Kairon Rees
Smuggler

Kairon was already nodding, scrolling a data pad in his lap with ship names. Every now and then he tapped a name, other times he would stop and squint for a few seconds. Mal would recognise him thinking hard, trying to put together aliases of ships and captains. Some ships had a lot of names.
"If only this had been out of the core," he sighed. Their galaxy was a typical spiral, a spherical bulge core and a wide flat disc. In the outer reaches one could always point their vessel straight up or down and escape into empty space.
He noticed a few of the bridge crew pretending not to listen. "Ah we'll be alright anyway. Just a few quiet days and we'll get moved on." His smile looked almost genuine. He bolstered it by mentally permitting himself to open one of his older bottles of red for this. Whilst he would never be a spirits man, nor her wine, they could both appreciate good alcohol. And cheap alcohol.
"See what our employers want? Shulstine isn't far and is neutral space."
