Krae
"The Krae"
Another nod from him as she mentioned the way life ended, "Yes, unfortunate as it is." A simple comment. They would head towards a deeper part of the city and eventually make it within an area only Nexus and his military were allowed to go, within which she would be brought towards
large enough for her to get inside. One of Vran'ti's prides, such technology was common place for them. This however was equipped to allow the transfer between species and the copy of one person to another, it was a much more restricted version but one which Nexus had easy access to. He would send out word to have a slave brought forth, though he would ensure they knew to only grab one that was guilty of a terrible enough crime that life imprisonment would be considered perfectly acceptable. Citizen Torturers and serial killers mainly were the ones to go on that list.
The scan would not take long, and the machine was designed to function most of it all itself. They'd ask her to get inside and then begin the process, she might feel something, but the machine would not in fact touch her at all. Reading every bit of information necessary. It would ask her to speak common phrases she knew, speak words that were in fact absolute gibberish, attempt to remember key moments especially about relevant information (though saying it out loud was unnecessary) and in what would span not even thirty minutes, the machine would have recorded all it needed.
From there Nexus would wait with Riamah and they'd hide behind a one way screen, hiding them from everyone in the room with the machine as a woman was pulled in kicking and screaming. He had one of the Jkri come to him, ["Crimes?"] He asked simply in the native tongue. The Jkri would answer and Nexus would turn to face Riamah as they forced the slave inside the chamber, "I do not know what you are used to seeing, so I am unsure if this will disturb you. Feel free to look away or leave for now if you ever need to but I assure you it's not going to be as painful as it looks. This woman is an anarchist and an assassin as I'm told. Guilty of murdering five off duty Jkri, three witnesses, and attempting to murder a Vo Ni." he gave a nod to the guards and they would begin the process.
The doctor at the machine would have it inject the slave causing her to stop moving. Although Nexus was right about the transformation not being as painful as it would look, it didn't mean it wouldn't hurt. But they wouldn't remember that. The machine would begin to reach around her, a light glow occurring here and there, or an outright bright laser, as her body seemed to open itself up and changing from the inside. While one piece worked on her spine and organs another began on her head, others on her limbs. All sucking up any blood and making sure it went back into the system. The body was being shifted to copy the exact physical specifications it had scanned down to the genetics to ensure a complete formation without the problems that could occur when creating a body that had only the appearance of another, but would heal incorrectly because it wasn't meant to be that way. The body itself would begin to be sealed up while the brain continued to be worked on, it was the most complex part that needed to be completely certain it was as close to the original as possible. Wiping the memories of before and artificially recreating those it was supposed to have. Nexus had no reason to turn away, even if he wasn't the cruel leader he could be, it was common for individuals Vran'ti to have seen a fully dissected individual. And people in the military often had limbs lost during practice and saw them replaced and regrown.
