Strengths: Bubble Shield- The WESTAR BA-01 is a back attachment that projects a deflector shield all around the user. This means the wearer is protected from all forms of fire ranging from blaster bolts to slug rounds to explosions so long as it remains up. The wearer is also able to fire from within the shield without them being stopped by the shield's effect.
Weaknesses: Low Velocity- The WESTAR BA-01 was designed to stop high velocity objects, so anything that is still or moving slow enough can pass through the shield safely. This means someone could do an action such as roll a thermal detonator just slow enough for it to slip past the shield and explode inside of it, killing the wearer.


Description: WESTAR was looking to provide more attachments for the back to the market other than just jetpacks and mobile communication hubs. They were not sure what to make at first so started doing some research on devices used in the past for inspiration. The search did not turn up much, but some researchers did stumble across the mentioning of droidika from the Clone Wars era. So they decided to replicate the idea in the form of a back attachment.

The WESTAR BA-01 was nicknamed "Mr. Bubble" by the designers and was simple in it. It is just a deflector shield generator encased it a durasteel and plastoid shell that is able to attached to the back of armor. Straps were added on to it as well so it is capable for it to be used by armor that lacks the proper design for attachments and individuals who are not wearing any armor. The attachment was designed as well so that it can be activated both from the HUD, a wrist control, or from the face of the devise itself. The power cells are easy to get to and replace to make it so that any who use it in the field are able to do so mid battle if need be from behind cover.

The thing with droideka-grade bubble shields is that they tend to irradiate anyone inside. Since hardly anybody knows or cares, though, any number of personal shields have been approved and used. It would be dumb and unfair for me to do anything other than stamp this.
