What is this place? (Underground, Explorers, pilots, any outside Underground PM before posting)

He wasn’t sure he needed to unleash his little technomancer on the space ship. He kept a hand down and open, he’d close it when it was time to spring into action, but he wasn’t getting that reading.

The whole situation was tense. Coren knew the Unknown Regions, he knew how dangerous it could get, he knew not to trust it all the time. And ships that looked familiar? They could easily be controlled, or pirated. And he didn’t want to run the risk of losing HIS ship, nor his co-pilot. Was that what Spark was no? Yeah, sure, why not, right? When the ship touched down, he took a cautious step forward, he knew that Spark would undersand if he started firing to do her thing.

Girl was smart. He liked that. But the face that stepped down, that wasn’t someone that was going to attack. He let his hand go away from his blaster and gave a forward wave for Spark.

Kaarde, Kaarde… He knew that name. Why did he know that name? One of the pilots in Underground, obviously. Maybe that was what it was? Coren wasn’t one hundred percent certain. Maybe that was what it was. “Hey, Rekha. Thanks for coming. Sorry about… all that. Comms are acting up here. Whole world is acting up. Coren Starchaser.” He pointed to Spark. “And Spark Finn, was your flight out here alright?” What? A Warden needs to know these things.

It was funny how quickly she picked up on Coren's hand gestures. Her comfort level around him was beginning to be just that, a comfort level. Shoulders relaxed considerably as he gave the all-clear.

Eyes behind glass lenses focused in on an ally as she mentally withdrew from the woman's ship and potentially damaging her systems.

Wobbling up to a stand after a stiff and concentrated posture, she gave off a timid wave just behind Coren's shoulder to the one named Rekha.

Coren Starchaser, the name said it all didn’t it now she knew why the voice had an effect on her she had heard it before. She lifted her hands so he could see they remained empty.

“What are you guys doing this far out? If I hadn’t been coming from a booze run who knows how long it would have been till you were found”
Rekha looked at Spark and smiled. “I don’t bite unless invited to” She smiled at the young girl. She wondered would she react in the same way another slicer she had met not long ago would. “Don’t be afraid Spark” She moved a little closer now to get a good look at them.

Oh yeah…he she noticed he had that gaze that made women pass him their room key and the girl who could forget such a bespeckled cutie with full lips. Rekha winked.

“Ok. So..what do you need?” Emerald green eyes went from one to the other, she also waited to hear what were they doing.

Sure, maybe Coren was being like… anti-feminist or something, but he wanted to protect Spark. If she wanted to speak up for herself, she was more than welcome to talk Coren down and give him a piece of her mind. He was half expecting that, anyway. Sort of. He wasn’t really sure how to handle Spark sometimes, btu she was safe, and they weren’t being attacked, so that was important. No matter how strong the armor, they’d have a tricky time fighting down starship blasts.

And really, he was going to watch out for the blonde.

Booze run, eh? So not one of the people that got the message? Maybe the Underground just didn’t want to touch the Unknown Regions? Coren couldn’t exactly blame them. But this was a bit coincidental. All the way out here for liquor? He nodded as she spoke, didn’t really get the feeling they were under distress with her here.

He was getting a vibe off of her and was trying to place it. Definitely a bar owner, and entertainer. Maybe this wasn’t going to go belly up after all.

“I’m working on breaking through a hyper trail around the Unknown Regions, provide a safe passage here. There has been a strange anomaly here. Pulling ships out of hyperspace too soon, too far from the gravity well. Something’s bending the well of this world, or boosting it. I intend to find out what it is, and stop it.” Of course, he was hoping it was mechanical, with his luck it was natural, or…. Some Vong biot.

Terrific.

She gawked a little as the woman mentioned something about being invited to bite. Spark was socially awkward during normal circumstances. During circumstances like these...

.........

......

..

..........

Pale cheeks weren't the best for concealing emotions. "Right. So...alcohol. Might need some of that later. Coren and I were just going to check it out. You coming?" Without further awkwardness, she spun about, eyes glued to her datapad and began wandering off in the general direction she was picking up on the disturbance.

The armor was making her walk a little bow-legged.

OH Look she’s speechless, had been a little while since Rekha had been able to get that kind of reaction from anyone, except the waitresses in the Underground Bar. Rekha looked at Coren what he said was interesting.

“Yeah I heard about a freighter out this way a few weeks back all their navigation instruments went wonky and they could get their bearings, next thing they’re trying to send a distress. A week later they found parts of the ship” Rekha had been too far away that time to detour.

“So yes if you are looking to fix that, I’m here to help in whatever capacity I can” It was a matter of safety, business, and…showing others she had an interest in things other than herself.

“Need me to carry anything”

Rekha looked at Spark who was moving out pretty quick crimson cheeks still burning as she walked.

“Hey Sparkler you’re walking funny, what have you been doing?” She looked at Coren and winked, “Have you been riding?” Rekha could almost tell that it was the armor but she wouldn’t be herself if she didn’t turn it into something else. Course she also wondered if the blonde would understand the reference.

The one thing with Coren that was always constant was that he was a man of business, and action. Sure, he could carry on with pilots, used to, apparently, when he returned home from sorties to the Dawn Treader, but when it was time to be serious and get something done? He focused. Hard. It was a bit intimidating, or so he was told. Who knew with the pair here. Still, he did get a little smile with [member="Spark Finn"]’s mental reaction to [member="Rekha Kaarde"].

Girl was going to need to learn some social skills.

Still, he nodded to Rekha. “Yeah, I came out this way, I’m… decent at navigating and was able to get around it. But I am on contract here, so I want to knock this leg of the trip out, fix what we can and make it safe again.” Plus there was that whole Warden thing. Did Spark even know about that?

Well, they did stop to help anyone who was distressing…

“Nah, I got the gear, anything you think you might need from your ship, grab that. Ain’t no idea what’s out here.” Yeah, Coren switched his lilt a lot.

Explorer, and stuff.

He coughed though, and tried to cover his laugh when Rekha spoke next. Oh, this was going to be a treat. “I’m uh… seeing something of interest a few klicks…” He spun his finger. “Lets call it north, of here. Bout two, three at most?” Scanners were fethed.

[member="Rekha Kaarde"] [member="Coren Starchaser"]

She was ahead of them but they would catch up to her in no time with the way the armor made her thin-form waddle. Blue-eyes bulged at Rekha's comment but she didn't turn around until she heard Coren's attempt at stifling a giggle. A glare was passed his way through her glasses.

Narrowed-gaze settled on Rekha.

"What, like a speeder? And NO." The blond stammered, clearly flustered and frazzled and no good at hiding either emotion. Curiosity could, of course, smooth out her hitched-state. "You heard stories, huh? That's a good sign for us. Probably means survivors of that freighter or somebody was left well enough alone to find the parts and make a report."

She strutted ahead, nose buried back in her datapad and going the general direction Coren indicated.

"You guys coming or what?"

This time, she didn't bother looking over her bony-shoulder at wise-crack and blue eyes.

[member="Coren Starchaser"] | [member="Spark Finn"]
“Let me button the ship up and grab another blaster and then I’ll be right along” She could see Spark had taken off like she was shot out of a cannon. “You did say north” She was walking backwards as she moved back towards the ship, he was pilot he knew north this was his best guess.

“Yeah, a speeder, you know anything that has a stick………shift” She smiled seeing that Spark was flustered then it dawned on Rekha…there was a bonafide, most likely certified organic…virgin. Well well she thought be good Kaarde she added, you’ll frighten her then what.

“Hey pretty girl, don’t be like that, it’s all in good fun…you can tell someone you once got bit by another girl!” Rekha laughed she looked at Coren, “it’s sometimes about the story that makes life worth getting up for, go head I’ll be right along”

Rekha headed back into the Star to make sure everything was secure, she would help them in whatever way she could. She wasn’t the scientific type which they should figure out pretty quick, but she was a hard worker.

She did speak her mind, and she was a terrible flirt. But people either loved her, hated her, or tolerated her. She could see Coren and Spark they were safe she figured she could relax unless, well someone turned up that decided safe was a bad thing.

She was moving out of the ship, blaster hung on each side of her, holster trailing down her leg tying off at the knee. Her hands rested on the handle ready to pull and shoot.

She ran to catch up, “You guys should let me carry something, I promise not to drop it” She felt, well odd them carrying everything and her well empty handed.

Was Coren Starchaser going to have to be the adult here? He looked between his blonde co-pilot and their new companion. Little did he know this was the making of a lasting Underground cell, still, the fighter pilot was a bit confused as to what was going on with the pair, he’d let them get out it. Mainly it was Rehka dealing with the girl whom he assumed did not actually get out much. Still, Spark was… she was Spark.

Girl was all sorts of awkward, but when it counted? She could, and did shine. For that Coren was thankful. The pilot gave [member="Rekha Kaarde"] a glance as she backpedaled to her ship. And even for him, Rekha was just crude enough. They’d get along famously, he figured, but there was no way in any of the nine Corellian hells he was getting in the middle of this conversation. “North, yeah.”

As for having her around? Well, it could pan out to being a good time. “Nah, we got it all, just a bit of extra precaution, somethin’ I learned on one too many Unknown Region trips, always carry enough. Ain’t too much with the supplies. Anyhow… Where’d the news find you about the freighter?”

He was watching [member="Spark Finn"] ahead of him as he worked, not too hard, to catch up to the slight blonde. Now he’d find himself between a rock and a hard place. Rek was a flirt, something he could respect, and that was something he didn’t want to cause to put Spark off. Not that he was courting Spark, though… She was his co-pilot.

[member="Rekha Kaarde"]n [member="Coren Starchaser"]

She grumbled under her breath at the other woman's ostentatious comments, nose nearly pushed against the datapad in her hands as she trudged along. That off-feeling was certainly growing stronger. Whatever they were about to find or stumble upon, it was getting closer.

"I'm good here," she managed a distracted grunt to Rekha's offer of being sherpa. "I'm picking up some sort of signal. Never seen anything like it before. It doesn't make sense," thin lips pursed thinner as she suddenly stopped and looked out into the surrounding field, just before the dark outline of the jungle swallowed everything up.

Blue eyes beneath glass lenses squinted in the sun. Perspiration already lined any part of her skin exposed to the humid air. One eye twitched.

All the technology she was sensing right now through the force didn't line up with what she was seeing. It was making her head split. Not knowing how to articulate her thoughts further, she scratched her head once and continued in.

[member="Coren Starchaser"] [member="Spark Finn"]

Rekha tried not to frown to much so they really just wanted someone to make sure they could get off the planet and she was. um..well...decoration. She while at times could be totally self absorbed did not like the feeling of uselessness. It was...well.. it was......not healthy.

"So...the news on the freighter came via a group coming into Bespin, word on space lanes travels fast and when its something that will make you crash and burn well, it comes at you at light speed." She walked along watching Spark and then looking ot Coren. "I have a bar out that way, I see a lot of people passing through lately. Especially since the event, I may have to consider moving depending on how the new landlords are"

Rekha tried to relax to remember, information was useful. "So, you really think this could be something man made?"

Really, Spark should probably watch where she was walking. Sure, their new and future ally in Rekha was a bit… rough but that didn’t bother Coren. Not one bit. And his loyalty at the moment was definitely to protecting [member="Spark Finn"] and her awkadorable-ness. He could handle Rekha. Oh, could he.

“That the… datapad speaking, Spark, or you?” He wasn’t sure about the whole announcing their Force skills around [member="Rekha Kaarde"] yet. Again, protection of his crew. He turned over to the other pilot, the newcomer and nodded. He knew she’d find her stride with this dynamic duo and turn it into a terrible trio, or something using alliteration.

“Which event? Fringe or the… Rapture? And, yeah, news travels fast. I spend a lot of time in dives along a variety of space lanes. Some talk is good, too much talk is either false or really good. But it seems they gave you the right bit.” Bespin though, Coren hadn’t been there in a piece. Maybe it was time to visit. “What bar?”

See? Small talk.

As for when Spark stopped. “What’ve you got? I see… jungle.” Not exactly the blonde’s area of expertise. That was a fact, not a jab at her.

[member="Rekha Kaarde"] [member="Coren Starchaser"]

"It was me," she grunted in response to Coren's first question. A third of her attention was on Rekha and Coren's 'small talk.' The other woman seemed to be a natural wih people-skills, something Spark could easily admire and envy. But one third of her attention was on walking, she was almost to the lip of the jungle. And the last third was in what she was sensing.

Blond-haired head looked over her shoulder at the pair, brow crinkled in confusion. "It's like there's supposed to be a sh-eeeep!" With her next step, the slicer was swallowed into the earth. There was a hiss and a click as the sound of a hidden hatch within the 'jungle-floor' closed.

She was plunged into darkness and a sharp landing.

[member="Coren Starchaser"] [member="Spark Finn"]

Rekha had started to say something about jungles when Spark disappeared, quickly Rekha without thinking ran towards the spot, the sounds of mechanics told her man made. She looked over at Coren her lips pursed tightly together, "I hate surprises like this" She had heard Spark say that it was her, so Rekha was going out on a limb, "If you're force sensitive, tell me you can still sense her"

Rekha truly had a soft heart and when she allowed it to show it was rare. She would not want the little blonde to be hurt or worse. She did not get right on top of the spot in case it was a booby trap that only took in one at a time, "I'm willing to stand on it to see if it will open if you are fast enough to make the fall with me" She for a moment thought about how that would bring him closer, but it wasn't a time to think about that this was someone who could be in trouble, or could have landed softly and be having the time of her life.

Either way, they needed to go down.

He nodded, he figured it was her, but he wanted to be sure. If there was something out there? It was a good thing that Spark’s writer didn’t trust Corey’s highlighting of speech, because even Corey missed that. But Coren didn’t, he nodded when Spark claimed it was her. Still didn’t mean it wasn’t some techno babble stuff. The Corellian was only really good at finding objects and people, the whole realm of feeling out tech? That was new.

And then Spark was gone.

And Rekha still hadn’t answered his question about the bar.

Right! Spark. Gone!

That was a thing.

He took a second to clear his mind and reached out to Spark. “I’ve got her.” He looked to Rekha. “You stand on there and fall, I’m coming with you.” Jam the fething thing with the Force if he had to. “If you trust me.” She was new to the team, at this point.
