Strengths: Focused- The WESTAR MG-02 was built for distance and focus fire in mind. The longer barrels provides the minigun with a longer optimum distance and better accuracy at a longer range. This makes it particularly good at taking out enemy fortifications and vehicles, particularly when using the missile launcher built into it. While not as good at some at mowing down crowds as other miniguns, it is able to do so from a further range than other miniguns.
Weaknesses: Long Balling- The WESTAR MG-02 was designed for distance but lacks any aiming support for the weapon. All shots must be done by eye sight, which in a specialized skill only practiced by the most talented of marksman. The weapon also has more kickback, especially the missile launcher, than normal so the weapon can be difficult to hold. The combination of these two factors means the weapon can have issues with accuracy even within its optimum range in unskilled hands.
Description: The WESTAR arms catalog had a lack of arms providing a large amount of firepower to the users. So some of the designers got on top of creating a minigun designed to provide the firepower that was lacking. They knew of another group working on much the same concept of one for closer quarters, so they decided to go with a design for longer distances and better focused fire. To compliment this they also decided to add the additional feature of a built in missile launcher.
The WESTAR MG-02 was designed with a three rotating barrels that move to spins counter-clockwise. The barrels were created by making the barrel out of silicar as the base with durasteel surrounding it and plastiod over the durasteel as the final layer. The silicar can withstand high levels of heat and stress which allows the weapon to avoid overheating and the metal becoming warped from use. The durasteel provides strength to the barrel and protects the silicar from being pierced by enemy fire. The plastiod covering the durasteel is to further protect the silicar as well as protect the durasteel from elemental hazards. The missile launcher was built in the space between the barrels and was designed in much the same fashion as the barrels were. The same design as the barrels and launcher was kept up for the rest of the weapon as well. The only exception being the handles which are silicar with plastiod covering them. The silicar used in its design also protects the weapon from the effects of outside weather effects such as heat and cold.
The WESTAR MG-02 was given a few special features to provide additional advantages to the weapon. The barrels were made to be longer so that it could shoot at a further distance with retained accuracy than most miniguns. The missile launcher was added more to give the weapon more kill power verses vehicles and fortifications, while also providing another option to take out crowds. The weapon was made with the power cells loading from the top. The cells also pop out some when spent so that they can be more easily removed, which is further made easier by the top loading feature. The weapon's last feature given was the ability to be attached to a power generator via cable for unlimited fire until the generator is spent. This feature though causes the missile launcher to be locked out and unusable until the cable is unhooked from the generator.
