Welcome to the Jungle! [OOC] [OS-Rep. Inv. of Kashyyyk]

Vrag

The Second Seal, broken.
[member="Randial"]

the Republic was given more than enough posts and time to retaliate / prevent / counter [member="Cryax Bane"]'s attempt to do so. I suggest you read all of his posts regarding this 'impossible' hack. ;)

I'd imagine a "telepathic master" would have to be fluent in wookiee culture and mysticism to interfere with something like this. Telepathy is never "one size fits all". Haven't you ever heard of the X-Men? :p

Only way I can think this occurred is he got into some sort of back bone system and ruined it. This would take forever to replace assuming things like fiber optic style cabling to transmit the typical data levels. So likely nobody can use the communications system atm on the republic side.

The sound of a horn has absolutely nothing to do with their culture and mysticism. That being said, I would simply need to replicate the exact same sound that have been echoed across the jungle in a different direction to alter their path. Simplicity is far more efficient than grand acts of nonsense.

I'd also like to mention that telepathy is almost entirely one-size-fits all.

So wait. We are literally a day into the invasion and we have a guy that has already disabled the Republic's entire communications system? Getting past things like, figuring out all of their transmissions(Because who really only has one channel to communicate on), bypassing their encryptions, and then stopping their own cyber security team(I'd assume even the Republic army is smart enough to have one in their army in the space age)? Man, we must have quite the hotshot slicer on our hands to do such extremely crippling things to an army in such an extremely small time frame.
Not the entire communications system. Just the one at Objective B. I used a team of slicers to do this. And if someone had RPed said cyber-security team, any Republic leader in the thread could have slowed me down or stopped me. As [member="Vrag"] stated, all someone had to do was counter-slice with slicer NPCs. I warned people in OOC that my big move was coming and gave people ample time to react.

My character is no script-kiddie. He once created a code monster to fight the Black Suns code monster in their networks. A code monster.

As I've been RPing him as a slicer on these boards for half a year, I imagine he's allowed to be pretty awesome by now.

Oh, I thought you meant to eff with their "Thought Wave," not clone a horn sound. Word -- My b. If you speak brass, keep on keepin' on.

Wouldn't we be able to reroute to a secondary comm channel? I need clarification on that, as that is what I put in my post!

Let me know tech savy people!!!

EDIT: I hadn't seen all this debate while working on my post, so please clarify this issue for me :)

I'd also like to assert that, despite your mention, telepathy remains having never been one-size-fits-all in any fandom in the history of the universe.
A very skilled user could isolate their own brain waves, intercept stray thoughts, screen multiple minds simultaneously, whisper across space, yell without noise, keep secrets, and uncover the truths under layers of deceits and hidden memories.

Given enough time, I could very well do a "one-size-fits-all" sort of deal. Telepathy isn't simply mind-reading and whispering without speaking.

You can do this, but what I'd like is a chance for myself and my slicers to counter it please. If you could edit your post to make it more of an attempt that would be enough for me.

Deleted my original line where I said something because I felt it unconstructive in a forum where everyone's super-excited about insisting that everyone around them is effing PO'd.

That said, I'd be super-interested in debating this whole thing in a quieter space. Starting with "given enough time" already insists that telepathy is not "one-size-fits-all" because you're already suggesting you'd have to tailor your approach

Can ya'll discuss it in a different thread at least?

Just to keep this clutter free and for the invasion only?
