Well You Haven't Killed Me Yet...

Saryana Lynae

New Beginnings Are Found In The Strangest Places
Saryana was walking back to her apartment after getting off work, with Will by her side. He had been determined to walk her to work and back everyday since he had begun staying with her.The young Togruta didn't mind, she felt much safer with the Zorren by her side. The fox-like boy had become something of a permanent fixture in her life, and she was dreading the day he might decide to leave. She didn't want him to go ever. He had been so kind to her and she didn't want to lose him. She reached the apartment and unlocked the door, sighing and going to her room to change into her usual black pants and dark blue shirt. Will seemed to like her much better dressed that way, and she was eager to get out of the small dancer's uniform which she was convinced was at least one size too small for her. I smiled as we finally reached the apartment and walked in after [member="Saryana Lynae"]. A week had passed and so far, I was enjoying this new life. Sure I left with a craving adventure, but my real reason was, of course, to lessen the load on my parents as they tried to survive in hiding. So, as ong as I wasn't getting killed just about any lifestyle was alright. Besides, housing up to defend a rather innocent dancer would not only lessen my dear mother's worry, it might also make her a bit proud. Even in these dark times, I held true to the zorren way. As Lynae went up to change I walked over to the couch to relax. Might as well, not like I had any plans to go anywhere.

"So what do you do while I'm at work?" Saryana asked him, a hint of curiosity coloring her voice. She came over and sat next to him on the couch. He didn't have a key to her apartment yet, so she wondered how he kept busy during her long hours at work. She blushed faintly as the idea of him possibly hanging out at the cantina hit her. She wondered if maybe he stayed to watch her, or make sure none of the idiots inhabiting the cantina tried anything stupid. [member="William Seraven"]

I shrugged and reached behind me, pulling out a pouch of credits. "Sometimes I hang around just to make sure that you're alright. Other times, go out and collect some credits to hep with expenses." I flicked my tail and placed the pouch by the tohers. Of course, I never stole from the poor. I only ever took money from those who could afford it.

"A thief and a dancer, what a pair. If only we could put those two talents together," the Togruta joked as she leaned against the arm of the couch. She yawned sleepily, being a dancer was surprisingly tiring. She glanced over at the pile of credit pouches, and had a sudden thought. "None of that money was taken from the poor right?" She didn't think it was, but she had to be sure. The kind young woman didn't necessarily approve of stealing, and she definately didn't approve stealing from poor people. I let out a laugh and started to repetitively toss the pouch, enjoying the wight as it fell into my hand time and time again. But as she asked for my targets, I refrained from tossing it to shake my head. "Of course not. I live like this a s a choice. It wouldn't be fair if I stole from those who weren't so lucky. No, I only take from those that look like they can afford it."

"Good... I'd feel terrible if I knew I was living off of the poor..." the young Togruta replied as she watched him tossing the pouch. She smiled a bit as she watched him. It had only been a week, but she was growing attached to her bushy tailed friend. "So... Do you enjoy living here?" Saryana asked as she continued to study the teen next to her. I grinned and tucked away the pouch. "Its relaxing, yet not too easy. I like it here." I leaned my head back on the couch. "When I left my parents, I wanted to see what it was like to live in a harsher world. But once I got here with you, I guess I found out just how much I missed the basic necessities. You don't live in luxury, but you can at least be comfortable."

"It's not the best living situation, but it is better than living on the streets," The Togruta agreed, moving a little closer to Will and grabbing her datapad. She started drawing random creatures and landscapes, not realizing that she was slowly beginning to lean against the Zorren next to her. She bit her lip slightly as she focused on her work, completely oblivious to the fact that she was practically cuddled against him. [member="William Seraven"]

My smiled broadened as I watched her begin to draw. That look she got when she focused on her art, always seemed to intrigue me. When she started t lean into me, I simply looked over her shoulder to watch her work. She was right about one thing, this was better than living in the street. Though, in my relaxed state, I failed to notice my tail having a mind of its own as it slipped around Saryana and wrapped lightly around her.

Saryana blushed a bit as she felt his tail wrap around her but stayed cuddled against him as she drew. The landscape shown on the datapad was a small clearing in a forest with a stream running through it. She paused to think for a minute before she began sketching Will leaning against a large rock by the stream. She continued to gently chew her lip while she focused on getting the details of his face and clothes right. [member="William Seraven"]

My head tilted as I noticed her drawing a person. It was a beautiful scene, especially since I loved the forests. They reminded me of my home in the capital of my home planet. As the figure took shape, I felt my tail bush up as I figured out who it was. It was a great work, and to be honest, I was honored to be in it, though it did make me focus on not waggin a tail, a precaution that led to me learning of where it had gone. Oh... would ya look at that.

Saryana began adding another person to image. As she drew a young Togruta that looked suspiciously like Saryana was beginning to take shape in Will's lap, with his tail wrapped around the figure. The girl was leaning with her back against Will's chest and her head resting against his shoulder, with her eyes closed. She smiled brightly as she worked, enjoying the process of drawing the two of them together. She cuddled a little closer to him, smiling as she felt his tail puff up a bit. My eyes widened slightly as I noticed the next figure as well as where it was being drawn. Though, my smile did continue. Perhaps that was another good thing about her drawings. She drew what she felt like. My tail tightened a bit around her as she laid her head on my shoulder. To my mild surprise, I was enjoying this. It was nice to sit back with her like this, just watching as she drew, cuddled up next to me.

Saryana smiled even more as she felt him hold her a little tighter. She finished the details on the couple in the drawing and began drawing a small group of fox-like creatures playing off to the side, giving the appearance that the image of Will and Saryana in the drawing were watching the small, fluffy creatures. She finished drawing the small pups and simply stared at the screen of the datapad for awhile, admiring her work and searching for any flaws. [member="William Seraven"]

I watched her complete her work and wrapped my arms lightly around her. "You know, you should have sold some of your works. They're very beautiful." My tail by this point had turned quite soft and fluffy, a general sign of happiness in my species. It was a wonderful drawing and I enjoyed looking at each detail, having seen the work that went into it.

"You... really think I could? I mean... Artwork isn't something very sought after as far as I know... I don't think anyone would buy my work," she replied turning to look at him, without moving out of his hold. She enjoyed the feeling of his tail around and the fur was tickling her stomach a bit due to her shirt riding up slightly. She smiled up at him as she waited for a response, one hand holding the datapad and the other resting lightly on his tail. She enjoyed being cuddled against him, he was rather warm and the young Togruta tended to get cold easily. [member="William Seraven"]

I nodded and held her close to me. "Of course. I've found that there's always someone willing to buy something and if a person has any talent in anything, it can prove useful. And I assure you, you have more than enough talent to get something good out of this." Honestly, I was surprised she hadn't thought of this already. For me, it seemed to make perfect sense. The drawings were wonderful, and despite popular belief, there was a demand for art in several places.

"Would you be willing to help me with that? No matter what I do in the future... I suppose I could make money off my drawings in my spare time," Saryana asked, a hopeful expression on her face. It would give them another option for money aside from stealing, or Saryana's dancing career. She smiled, petting his tail absent-mindedly as she continued to look up at him. At this point she was practically laying on him. Her head was resting against his shoulder with her face turned to see him, her legs where stretched out on the couch and she was laying on her side, halfway in Will's lap with his tail around her waist. It was an adorable position to be in. [member="William Seraven"]
