We Come in XXXXL

[member="Alric Kuhn"] received an official request for a business meeting with Darth Orcus, a moderately well-known Sith who headed up Darkwater Security. Titan Industries was a rising star, one of the corporations the One Sith employed almost to exclusivity. Orcus didn't want to miss the mag-lev train while it was just taking off so to speak.

He arrived at the headquarters of Titan Industries in person. With the expansion in Darkwater came an expansion in funds. He had been able to employ a personal tailor who fitted suits to his size. On account of this, Orcus showed up wearing a blue business suit, all toothy mega-smiles and enveloping flippershakes as he bustled through the doors and checked in with the receptionist before taking a seat.

To his embarrassment, he had to take up three chairs. Others passing by gave him exasperated or merely curious looks. In the northern parts of the galaxy sight of a Herglic might be rare indeed. They usually restricted themselves to Fondor and the nearby trade lanes. Orcus hoped to .... expand their vision.

Alric wound his way down to the bottom of his corporate headquarters.

Long turbo-lift rides and intrinsic corridors made for quite the journey, though he managed to reach the bottom in due course. The first thing he noticed when arriving in the lobby was the massive Herglic sitting in three of his chairs. Alric's eyebrows rose, unsure if he had ever met an Alien so large besides a Hutt.

“Uhhh.” Alric said to one of his secretaries.

“Your three o'clock Mr Serin.”

He looked at her for a moment. That was the head of Darkwater? Well, he supposed the name now made more sense. With a slight shrug, Alric stepped over to the massive man, a smile on his face and charm in his voice. “Lord Orcus.”

Alric gave a bow in greeting.

Orcus caught the hint of chagrin in the ocean of [member="Alric Kuhn"]'s calm. That veneer surface, so well polished to reflect what others wished to see, belied little of the scent beneath, though Orcus could smell it like blood in the water.

The cetacean got to his feet and bowed awkwardly in return - Herglic forms in all their bulk were not made for bending.

"Mr. Kuhn, a pleasure to finally meet you. All the galaxy looks on in wonder as Titan Industries grows. Some in trepidation, others in hope. I'm of the latter category, hauum." A sudden spout of air from the nostrils situated atop his head punctuated the sentence.

"I'm afraid I'm a rather forthright individual," a white lie if there ever was one, "So rather than heap upon you a dozen more platitudes and flatteries, I'll not waste your time. I was hoping to discuss a contract for Darkwater Security."

“I appreciate your candor, Lord Orcus.” That was certainly true.

He had a hundred meetings to attend every day, the faster they went the faster he could get things done and get home to Silara.

Alric chuckled inwardly at that, showing no signs of amusement but feeling it nonetheless. Only weeks ago the idea of being so tied down to one woman would have horrified him to no end, yet now he actively looked forward to finding her within his home every night. Funny how that worked out.

“Darkwater has a reputation for excellent service.” That was certainly true. “I would be remiss to not have you in my employ, at least on a trial basis. Though Titan Industries has its own security force, sparing men to guard my executives takes away from other duties.”

That was also true. Droids were bad bodyguards and The Sons of Titan were supposed to be above that sort of thing. Having private security to overwatch his executive off world...it would free things up.

"Of course, hauum, the Sons of Titan are growing daily in renown, but they do not come in size 82 large."

The cetacean smiled jovially. His species' bulk was an ample source of embarrassment. It felt good to turn the traditional fears on end. After all, who better to catch a bullet for a principle than a muscle-bound mass of blubber. One massive hug and the principle, if not crushed beneath the weight, would be safe and snug as can be in the protective embrace of a Herglic.

"How many bodgyuards would you wish to hire on the preliminary basis?"

Trial basis.

Alric through for a moment. Titan Industries had executives on every world that it operated on. It had Divisional Heads and it had department oversight personnel. All of them were important in some way, all of them held some sort of value. Hiring Darkwater to protect all of them would be far too much right now.

“Ten.” Alric finally decided on. “Vilium has ten executives currently staying here viewing the city. The Corellias are still...displeased by our actions on this world. The Sons would be more than happy to have them taken off their hands.”

That was certainly true.

The Sons weren't meant to be bodyguards, they didn't like doing it. Protecting Silara and Alric was one thing, but snobby Titan Executives? Not their cup of tea.

"Excellent. It has been some time since Darkwater personnel have had the privilege to suffer for an employer, if the Corellians' anger does prove... explosive. I'm certain they will prove themselves worthy."

He offered his flipper again.

"Thank you for your business, [member="Alric Kuhn"]."
