ship. We'll make a temporary shelter at this location, utilizing the ship for further fortifications and then, I'll lead a vanguard into a reconnaissance mission of Rhadamanthus. Now, I have provided a variety of highly sophisticated and advanced biological sensors. In order to effectively survey the area, we will need to plant sensor beacons across a 10 kilometer by 10 kilometer area around the rendezvous point. We'll start off nice and easy with an initial eight sensor beacons. This is our main objective."

She divided the group into one Vanguard group of twenty soldiers, who were the veteran soldiers of the company, and then faced the rest of the soldiers. She addressed them, "Now, you will be the support group. But this doesn't mean that you get to fail to be vigilant. Here, it is kill or be killed. No exceptions. Everyone will fight for their own lives, so keep this in mind as soon as we step off this ship. The support team will hold an EnhanceScan general-purpose scanner and record any sensory data and directly feed it to the computer of the dropship. Scan every 10-meter square you step on. The computer of the dropship has already been stored with a square plot of the area and tell you when you need to scan. In addition, you will need to plant sensor beacons, indicated at these points. These sensor beacons are equipped with advanced bioscanners, so we'll be able to effectively scan the area for lifeforms."

Ciara opens up a holographic datapad and displays the coordinates of the first coverage area. She points at eight locations and states, "There are eight points that comprised of this initial area of 1-kilometer area. We will slowly increase the coverage of our sensor beacons as soon as we secure this initial area. As soon as we set up a safe perimeter, utilize the ILF-5000 Life Form Scanners in order to document each species they encounter. It's okay to re-scan species, but missing species..."

Ciara cracks her neck twice. "I'll execute you on the spot. Clear?"


The soldiers simply nod professionally.

Ciara continues, "I have also ensured we have plenty of power by also bringing along a dozen portable fusion generators for our operations, so the first thing to do is set up these fusion generators and put up defensive emplacements, temporary habitations for us to reside in, and finally, the biological facilities equipped with cryofreezing technology."

Quickly stepping away from them, she dismisses them quickly and formally, and they scramble to prepare everything and unload everything as soon as they step off the ship.

She turns to the Vanguard group. "We have the frakking worst job. Yeah, I'll admit it now. We need to subdue any threats as well as eliminate any other teams we come in contact with. That includes the dropship that just communicated with us...I don't trust this...Tyro'din he calls himself. A new shot. A neophyte. Regardless, eliminate him on sight. In addition, we are also on bioscanning duty so anything you subdue, immediately scan it and call in support to bring it back to the ship and cryofreeze it for preservation. Clear?"

They nod as well.

"Good, now let's go."
 
On route in hyperspace, Anja was in her personal chambers where she began to meditate.

"I don't know what I'm searching for.", she called out to some invisible presence that resided only within her deepest innermost thoughts; as result from the cave on Gulamendis.

"Isn't it obvious? You can feel the people you've touched; those who call you their leader.", the voice responded.

Anja thought on it, and realized that it was true. She could feel them, Kadri and the others. Even as they were nearing the exit of hyperspace she could already begin to sense what was going on. But why? What purpose did she have in this? That was what she wondered. For now everything was rather meaningless but she knew soon enough the truth would become realized.
 
"No need for evacuation, Legion. This ship is still functional and I've lost few of the crew members. I believe that engineering teams are nearly complete in their repairs of the shielding systems."

Kadri walked from side to side of the bridge, pacing himself, thinking of what to say. Officers continued to operate systems continually, checking up on their status, looking for any malfunctions across systems that were not obviously damaged in the attack. None were found of yet, and he trusted his officers' competence to pull the ship together in tougher situations than this. Suddenly a signal flared. The communications officer turned in her chair, "Sir! Captain Tora's distress signal has been activated!"

"Tyro'din. I give you now a new objective. Captain Tora's signal shows to be 2 kilometers north of point RDV, rescue her. Do with the other officers as you will, they can be easily replaced, she cannot."

After a few minuets of walking Tyro'din called halt to the squad and turned to address them. "New orders! Disregard priority one. Comm Squad Two as follows: New Orders! Rendezvous with us here. Were at Base One now men. Lets get set up."

Soon after camp was set Squad Two trooped in. Standing, Tryo'din began to address his men. "You are curious about the rescinded orders, correct?" Although it was a question, it sounded like a statement, "We don't know what caused the ships to go down, nor what caused us to go off course. I sincerely hope that we have no traitors or saboteurs, but we pray for the best, act on the worst. If we have a traitor on the crew, best let them think we are going somewhere we are not. The comm got through - they know we're alive, now we do our jobs. Plus I doubt I would survive entering the RDV zone, political manoeuvring is what I do best - I'm Bothan, and I would have of had me killed if I was the leader of the other dropship."

Walking over to the compiled equipment, Tyro'din continued: "We know our jobs, scout for life forms and take bio readings. We shall continue with these as our priority. Orders were we operate from a central base but the mission has already gone to hell in a kriffing hand-basket singing songs all the way down. As of this point we are a mobile unit. We pitch temp bases only.

"Squad Two, you will be split into your four fireteams. One and Two you are to take readings of the flora of this karking place, scan every little thing you see. I don't give a shavit if you have already scanned something, too much information is better that nothing, understood. Three and Four, you will be guarding the base and monitoring systems, especially comms. I want a comms check every 20 Galactic Standard minuets. Squad One, you will be spilt into four fireteams. Fireteams One through Three will be taking recording of the fauna. Fireteam Four, you and I will be doing recon. We will operate in a half-klick diameter circle with our base at the centre. Any sentient we discover will be recorded and observed but not engaged. Only engage if the little shavits are hostile." Tyro'din stopped his pacing, which he had started sometime in the middle if his speech, and face the two squads in front of him. After a few seconds he began to bark at them "Get to work men! No sitting on your..." What he was going to say was cut off as the comm crackled into life and a voice came through,

"Tyro'din. I give you a new objective. Captain Tora's signal shows to be 2 kilometres north of point RDV, rescue her. Do with the other officers as you will, they can be easily replaced, she cannot."

With a sigh, Tyro'din once continued to speak, "You heard the orders men. Suspend current objectives until the new priority one is fulfilled. We are currently 4 and a half klicks from RDV, our new direction will be North by East for 3 klicks, there we will set camp. At that point Squad Two will split into fireteams, 2 will stay at and guard the camp while the other two will join Squad One and I and march the remaining 1.9 Klicks to our objectives location. Fall Out!"

Quickly the camp was disassemble and the men marching.

The dropship slowly rumbled as the repulsor engine systems struggled to decelerate the massive GU-42 Dropship to acceptable parameters before resonating in one final thud. The entire ship paused as the reverberations of the impact slowly dissipated and all of the infantry began scrambling to the slowly lowering boarding ramp. Ciara gazed at the vanguard unit, which had positioned itself of the lowering boarding ramp doors before unshouldering her DC-15A Blaster Rifle and aiming it toward the opening.

As the boarding ramps began initiating the airseal release protocols, Ciara yelled, "ENGAGE INDEPENDENT ATMOSPHERIC SYSTEMS. DO NOT DISENGAGE UNLESS DIRECTLY INSTRUCTED BY ME. EVERYONE SHOULD BE IN A COMPLETELY SEALED SUIT. IF YOU AREN'T HURRY THE FRAG UP."

The boarding ramp hissed as the pressure within the liquid hydraulic systems was released and the large slab of alusteel slowly descended down onto the ground and roughly smashed the soft, moist ground of Rhadamanthus.

Anja meditated in her chambers as the starship traveled through hyperspace.

"Send out a message.", she commanded -- opening a single eye to scan the area; the intercom responded to her voice and flicked on to distribute the message.

"Transmitting: You may speak now.", the officer responded. The Host Lord took a deep breath before finally speaking up.


"This is Anja Aj'Rou, I want that world secure by the time I arrive. Eliminate any threat and get me any intel on the inhabitants.", her orders were given. The intercom clicked off as she delved back into her meditation and continued to search her thoughts and open new perceptions.

Meanwhile in the hanger her dropship was being prepped for launch; a unit of Gulandi warriors were prepared to follow the Host Lord into battle.

As soon as the boarding ramp descended onto the ground, a mist of unknown gases immediately flooded the interior of the ship. Ciara yelled at the vanguard unit, "SECURE THE LANDING ZONE."

The soldiers simply nodded and moved to pan the area, sweeping the impromtu landing zone which, after a few rounds of laser cannon fire, was a relatively flat and smoldering pile of vegetation. Lost specimens, Ciara thought, But better than being killed.

She commanded, "Move out and set up the initial defensive structures. Set up the anti-personell E-Web Heavy Repeating Blasters around the perimeter, and entrench any and all positions. As soon as we set up the perimeter, the support group is set to setting up the temporary structures previously mentioned."

"Remember men, keep you damn eyes open. Don't even fragging blink. If you do, I can't guarentee your life."

The men simply nodded before executing Ciara's orders.
 
"Connect me with Ciara.", the host lord ordered. Once again breaking out of her meditation. She wished to communicate with one of her latest followers.

"As you wish, your worship.", the intercom officer responded as usual; the man was disciplined. "Connection is now live.", the intercom now was only awaiting Anja's words. She reviewed some feed on her datapad, of the events transpiring. Pirates, carnivorous plants, and deadly beasts? What kind ow world was this?

"I trust you enough to get the job done. Find out what's going on immediately. Understood? And find me those sentients!", she ordered and the intercom clicked off again. Anja stood up, no longer wishing to meditate and traveled through the corridors of her vessel and headed towards the bridge.

"Your worship.", the captain said -- bowing as she walked in. Her eyes gazed up and down, sizing him up. "How long until we arrive?", she asked. The Captain went over to one of the consoles before turning back to her. He cleared his throat, "Hours from now, it's not that far from Gulamendis.", although that was true it still had used up a considerable amount of their consumables to get there.

"Good. I'm interested in landing, I trust my dropship is ready?", she inquired on the subject. The captain nodded, "I made sure it was, Your Worship.", he replied without hesitation. Anja was pleased with his intuition -- it was quick and precise; something his predecessor lacked severely. "I trust you'll alert me when it's ready.", she said and without waiting for a response left to go back to her chambers and prepare.

As the men set up the E-Web Heavy Repeating Blaster emplacements around the parameter, Ciara moved towards the previously redeemed pilot and placed her hand on his shoulder. Through her opaque visor, Ciara gave him an icy stare and the pilot instinctively shivered in a wave of fear. She had to solidly judge the character of the man in front of him: it was a simple matter of life or dead for the entire company. Could she really rely on this person?

Trusting her first hand judgement of the pilot, she simply agreed with her gut and decided to place her trust into him. Well, not her absolute trust, but enough trust into maintaining the escape route for the entire company and herself. Escaping out of this situation alive without his help would be difficult, but not impossible.

"You stay behind and keep the ship computer systems running. I trust in your capacity the most out of all these men in this company. Keep the power generator running and depower all life support systems. I want this bird to be able to fly within seconds if we need to...Understand?" Ciara confided in the pilot.

He nodded and stated, "Yes, Ma'am."
 
"The orbit around this planet is secure, host lord. It seems that Geronivous came a little too late to get a good bit of the battle. No more signatures have yet to be detected in this system. We shall be prepared for more vagabonds if they wish to so freely sacrifice themselves to join Sargon in the void."

Kadri shifted in his seat and studied the damage that the ship had sustained. Damned, it was bad, he doubted that this ship could ever be put to use again.

"My ship has sustained heavy damage, all shields recharging. We have lost both stabilizers to concussion missles from the enemy. Captain Tora has been stranded on the planet since her own ship sustained unfortunately fatal damage. I have given Ty-" Suddenly Kadri erupted into a fit of coughing. The pressurized air vibrating his throat, lungs and diaphragm as it went. A small amount of blood splattered against the inside of the rebreather. "I have sent-" another short fit. "Sent agent Tyro'din to retrieve her as she is near his current renez-vous point. I have instructed him to save her and do what he will with the rest of the crew members. Would you wish any of those orders changed, my lord?"
