What is this place? (Underground, Explorers, pilots, any outside Underground PM before posting)

The last of the V-8 Interceptors.

That was sort of how Coren Starchaser saw the Tachyon Rising, his hot-rod YT-2000. The refurbished craft from another time, that was updated with the newest of Silk Holdings and Iron Crown Enterprises exploration and countermeasure systems. But even here, he knew something was up. The first time he came across this world, he wasn’t sure what was going on. He returned back to an Azure Executive station to fix up his ship and put out an all points bulletin. Marking the world to stay away for anyone else who was assisting in establishing the Blood Trail.

Now that was the tricky part.

Coren Starchaser was part of the Fringe Federation, but only in-so-far as they were protecting the galaxy from the darkness that was the Unknown Regions. That, along with his supposed history with the Chiss, made him a strong contender to be exploring the Unknown Regions. What he needed now, though, was assistance. The APB on the world was put out by AEI and after a few hours, a quick nap, really, Coren sent out a message along the Underground HoloNet frequencies.

He transmitted the route he was working on, going from Annaj out here, really simple. Swing by Dasid Anya and out towards Serpena. When you get halfway there you’re going to feel a pinch and be pulled into real space, back up a few klicks, and that was the rally point. From there, they’d rush down to the world, see what the issue was and hopefully not die historic on the Fury Road.

The Midnight Star, an XS Stock Light Freighter her baby her one and only. The Midnight star came with powerful engines, which allowed it to easily outrun most opponents or authorities. But if a fight was necessary it came armed with standard torpedo launchers, and laser batteries. It also held upper and lateral laster turrets which could be fired manually or remotely from the cockpit, and since Rekha traveled alone most of the time she made full use of the remote controls. And since when she was working she lived on her ship the XS had many standard comforts and a lounge. Yes all the comforts of home her baby.

Her green eyes scanned the space before her it was this very moment of freedom, of being untethered and moving that gave her warm feelings here in the deep dark cold of space.

The bar located on Bespin was now in Fringe space Rekha had been considering changing over her membership so that she could keep the bar going. Perhaps this trip would give her the extra push she needed to do that. Still, her bar gave her reason to cross over from Bespin into the Unknown Region. She looked ahead adjusted course, and engaged the nav comp.

The Underground encouraged her to do the evil little things that she loved...fly high, and fast. Being out here in the unknown regions she could go as fast as she could push the engines.

[member="Coren Starchaser"]

That was how he set up the Tachyon Rising, complete with modified engines. Fast and able to get in and out of nearly anywhere. And that was what was so wrong here. If his ship was pulled from hyperspace? The only one who probably could make it through would be Jorus, but Coren wasn’t going to call on him to save this day. Nah, he could do something on his own. Underground or not, Fringe or not. Making a call to the planet, he wasn’t receiving anything, so the Starchaser began orbiting the world. He wasn’t transmitting out, just drifting around, to see what he could find. Anything of use, what trapped him…

Every thirty minutes, he’d send out a beacon call to the Underground and another one down to the planet. His ship was working on mapping it, taking readings, temperatures and finding out what was up with this world. It seemed normal. Some technology, standard breathable atmosphere. A lot of water. Jungles. Humid. What was wrong with it?

He could go down, he’d give another hour or two before going alone.

"I just don't get it," she grumbled, gray-blue eyes scanning the readouts on her datapad once again, furiously moving beneath glass lenses. "Your systems are fine. There's nothing on the readouts. But you know that feeling you get, when you've had too much caffeine? I'm kinda picking that up via the force....techno-side of things. It's too far away though, for me to get a positive read."

She spared a glance to Coren: the dude she actually trusted enough to go on an Underground mission of exploration with.

"The beacon might've gone through. Won't know unless we see some other ships drop out of hyperspace, though."

She popped another stick of strawberry-razzle gum in her mouth and continued to check the readouts. If they were going planetside she'd have to figure out which gear to bring.

Didn’t get what? Coren looked over at his co-pilot for the mission. Listening to her, he reached out to the Force, could feel [member="Spark Finn"] (no pun intended) and the world. It was… tricky. “There’s something down there that’s blocking the lane here. I just can’t locate it on the damned scanners.” And that was frustrating. The Rising was an older spaceframe but the tech inside? All new. Less than a few years old at the worst part.

“Yeah, I guess we’ll find out. Not much we can do until then, right?” He shrugged as he looked out at the world, the ship in its slow orbit. Running his hands through his hair, he shook his head. “We’re going to have to go down there. See what it is, and turn it off. Just… I can’t tell what’s down there.”

Some child of the ExplorCorps he was. Still, he had weapons, armor, and ammunition.

“Think anyone’s going to be responding?”

[member="Rekha Kaarde"]

[member="Coren Starchaser"]

Nose-scrunched up as she studied her screen. "It's hard to say. I don't see any ships on scanners yet. I'll leave this line open to transmit our location if anyone comes looking for us. Not much else we can do until we get...,"she gulped nervously, "down there."

She had been in wars before. She had gone on Underground missions before. But the butterflies still hit her stomach whenever a situation involved going into unknown territory. Butterflies of excitement and trepidation.

It's a good thing she brought her gun and lightsaber hilt. Ugggh, the lightsaber. Hopefuly she wouldn't have to use it.

He looked over to the cute hipster blonde. Having her around would definitely be the smartest call he made. Someone to deal with the system work on the holonet? Hell maybe he could learn something from her. And hopefully vice versa. Mutally beneficial.

He looked over at her. Didn't need to be a Forcer to know what she was thinking. He got to his feet and stepped to the mini armory he had. It was just off the cockpit and they'd be able to hear anything that the ship picked up. Between that and the speakers in his cabin, he liked to know what was going on.

"You sure you want to come down?" He had at least three sets of Santhe armor aboard the vessel, storm commando derived, and the appropriate weaponry. "You can always stay with the ship."

[member="Spark Finn"] [member="Rekha Kaarde"]

Rekha was performing a barrel roll as practice when the ship communications set off an alarm. Gaining her wits quickly she put the ship back on course then looked to analyze the cause for alarm. Rekha using the coded frequency of the Underground sent back a ping thinking to herself, let's see if that is automated, or live.

She did not move as she slowed her ship further could be a trap too pirates had been known to send our false signals to trap ships, she exhaled. Her green eyes watched ahead, while her ears waited for the return, if there was no return then she'd know that whoever set it up wasn't where the ping was, and if someone did send it back...she'd have to confirm who they were.

How you going to do that she asked herself.

[member="Coren Starchaser"] [member="Spark Finn"]

[member="Coren Starchaser"] [member="Rekha Kaarde"]

She almost immediately agreed to stay on the ship at his suggestion. But after all her travel with Master Lee and Rekali, she couldn't turn down the opportunity to adventure. Besides, whatever it was that was blocking the signal was probably not going to be fixed remotely.

She needed to go.

She felt the ship settle down, planet-side. "You and I both know staying on the ship isn't an option." She squared off the glasses on her face and stood, tossing a comm-unit at Coren's chest on the way to the exit.

"Here. Might wanna try calling to see if anyone can pick us up. Normally system readouts are reliable but I don't trust ours anymore. Call it instinct through the force."

Staying with the ship, yeah, not really an option. He could probably go about this sort of situation on his own, but it would help for others to show up and give him another set of eyes. He looked from his Power-9 to the http://starwarsrp.net/topic/11496-bti-ces-the-retaliator/]Retaliator and checked the power pack. He was ready, that was certain. Just needed to get his armor on. She was right, though, no way she was staying with the ship.

As she tossed him the commlink, he took it. “Roger that. There is an armor system in there, smaller size, should fit you.” He watched her walk past before looking at the comlink. Former Quartermaster, good at sizing everything and one up.

Nothing was getting through, that was for sure, but maybe he could get out. “This is the Tachyon Rising, to any ships in the area. We’re going to be landing on the moon. Any ships in the area please follow our course at these coordinates…” He transmitted them out. Hopefully that would work.

[member="Spark Finn"] [member="Rekha Kaarde"]

It garbled and cracked, Rekha leaned over and tuned the frequency. The soft whisper of a very male voice came through oh she thought Now what are you doing way out here sweetheart.

Rekha turned the ship slowly she would follow them to the moon even if it was just to get a look at whomever was able to make her smile on a day like today, now should she give them the heads up afterall she did not want them to, well shoot her.

Ah what the flip why not, "Tachyon Rising, this is the The Midnight Star I will follow and assist" She was in a good mood why the hell not and her booze was currently safe, who knows maybe they'd like to open a bottle...but then this could be a trick and she could be heading assets first right into a trap.

She'd make sure to be armed before she let anyone on the Star.

[member="Coren Starchaser"] [member="Spark Finn"]

Tachyon Rising was the ship that transmitted the initial signal to the Underground to come out there. As much as the space lane may be infused with dark side components, companies and leaders, keeping people safe was definitely a proponent of the Underground. And that was what they were going to do here, keep people safe by clearing the roadblocks.

“This is Tachyon Rising, Coordinates of our landing site are being transmitted. Note, interference in the area." He made sure that the Tachyon Rising computer would transmit any communications to his armor's comlink. He really needed to fix this armor and make it more useful for the Coren he was now, not the one he was in the past. Picking up his rifle, and checking his lightsaber and scattergun, he nodded as he lowered the ramp.

"You ready, then? No turning back once we're outside." Until they got this hyperspace oddity fixed.

[member="Rekha Kaarde"] [member="Spark Finn"]

[member="Coren Starchaser"] [member="Rekha Kaarde"]

She froze mid-stride and gave the armor a long, critical look. She wasn't strong, even with the force. If she wore that stuff it would be three-times as hard for her to move - let alone move naturally. And this was a thin armor suit!

Then again, she wasn't sure what they were dealing with out there. It would be an excellent time for her to practice force-strengthening exercises. With a huff to push aside some wayward blond-hairs and a face with the look of a sour-pickle, she finally shrugged on the suit Coren indicated.

For a second she thought she heard something crackle over the comm. She had a feeling someone else was out there. If it was a friendly, hopefully, they'd meet soon.

"I'm ready," she gave the suit one last tug and waddled half-dignified out of the ship's open door and down the ramp.

All my bags are packed
I’m ready to go
I’m standin here outside your door

Rekha got the coordinates pausing to make sure she had all the course corrections, and that the Star would handle the hop, skip and jump to…well interesting.

She arched a brow, as she also began to run a check on the ship’s name, Tachyon Rising. Let’s see what that comes back with she thought.

I hate to wake you up to say goodbye
But the dawn is breakin
It’s early morn
The taxi is waitin

She was going to turn the Star into a taxi, going after those in trouble was like providing a taxi. Perhaps one day she could paint it hello and black. She laughed, no fool think straight, she admonished herself mentally.

He’s blowin his horn
Already I’m so lonesome
I could die

Did not want anyone dying that was the thing about making this move, if they weren’t deserving of death she wouldn’t be the one to sentence them to it by pretending she had not heard the call.

Though that voice was….well…for lack of a better word yummy

So kiss me and smile for me

OH I hope he makes me smile,. She stopped a terrible twist on fate crossed her mind please make him as cute as his voice she rolled her eyes. Rekha began humming the rest of the song as the ship engaged and slowly the Star began the trip to rescue, and meet what could be destiny.

Coren was ready, but then again, there were very few things he wasn’t ready for. Right now he was feeling a walking armory. Well, for him this was traveling heavy. Maybe he should have gone for the rifle instead of the scatter gun. That gave him a bit more of range, and after all, it wasn’t like he was under any sort of power-recharge penalty. Next time. For whatever reason, the Force was leading him to believe he’d need the scatter gun. Might have to see if he can get Merr-Sonn to work on a firing mode change for the next in the Power series of pistols.

Just enough to give him the array. Maybe he should just start making his own gear.

When [member="Spark Finn"] let him know she was ready, he nodded and stepped down the boarding ramp. That was when he heard, or sensed, the ship that was entering atmosphere. Must be that someone heard what was going on. He looked to Spark and nodded under his freighter. One hand was going to his lightsaber, but he wasn’t going to activate it just yet. He did send word to the Underground that they were coming out here to figure out what was the cause of the hyperspace fluctuation here and put an end to it, before more people got hurt.

He’d wait for it to touch down, he wasn’t recognizing the ship yet.

[member="Coren Starchaser"] [member="Rekha Kaarde"]

Speckled-face turned to Coren and followed his gaze skyward.

Someone was coming.

She promptly lowered herself onto the ground. Without a word to Coren, she settled into the force. The technopath concentrated on what she did best. Her mind poured into the approaching ship's vital systems. If this wasn't a friendly, the weapons would happen to malfunction first.

The armor was already making her sweat more than a Razzleberry shake sitting out in the Tatooine sun.

Rekha was moving a bit slower than normal, the fly by your pants girl was going in slow making sure she didn’t get her assets shot off.

She checked the transmission again, and the coordinates again. There so far was no hint of deception, there were no other locator beacons, though that was one of the first tricks to pull them out by the wires. There did not seem to be any ships near her location.

This was all good, and in her favor.

She took that deep breath she was ready to begin her descent into the atmosphere, no communications for the next ten minutes as she came through.

This would be when someone could get you, if they were watching they’d attempt to blast you out of the sky, and make you part of all the shiny things in the universe.

She turned the music up a little more to help her relax, as her green eyes scanned from left to right, and right to left looking…just in case…

She did not want to end up in the cold of space, Rekha loved music after all bars and music just went together -

(I really can't stay) But, baby, it's cold outside
(I've got to go away) But, baby, it's cold outside
(This evening has been) Been hoping that you'd drop in
(So very nice) I'll hold your hands they're just like ice

(My mother will start to worry) Beautiful, what's your hurry
(My father will be pacing the floor) Listen to the fireplace roar
(So really I'd better scurry) Beautiful, please don't hurry
(Well, maybe just half a drink more) Put some records on while I pour

He looked over at her, [member="Spark Finn"] was a curious girl, wasn’t she? He could feel her spooling the Force and knew that she was going on some techno-magic binge. He had no knowledge of that and any technopathic or mechu deru inspired skills he had with the Force were undocumented and latent, a result of living aboard starships for so long. His father was one of those ExplorCorp Tech Specialists, so it wasn’t a shock to Coren if he was that good.

Hand on the hilt of his shoto, enough to block the bolts coming at him and his ship, he still watched it. He held up a hand to the ship as it got closer, not needing to block the sun out, but to signal that he wasn’t meaning harm, his arm was turned so that he had his palm on the lower end of the hilt. He wasn’t recognizing the vessel, but that didn’t mean much. So long as they didn’t open fire, he’d give Spark the all clear.

[member="Rekha Kaarde"]

[member="Coren Starchaser"] [member="Rekha Kaarde"]

A little wiggle of her shoulders was her only movement. She stayed invested in her task, ready to take down the ship with one force-induced technological mishap if Coren gave the word.

Defensive force bubble was ready to go up, too.

Wasn't much else she could do until the ship landed and the occupant exited and identified themselves as a friendly or foe.

Oh look there were people on the surface, ok. That was expected right? Sure. Rekha began to ease off and slowly bring the Star down, away from the other ship in case it had some issue.

She kept her emerald green eyes on the pair below their body language said tense. So now were they tense because they didn’t know her, or because they were getting ready to shoot her.

She arched a brow as she set the Star down, flipping a few switches the engines began to power down. She could still see them out there looking, and she looking at them……..a staring contest, or a game of chicken which was it.

Rekha decided that there was only one way to find out, there was no music to play except a dirge that would indicate the mystery that lay in front of her.

She rose up took that deep breath that put starch in her resolve and made her way towards the door, she of course stopped to get a blaster in case things got ugly quick.

She stood at the door said a small prayer. The palm of her hand hit the release with a hiss the ship opened, Rekha put the blaster at her back, tucked away. Her hands open she walked down looking over at [member="Coren Starchaser"] and [member="Spark Finn"]

“Hello folks, I’m Rekha Kaarde, I answered your call” She smiled and waited.
