What is a Dark Apex to you guys?

[member="Darth Anarchis"]

Your character, call yourself whatever you like. For titles (in general) I think of either nobility, pride, arrogance, fear, respect, depending on the character and how he earned the title. With Raien its all arrogant pride :D.

Its just a title though...
I just think Old Republic era Sith had more elegance to them than current day ones, but that is my opinion due to the sheer number of Sith back in that era.

A made a Dark Apex once. He was a Force Knight who lost his wife and daughter to a Dark Lord and went mad with grief. In the years to follow he became a cybernectic giant and imbued himself with alchemical prowess. In his search for immortality and the power to resurrect his loved ones, he was drawn to a Dark Star. There he built his fortress and began to draw strength from the Darkside Nexus that was represented in the celestial star. Here he created a Star Forge and began churning out terrible black machines. Failures in a vain attempt to recreate a lost technology. A technology which could create a new likeness of his lost loved ones. HRDs that where spirited by Shards. Sentient Force Crystals.

His greatest creations became his nine daughters. One of which was latter converted to the Light by a Jedi Knight. Eventually returning to the Dark Star as a Jedi herself, to confront her father and liberate her sisters from his grasp. This cybernetic demon, once a man, was too powerful to be destroyed merely physically. But upon his destruction, the Dark Star consumed the fortress in a Celestial Storm and pulled his spirit into the Nexus with it. Trapping him for all time. As the Star had always intended.

In the time that followed his Jedi daughter became his greatest legacy and his greatest champion. Teaching her robotic sisters the ways of the Force and reclaiming the lost heritage of their creator. The man who came before the machine and of the women whom he once loved; and with whom they were built in the physical likeness of. Years later, and in the end of the story, they finally forgave their 'father' for his sins and embrace his memory. The journey of their creation.

___

To summarize. A character cannot be a Dark Apex without also having a story that is just as grand and all-encompassing as mythology itself. To become a legend, one must become: a legend.

Trust me mate. There are always more stories to tell. And when you get there? You'll find that every ending is just the beginning of something even greater. :D

Good point, but I use the Apex term as a way of saying "master of one, new to the rest" XD Seeing how this lord is from the early Old Republic days and all, I dun picture him being a legend or very extreme at all. Also, yer story was good to read there.

Well, there's different degrees of specialist in canon and on the board.

Some are capable of the basics, maybe even at a high level, but heavily focused on one or two abilities. (Examples might be Bastila Shan for battle meditation, Mace Windu for lightsabre combat and shatterpoint, Corran Horn for mentalist illusion and tutaminis, Maw for Force Flight, or Kar Vastor for Plant Surge. On the board, this is fairly common -- Ashin, for one, has a skillset focused on Force Protection/Shield/Weapon.)

Then there's what you might call pure specialists, one-trick ponies who have a limited or nonexistent grasp of the basics. (Some canon instinctive astrogators are this way, for example; on the board, this is somewhat more common than in canon. My character Jorus Merrill is one of these.)

Well, Anarchis falls under the first type of specialist ya said. However, I wonder still what a Darkside Master could really do, it's why I made this thread to start with

Anything really.

I did a thread once with Vyperion where we both took our Force powers to Super Sajyin limits and beyond. We shattered gravity and the earth. We conquered air and sky. Summoning the greater elements and the higher spirits to wage war on our behalf. The very planet beneath us shook and trembled. Every blow smoting the ground asunder and every block tore thunder across the sky. Morgoth himself could not have stood against us. For our forms were like white mountains crowned with power and we flew like the Gods immortal. Into the sun.

It was fun. But utterly utterly ridiculous. We broke the planet and the genre. Trust me dude. The power of RP is all about making memories and forging new friends. Being a God character is lonely, boring, and uninspiring towards your peers. IC and OOC. Just seek out a comfortable level of 'Lordly' prowess akin to Movie Canon and then go about crafting fun stories with the community. Trust me. You'll have a blast. :D

I am Vyperion, so I remember that thread, Jay. If you are up for a duel again, I'm fine with it

It really all depends on how much you want to show off.
Yeah, I thought that, but I know not of many force powers off the top of my head, which feels like a major handicap for that
